I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is old in the best way — full of charm and character, and it feels almost proud of its history as a hotel. Everything was VERY well kept, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. There’s a lovely sense of tradition and care that you don’t often find these days. I’ll definitely stay again.

Enjoyed delicious food here for lunch. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Great vibe, nice pub. Fireplaces. Tuff looked after us and his service was exceptional. He explained the menu beautifully and was engaging and friendly.

I organised a lunch here and I don’t normally write reviews but this pub was fantastic. Lovely staff who were friendly and helpful! The food was fabulous. Roast of the day was beef and it was so good and so tender with traditional veggies, sauces and mustard. Deserts were good as well. Especially the apple strudel. I will be back as the atmosphere is terrific in all places. Maybe I’ll wait till spring as it was a little chilly in the dining area. But carpeted so you could have a chat without noise! TGA La so much to all staff! 👏👏👏👌👍

Came for the food not accommodation. Recently moved into the area and have been trying out all the various pubs. Came here for the Sunday Roast. Today it was beef. Absolutely fantastic. From all the pubs so far this was the best. The beef was tender, not overcooked. The vegetables of pumpkin, carrot, broccoli and potato were again cooked perfectly. Gravy was nice and just the right thickness. The Yorkshire pudding was cooked well, light and fluffy but still firm. Nothing to fault. Staff are very attentive and Ben in the dining room was very helpful in answering our questions. Beautiful old building that is maintained in pristine condition. Coming back for Steak day!

Gabe - the bartender provided fantastic service and awesome drink suggestions! Chris - was extremely helpful in discussing and breaking down the menu and specials, including the fantastic beef cheek! Harry - ensured the dining experience was unbeatable, through genuine care for the quality of food and also continuing to make sure all of the needs of our party were met! I will 100% be returning just for the top quality service!

Lovely rooms, nice attention to detail. Loved the fancy teas and espresso machine. Staff are excellent, nothing is a problem and they are very friendly. Restaurant and room service is top notch. I'm already booked to come back!

We were staying due to a very sad bereavement and we were very pleased with how we were treated. Courtney on reception was fantastic--she went above and beyond what could be expected . Her kindness was exceptional. Also one of the guys in the bar--including helping me with my luggage. Well done and thank you

Great Atmosphere & Food, Slight Room for Improvement I had a great experience at Middle Park Hotel. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a stylish blend of classic and modern decor. The food was excellent—well-prepared, flavorful, and nicely presented. The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wait time for food was a bit longer than expected during peak hours. It wasn’t a major issue, but something to keep in mind if you’re in a hurry. Overall, a fantastic spot for a meal or drinks, and I’d definitely return!

Yelp
I finally managed to get off of the tram to St Kilda and visited this pub for a beer, and it was certainly worth it. Actually, we ended up coming back here later that night, though that had more to do with us having finished with St Kilda, and my friend lived just around the corner. Yeah, this pub turned out to be pretty good, though that did have a lot to do with the range of beers on tap, and the rather friendly staff as well. I wouldn't necessarily consider it one of those pubs to stay out at all night, but as a pub it is still pretty cool.

Yelp
I enjoyed dinner here recently. The hotel is relaxed and the atmosphere very welcoming. It was interesting to note the difference in response times for my friends and I. Several went to the bar to order their drink and dinner, but I opted to use the online app. My dinner was far longer to arrive than all theirs were. When it did come it was good though - Murray Cod with a side of the cauliflower dish. It was fresh and delicious, with particularly good crispy skin. Prices for food are on the high side here too, so be aware of that. It was nice overall.

Yelp
If you like a good pub that is something a bit more than a dodgy place to prop up the bar and have a beer, you'll definitely like Middle Park Hotel. Great wine list, great menu, delicious bar food and gastro pub type food all in the one place. As a 120 year old building, it has great character too. Should you be visiting Melbourne, I imagine this'd be a great place to stay. Right across the road from a tram stop, spectacular cafes and restaurants in the area, and perched between St Kilda and the city you'd be hard pressed to find a more convenient location. Everywhere should have a place like this.

Yelp
Booked here on the recommendation of my nephew, who stayed previously for the Australian Open. Restaurant/pub was very handy to begin and end our day. Nice menu and good service. Middle Park location good, restaurants and shops within a couple blocks, tram stop across the street. Beware, there's no elevator! Staff was helpful with carrying suitcases upstairs. Low water pressure in the shower.

Yelp
First time I've been to the Middle Park Hotel. Service was prompt , efficient, and friendly from the moment we walked in till when we left. We shared an entree, scallops, for main we had fish of the day barramundi, and a roast sirloin steak which was one of the specials and good value considering current steak prices , and sweet potato chips with chili mayonaise for a side dish . For desert we shared chocolate hazelnut crumble with icecream. Really enjoyed all the food we had, everything was fresh, tasty and well cooked. The wines we had were nice as was the fresh peppermint tea . The open wood fire was very welcome on a cool night. The restaurant had a nice feel to it, apparently its 120 years old . Not too noisy considering the proximity of the busy bar. All in all an experience well enjoyed and worth a visit.

