"The selection of beers in this artisanal spot is unbeatable, ranging from Icelandic brews like the local Kaldi (available on draft) to international classics such as Tactical Nuclear Penguin from Scotland. The bottled beers are supplemented by up to 10 beers on tap, all served in a welcoming interior with simple wooden chairs and tables and white walls adorned with murals by dark-humored Icelandic cartoonist Hugleikur Dagsson. If you’re not sure what to order, plump for a tasting tray or try a Gæðingur, a beer made by the owners of the bar in their small northern Iceland brewery."

A cozy, dog friendly spot for beer lovers and a great place to sample Iceland’s growing craft beer scene. Tucked away in the city center, it has a laid-back, slightly quirky atmosphere that makes it feel welcoming whether you’re dropping in alone, with friends, or before heading out for the night. The highlight here is the selection. They offer a rotating lineup of Icelandic craft beers alongside international brews, and the tasting flights are especially popular if you want to try several styles without committing to a full pint. Staff are generally knowledgeable and happy to recommend beers based on your taste, which makes it approachable even if you’re new to craft beer. Prices, as expected in Iceland, are on the higher side, but that’s the norm everywhere in Reykjavík. What you get in return is variety and the chance to try local brews that can be hard to find elsewhere. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, with enough character to keep it interesting without feeling too busy or overwhelming. The space itself is on the smaller side, so it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or evenings when beer enthusiasts flock here. Seating can be limited, so arriving earlier is a good idea if you want a table. Overall, Micro Bar is a solid choice for anyone curious about Icelandic beer culture. It’s not the cheapest night out, but the variety, relaxed vibe, and central location make it one of the better spots in Reykjavík for a drink that feels both local and memorable.

A cosy little bar in the centre of Reykjavík — perfect if you enjoy trying different beers. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with a good mix of locals and travellers. The beer selection is excellent, especially the local Icelandic craft beers on tap. The staff were welcoming and happy to give recommendations, which made choosing much easier. It’s a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring the city. Would happily come back for another tasting flight! 🍻

Nice little tap room on the main street, good selection of beers inc IPA’s, NIPA’s, Pales, Stouts, Sours etc. Barman very help recommending beers to my tastes. Quite expensive even for Iceland, £28 for 5 x 1/3 pint flights, nice beer though.

Well worth a visit, in Rekiyvik. Doesn't look much from outside. But welcoming cozy. Great choice of ales. The porter was to die for. The session IPA initially wasn't my bag but as the glass went down it got better and better. Excellent Session ale.

I enjoyed a hazy as well as a stout here. The beer was well done and hit the spot! The atmosphere was great too. Seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. It's close enough to the town center to be convenient but just a couple blocks off the center so that it isn't overrun. The bartender did a great job welcoming people...with just enough attitude to make me like her style.

Friendly little bar that had 14 beers on the go when we visited in a range of styles from lactose sours, lagers, stouts and NEIPAs. There's also a good selection of spirits, but the beer was excellent, so we stuck to that. The barman was happy to let us try the beers first, so when we found a number we liked, we had to stay to properly drink them all.

Heir to the original taproom of the city's Gædingur brewery, which helped to break the mould of an Icelandic beer scene dominated by two national breweries. All the usual beer styles with knobs on but also some very solid stouts and a decent IPA. A plain room at the out-of-town end of the main food and drink street.
