Attempted to stay at Microtel Louisville East on May 23, 2025. By far the worst hotel attempt I have ever had! We were in and out within five minutes. The area in general did not feel the safest. People were grilling in the parking lot at 10:30 PM. While checking in random people were coming in the back door to use the bathroom and leaving. None of the hotel doors were locked, so people can walk in at any time. The carpet is stained. It doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in decades. Drinking fountains torn apart. Washing machine and dryer in piece is not working. The smell was horrendous! The elevator was very glitchy, we got off immediately because I was afraid we would get stuck. So we had to walk up to the top floor, three flights of stairs. The bedroom was filthy! Dust bunnies everywhere, hanging off of decor above the bed. Discolored sheets. The phone was too disgusting to even consider touching! And the AC vent by the window had chunks of dirt inside of it. I am still trying to make contact with customer service to get a refund for this. Please do not take your children here! I don’t think I would’ve even stayed here by myself for a quick nap. The hotel clerk has clearly had complaints before. She did not even question why I was checking out immediately after check-in.

I had an utterly deplorable stay at this hotel. The room reeked of musty odors and cigarette smoke, despite being labeled non-smoking. You smell nothing but weed there. The mattress was a nightmare— lumpy, sagging, and impossible to sleep on. None of the light switches worked. The closet doors were completely ripped out, exposing a shabby interior. Worst of all, the bathroom was a health hazard, with visible mold creeping along the shower. This place is an absolute disgrace, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Save your money and stay elsewhere!

Google
The place is older and in need of repair. That said, there is no excuse for dirty rooms. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept, mopped or vacuumed in a while. The walls were even dirty. On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfortable and I didn't see any bugs.

Google
Deceiving reviews! More of a local trap house than a stop for the night for a weary traveler. Hallways that reek of marijuana and cigarette smoke, and lots of sketchy people hanging about. The small room was mostly clean, and that’s probably the only semi good thing I can say about this place, besides the girl at the front desk in the evening was hospitable and very nice. Burns in the furniture, burns in the floor. Heating/AC units have to be at least 20 years old with no update, the heat in my room blew cold air all night and made the 35 degree morning air feel like a summer day. Coffee was awful, and breakfast left me wishing I had stopped at a gas station convenience store instead. To top it all off my room was accessed while I was still sleeping at 8:30am, by who I am not sure but the door did open. Thankfully I had used the security lock. Do not recommend for solo women travelers.

Google
i had an amazing time i felt extremely safe. the room was very clean and sanitary. i left for a moment to go out and when i came back, my room was nicely cleaned and my personal belongings were not touched. i will definitely be staying here again. THANK YOU💖

Google
You get what you pay for I guess. The room I got was not bad. It was decent. The room had a mini refrigerator. The breakfast is what sucked. there were no coffee creamers for the coffee. The coffee was not hot at all and had no taste. There was cereal but there was no milk. I went to breakfast at 820am. There were four sausages left, a whole lot of biscuits and no gravy. No fruits, no juice. It was disappointing.

Google
This is the 4th time we have stayed. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Google
Never again! The plus to this hotel was to be able to charge an electric car. When doing so, the manager took it upon himself to unplug my car when charging and charge his own. My charging port in my car no longer works correctly since then and I have had to cont at corporate because of it! The hotel needs uograded bad and I would not recommend or stay here ever again!

Yelp
A very well maintained establishment. I was in late and out early. Bathroom was clean good hot water pressure.

Yelp
Pretty terrible. Hotel seemed much nicer when booking on the app. Stains and hair on the beds. Stains on the walls and windows. Might be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very expensive too compared to what you get. Stayed at a La Qunita for a fraction of the price on the first leg of my trip in Alabama and it was 100x nicer. Highly reccomend spending a little more to go somewhere nicer.

Yelp
whatever you do, do not stay here.. read reviews and you'll understand. Dangerous place with double sided mirrors in rooms!! I reported them to the authorities in 2018.

Yelp
In July 2016 had just checked in and went into my room. when I walked past my bed only to have something hit my ankle, breaking it. Looked to see a metal hook of some kind sticking out from the bed frame. Five years, 2 surgeries, 3 physical therapies lasting 2-3 months each ,& 3 blood clot hospitalizations ( never had any clot problems before 1st ankle surgery) later, I did an online search to find out the company Kodali Enterprises LLC, US not based in U.S., but is in England or somewhere & according to online info, has a net worth around $ 240, 000 dollars or 250,000 euros. Pls check it out yourselves. Meanwhile their lawyer for almost two years offer was $25,000 so I say to you: BEWARE of this hotel. If you get hurt or have problems while there, do not say I did not warn you!

