Google
We passed several restaurants in San Jose del Cabo in search of the perfect dinner, and finally found this gem. The ambiance is unparalleled, allowing us to sit in a sunken area away from the main square, listening to live music and running water. The food was incredible (get the organic red chicken mole and the lobster tacos), and the service was amazing. Eduardo and Tina took excellent care of us and made great recommendations. I would definitely come back here again!

Better than average for a hotel restaurant. Definitely a nice small venue. Mainly hotel guests so far that I have seen, although we are told that on Art Walk Thursdays that it fill with public patrons. Having done dinner and breakfast (breakfast only for guests) it has been very nice. Only complaint on service is for breakfast when there is just one server for however many guests arrive at the same time, so can be a bit slow. The French Toast was fantastic. I thought I would miss the syrup, but the melting ice cream combined with the fruit and caramelized cinnamon sugar makes syrup quite irrelevant. The Huevos Rancheros was good, but I would more describe it as what I consider a Tostada. The steaks were both beautifully charred while cooked medium and incredibly tender. The Key Lime pie was not as tart as I expected, more like a nice cheese cake. The gram cracker crust and toasted cream/ marshmallow top were very good. The crème brûlée was flavorful, but surprisingly served chilled.

We first visited three years ago and our memory did not disappoint. Mi Cocina is a lovely spot just off the square. Service is great and the food is top-notch. A friend said it was the tastiest mole she has ever had... ever! My son said his steak was better than the one the previous night at an infamous farm restaurant. You won't regret going here

Google
Highly recommend happy hour margaritas! Tina was our server and we loved her, so helpful and kind. The space is stunning! Perfect day sipping margaritas in the sun!

We were back in San Jose del Cabo for the first time in 26 years and this was a wonderful place to reminisce. The atmosphere is wonderful with a nice live band playing softly in the background. Service was great and the food was excellent. We had the steak and the sea bass and it was a really nice meal. I’d definitely highly recommend this place.

Came here with my wife on Thursday (San Jose Art Walk) and had an amazing time. We thought the food and entertainment were awesome. My wife had a glass of Malbec followed by a Mexican wine and I had a mezcal mixed drink. We started with a roasted shrimp Caesar salad which was delicious. For our entrees we had lamb/cheese stuffed chili and a chocolate chicken dish. Both dishes were excellent. We finished with a key lime pie (not as tart as in Florida). The best part of our dining experience was listening to the house band. Oscar and the guitarist were truly amazing. They took American songs and gave them a Latin twist. He played a diverse mix of rumba, cha cha and samba. We would highly recommend this restaurant especially with the live music. We will be back!

Google
Another great little restaurant tucked away in some boutique hotel. The food and atmosphere was splendid. We only had a small lunch, as we were saving room for a delicious steak later that evening, but the tempura shrimp was great! The Apple pie with ice cream was good but not what I was expecting. The filling was basically dry and served cold. Now it wasn't dry in that sense of the word, but it just wasn't juicy like an american apple pie. But overall, it was good. Would definitely go again. And even the hotel was very cute. I would even consider staying there.

Food was incredible, staff were very engaged with doing a good job. Location and atmosphere was lovely.

Yelp
Tina lured us in off the street in her beautiful, Mexican dress and warm smile!! Glad she did as Monday night is a quiet night in San Jose Del Cabo and we ended up having our best meal so far. Nestled within a cute hotel, we both enjoyed Mezcalritas, tempura calamari, risotto with seafood and pasta with seafood, capping it off with a piece of Key Lime pie that I had read about in reviews. Everything was amazing including our server, Francisco. Definitely recommend!!!

Ric P.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. We heard Mi Cocina had great desserts so stopped in after eating at another restaurant. The rumor was true ... I had a key lime pie that was soooooooooo good!!! Apologies for no photo, the pie was almost gone before I realized I hadn't taken a photo.

Yelp
Amazing food and ambiance , it was our anniversary and the staff helped us celebrate in style. We came here last year and came back again this year to celebrate our anniversary with best friends

Jennette F.

Yelp
Awesome shrimp tacos and mushroom tacos along with tasty guacamole and a strong margarita. Perfect way to start our vacation.

