One of my new favorite stores. I had been avoiding this area of town because I feared the parking situation, but it ended up being not so bad, and I was pleased to find this gem on the corner. (Bonus: it’s the same owners as the stationery store next door so you can go between the stores easily through an interior connecting door. They have many Ohio and “Midwest”!” Themed items, including adorable onesies for babies. I bought a lovely lamp here, made by a designer from Ohio. They have a lot of beautiful art items, and artesenal craft items (ceramics and more). A final strong point of this store is the great light, due to the huge windows and corner location. Owners were super friendly and knowledgeable about their stock. I highly recommend you check this place outbid you like beautiful things made in Ohio (and beyond)

I love this shop on the corner of Vine Street in OTR. They have some really unique and nice quality gifts here. The people working behind the counter are always friendly and welcoming. It’s a fun shop to look around or to find a great gift.

I always love stopping by this store when I'm in town. Great selection of cards, fountain pens, Cincy items, etc. The photo is of the owner or employee's dog hanging out behind the register.

Google
saw a ton of cute local art here and even took a photo of a print i really liked and a reminder, but miraculously met the artist the next day and ended up buying from her. it was kismet.

I always love visiting MiCA 12/v! There are always so many beautiful items to look through. I especially love the Midwest Baby design; I think it is so cute!! They have a wonderful selection of linocut prints and Charley Harper pieces. I got a pair of Charley Harper socks here that I love! Their glassware selection is so beautiful and would make the perfect addition to any home. MiCA 12/v is the perfect store to go to if you’re looking for a gift for a friend or even just for yourself!!!

Google
Great selection of gift items from local artists. They also carry Matt and Nat bags that are frequently on sale. I also love the complementary gift wrap and the friendly service from the staff. I will continue to shop here for unique, high quality gifts!

This is a store that feels like family ❤️Was well worth the trip .Gifts to be treasured for years to come .Reminds me of a boutique you would see in Chicago or Ann Arbor .

Google
THIS is why I support small business: I placed an online order to send a gift for my aunt's birthday except there was no estimate of when the item would be in stock again. When I called, the message got passed to the owner, Carolyn. She totally came to the rescue and somehow got the item back in stock and shipped it in record time to arrive on time. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Mike & Carolyn the name's behind MiCa are truly amazing curating the best homemade handcrafted local gifts from a variety of artists in their shop at the corner of 12th & Vine in the heart of Over The Rhine There's no finer store in Cincinnati for amazing gifts for all members of your family, friends, colleagues and business gifts. I've purchased gifts here countless times through the years and still amazed by their selection and service. Mike recently helped me with an important corporate gift providing a variety of gifts which was hard to make a selection. MiCa 12/v is your must stop for gifts year round in Cincinnati!

Yelp
This shop was ok. For my part, I didn't find anything that I had to have (which was an excellent thing for my wallet). They've got lots of space and fill that will all kinds of goodies: Wooden kitchen implements; clocks; decorative ceramics; items for children; photo frames; bags; and so on. It isn't a shop I would HAVE to stop at if I was in Cincinnati, but if I was in the neighborhood I'd wander around here just in case something caught my eye. In particular, if I was searching for a gift for someone this would not be a bad place to shopping for one.

Yelp
As if I didn't love this store already, I had the BEST experience there yesterday and I have to write a review of the outstanding customer service and the interaction I had with the owner. First and foremost, MiCA 12/v is known to support lots of local and independent artists and has an incredibly cool vibe. I always find something that catches my eye and is swoon worthy. So, I went in to pick up some Christmas ornaments for myself and I dropped one and it shattered. Think about that loud crash you hear from the kitchen in a quiet restaurant. I was so embarassed and it made an huge mess.... Well, the woman working (I didn't get her name) was so kind and so gracious and put me at ease and I'm forever grateful because I felt like such a klutz. In a shop with so many delicate and beautiful items, I just wanted to bury my head and slink out while she was vacuuming ... but, seriously, she was very sweet and I went ahead and made my purchases without any other disasters. Then, I happened to notice the floor in the middle of the shop has a kind of resin to even out the splintered wood. The owner (I believe) was very friendly and explained to me how he repaired the wood and how to go about it doing the same to my hardwood floors at home. This shop is such a local highlight and it makes OTR one of the most vibrant and interesting places to visit in Cincinnati. Thank you, MiCA 12/v not only being a cool place to find unique gifts but also a place that makes people feel comfortable and welcome.

