Google
Recently visited for the second time and again it was absolutely fantastic. I had the haggis fritter to start, really enjoyable, followed by the steak and sausage pie (which I forgot to get a picture of) and then the caramel shortcake. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, amazing Scottish food. The decor is spectacular and the staff are brilliant. A fantastic gem of a place in the merchant city.

Google
Absolutely excellent Scottish food! We came here in a pinch as another restaurant I had booked at only had their Christmas menu, but I was trying to show my visitor some Scottish food. Luckily this place let us in and I’m so glad for it because this might be my new favourite place for Scottish food! :) I ordered a salmon and prawn starter. My visitors ordered the haggis and the Cullen skink. All of it was very nice. I tried the haggis lasagna for something different and it was so cheesy and a good combo. The sea bass and lamb was also brilliant. Recommend!!

A lovely restaurant in the centre of Glasgow! The combination of delicious food and Scottish music made me love this restaurant. We took 2 starters ( leak soup and haggis) which we didn't really like , 2 mains (crofter's pie and steak & sausage pie served with vegetables and potatoes) that were amazing and a dessert (luxury caramel shortcake) that takes you to heaven🤤. The prices are really good for what they offer you!

Google
Highly recommended! This is an amazing restaurant. I visited on my last trip to Glasgow and was once again impressed by the wonderful food and atmosphere. We were seated in a private and quiet spot, where we could still enjoy the laughter and chatter around us while keeping our own space peaceful. We tried the steak and sausage pie, haggis, mussels, along with some drinks and desserts. The quality of the food was excellent, and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional, always attentive as they moved around to look after guests. This place has become a must-visit for me whenever I’m in Glasgow.

Google
NO complaints from us. We ignored recommendations for other restaurants in Merchant City and were very glad we did. Fantastic, honest, high quality fayre. HUGE portion sizes. Not pretentious and doesn't have to be....does exactly what the owners promised. I went traditional Turkey, the wife had Chicken and Haggis Pie. Starters Cullenskink soup and Prawn n smoke Salmon (Marie Rose sauce was best she's ever tasted) The pie would have fed 2 (and did, I helped myself to a couple of healthy portions!)

We turned up without a reservation but they fitted us in, even tho the restaurant was fully booked. Great service, staff knew what was in the food so my allergy was no problem. Lamb rump with veg was outstanding , can’t recommend more highly and live music to boot !

Took my mum here for a belated birthday lunch and had their very reasonably priced lunch menu. The food was super fresh and delicious - great offering of real Scottish food and very friendly staff. We booked ahead and they had the table ready and waiting with a jug of cold tap water for us! Would visit again when I come back, as I don't live in Scotland anymore so this was a real taste of home!

Google
We visited Mharsanta in Glasgow and had a truly wonderful dining experience that captured the essence of traditional Scottish cuisine. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a modern yet rustic design that feels both cozy and stylish. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great food, and soak in a bit of local charm. We ordered the famous Cullen Skink — or as we jokingly called it, the “Colin Skank” — and it was absolutely delicious. This hearty smoked haddock soup is a Scottish classic, and Mharsanta serves one of the best versions we’ve ever had.

Yelp
While we were in Glasgow, Scotland one of the places we dined was at Mharsanta. The restaurant had a nice charming ambiance to it. We we were welcomed kindly by the staff and seated right away. I wanted to try a drink from Scotland. The waiter recommended Tennents Lager because it is brewed in Glasgow city itself. Very cool! I thought it tasted refreshing! Also tried the Scottish soft drink called Irn-Bru. I liked this soda a lot. It has its own unique delicious taste. Wish I could find it here in the States!! I could use one right now as I write. Wifey and I decided to share our entrees and soup. I ordered the Freshly Landed Scottish Fish & Chips. She ordered the Fresh Scottish Haggis Burger. My fish & chips was good. I preferred her Haggis burger though. It was yummy! Dessert was also delicious. We got a taste of Scotland at this wonderful restaurant. It was a terrific first time experience at Mharsanta.

Yelp
We had an amazing meal. We are American and stopped in earlier this month on a whim. I was a haggis virgin, and ordered the appetizer portion of Haggis Neeps & Tatties. I was holding my breath as I tucked in, and after my first bite my only thought was "This is really good!" My wife (a chef) had Cullen Skink at my request and it was amazing. We had a long conversation about what smoked fish we could get in the US to cook it ourselves, smoked haddock is unheard of where we live. Her Fish & Chips were great, and my steak and sausage pie was very good. All in all a fantastic meal, thank you so much Mharsanta, we wish you well.