Yelp
Come si my friend Edwardo for great service and even better food. We came here to celebrate my mother in laws birthday and mine. Edwardo made sure we had a great time and had the band play happy birthday for us. Gracias mi Lalo

Yelp
This may be the unsung hero in San Jose Del Cabo. The food is delicious and the service rivals any 5 star restaurant here in the states. I was so impressed the first visit, that we went back a second time with our adult kids and it was even better. Eduardo is an amazing hot & server. We let him set the menu on our last visit - 5 courses for 5 of us - simply amazing. If you go to the art walk in the square on a Thursday night - duck in here for dinner. Unique with live music and a very eclectic environment. The food and the people are all to be enjoyed - and I promise - you will!!!

Brian R.

Yelp
Thursday is the art walk, so we assumed they'd be busy and we made a reservation the night before. When we arrived they couldn't find our reservation, they checked with several people and I showed them the confirmation email and eventually they just decided to seat us (party of 2). The restaurants courtyard is beautiful. The location is right on the town square. Unfortunately the prices are in line with major US city pricing, not mexico pricing. The food was hit and miss. My wife had a Jamaica Martini that she liked. They were out of the cheaper domestic beers so I had to pay 3x as much for a mediocre "craft" beer. The smoke salmon appetizer was excellent. The tortilla soup was OK, but not great. The lamb stuffed pepper was no good, I took a couple bites and decided I wasn't that hungry. It was very disappointing because stuffed peppers are my favorite when we come to mexico. The lamb in it was VERY chewy, and it was paired with a tomatillo sauce which does not pair well with an Anaheim chile (would have paired better with a poblano). My wife had the grilled giant prawns. The prawns themselves were delicious, but the risotto it was on top of was way over creamed. We skipped dessert. Only reason it still got 3 stars is because the atmosphere was cool and the price (though expensive) is probably in line with other locations in the immediate vicinity.

Yelp
Incredible, innovative, wonderful food. Arturo severed the best dinner you could ask for.

Luz Stella A.

Yelp
Great place to stay and eat...Tina and David gave us good service and recommendations ...food delicious ..grilled octopus and risotto with clams and baby schrimp... ambiance made the dinner evening special .... Albert & Luz Stella from Long Beach , Ca

Yelp
Whike walking the plaza one day we entered to look inside. friendly staff told us Thursday night there would be live music if we wanted to make a reservation, so glad we did! The food was wonderful, we shared the tempura calamari and they brought bread with a garlic oil to start with our drinks. I had a margarita and my husband had an old fashioned. we ordered the same main course; chef's special tacos, which had shrimp and guacamole with a very light parmesan sauce. As we were celebrating my birthday they surprised me with a large sparkler in a slice of very tasty key lime pie (my fav!) with toasted meringue on top and a sweet graham cracker crust. Our waiter and other staff were responsive and the live music made it even better!

Mark T.

Yelp
Very nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. We did not have the chance to eat as we had just eaten, but the Old Fashioned and Hibiscus Martini were excellent!

Samuel A.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Second time here and will definitely be back. Very convenient to all parts of town.

Augusta S.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this GEM of a restaurant and it was a fabulous culinary experience. The vibes are romantic and inviting, service is on point, and the food is DELICIOUS. We had the chicken mole and the homemade seafood raviolis (which were more like potstickers). Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed.

Kristiine W.

Yelp
We just returned from a trip to San Jose del Cabo. We have eaten here several times over a number of years and we have always had a good experience. The restaurant is outdoors and the setting is dramatic. The food is delicious. I had the seafood risotto and I would order it again. My husband really enjoyed his jumbo shrimp.

Carlos P.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor setting off the main plaza of San Jose del Cabo, with good food and drinks. We enjoyed a tortilla soup, a sea bass dish, and some tasty glasses of wine. We were served by an excellent waiter named Francisco, who spoke Spanish and English fluently. We recommend La Cocina for a special and memorable dinner in San Jose del Cabo.

Colburn R.

Yelp
Very very good and underrated because it never packed. Cozy and amazing. Food service ambiance all worth it. Great place to explore downtown San Jose from. The bar tenders make great craft cocktails. The sea food risotto and the Caesar salad will leave with a smile. I will be taking my family here for our next big family dinner.