Yelp
Love this shop! Perfect local biz to grab one of a kind gifts. Cincinnati themes and not! Cute corner shop in OTR that packs a punch. This is a fun window shopping spot too! There's so much to look at, it's safe to say it'll be hard to actually see it all in one trip (so much you could miss!)! Prices can be slightly higher but it's a boutique shop- to be expected. Please consider stopping by here during the holiday season! Cute gifts!

Yelp
I will never be rich, because if I ever have a bunch of money I will spend it all at MiCA 12/V. First mistake: I cannot pass this place without going in. Second mistake: I cannot control my spending habits in this store. Third mistake: I am a sucker for quirky/ locally made items: both of which are characteristics of the items they carry here. ...and the list goes on. For my OSU-obsessed cousin: I found Ohio-shaped rubbery earrings. For my oddball orthopedic surgeon friend: a card with a femoral head that says, "hipster." For my mother: an abominable snowman ornament. For my friend who goes on a lot of internet dates: a shot glass that says, "BE ON YOUR WAY." Maybe I am easily amused or just spot on for MiCA 12/v's target audience but I love it. My sweet sweet OTR gem... take my money.

Yelp
Oh my! I happened upon this gift shop after eating out in OTR. This store will make you want to stop in and literally linger over every item they carry - soap, art, purses, baby items, kitchenware, etc. Too many to mention . You just have to see for yourself. Their inventory is filled with interesting, unique, quality items that are made locally. Besides the merchandise, the people who work their are super friendly and helpful. I also love the fact that it is an independently owned business. It just feels good to be in there and will definitely be a place that I return to over and over again.

Yelp
Like everyone else, I wonder how I've not written this review before. I always stop here while in OTR. Beautiful and some handmade items. I've bought many gifts here. Can't wait for my next baby shower so I can buy that gift here too...softest blankets and bibs ever! Just keep it up, and I'll keep coming.

Yelp
How is a place that is so tiny also so awesome? My Michelle Obama nightlight (a gift from Kasen M) is from here. I love that they are suppliers of my need for Obama-related art. That nightlight will guide me through the Trump years into better days. They have a wide selection of quality items from greeting cards to home goods to purses. They also feature Cincinnati gifts and postcards that are a little bit nicer than other places. The staff is also super helpful and we all like that. I love leaving my money here.

Yelp
MiCA 12/v on 12th & Vine in the Over the Rhine neighborhood is truly a diamond in the rough. That rough is the mindful reappropriation of Italianate architecture as businesses and social services serve a Historic Cincinnati neighborhood now in transition. The architecture of nearby businesses yet to be filled was beautiful, but obviously run down. MiCA is one of the ground floor businesses in the district that the non-profit 3CDC has ambitious plans to revive. How do I know all of this? The incredibly knowledgeable MiCA Staff, Mike, gave us a history lesson of the area, going back to the 60's to the present! Seriously! MiCA carries art-inspired everyday living items such as Marimekko handbags and tableware from Finland...if I had a special lady friend, she'd definitely be getting one of these colorful bags for her birthday. There are also cute one-of-a-kind t-shirts and handmade cards. In addition, they carry art prints and photography for under $200. Not only were we given a history lesson about the Over the Rhine neighborhood (named for Germans that first settled there), we were given info on the artists we admired (Camille Cier, www.ThreeSheets2.com). So get hip! It's all happening on 12th & Vine at MiCA 12/v.

