It was just after the lunch hour, around 1:20, when I went into Mi Sant Roseville, and it was still busy. There was not a parking spot open in the lot immediately surrounding the restaurant, but luckily, that part of Roseville is filled with interconnected parking lots, and I easily found a spot in the next section.
The inside of the space is fine, but has no real ambiance. The outer part of the dining area has big windows, but they just look into the parking lot. It's a fast-casual place, not a place where you sit for an 8 course meal to soak up the vibe.
There seemed to be a long-ish line when I walked in, but then I saw that there were fast lane kiosks available that people weren't using. I didn't know what made them fast-lane, but they seemed to have the entire menu available, and you didn't have to wait to order from a cashier. They were your normal tablet ordering system, and they had all of the modification options available.
I tend to find bahn mi a bit dry, so I always order them with extra pate, and that option was right there, no searching necessary. Despite the people waiting on line, my order was ready in about 5 minutes (way faster than I expected). I ordered the lemongrass chicken bahn mi (with extra pate, of course) to go. The sandwich came out warm and well-wrapped for transport. The chicken was moist and the jalapenos added flavor but were not overwhelming. The bread was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, compressible and not too hard (hard bread on a bahn mi is impossible, IMO)
About $11 for a good sandwich is a good deal to me. A good trick seems to be to order ahead online, and then skip the line altogether (my plan next time).