Yelp
I've always liked the Middle Park Hotel. It's a fine spot to sit on a Saturday afternoon, drinking something cold and throwing back oysters. It's also great for a mid week counter meal when you can't be fussed with cooking, or the big grand family dinner in the bistro area. An English leaning menu with a big focus on heirloom produce and meat from animals who have been treated well usually keeps everyone happy. I'm a fan of the steaks and enjoy it when they have an unusual cut (like a Bavette) on the menu. When it comes to food and booze you can give the Middle Park a big tick. But how about their upstairs hotel? Bet you didn't know about that, now did ya? I stayed overnight recently and was really impressed with the modern fit out of their hotel rooms upstairs. They're tiny, yes, but really other than a big comfortable bed with quality linens, a stylish and clean bathroom with Kevin Murphy toiletries, fluffy towels, an iPod docking station and a very well stocked mini bar (including some "adults only" items!) what else could you ask for? I've just become an even bigger fan of the MPH.

Yelp
Wow, talking about a hidden treasure behind an unassuming facade in the suburbs. From a casual walk past the outside with a peak in the windows you might assume this is just another low key pub but when you duck in out of the cold you discover a stylish interior with a vast selection of beer, wine and spirits that wraps around 4 bars. There a high-walled booths set along a side wall that can give you some privacy away from the public bar. Also, should the night turn in to a big-one or you want a nice over night stay check out the accomodation. When driving through Middle Park, stop at this place for excellent food and, I have no doubt, you can find something that will satisy a thirsty palate!

Yelp
A posh little pub to say the least. Not a place where you can expect to stroll in for a quick pint and a parma on the way home from work. Not unless of course you don't mind spending that little bit more and making a night of it. The Middle Park Hotel offers more than just your local, a historic building which is rich in history and architecture. Its sectioned so that patrons may enjoy a sit down dining experience or head over to the upmarket sports bar/entertainment area where there is a harmonic buzz on a friday night and everyones a chatter. The staff are professional and you can tell they have been selected careful to help uphold the Hotel's professional & polished image.

Yelp
My local pub and I have a meal, coffee and one beer at the counter about twice a week. Great staff, food, drinks and is well designed and detailed inside. The Armstrong St outdoor dining area is very popular but I like to eat and drink inside. Recently changed hands from the people who did it up a few years ago but the standards are still basically the same.

Yelp
I dropped in here to meet Uncle 'P' straight from the airport to have a wine and a catch up. A beautiful 120 year old building with insignia carpets and an original wooden staircase. Middle park hotel boasts a lovely Victorian wine list and a cracking bar menu. They seem a bit obsessed with sport in this bar as they had a promotion for the rugby world cup which covered up the walls with marketing paraphernalia. There are flat screens everywhere and we found ourselves here again for the AFL semi final. It is vibey pub that has a nod to the old English pub whilst also being current. I hear the chefs nail dinner also which I would be more than happy to try. There is accommodation upstairs which has been designed by the uber cool six degrees group. I haven't stayed there but it looks very modern and cool and what a location?!

Yelp
The MPH has the longest bar in Melbourne, and a real sports hotel feel. Memorabilia adorns the walls and it feels like an English clubhouse. Food is comprised of classic English pub fare with no shortage of radish on the side. Great selection of tap beers, excellent wine list and the food I usually top notch. It is a gastro pub so if you're going with friends expecting an $18 Parma and chips maybe forewarn them to expect a $34 rabbit pie instead. The best thing is a meal in one of the bar booths with a private tv to watch the football in winter or the races in summer. As far as pubs to go, it's a cracker. They even have a meat raffle every Friday night and $12 (albeit small) classic counter meals.

Yelp
Great place to stay or visit, cool atmosphere, great food, open fireplace, free wifi for those who need to feel connected...and it all works. WHY? The staff !!! They are brilliant.....

Tom P.

Yelp
Yeah, the middle park ticks a few boxes I reckon. Good beer and cider on tap - can't go past the Coldstream. The food is good (if a little pricey). And the venue is a good mix of sport and old fashioned pub. The only thing I find is that the service is hit and miss. Staffing - or more pertinently the personalities - are missing something. The managers seem good. Friendly, knowledgeable etc but the younger ones miss the point. Last time I visited the waiter said how the duck dish was her favourite, and then couldn't describe how it came?! Worth a visit on a Sunday arvo for a few cold ones and a meal....

Brian C.

Yelp
The hotel has a nice facade and is very spacious indoors. There is a beer garden and outdoor area which is unfortunately ruined by smokers. There is an indoor fireplace for winter months. Popular amongst locals, this is a little more upscale than your average pub with prices for food and beverage to match. There is a more formal restaurant out back doing overpriced steak meals. They won't do a pub Parma or cheap burger here, much to my disappointment. Service is okay, if occasionally a little pompous, reflecting the more upscale feel of the bar. You won't find a large boisterous Bogan crowd here either, something we don't miss. It attracts a rugby crowd for Wallaby games but is not the best place to watch football with very small outdated TV screens. This needs to be rectified.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed. Went for a mid-day pint to watch some of the cricket World Cup, awful beer that was possibly off, crap bar service and a miserable atmosphere.

Keith M.

Yelp
Dissapointing is the best way to describe this place. Pub service is poor and the pub menu has the potential to be so much better. Atmosphere is not relaxing with TV volume very loud whether a game is on or not. a couple of suggestions include - teach your bar staff about basic timely service and simple friendliness - turn the volume down in some parts of the bar for patrons who want a quiet drink. maybe the sections where there is no TV might be a good place to do this - review the menu. get some client feedback on the meals. could be so much better

Yelp
This hotel breathes authentic everywhere you look, but in now way feels dated. Rooms are cozy but perfect to rest at night. Friendly staff add character to your stay. And the breakfast - brilliant. Many craft beers on tap at the beautifully resorted bar. We'll be back!
