One on of the last warmish days of the year, I wanted to hit a patio and MIA Brunch Bar had been on my radar for quite a while. We showed up around lunchtime on a Saturday and the place was surprisingly crowded, although we were able to snag a sweet table on the joint's back patio.
(That back patio, by the way, is fantastic. I'd easily rank it as one of the best patios in the Yonge/Eglinton area, if not the best.)
After considering a bunch of tasty-sounding options, I finally decided to go with the Rise n' Shine Burger ("6.5oz handmade beef patty, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, pickles, sunny side up egg, french fries").
It arrived about 20 minutes later and the presentation was definitely impressive. (The pickles had been shaped like a heart and everything.) But this was not quite the delicious burger I'd been hoping for, ultimately. The various condiments were fine, but the patty was cooked a little too close to well done for my liking (i.e. this was one dry hamburger), and I wasn't crazy about the various spices that had been mixed into the patty.
The fries were tasty, though, and I certainly enjoyed my Brown Derby cocktail.
I think that patio is the big draw for MIA at this point. I will return at some point to try some of their other offerings, to be sure.