Yelp
Very strong 3&1/2 and a functional Yelp 4...Despite being lucky enough to have had the opportunity to have made a number of visits to the great nation of Scotland, and arguably it's greatest and definitely largest city of Glasgow, I would be a fool to try to pass myself off as some sort of authority on it's cuisine, or larger culture in general for that matter. That being said, I found this contemporary Scottish gastropub, with a traditional Scottish Language name I could not begin to attempt to try to pronounce, right in the heart of one of Central Glasgows main strips to be a really solid representation of both. Considering we stumbled into this place blindly during a Sunday Morning torrential downpour after being turned away from the more widely known, historic (and Bourdain approved) Cafe Gandolfi around the corner, I was skeptical that this would be a forgettable and/or mediocre meal or worse. Happily I was beyond pleasantly surprised by the uniformly solid take on Scottish and wider UK classics, the professional and friendly service and in particular the great multi course lunch special, which offered our group a chance to pick and choose and share, and sample widely across the menu, with portions huge enough to have leftovers for our Glasgow relatives to take home and enjoy later. The Cullen & Skank I had as my first course option, is a very thick seafood laden chowder, with a more yellowish tint than any NE clam you'll find back stateside and with an aggressively smokey and fishy (in the best way) flavor owing to the dominance of the smoked haddock at it's base. The Haggis, surely the most notorious and iconic of all Scottish dishes, served here in classically traditional fashion alongside perfectly lightly whipped up mashes of potato and turnips, which provide the perfect contrast to the dense, rich and unctuous haggis, it's rich decadent blend of oats and barley with deliciously bits of various organ meats was lovely and soul satisfying, dare I say delicious and nicely presented enough to make a convert of even the mildly offal-averse. The fried Haggis cake/fritter app that the misses got was one step to far for me however, and I imagine eating the whole thing of one of them might have run the risk of taking me out of commission for the day, landing in by stomach like a lead anchor. I would especially not advise ordering that, as she did in combination with the massive, very solidly prepared fish and chips, the portion size of which I would more commonly expect maybe in Texas as opposed to Scotland. I did however very much enjoy the Haggis, mixed alongside minced beef and a rich flavorful gravy enveloped in a delectable savory pie crust in the traditional Crofters Pie. While most of the party opted not to choose the desert course option and topped out at 2 courses, one of us did choose it and selected the most traditional seeming option of a lovely Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was probably just the perfect amount of food we could have at that point in the very filling and haggis-heavy meals before verging into over-stuffed territory. Cocktails were also quite nice, if just a tad on the sweet side, which I found to be more often the case than not in this country. All in all, while maybe not a life changing experience, you could do a lot worse than seeking refuge on a rainy Scottish afternoon by popping in here and having a, relaxed satisfying, solid stick to your ribs Scottish supper in a supremely pleasant room.

Yelp
Fantastic food, friendly staff, and affordable prices. Great vegetarian options. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My friends and I went here for a group lunch at the end of 2023. The staff were very nice, as was the atmosphere. The food wasn't the best with the soup being extremely salty and the salad being fairly basic. Prices were ok, but I would not rush back here.

Yelp
First off, I really like the ambiance. It would make a great date night. I ordered the goat cheese croquettes and the soup of the day, which was tomato and red pepper, so there are definitely vegetarian options even if you don't want the vegetarian haggis. My family ordered the steak pie and the traditional stovies, and loved both. It's a good spot for a group if some of you want traditional Scottish and some don't.

Yelp
Terrific food! Attentive and charming staff. Best restaurant of the week! Best Scottish menu we tried.

Yelp
What a fun night we had. We followed the bag piper down the road and entered into a lovely restaurant. We did not get to see the entire place. We were on a tour with 25 other people who went there for dinner and a "show". We had a lovely dinner, though we felt the portions were small. But we're all Americans so I am not one to be criticizing. The restaurant did offer haggas some of us tried it , I did not. The service was very good. It was a fun evening with true Irish fare

Yelp
The food here was absolutely terrific. The Scottish food was amazing. The service was excellent and friendly. The desert ( toffee pudding) was terrific. Everything in this restaurant was top notch. Absolutely it deserves 5 stars.

Yelp
I was very pleased with my dinner here while visiting Glasgow. The service here was excellent while I was traveling with a big group. They had good options for vegetarians and even offered to make my meal vegan. Their drink selection was incredible and the decor was pleasing to the eye. Overall the atmosphere was inviting and the waitstaff was very friendly and efficient. I had the mushroom cream on toast as my starter which was excellent. I had the vegetarian version of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. It consisted of mashed potatoes, mashed turnips and a grain medley and it was so delicious. I had the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for my dessert. My mom enjoyed her goat cheese bon bons as her starter and the fish and chips as her main meal. She was very pleased with the chocolate cheese cake for dessert. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice place to have a meal while visiting Glasgow. The only minor issue was the restroom had an empty soap dispenser and two empty soap containers so I couldn't wash my hands properly

Yelp
Very nice people. Lovely live music. Ordered the Sunday dinner but was disappointed with how tough and stringy the meat was. None of the food seemed fresh. Three stars for the service, music and atmosphere. Zero stars for the food.