Yelp
It's ok for the price - tiny room and small living space. Has a tub and is pretty clean for the most part. The lobby is dingy and looks like it's a hotel out of a dreary movie. Some pluses are their free breakfast (not hot with eggs, waffles but moreso bagels and cereal). Price point was right for the queen sized room I stayed in - definitely don't feel like I got any kind of bargain.

Mickie W.

Yelp
Room had fire / smoke detector hanging from ceiling by a wire, no idea if it works. Room was clean enough, but had 2 empty rolls of toilet paper and no spare. Their "breakfast" was an adventure. It appears they keep using the same biscuits, gravy, and sausage links until they're all gone. Don't worry about them drying out as they're kept cold or at room temperature. Coffee, hope you don't like creamer! Want a coffee cup, the ones they use are not insulated and lids are not available. The coffee was hot as it comes from a machine designed to dispense it. The rest of the breakfast items were pretty sparse. This hotel used to be pretty nice, but they've let it run down and not modernized, so do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere I know we will.

Yelp
Since clearly I didn't plan my KY Derby trip well in advance, all downtown Louisville hotels were booked by the time we got our act together. All good. Microtel Inn was a solid option. The staff is so friendly, nice and accommodating; they even had Derby coasters for us as a little take away present. Awww. The place is budget, kind of smells of smoke but, the bed was comfy, it was clean and there was roof over our head. We didn't spend much time in the room so, all good. This little motel is located about 20 minutes to downtown Louisville, so by no means is it convenient. Overall, a solid spot to stay if you're looking to not spend a lot of money. *** For Derby goers - this place had a private shuttle number and for $10 pp per ride they were pretty much on call and drove you where ever you needed to go. It was perfect. We used the guys all weekend and had the best time ever. *** a 5 minute walk to a 24 hour not so delicious Waffle House.

Yelp
Site unseen hotels are always scary as you never know what you will encounter. The Picts on their websites look good but when you get there....not so much! This place is not like that. I was in town for just a quick one night visit and needed something cheap to stay in. Unsure of what I would encounter. This hotel is nestled in a quiet location with a few others. It looks a little run down when you pull in the parking lot but when you walk inside you are surprised at the cleanliness. Checking in was friendly and easy. The hotel smelled good and clean. My room was the double. It was small and cozy. Clean and well kept. The sheets are fresh, and clean smelling. The bed was comfy. Continental breakfast is small however they do have Eggs, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, assorted breads, muffins, cereal. And of course juice and coffee. I would absolutely stay here again if I'm the area.

Yelp
Clean! We were afraid to travel in the pandemic but we were totally pleased with the room and the stay. Beds were super comfy and all those pillows are my favorite! Breakfast was good and hot and the help was suoer kind! This chain will be my go to!

Jennie H.

Yelp
It was the worst experience I have had at a hotel. It really deserves zero stars. Someone opened our first floor window and tried to come in. Not to mention you could hear everything from everywhere. I just hope we are compensated someway for the horrible stay.

Yelp
Everything about microtell is "micro". Tiny room. Tiny storage. Tiny breakfast. But rooms were clean. Service ok
google avatar

Yelp
This hotel canceled my booking on me with no reasoning etc. I just received a notice that said they were canceling my stay and could no longer accommodate. Dont stay here if you dont want your plans canceled on you! Such terrible customer service!

Yelp
Very Reasonably priced hotel. Rooms are very small yet well-kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful I would definitely recommend. It is, however, setting about 10 miles outside of Louisville. When we booked it on hotels.com it indicated we were much closer. Still a great place

Yelp
Stayed for one night while doing work in the area. Great location with lots of places to eat close by. Check in was fast and easy and price was reasonable especially since it was a Friday night. We weren't given directions to where the room was but you can easily get to any room from either door, it wasn't hard to figure out. Room was very clean, small compared to other places we've stayed, but it was fine. The blow dryer had hair stuck in the back of it though, I didn't use it because of that. That was a little nasty but I understand how it can be looked over. No fridge or microwave which was upsetting when we had to throw our leftovers away :( Also, there's only one ice machine and it's in the middle of the lobby. I figured this out after I searched at the end of each side of the hall on the second floor. Was just very different setup than any other hotel I've stayed at. Continental breakfast was included but we slept in instead. Overall good little place for a one night stay.