Yelp
As one of my favorite shops in the city, I always come here for gifts to send to family and friends (and myself). There is basically something for everyone. From a miniature handmade pocket knife I once picked up for my boyfriend, to the wooden magnetic block spaceship I got for a 1 year old there is literally something for everyone. There is also a large selection of Matt & Nat bags. These are the vegan leather pieces that are perfect for everything from work bags to a night out on the town crossbody. Everything in there is unique and you can find a lot of Cincinnati themed decor. I love picking odd dishes for my kitchen. Stop by you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
MiCA 12/v is one of those stores that you can get lost in. Around every corner, bin and table is a new collection of handmade, locally-made goodness -- not to mention enough Cincinnati stickers, Cincinnati posters, Cincinnati jewelry and Cincinnati T-shirts to make any visitor drip with Cincy pride. (A few Kentucky items were also mixed in, which made me even happier.) It's like your own little Etsy heaven.

Yelp
I stopped by for a Final Friday wine tasting event. Previously, I had just perused through glass. I wasn't entirely sure what to make of it before stepping in, but it was intriguing. It has an eclectic mix of mass produced commercial items, mid-level production items, and truly artisan-crafted, unique pieces. There is a fun mix of colors, shapes and textures as well as items. Most people can find at least one thing here to start them thinking about their own home or a gift for a friend. My favorite part is the support for local artists and the variety. Pricing ranges quite a bit, so I found things that are very reasonable, and a few items I felt might be a little high. Overall, a great store in a fun location, with a welcoming vibe. I don't think you'll regret stopping in, even if you don't walk out with bag.

Yelp
One of the best places for local Cincinnati items. I could easily spend some serious money on the art, homegoods, and clothes that adorn this corner shop right in the heart of OTR. I spoke with the worker and she mentioned that about 60% of the items in the store are locally made or sourced. How cool is that? I strongly recommend shopping here and bringing our of town friends to support the local economy and artists/craftspeople. From unique and quirky to the useful and beautiful, MiCA 12/v is a great place to shop! And yeah! I finally made it to 1K reviews. Here's to many more!

Lani H.

Yelp
This shop I tell you is amazing for gift giving during the Christmas season or any season. There is an authentic feel to this store because of the owner's choice of having crafts in the store made by local artists. All the crafts were interesting to look at and touch.

Yelp
Mica (as I typically refer to the place, though I'd like to know the origin of the 12/v is since I often leave it off), is charming, quaint, and what a small business should be. The selection of gifts, goods, housewares, and clothing is unique and diverse. Much of it is local or handmade. Overall, it's a bit on the spendy side, but good for a meaningful gift that has a place in someone's life rather than adding to piles of crap accumulated in the same name of showing interest, care, or support. I think it's the storeowner and those who work there really make the experience so enjoyable. Shopping there at Christmas was awesome because they gift wrap and it's gorgeous (I suck at wrapping and can't stand to try too hard); I think they actually wrap year round, but I usually buy for me when it's not the holiday season. Regardless of whether or not I ultimately buy something, they are talkative (if you engage them vs. talking your ear off unsolicited), interested in your search, and willing to offer suggestions if you can't quite find what you're looking for there. They seem to feel comfortable in their urban network of neighbors and their local pride is evident in their attitudes and offerings. I don't have kids, but their kids section is adorable and I frequently have to restrain myself from the cute toys, room decor, and clothing. The artwork on the wall is often new, giving me a reason to go in, and their adult clothes quirky in just the right way. If you're looking for a something unique or an updated piece for your own home or life, I'd recommend this place without hesitation. If you're looking for a gift, at the very least get started, inspired, and hopefully become successful in finding what you're looking for here. You may even find a gift for you, you know, for all your hard work. ;)

Yelp
As the counterpart to Mica Contemporary Craft in O'Bryonville, this store has some of the same wares, but also keeps a different and unique collection. They've got various housewares, vases, rugs, home decor, green products, and clothing. My favorite items that I saw were these fully recycled planners that had really neat designs and these wallets made out of recycled cardboard with cute designs. There are some gems and things tucked into corners and you really have to spend time looking through stuff to find the really cool things!

