I recently visited this Michael’s location to return an item I purchased just two days prior. Before coming in, I checked the store’s return policy online, which stated that a return could be processed without a receipt as long as I provided a valid ID and the card used for the purchase.
When I arrived, the staff member asked if I had the receipt, to which I replied no. She then asked if I had a rewards account, which I also didn’t have. However, I came prepared with the purchase details from Apple Pay, showing the date, amount, and store location.
When she tried to process the return, the system showed a refund of $17, even though I had paid $22. I showed her the proof, but instead of helping, she became rude and insisted I must have bought something else, even though I clearly explained that I had only purchased the one item. She mentioned a 30% discount that supposedly applied if I had bought something else, but again, that was not the case.
In the end, I only received $19 back on my card, which is better than nothing, but the entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating. The employee’s attitude and unwillingness to assist made the situation worse. I won’t be returning to this Michael’s location again due to the unhelpful staff and poor customer service.
