everything feels cozy in this small jazz pub in the village. they have live music every night at 9 and 10:30. amazing bands, amazing staff, prices for tickets are correct and cocktails are solid. no overcharge! It’s a wonderful venue for a romantic jazz night. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how crucial live music is to New Yorkers.

I like how they set a live season online to welcome more jazz listeners. The venue itself is quite elongated and you will sit far behind if you don't have have a reservation. We arrive 40 minutes earlier and got a good spot. The reservation is 40 dollars and a drink order is mandatory.

10/10 experience. Took my family, and loved every single detail about it! Booked tickets in advance and got great seats. Music and service was phenomenal. We arrived 10 minutes before the show. It’s my favorite jazz bar in the city!

Just want you want in a Jazz Bar. Intimate, respect for the artist and jaw dropping jazz. Felt like a warm hug on a cold day. We caught the Jason Brown trio. Just sat in a cosy feverdream of a pocket and let it all wash over me. Hope to come back soon.

I can’t stop thinking about my night at Mezzrow—it felt like stepping into jazz history. Tucked into a cozy basement in the West Village, the place has a speakeasy vibe: exposed brick walls, candlelit marble tables, and that faint rumble of the A Train underneath that only adds to the underground charm. The acoustics are phenomenal, filling the room without overwhelming it, and the room is so small (about 30 seats) that you’re literally a couple of feet from the musicians.

Went for a jazz trio event. I purchased tickets online in advance. Before and during the show, you can order drinks. The drinks were good, pricing is a little high. The atmosphere is well decorated but flat due to low ceiling. I like to believe it helps for the sound. There are not many places to sit, so reservation is crucial for specific events.

BEWARE: DO NOT ENTER IF YOU HAVE CLAUSTROPHOBIA!! It’s not intimate: it’s an overcrowded, overstuffed, low ceiling, no air circulating hole in the ground. The sound system is non-existent. It’s dirty: no cleaning between sets. My feet were glued to a puddle of sugary something that was spilled I don’t know when. I understand that I have to pay for drinks in addition to the entrance ticket. I asked for a decaffeinated coffee. They didn’t had any, the server recommended me camomille tea. I accepted. She brought me peppermint tea saying that they were also out of camomille and peppermint didn’t have caffeine in it. If I have to pay 8$ for a bag of tea, at least have the decency to return and ask me what I want! If not, just increase the ticket price and don’t bother me while I’m listening to music. TLDR: Overcrowded, overrated place. I won’t return. Bad service. Bad experience.

a friend and i visited this jazz club not too long ago and absolutely loved it here! we didn’t have reservations, but were still able to get a table near the bar and listen to the band - the music and atmosphere were phenomenal and the service was great! everyone was super kind, and the place is cozy and perfect for a small group or just yourself. would recommend visiting is you’re in the area!