Yelp
Loved this little shop. There were gifts for everyone from babies to kids to men and women. Got a really cute homemade coin purse and would have bought more but my hubby was rushing me lol It is in a cute part of town and we enjoyed to stroll over to the shop as well
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fantastic representation of what Cincinnati has to offer in the OTR area. Anyone, especially out of town guest coming to OTR to have lunch, dinner or just hang out should stop in here and pick up something for themselves or a gift for someone else. There are cute items for kids and adults alike! On my last stop in with some friends we got a purse, a couple of votive candle vases and an adorable clock for a baby room. You can even do a wedding registry here for those Cincinnati loving couples. I am considering it for myself!
google avatar

Yelp
How have I not written a review for MiCA 12/v? Seriously one of my favorite (if not my favorite) local businesses in the city. MiCA is the perfect one stop shop for unique gifts. They have a variety of gifts that are very affordable from coasters, posters and jewelry to really incredible statement pieces from local artists, and even some furniture. I feel like what sets this shop apart from others is that it is almost a curated experience. As you walk from the front of the shop to the back and around to the side, every section tells a story. Everything in the shop is also very organized with the prices right on the items. Whether your looking for a local Ohio t-shirt, a framed poster of OTR, or a beautiful piece of handmade jewelry -- this is your place.
google avatar

Yelp
Mica is really growing on me and I've come to adore this shop. It is now my go-to place for gifts and to treat myself. My most recent visit to Mica was to buy a Christmas gift. I went in to buy something that I had seen hanging in the window, but wound up with 3 other gifts as well - thanks to the super friendly and helpful staff. The store has the most beautiful home accessories and jewelry. Everything is very unique, but the pricing is modest, compared to what I expected. The lady who rang me up also gift wrapped my purchases - a nice touch!
google avatar

Bea D.

Yelp
I was awestruck upon walking into MiCA 12/v. Many of their products are produced by local artists. The staff has very good knowledge of the artists and the pieces. I swear I looked at every piece in this store - twice! So beautiful. So unique. I wanted to buy so many things, but I suppose I will give the pleasure of MiCA 12/v to friends and family as gifts. I love that they are able to display some larger pieces from local artists, not just palm size objects. Here you will find everything from furniture to tiny earrings. There is something for everyone in every price range. Thank you MiCA 12/v for supporting local artists. In turn we will support you.
google avatar

Linsey K.

Yelp
MiCA12/v is one of my favorite spots to buy local goods for gifts. Although it can be a bit on the pricey side, from framed prints to t-shirts to coasters to "Drink Local" pint glasses, there are more than enough items to satisfy your gift-giving needs. Customer service is great; the workers are all very personable and friendly; its proximity is great for parking (whether lot, street, or garage), eating a good meal before or after, or a quick trip to/from Washington Park.
google avatar

CJ H.

Yelp
I spotted this store while riding on the Connector. Wow, so glad I jumped off and stopped in. There is such a variety of items, but not in an overwhelming way. Great price point and the staff is helpful and will gift wrap.
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
Whenever I am really stumped on a gift, and there's no time to shop on Etsy, I go to MiCA12/v. The store is the perfect size - plenty to look at without being overwhelming. Mike and Carolyn have excellent taste in choosing what MiCA is stocked with - nothing looks out of place, and you can tell each item is of high quality. On top of that, you can always feel good shopping there knowing that the items are handmade and unique. If you're a Cincinnati native and haven't been to MiCA yet, you need to get there ASAP. If you aren't native, treat yourself to a very nice shopping experience at a lovely, local boutique.
google avatar

Christopher D.

Yelp
I walk by this store nearly every day and I finally decided to stop in and see exactly what MiCA is all about. I'm glad I stopped by, because this is quite a perfect little spot to pick up some unique housewares and decoration items. The majority of items on sale have little tags around them explaining who made the item (many are by local artisans). It's incredibly cool to see DAAP students' projects on display and for sale. The prices are a bit on the higher end, but you're getting handcrafted items from people in the area. They had some very neat wine/bar accessories (I'm a wine nerd), some very nice polished wood inlayed wine keys, wine glasses, tags and neat bottle openers that I will probably come back for and get for some of my bartending buddies. If you're looking for something different and unique either for yourself or as a gift you cannot go wrong with MiCA 12/v.
google avatar

Miranda H.

