The 40 Best Resorts in Mexico: 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards | Condé Nast Traveler

"Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Tulum beach, this adults-only boutique hotel is filled with romantic nooks—egg-shaped chairs over the pool, daybeds in private gazebos, and hammocks on patios—and I left sliding doors open to invite the sea breeze into the guestrooms. The onsite restaurant serves timeless coastal classics at daily brunch and intimate dinners, while the spa offers coffee exfoliation, chocolate mud wraps, and flower baths; the Mayan ruins at Tulum are about a 35-minute walk away." - CNT Editors

Mi Amor

"Set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the beach in Tulum, this adults-only boutique hotel is filled with romantic little nooks from which to take in the sun and surf: egg-shaped chairs dangling over the pool, cushioned daybeds in private gazebos, hammocks slung from private patios. There’s a beachy minimalism to the guest rooms, where you’ll want to leave the sliding doors open to invite in the sea breeze. At the onsite restaurant, Australian chef Paul Bentley serves the kind of Mexican-meets-Mediterranean cooking you want to eat in a setting like this, with dishes such as squid ink garganelli with braised octopus and tempura fish tacos with jalapeño peanut salsa, while spa treatments include ground coffee exfoliation, chocolate mud wraps, and flower baths. Best of all, you’re about a 35-minute walk from the Mayan ruins of the Tulum archaeological site." - Nicholas DeRenzo

Mi Amor Tulum is an absolute dream—truly the perfect spot for a honeymoon! From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and cared for. The hotel is intimate, peaceful, and unbelievably gorgeous, with lush surroundings that make every corner feel special. The food is delicious as well -- the smoothies and juices are beyond - and definitely book the dinner on the rocks one night!||The staff is beyond amazing—so warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made every interaction feel personal and went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable.||The location is also fantastic. You’re a quick 5-minute walk (or less!) to the beach, and downtown is close by if you’re feeling adventurous. It strikes the perfect balance between quiet retreat and easy access to everything Tulum has to offer.||Our room was stunning—immaculate, clean, beautifully designed, and super cozy. If you can, definitely book one with a plunge pool. And book a hot stone massage at the hotel, you won't regret it. All of it was such a treat and made the experience feel even more luxurious.||Highly, highly recommend Mi Amor Tulum. It’s romantic, relaxing, and everything you could want in a getaway. We can’t wait to come back!

This was on the higher end of what we’ve ever paid for a hotel, but we were not disappointed with our choice. The property truly goes above and beyond to create a luxurious experience. The entire hotel is beautiful, the rooms are exceptionally comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a partial sea-view room with a plunge pool and ended up using the pool far more than expected. The cabanas by the water were also extremely relaxing and beautiful. Getting to nearby beaches was easy thanks to the free shuttles running along the road, or you can simply rent a bike from the front desk. Just be prepared to pay the park’s entrance fee on your first visit (cash required); afterward, the hotel provides bracelets that allow you to come and go freely each day. One of the best perks of staying inside the park is the peace and quiet…you’re not surrounded by loud music or nearby parties. Quiet hours begin at 10 PM, which suited us perfectly.

Mi Amor Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by how warm, friendly, and genuinely caring the entire staff is. Everyone — from the bartenders to the managers to the housekeeping team — goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. Their kindness isn’t just good service; it’s truly heartfelt. The location is absolutely perfect, tucked along the beautiful Tulum coastline with stunning views and a relaxing, romantic vibe. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, enjoying a cocktail, or heading out to explore, you’re always surrounded by beauty and great energy. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel taken care of, valued, and completely at peace, Mi Amor is the place. I can’t recommend it enough — already looking forward to my next stay! 💙🌴

My spouse and I had the pleasure of staying at Mi Amor for three nights while visiting the Yucatan region in Mexico. This is a gem of a hotel nestled in the brand new Jaguar National Park (El Parque del Jaguar). I can't tell you how wonderfully quiet it was in the park after spending a few days in Mexico City. We had a sea view room with a little balcony that was perfect for our visit with more than plenty of space for our stuff both in the bedroom and bathroom. The A/C worked perfectly, especially against that hot weather in tropical Mexico and the room was adorned with small touches (like live plants) to make the space feel warmer than a sterile hotel room. Housekeeping was top notch, visiting the room twice a day for both cleaning and a turndown service, complete with tea and cookies each night. While the hotel itself is perfectly nice, I really want to talk about the staff. I've stayed in a number of nice hotels over the years, and the staff at Mi Amor has to be in the top ten. They were always attentive when we departed and arrived, ensuring we had whatever we needed for the day. When we needed to leave at 6:30 AM for a tour, they were able to arrange breakfast for us even though the kitchen didn't open until 7:30 AM. On our first day, we had a late afternoon snack in the restaurant and for the remainder of our stay, the staff remembered that my wife needed to be gluten-free, even calling our room once to double check an order that we had placed. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing hotel where you will be well taken care of while in Tulum, this is the place for you.