Gary D.

Yelp
We've been coming here for almost 10 years. The food is always excellent along with service and some creative drinks. Thank you Edwardo. We will be back!

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
I would not go to this restaurant!! Our Food arrived cold, an hour and 1/2 after placing the order. Service was terrible. Asked for cocktail 3 times before it arrived. The bill was incorrect, an extra drink and main entree were added to our bill.

Pam F.

Yelp
The food was very good. The atmosphere is excellent...fresh air, lovely fire blazing, and nice music in the background. Our waiter Axel (Eduardo) was attentive and there when we needed him. We will definitely go back again.

Brian ..

Yelp
Excellent service by German. The mole was delicious and the chili oil they served with the bread was delicate and exceptional. An overall fantastic experience.

Alice M.

Yelp
We had an amazing meal at Mi Cocina. The seafood was all so fresh and the drinks and desserts were tasty!! Eduardo was an amazing waiter. Can't wait to come back again!

Ashley H.

Yelp
It's the best octopus and risotto ever! We come back to this place every time we go to cabo. German is amazing and the staff is always wonderful!

D P.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service, and wonderful ambience. Our server German was friendly and attentive. We recommend the Mexican Mole and Frutti al Mar. The margaritas are the best that we've had in San Jose

Tanya W.

Yelp
Beautiful setting. We only had cocktails but I loved the atmosphere. The food looks fantastic but we had just eaten.

Tim A.

Yelp
Very inviting and comforting as compared to the big all-inclusive resorts. Great location in San Jose Cabo arts district.

Heather F.

Yelp
Excellent food in such a lovely setting. The bartender will make whatever your heart desires and you can sip it as the band plays. I loved my time at Mi Cocina - highly recommend on Art Walk Thursdays!

Heather M.

Yelp
This place is tucked away on the square but had "some of the best" of certain foods that I've ever had including the Espresso Martini and Key Lime pie. I don't care for Key Lime pie typically but apparently I have never had prepared properly. I had the Argentinean Steak which was beautifully flavored and tender the sides were great I cleaned my plate and forgot to take a pic. My partner and I indulged in many craft cocktails all of which were balanced and delicious. Folx were dressed from causal to more formal but the actual service was more suited towards fine dining. I highly recommend this place and will be back next time we're in San Jose del Cabo.

Kathryn L.

Yelp
What a fabulous spot. The food , ambiance and service was excellent. This is our favorite in san jose del cabo.

Thomas M.

Yelp
We enjoyed our dinner at Mi Covina in San Jose Del Cabo so very much. We had the catch of the day, a beautiful white fish over mashed potatoes with a wonderful sauce and also the tequila shrimp over mushroom risotto, to die for! German, our waiter and his co-staff treated us so very nice. We highly recommend this hidden gem.

Chris B.

Yelp
Great food for the last 25 years. We come back whenever we are in San Jose. Lovely courtyard restaurant.

C F.

Yelp
Mi Cocina food is so fresh and delicious! The service was amazing, Eduardo our waiter was really the best and took great care of us!

Barb G.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in San Jose del Cabo. Superior food, ambience and service. Try the tequila shrimp, Mexican mole, and sea bass. You won't be disappointed. Thank you, German, for your kind and attentive service.

Mike D.

Yelp
Smoked tuna app was one of the best things I've ever eaten . Excellent service as well.

Missy W.

Yelp
Dined for dinner on a Sunday evening. I was really excited to take my friend here after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately the food and service we received didn't seem to be the same as the reviews I had read. We didn't even stay and order a main course. We ordered the Caesar Salad and B.O.B. Spoons to start and we both had a Classic Mojito. The spoons were tasty, but the crab tasted like Crab with a K. The Mojitos had an off taste to them and needed the mint to be muddled or something, just had an off flavor. Lastly, the Caesar Salad also had an off taste and we didn't even finish it. I recommend also serving it with some salad thongs as well for making it easy to serve when sharing. Service was very slow and our server didn't really appear to want to be there. We decided to not order main course because we just didn't feel like the food we had tried was up to par. I may give Mi Cocina another try in the future.

