Drove down from Denton because the reviews are so good. Expectations were exceeded by miles. Amazingly authentic. Get the Chapulines to start then order anything on the menu, you will not be disappointed. Get mole on the side, it really sets the flavors off! Will be back soon. Edit: It’s permanently closed down 😢

I decided to eat here while visiting Dallas because of the consistently positive reviews calling this a hidden gem in the Dallas area. I was not disappointed. Don't let the modest building and surroundings fool you; this is a great little restaurant. I had the tlayuda, which was big, generously stuffed , and quite tasty. It took a bit of time to get the food ready, but it was worth it. Also, it is not true (as some reviewers have suggested) that the staff don't speak English. While I loved having the opportunity to practice my Spanish, I was able to flip to English when I got stuck. ' Also worth noting: a) the place is cash-only, and b) the parking sign says "Tacos King" or something like that, which can throw you off. The only negative for me is that the place can use some updating.

This restaurant has a very unique household vibe to it. My mother is from Oaxaca, Mexico and she said the beans tasted just like the beans my grandmother made back home. I got subtle hints from the flavors in the food that would take me back to the time I travelled to Oaxaca myself. Great food! 4 stars because they did not have on hand various things they were offering on the menu.

Incredible food! My wife’s family is from Oaxaca, and she loved it. We were told they were going to start accepting credit cards very soon, so come and try the great food! This is the most authentic Mexican food I have had in Texas!

Food Delicious, service is Good, but in urgent need to fix the area upstairs. Lack of ventilation, no restroom, and the stairs covered with carpet made waitress to fell down with dishes. Family atmosphere. I will go back ,but this time i will choose stay downstairs or the patio. Prices are great. Menu interesting. You should try the "chapulines".

Bad service. Not your typical mexican restaurant. Has a strict menu for Oaxaca food only. It was empty when i went. Service was very slow. They dont have any type of vibe. No beers or drinks. Weird place altogether. Good luck to them but def not coming back.

Great authentic food! I loved the coffee, it reminded me of mornings at my grandparents house. I had breakfast there, but I will go back to try the grasshoppers that are offered on the menu. You only live once, lol.