Yelp
I don't know how I have never reviewed MiCA. Maybe because I take it for granted. Which is horrible. But when I need a last minute gift or something cool for my house (or me), I head to MiCA. Their selection is always amazingly cooler than me and the staff are the friendliest in OTR. I always use MiCA for baby and wedding gifts. They gift wrap!!! It's literally full service.
google avatar

Daniel H.

Yelp
Love stopping in this store whenever I visit. I really enjoy seeing the local art and all of the neat handmade gifts.
google avatar

Jeanmarie H.

Yelp
Ok it's better to shop local, support small businesses and artists however it takes more than good intentions. This is where Mica comes in and successfully. Husband and wife team up to give locals AND visitors a place to shop for lovely, funky not found in mall treats and gifts. They are spot on for trends but not run of the mill, you can buy local art work and jewelry plus get an Ohio onesie? That you can get too. This is local done right! And they'll wrap for free
google avatar

Yelp
MiCA 12/v opened on Vine St. in fall 2007. It is the second store for the owners of MiCA in O'Bryonville. Both stores stock a wonderful selection of home goods and accessories, plus some art, apparel, and small gift items. The selection in each changes frequently, and each store stocks slightly different goods. MiCA 12/v tends toward smaller items, more apartment sized home accessories, and a selection of unique goods by local artists and designers, including printed canvases by Three Sheets 2 the Wind, t-shirts by Wire & Twine, and coasters and prints by VisuaLingual. There's a great selection of tea towels, plates, glasses, vases, and table linens, many only found locally at this store. One thing I love about MiCA 12/v is its emphasis on customer service and education. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about its stock and happy to procure items from its O'Bryonville store and also allow customers a try-before-you-buy option for its larger items like Angela Adams rugs.
google avatar

Bridgett R.

Yelp
I've been to Mica 12V many times and always find something I can't live without. They have a great selection of items for your home, jewelry pieces, clothing,... they even have a section for wee ones (clothing and decor too). The owners are incredibly nice. This is the kind of business I love to support. Love it!
google avatar

Leisa W.

Yelp
Wow, this is a really great store. Would be fun to browse for anyone, but the especially great part of this store are the locally-made items. Art, clothing, rugs, dishes, jewelry--all kinds of stuff made in Cincinnati, or at least Ohio. The owner is knowledgeable about every item and super-friendly. The only thing that stops this store from being five stars is that I'm cheap. And these items aren't. Yes, you pay more for quality and items not mass produced by children in foreign countries, and it's worth it. Most things in there are just a bit out of my price range at the moment.
google avatar

Tamara S.

Yelp
I was a long time shopper of MiCA contemporary craft in O'bryonville and was excited when they decided to expand to OTR. This shop has been the perfect addition to OTR/Gateway quarter. The store is always filled with unique items from both local and regional artists. Through the years, this MiCA has been my go to place in Cincinnati for gifts. I find the pricing to be fair given the quality of the products they are selling. Some items are pricier than other but still a good mix of price points. I especially like that many of the items they sell are not found elsewhere in Cincinnati. I know when I give a gift purchased at MiCA there is very little likelihood that someone else has purchased the same item. There is also a good bit of whimsy in the items they source and that comes through both in their baby line, tee-shirts and cards. It's not uncommon to find recent work from students of UC's DAAP program. Both Carolyn and Mike as are engaging conversationalists and I love getting gift suggestions from them or finding out what's happening in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
I've always loved this shop! It's filled with locally made jewelry, purses, clothing and pottery. Not to mention countless other little treasures. A lot of the products are Cincinnati or OH themed, which I certainly enjoy! There is a also a section of the store devoted to adorable children's stuffed animals, wooden puzzles and little puppets!
google avatar

Yelp
LOVE this gem of a store in OTR. Whenever I have time to kill before meeting friends for dinner/drinks, I always pop in here and inevitably leave with a nice necklace, funky notebook, or something else fun. I love the Danish Modern inspired funishings, Etsy-like handicrafts and unique jewelry. If you're looking for local Cincinnati stuff (t-shirts, crafts, etc) they carry a lot by local artists.
google avatar

Maddie R.