Yelp
We read some reviews before picking this hotel and decided it would do. We were simply looking for a place to lay our heads as we passed through on our way from Wisconsin to Tennessee. The front desk attendant was friendly, check in was decently quick, our room was okay. It was clean but what you would expect for $80 a night. Nothing extra, nothing more, just a place to sleep for us that didnt disgust us. We slept and got up and and out of there pretty quick. We glanced and continental breakfast and decided we would pass. We did try the coffee though, and it was quite burnt and we all decided to dump it. All in all if you need a cheap place to stay-this works!

Caleb S.

Yelp
We checked in late at night and was greeted by a not so friendly front desk staff. It was a single individual that checked us in and was not very helpful at all. She didn't even tell us where our room was, she just pointed. It smelt like cigarettes although it's a no smoke policy. I asked for extra pillows to which she said she couldn't find any. Not a very welcoming place but I'm sure the surrounding hotels would be much better. We booked the room for the price but I guess you get what you pay for.

Yelp
One must read this review with the mindset that we are reviewing this location knowing that this is a 2 Star rated Hotel. So with that in mind, this was the best 2 star hotel that I have stayed at Yes, the room was musky and the walls are thin, but that is why it is rated 2 stars! This is a good location, inexpensive, a non-smoking hotel, and it is clean. The breakfast was more than adequate.

Yelp
December 23, 2015. Clean, cheap and the beds were great. The rooms are small..."micro" tel, get it? There is no ironing board or iron, no microwave, no fridge, no coffee pot, but it comes with the basics like soap, towels, phone, a flat screen tv and a nice window ledge lounge area in which to relax. You also get a chair and a desk. Free WI-FI. Spartan. Basic. Clean. Right off the freeway. Attractive room. A free continental breakfast. Cheap. If you are spoiled or you like "things in your room," this not the place for you. But if you don't mind about "things" and you want a good night sleep, you might want to give this place a try. We slept the four of us here for $63.00. That's "micro" money, and macro savings that stayed in our pocket.

Yelp
Before we moved to Louisville we looked for the cheapest room we could find...This one surprised us with it's succinct comfort. It was very clean, the room was tiny but the bad was SO comfortable! If you're claustrophobic you will probably hate it because the walls are very close to the bed and there is very little wiggle room. If space is not the issue though then Microtel is definitely at the top of our list when it comes to price + cleanliness + comfort.
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
Small room that felt dirty and was very noisy. Has the feel of a cheap motel but at least it has an elevator. No pool. Worst customer service ever! Was actually told by the guy at the front desk that my opinion of their service didn't matter and he didn't care if they received a bad review.
google avatar

Asma A.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights--it was a last minute thing. For the price it's not only cheap but good. I wouldn't stay more than 3 nights but the front desk were super nice and friendly! The room was clean and we had no issue. It is about a 20 min drive to downtown area of Louisville. The front desk actually called as we checked in and went to our room to make sure everything was ok and then to find out if we needed room service later in the day (since we declined in the morning as we occupied the room). good customer service. I would stay if i was in that area again but next time i would want to be close to the main city.

Looking Out For The City ..

Yelp
Reading other comments on this hotel, I had my doubts and pretty low expectations towards this place; however, I have to give credit where credit is due. From a microtel stand point, I would imagine from the word itself, a place that was slightly more upscale than a super 8 and less than a Holiday Inn. From what I had seen, I have to say that it totally surpassed my expectations as you will see below. When entering the hotel for my stay yesterday, I have to say that it smelled like a dentist's office (formaldehyde??? idk); but it was not really a problem. The hotel staff was definitely friendly and upon first impression, I have to give it a super on this til the end with around three staff individuals taking shifts until the day I left (today). The myth that some comments have on here is that the pillows were horrible; however, I did not find them to be that bad. Very soft and comparable to what I sleep on (cotton pillow). If there were problems with them being thin, there were three of them on a queen sized bed, so just stack them. Not a problem. The blankets were awesome (layered with three like any other hotel). I think the only real problem with the hotel was having a smoking hall on one side and a non-smoking on the other. Time and time again, I had to get luggage out of my car that was parked in a lot by the smoking side. Each time, I had to go through that hallway (really..I had the choice to go through the lobby) and this is why I would not mark it down for that. If people mark it down for this, just remember that you had other means of getting to your room and having smoking sections, they are just catering to the general public. From check-in to check-out, it was a pretty hassle free experience and one of the staff asked if everything in my room was fine. If one would ask me again, I can gladly say "No problems here, I would love to stay here again", for the price that I got on it ($57.25).

