I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Midden at the Sydney Opera House and it was nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment you arrive, the setting is breathtaking, perched on Bennelong Point with uninterrupted harbour views that make you stop mid-sentence just to take it in. But what truly sets Midden apart is that the food, service, and storytelling match the grandeur of the location.
The menu is a beautifully curated celebration of native Australian ingredients, thoughtfully presented and explained with genuine pride and knowledge by the staff. Each dish felt like a journey through Australia’s landscape and culture, creative, elegant, and deeply respectful of Indigenous flavours and traditions. The balance of innovation and authenticity is outstanding.
The service was warm, attentive, and unpretentious. The team took time to explain the provenance of ingredients and the inspiration behind the dishes, which added a meaningful layer to the experience. You don’t just eat at Midden, you learn, you appreciate, and you connect.
The wine and beverage pairings complemented the menu perfectly, showcasing excellent Australian selections that elevated every course.
Dining at Midden is more than a meal; it’s an experience that blends food, culture, history, and one of the world’s most iconic views into something truly memorable.
If you’re visiting Sydney, or even if you’re a local, this is a must-do dining experience. Five stars without hesitation.