Yelp
Love, Love, Love!! Whenever I'm in Cincy I stop by MiCA and pick up some new jewelry. They always have new pieces from great artists around the country. Speaking of artists, they have unique, fun items from local artists for the home (i.e. lighting, clocks, tableware) or to give as gifts (i.e. flasks, tees, cards). I would love anything from MiCA! There are also really sweet items for babies that are organic and beautiful, appearing handmade. (I have seen some of these brands at chic baby boutiques in Austin.) Yea MiCA and Yea Cincy!!
google avatar

Will H.

Yelp
Awesome modern wares and local handmade crafts. The proprietor is super friendly and willing to talk about the artists and the items at hand. Its definitely at boutique level prices but there are solid values on local art and modern decor.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
Awesome little shop. Definitely stop in if you are in the Gateway Quarter. Staff is friendly and the items are amazing!
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
This local shop on the corner across from Taste of Belgium offers one of a kind, locally made art and gifts. Every time I am down in OTR I make a point to stop in and like Emily H. said, get lost in all the cool things they have for sale. If you are looking for a unique Cincinnati gift, or a print to hang up showing our hometown pride, this is the place!! Every time you go there is always something new to look at, though that doest come cheap. The average print I framed runs $50 to $100, with other local goods going beyond that. Check it out and you'll at the very least have fun finding something unexpected you'll fall in love with.

Yelp
The gf wanted to stop by after our Saturday breakfast. We had walked by in the evening after having dinner on another occassion. We poked around and saw lots of arts and crafts (jewelry, home decorations, pictures, ornaments, and way more!). The staff was friendly and helpful and seemed very proud to be a part of the local scene. That was very uplifting and made the day of shopping that much better. I ended up getting the gf an ornament she had scoped out previously and some earings for my sister's birthday. About 40% of the items in the store are from local artists and the others are either handmade by the artist or in a very limited run so there are many unique items to look through. The store hours seem to be very broad so there's a good chance they'll be open when you're in the area so swing by and check it out.

Yelp
Poor customer service in regards to online orders. I purchased a wallet over 3 weeks ago and it didn't arrive because my shipping address was wrong. Because USPS deemed it undeliverable it was sent back to MiCA. I used the online contact form to let them know what was going on with the shipment and got no response - that was 10 days after I ordered. So I called the store and left a message with an employee to pass off to the owner about the issues 14 days after I ordered - no response. The least they could do was call me to let me know that they're trying to work it out. I've now sent the owner a direct email regarding the issue. Hopefully I get some response, but this will be the first and only time I order from MiCA.

Interesting store with a lot of pretty, unique items merchandised in an aesthetically pleasing way. Many of the items were Cincinnati or Ohio-themed, but not in a kitschy way.

Yelp
Went here on a recommendation for a great place to get a V-Day card for my fiance´. The card's are hand made and they are such a great accompanying gift. The selection this store offers is great. I know they have a lot of other unique gifts, and now I know where I am going to go when buying small trinkets for my family, friends, and coworkers.

Yelp
MiCA 12v is one of my favorite stores in Cincinnati. Every time I come here I find something beautiful for myself or a friend. Everything here is locally made and there is a variety of items, from baby clothes, to jewelry, to home lighting. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful, and if you are looking for a particular item that is out of stock, they will email you when it is back in stock. The store is pretty pricey, so I normally only buy things here as gifts or for special occasions. They do have pretty affordable items, like their jewelry or their t-shirts. Overall, this store is a great stop on Vine Street the next time you're waiting for your table at your favorite OTR restaurant.

Yelp
I love this little store so much. It has a ton of cool local things including art, apparel, glassware, bags, and other assorted trinkets. If ever I'm waiting to go eat or have a little time to kill, I go into this shop and have a look around. They also sell local tshirts at a competitively cheaper price than a place like Homage. I got a baseball shirt there for $7 less than anywhere else in OTR.