Yelp
I road trip, a lot. From the West coast to the East... bring it on. Spending so much time on the road, means I prefer a more basic (cheaper) hotel unless I'm wanting to pamper myself and relax. This hotel was great. The room was small, but as I was only one person, it was fine. Easy location as far as distance to the freeway, though my GPS was a little confused in finding it - luckily I saw the sign. Front desk lady was fantastic - warm, friendly and very helpful when I had questions about the area and how to find a specific place. Room was clean, bed was alright. The carpets had just been cleaned and the room had been aired out. I would certainly stay here again if I find myself in the Louisville area.

Yelp
Simple but clean rooms, low rates, friendly staff and free breakfast. Would happily return.

Yelp
It is honestly hard to find a low budget motel/hotel that is comfortable and bedbug free. I give Microtel Inn a FIVE STAR review for being a top notch home away from home. The rooms do not go out of their way to be much, however they are clean and budget friendly. All the staff that I encountered seemed to be very nice and personable. I felt safe in my room as well as in the general location. Microtel Inn is also a pet-friendly place... so this is a score for those who can't travel without little friends! There are many walkable food locations around the area and if you feel like adventuring downtown it is only a 10-15 minute drive!

Brooke M.

Yelp
Checked in and they almost had the wrong number of nights on our reservation but fixed it right away. Get up to our room to find the door open and bed unmade/looking as if someone's stuff was in there. Go back down to the front desk and get a new room to find the same situation! Apparently they don't make the beds here and leave the doors wide open? The clock in the room was also busted. The mirror above the bed was really sketchy. The second day it sounded like someone was dragging furniture around in the room above us literally all day and night. A/C was loud and really cold but the room would get too hot when we turned it down/off. Housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8 even though check out isn't until 11 and we had a do not disturb sign on the door. Sketchy place, would definitely NOT recommend.
google avatar

Chase H.

Yelp
I liked the hotel, staff and cleanliness enough BUT bring your own pillow because all of the pillows in this hotel are terrible; they feel like foam rubber, and you'll have to ask for a blanket. Other than the ultra thin blanket (if you can call it that), there was no warm/soft blanket in any of the rooms (i talked to other guests who confirmed) so you have to ask for one which they'll oblige and give you a soft fleece blanket. The TVs are old standard def CRTs but I expected as much. All in all it was fair for the price.

Marshall M.

Yelp
I was really happy with this hotel. It's comfortable, clean, and cozy. The rooms are small, but I like that. It has everything I needed, compactly organized. The walls seem thin, I heard the neighbors more than I'm used to at most hotels, but this didn't bother me even a little bit.

Philip B.

Yelp
If you just want a room with no other amenities then this place is great. Otherwise.... No coffee maker in the room. No pool. No gym. Small room with a queen size bed. The breakfast leaves much to be desired. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were so dry. Not much to chose from in the way of breakfast items. We are going to eat breakfast somewhere else tommorrow. The staff however were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the hotel itself looks very nice. But overall not very impressed what so ever. Just average.
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay for the cost. The staff was very nice and everything was clean. I only stayed one night on my way across the country. If you're looking for a clean place to sleep for not very much money, this is for you. The only thing that was disappointing was the free breakfast. There were slightly less options than what's offered at Super 8 in my experience. We opted for the McD's around the corner.
google avatar

Yelp
Most importantly, Dont Stay Here! Room stinky from moldy smell, maybe bad room freshener No fridge, no microwave, no chair except hard desk chair. Small room, noisy front desk area, broken ice machine. Would never stay here again regardless of the cost of other hotels. Front desk lady was a charm with places to eat and visit info. This was the only redeeming point. Go elsewhere!

Rae S.

Yelp
5 stars if you are here to pass through late at night and ONLY sleep and eat breakfast. It's a 2 if you are here with kids. It's clean, but it's not a bargain unless you are here on a blue collar business job. There ARE many nice restaurants close by. Tiny, tiny European-sized room with only a few feet of room on any side of the bed to place luggage. No fridge to keep my food cool. I thought since it was a Wyndham associated hotel, they might have rights to use a pool at a nearby place. No luck there. Whoever said it was family friendly was on crack, or must have had docile girls. My hyper child is going crazy here. No channel guide on the TV network, so we can find some distraction. No sizable lobby to roam in.
google avatar

Joy D.

