The Wyck Recommendation: MHC Vintage (Sorauren Ave) Rating: 3.6/5 Big Space Quiet Magic Intro Scene Some places hit you loud. This one does not. I wandered into MHC Vintage on a scorchingly hot Toronto afternoon, expecting chaos and clutter. Instead, I found quiet. Light. Denim. A mannequin in a skull tee. Nobody hovering. Just a calm kind of stillness you do not often get in city shops anymore. What Was Ordered Nothing, this time. But I sifted through racks of old band tees, retro jerseys, worn-in jeans, striped pants, unexpected records, and some character-heavy furniture. The right pieces are here. They are just not trying too hard to impress. You have to dig a little, but that is part of the charm. Service Commentary Staff were not visible during my visit. Maybe the heat had everyone in retreat mode. It did not feel rude. Just very hands-off. Would have been nice to have someone floating around in case you had a question or wanted to chat about a find. Vibe Check Calm, almost meditative. It is the kind of place where you hear your own footsteps and get lost in the racks. No music, no pressure, no one staring you down. You are just left alone to explore, which some people will absolutely love. The Space Itself Massive, with big factory windows pouring in light. Concrete floors, a few scattered displays, and a wall papered in NOW OPEN graphics that feel like punk art therapy. There is no sleek layout or obvious organization. But it works, if you let it. About the Neighborhood Tucked just off Dundas West on Sorauren Ave, in the quiet pocket between cafés and creative studios. Sorauren Park is a short walk away if you want to decompress after your treasure hunt. Hits and Misses ✓ Right pieces if you are patient ✓ Prices are fair for Toronto vintage ✓ Beautiful natural light and raw space ✗ Curation feels scattered at times ✗ Staff were missing in action ✗ Gems are there but not well showcased Final Verdict MHC Vintage feels like a warehouse daydream. Sunlight, stillness, and racks waiting to be explored. It is not flashy. It is not trying to be cool. And maybe that is the point. The good stuff is here, it is just not begging for attention. Come with time, curiosity, and low expectations. You might just leave with something great. Rating: 3.6 out of 5 Perfect for Slow Sundays after coffee People who thrift like they meditate

Went for a walk on Sauroren on a beautiful day today with my daughter, best friend and puppy. We saw this cute vintage shop and decided to look for some treasures. I was done looking around and waiting for my friend when I noticed the cashier filming me with her phone proudly up and wearing this odd smile. At first I thought nothing of it and assumed she was filming for social media but as I moved around she followed me with the aim of her phone (still smiling from the corner of her mouth). I couldn't tell if it was because she thought my puppy was cute or for malicious intent because I'm brown? Creeped me out either way and decided to leave. While I waited outside for my friend to be done looking I observed and she had stopped filming as soon as I left. I'm a little shaken up to be honest and I don't know what to do.

MHC is the hottest vintage shop in Toronto— no doubt. I find the biz has become so diluted in recent years— but these guys are holding a killer quality standard —and keep it flowing with totally accessible pricing. Just recently discovered since being out of Toronto a few years— totally thrilled to find such pros making absolutely beautiful style, deals, and conversation!! This shop has it *all*— check it out!!

*EDITED* i saw some negative reviews about pricing, but when i went recently they were actually lowering all their prices one by one! So maybe give it another shot if you had this issue**** This is my favourite vintage shop to spend hours and try stuff on that I rarely see anywhere else. The curation to me is definitely inspired by fine tailoring, couture esque vintage dresses, but dont worry there are TONS of graphic tees, crews, workwear as well. Great mix of stuff, and prices are very fair

Massive, ever-changing collection that's incredibly well curated. Items are high-quality, so don't come in expecting thrift store prices. That being said - I've found some great scores at very reasonable prices, and have also splurged on a couple higher-end pieces, totally worth it. I brought my dad here on a months-long search for the perfect leather jacket, and he found exactly what he was looking for. His tailor even made a point of commenting on how excellent the quality of the leather is. Bonus: if you're a tallie that often finds you miss out on vintage goods because everything made before 2000 was for people six inches shorter - you're in luck at this place. I don't know where they find pants that are long enough, but they do! So sad that this gem moved out of my 'hood and over to Roncey, but I can imagine it's a much better fit for their target clientele. Love to dip in when I'm in the area!

Nice finds today. $20 bins are cool, too. Have been getting a piece or two every now and then and want to +1 the place. Thanks for being open on a Sunday afternoon!

Popped in MHC Vintage looking forward to checking out the neighbourhood’s new vintage spot. Was even more excited to stumble on some vintage glassware I really liked. Not sure if I displayed my excitement too much, but was disheartened and taken aback when I was told that they were mislabeled and actually cost double the price! 😮 I get that mistakes happen but I didn’t think it was handled well. Still bought the items as I thought they’d make the perfect gift, however I definitely left disappointed at how the experience went down and unsure if I’ll return 🤨 My fam and I love shopping local, and I suppose it was what it was — be that as it may.