We had another amazing time at Mi Amor celebrating my wife’s birthday. We stayed at Mi Amor in 2023 and couldn’t wait to return. The staff, like Antonio and German, (to name a few) are amazing — they went above and beyond. The concierge staff are also extremely helpful and very communicative. What blew us away were the details — from night time turn down service and tea to a private mezcal tasting experience we were so impressed. The food is also extremely good and we also went to the sister property, Mezzanine, to take in their Thai food and see the full moon. The property is meticulously maintained and so well kept. The housekeeping staff is also amazing and attentive, and they even warmed up our plunge for us at night. We are making plans to return every year — it’s truly a magical place with phenomenal staff. It was hard to leave today!

My wife and I stayed at Mi Amor for six nights, and we enjoyed our entire stay. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we felt like valued customers. The concierge was always there to answer any questions we had and the servers in the restaurant and bar became familiar faces that we looked forward to seeing each day. We really enjoyed the excellent food and beverage choices that were available and service was outstanding. I was impressed at the level of care this hotel provides to its guests. The staff was always pleasant and everything was always so clean and well maintained. I highly recommend Mi Amor if you are looking for a place to enjoy being catered to and there is beach (beautiful) access and other restaurants within walking distance (Mezzanine hotel has a great restaurant and we also ate at Casa Maria which was located next to Mi Amor).

My partner and I went for my birthday and the staff was incredible! All the food and drinks we had at the resort were amazing. It is on the nature reserve so it is a bit far away from the action so be prepared to pay 30 USD each way to go into town for dinner. We did a couple massage and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend the hotel 10/10. We’ve discussed coming back with friends at a later date. The resort is eco friendly so for American travelers be aware toilet paper is not flushable.

4.5/5 experience . I went with my wife on our 1 year anniversary to tulum and stayed at Mi Amor. This was our first time in tulum and we wanted to do a bit of everything so this review is definitely for you if you haven’t been to Tulum yet and want to stay at Mi Amor. Hotel: The hotel is fantastic. Very beautiful and picturesque. Very small only 20 rooms. The lobby area and pool look exactly how they do in the pictures . There’s nice cabana beds overhanging the ocean that you can use. The 2 ladies at the front are awesome. Answered all the questions I had, called us a safe and reputable taxi when we needed one, and were very welcoming. The hotel is very quiet and you can hear the waves crashing on the cliffs when you sleep. The only reason I gave this a 4.5 is the rooms. The rooms are very clean and have what you need but I think they just need a tiny upgrade. The floors are worn out and the bathroom and shower could use an upgrade. I’m not saying it’s in bad condition at all but based on the price this hotel charges, it would be nice if the rooms were more upgraded and fancy. But again, very clean and nice rooms just not reflective of the price . There’s not really any beach access but their sister hotel down the road 10 minute walk you can use beach access there and highly recommend the beach is super nice there. The restaurant at Mi Amor was decent but not the greatest. They have good simple breakfast but not many dinner options. But what we found is their sister hotel has a way better restaurant. Way more options and even Thai food! We ate there instead. Location: this is what we were most worried about because it’s located in the national park and is a little far from the central area of the hotel zone. But this wasn’t an issue at all unless you want to walk the hotel zone. Getting in and out of the national park was easy, the hotel gives you a park wristband that you can show at the entrance between business hours. When the park is closed they have the national guard there and you have to tell them you are staying at the Mi Amor and then they’ll asked to see your reservation. We just showed them a screenshot of our Expedia reservation and it never gave us any issues. I think we came back around midnight at one point and still no issues. We rented a scooter and this was the best way to go up and down the hotel zone. Taxis were really expensive - 40USD to go one way 10 minutes into the hotel Zone. Overall we loved the location, far enough to be in the jungle and away from all the loud partying. It was about a 15 min scooter ride to the central hotel zone (RosaNegra). The hotel zone strip is extremely safe and full of tourists and day at night. We never felt unsafe. Overall loved this hotel. Would highly recommend and the staff are great. I just think the price needs to be a little lower if the rooms stay in the same condition. But would definitely stay here again.