Todd L.

Yelp
Great Food, excellent chef, beautiful architecture. Quiet courtyard off the plaza. Makes you forget about the hussel and bussel of the center of the old city just steps away. Must do for a romantic moment.

Shankar N.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience food coma! Chef Genadis Corrales and the wonderful staff at Mi Cocina made our night a memorable one! We enjoyed the delicious shrimp tempura as a starter and then devoured their famous seafood risotto and wrapped it up with their signature key lime pie! We'll definitely be back again on our next trip to Cabo! A+++

Robin R.

Yelp
A delightful multi-level courtyard bar and foodie's restaurant lying beyond the hotel entrance just off SJdelC's festive main square. Creative cocktails (and any other drinks you'd like) and dishes that are creative, delightful and beautifully presented. There's a comal in one corner, providing live cooking entertainment and guaranteed freshness. Service was attentive and friendly, and overall it was a wonderful dinner for the six of us. I expect you'd find it the same. Thanks Mi Cocina!

James M.

Yelp
Stopped in while walking around the Plaza and had a wonderful experience with Fernando the bartender! He introduced us to Mezcal and gave us a great history of it. Next time we come we're going to stay here!

Mike H.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst food we ate while in Los Cabos. The restaurant itself is nice and the wait staff were efficient and pleasant . But the food is truly poor with a ridiculously broad (from sushi rolls to lamb chops) menu with some weird fusion items that they just couldn't pull off. I had the "Dos Moles' chicken which was a pan fried chicken breast with two (not very nice) mole sauces poured over it next to a spoon of cold rice (for 500 pesos) and my wife had the "fish of the day" which was tasteless and so poorly "sautéed" that it was sort of poached into mush. The only thing that was okay was the Tempura Calamari we had as an appetizer. There are many better choices for simple, good Mexican food in San Jose del Cabo so try one of those rather!

DeAna D.

Yelp
Just left this place. They charged us $27 USD for 2 drinks. Ambience was nice but nothing special. Most we have paid for cocktails in coming to Cabo for 10 years.

Christell S.

Yelp
We loved this restaurant so much that we came here twice. I ordered the mango martini with jalapeño, delicious and refreshing. The food is outstanding! We tried as much as we could and we were never disappointed!

Ashley F.

Yelp
The staff, service and food was absolutely amazing! We had live music and a great atmosphere. We celebrated our honeymoon and they were so attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant. German was an excellent server!

E K.

Yelp
Had an amazing Valentines dinner here earlier this year. Returned for lunch and happy hour before the music festival this evening. Excellent food, service staff friendly and fun to talk with and pick up a few more local words. Definitely a favorite to return to when in San Jose

David S.

Yelp
Fun nice happy hour and dinner place in main plaza square in San Jose del Cabo. Try the BOB spoons!

Yelp
Amazing! The best food we've had in Cabo. Fantastic service, unique drinks, beyond delicious food, chic location. The live music made the night even more special. Thank you Mi Cocina! We highly recommend this place!

Patricia G.

Yelp
Amazing food, drinks and service by our host Luis Cesar! We had the shrimp tacos, smoked tuna salad, vegetable tempura, octopus ceviche, and ahi tuna tostadas.

Yelp
Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff in a wonderful step-down Courtyard atmosphere. Killer Manhattan. Suggest they add Luxardo cherries to their bar inventory. We were a party of 6 and the others raved about their entrees: Chefs Tacos, Sea Bass and Seafood Risotto. I had the Lamb Chops and therein lies the problem. The Haricort Verts were prepared perfectly crisp-tender, pureed chickpeas with cumin overtones were wonderful. The Lamb was cooked medium-rare ( perhaps on the rare side) as I requested but it was so grisly the it was essentially inedible. To the staff's credit it was removed from my bill. A charming restaurant, fit for foodies, and a gem for San Jose. We will be back because I consider the Lamb an anomaly.

Sarah U.

Yelp
Great caring staff in a beautiful location that is very relaxing and quiet. Good food portions and perfectly shaded under the hot sun. Highly recommend if you need a good place to eat while out shopping!!