Yelp
for the price, this place is great! it was very clean which is always my main concern. The rooms are a bit small and outdated, but still have everything you need. Continental breakfast is nothing special, but good enough to grab a snack in the morning. Plus a great location really close to the expressway and about 10-15 minutes to drive into town! I will be back when i am in Louisville next.
google avatar

Yelp
I've stayed here a lot over the last 2 years. A very clean, quiet and well maintained hotel. All the basic amenities for a traveler. In a convenient location, surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores and a Starbucks. Price is very reasonable on Priceline. If you need a restful night at an affordable price after a long day of travel, this is the place.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
Place was clean. Beds were decent quality. Staff was nice. Breakfast was adequate. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Staying at this particular location was perhaps one of the best overall national hotel/motel chain experience I've ever had, and there's a very cogent reason why this chain consistently has consistently won JD Power and Associates' "Highest in Guest Satisfaction among Economy/Budget Hotel Chains, Ten Years in a Row." It's actually quite amazing that this location isn't on their Top 20 list, but hey - it only gives me hope that if this location with its relative anonymity can do so many things so well, the top 20 list must be absolutely phenomenal. Onwards. Location: 5 out of 5 Convenient to the Louisville area, particularly if you are headed eastbound on I-64. The only thing I would mention is that if you're not familiar with the construction that's going on right now, bear in mind that the I-65 bridge between IN and KY is shut down for repairs. So...if you are coming down I-65 S and want to hop on over to I-64 E to the property, it shouldn't be a problem. Similarly, if you are going from the east and are already on I-64, the only thing you have to keep in mind is that you can't cross the I-64 bridge, and that if you want to get on I-65 N, you have to take the 264 bypass first. My particular experience was going through Louisville to the east TN area, originating in Chicago. The motel is located in a group of 3 - 4 other properties, and in walking distance to several restaurants. Cleanliness of Room: 5 out of 5 I've traveled enough to know what most motels are capable of on a regular basis, and I know what most motels will tend to overlook if they don't have a staff that's absolutely "spotless", pun intended. I was on the second floor in a queen bed room. My particular room was not only spotless from an aesthetic standpoint, but there were aspects of the amenities I noticed where other properties would just sort of say, "eh....whatever." Specifically, the liner of the shower didn't have the mold and mildew marks at the bottom. Yes, I realize that they'll still be there even if you put them through the wash. However, the liner in the shower didn't have one spot, ring, or line of mold on it. Furthermore, the drain for the shower flowed absolutely freely without any resistance. At home, I'm fairly meticulous about cleaning the tub drain out with a turbo snake and/or gel/foam cleaner, and I'm telling you - the tub drain in my room was almost as free-flowing as the one I have at home. Amenities: 3 out of 5 It's not the 4 seasons, though you can see them from your awesome built in day bed above the heating/AC unit. Yes, this location has built in day beds. They are neat to sit in for about 5 minutes. Then, if you are traveling alone, you say to yourself, "Why am I doing this again?" Toiletries are commensurate with what you'd find at most of the other non-boutique chains (think Super 8, Econo, Quality, Rodeway, etc.) The shampoo and soap do the job, the towels are generously sized (if a bit rough and scratchy...you know the sensation). The TV is above the closet, and if you're lying in bed, it's actually in a convenient location. The free breakfast is more than adequate for the average traveler; there are no hot or made-to-order items, but the individually wrapped muffins, fruit, cereal, and bakery items are fine. Remember that the rooms are "micro" - so you may not have as much space to store your items if you are traveling with a family of 4. For a single traveler on a motorcycle, I had plenty of space for my stuff. The WiFi isn't blazingly fast, but is probably a little faster than 3G. It was fine for just casual surfing on my phone's browser, and it was able to support Adobe Connect Pro without glitching out. Décor is pastel'ish, and they have mirrors in the room to make it look bigger. Cleanliness of Public Areas: 4 out of 5 The lobby was very well-maintained, and the corridors and dining areas were kept clean as well. The only minor complaint I would have is that because there are smoking guests who occupy the property, some of the odors associated with tobacco use could permeate through the main corridors. Be mindful if you have sensitive parties you are traveling with. Customer Service: 5 out of 5 Very nice staff that works at the front desk. Everyone I met was the right mix of friendly and efficient. They were also knowledgeable the general area, and provided good advice on different tiers of local restaurants. I don't have one negative thing to say about the staff I encountered. Price: 5 out of 5 I think I paid 57 including all taxes and fees. Like I said in the preface, this was perhaps one of the best bangs for the buck I've encountered in terms of lodging. Overall: 4 out of 5 Highly recommended. I would definitely stay again if I were passing through Louisville.

