We love the standard of the hotel, in the middle of the city... And yet an oasis of calm.
There was a big party on a Friday evening, which took place in the entrance area and the beautiful inner courtyard. There were lots of people and an exuberant atmosphere, but it was correspondingly loud. We think that for a hotel of this size, it is appropriate to point this out to the hotel guests, as many would not have been able to sleep at all with this noise. Thank goodness we are not too bitchy! During the day, there were service staff in the foyer talking loudly, but no one ever thought to ask if you would like a drink if you were sitting in the courtyard. Some training is still needed. If you were in the room during the day, the staff talking is so loud that it gets annoying at some point. Apparently there's not that much to do. There shouldn't be. When you come downstairs in the morning, nobody at reception says "good morning". The rooms are really nice and it's a great place, but the management needs to invest in staff training again.