Yelp
Ended up staying for a few days. The first 3 days I was in the same room. I had booked two days through hotels.com. When I checked in there was a $40 deposit. The first two days no cleaning people came, continental breakfast was bleak, limited channels, bug carcasses and beer can tops in the lights. Extended my visit by a day. Was charged another $40 deposit and the room was $85....with a toddler in tow it was easier to stay than to leave. Extended my visit an additional day. Another $40 deposit and had to move rooms. Ok...meanwhile I'm waiting for my new apartment to get ready. This room had a slightly different layout. Different TV remote bottle caps under the dust ruffle suggest to me the room was not thoroughly cleaned. My son poured a bag of pretzels and there were crumbs on the floor. They kept my deposit because they had to do "extra cleaning" meanwhile I have been in two rooms that were not thoroughly clean when I checked in. We have made it to day 5. Moved into a different room and was charged another deposit.....so be sure to take pictures of how you left things. Also my family developed a rash. Not sure if it was the laundry detergent or bed bugs but it is not sexy at all. There is a laundry facility and it costs $2.50 a load. Your clothes will smell bad afterwards and the dryer doesn't dry well. So this place was supposed to be cheap but after the $200+ in deposits and my whole family needing to get treated for rashes it costs way more than it is worth.

Yelp
In relation to the comment by the staff of this hotel, I'm an adult woman. I know how to use a reset button on a hair dryer. I tried MULTIPLE times and it never worked. I even unplugged and replugged and attempted the reset button again. Nope! Never worked. Additionally I had to leave for work so I didn't have time took get a replacement hair dryer.

Yelp
The staff was friendly and the place is clean but that is it. The blankets are too thin. Also if you aren't an early bird you won't get any free breakfast. I went down stairs at 9:20am and there was a crockpot of sausage gravy and one boiled egg. I was very disappointed. Better hotels keep their breakfast going till at least 10am. There is also no coffee maker in the room. The room was $69. You get what you pay for.

Yelp
We were overcharged - so beware of what you think the price is, what they tell you when you book and what they ADD IN when it's time to check out. Seriously. Also, if you want a late check out....be prepared for them to give you a flat out no. I really didn't mind anything else....this is a microtel ...they are small and if I ever have to go back I just need to remind myself that the staff is rude and lacks the attention customers look forward to.

Yelp
Accused me of smoking in my room & asked if they could come smell it? After finding nothing apologized. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Cute, clean, cheap, friendly, continental breakfast, and free wifi. The receptionist called to make sure our room was ok. Ten-fifteen minutes from downtown Lousiville. Can't ask for more. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Everything I needed on a road trip. Woman at the front desk was a sweetheart. Room was clean. It had the essentials and nothing more. Breakfast was a nice start to the day. Close to downtown. Would stay again if traveling to the area.

Yelp
Funky little rooms (remodeled but 80's style? in a good way) that were very clean. Breakfast was decent (bananas, juice and oatmeal - nice to have healthy options) and front clerk was as sweet and helpful as a favorite Great Aunt. I would stay here again when passing through.

Yelp
Simple rooms that are clean. Not a bad location. Pet friendly and quiet. Only complaint is my room had a bit of a musty smell (I think it was the air conditioner) but otherwise I have no complaints. For the price, it is worthwhile.

Yelp
Fine hotel for what it is. Like "Andy C." says, below, it is clean, comfortable, and inexpensive. We felt safe and comfortable there, but were taken somewhat aback by the smell of smoke throughout the common areas. Coming from Illinois, where smoking is off limits just about everywhere, it struck us probably more than most would notice. Note that our room did not smell of smoke, only the common areas did, so it wasn't so bad.

Yelp
My brother and I traveled to Louisville in early August to attend a concert, and stayed here for one night. I'm a college student, so we were looking for a high value, inexpensive place to stay. We found Microtel through a hotel booking website, and saw positive reviews, so we decided to book it ourselves. When we arrived, we found it without much of a problem, in what seems like a nice area. The front desk receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the lobby seemed clean and welcoming, and our room looked to be in great condition. What I noticed most was not just the cleanliness, but also the customer service; the housekeeping staff was also very friendly and asked us if we would like them to attend to our room when we were on our way to the free breakfast. The breakfast selection was great and tasted fresh. Honestly, I don't think we could have found a better place to stay for such a good value. We even talked to some friends who stayed at a nearby Marriott, and it sounded like the Microtel we stayed in was in much better condition. I will definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future if I'm in the Louisville area.
