Had a great experience here last weekend while traveling through Vermont. We had a breakfast sandwich, cinnamon raisin bagel and a glazed donut. Everything was delicious and the glazed donut was amazing!

Google
I have such mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, they make a very good donut and a passable bagel, they are one of few breakfast places in Middlebury, and their prices are reasonable. On the other hand, they're not open on Sundays (when people want to go out for breakfast!), they regularly run out of donuts, and they're not the friendliest. Every Sunday I wake up with a donut craving and curse them!

Google
Absolutely amazing bagels and donuts. Definitely try their boston cream and maple cream donuts, as well as the cheddar dill bagel. You really can't go wrong with anything they make.

Google
While I love this place, I am highly disappointed in the fact that when they know people buy three, four dozen doughnuts at a shot, they don't have a lot of back ups made for those who come later on.All I ask is have a lot of back ups ready . I only buy them once a month and today they had nothing. I asked and was told all they were making were plain. So HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and wonder why they always have a surplus of bagels but not doughnuts.

Great spot for breakfast in Middlebury

Google
My favorite Bagel place of all time!

Google
This us one of my favorite places to eat breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is very layed back and the food is all made from scratch with very big portions at reasonable prices. The bagels are delicious and with the many toppings to pick from you will have a hard time choosing. They have a serve yourself tea and coffee station with other drinks also available. Quiet, quaint, with yummy food give it a try.

Google
An excellent place to start your morning. Wide variety of bagels and they are all very fresh. Bagel cream cheese is a delight. This is very popular with the locals as well as the tourists and gets quite crowded.

Yelp
Who would expect such good bagels in Middlebury, VT. Might be the best egg bagel sandwich I had outside NYC. Also enjoyed their donuts and coffee.

Erin H.

Yelp
My Mom grew up in the area, and this bagel joint has been delicious since then. We stopped by for bagels while in town for a reunion. We ordered a bunch of bagels with different toppings and they were all delicious. I've heard the donuts are worth the visit as well - with my friend often making a long journey just to grab some! I highly recommend grabbing a bagel sandwich, and taking a walk around town. Maybe even stopping in to the amazing co-op next door!

Yelp
I wish I had come here earlier but as one typically does, I came here during my final semester of my bachelor's degree to enjoy breakfast. The first time was a field trip of sorts, and we made it a whole thing. The second time was a more casual, post-hike breakfast. I always love the Bagel Egger as I love eggs and will always love eggs. Eggs and bagels are a match made in heaven, and I wish that more business sold me egg bagel sandwiches. Their Bagel Egger was delicious! Egg and cheese on a bagel? Yes. They have got a lot of different bagel offerings, and I would trust them all. The service is classic Vermont small town vibes, super friendly.

Yelp
When I was here I got donuts, bagel, and a chocolate chip cookie that is bigger than my face!! The sweet are alright but the bagel was absolutely fantastic! I only went into grab food and went out but the service I got was good.

Danielle J.

Yelp
First time trying. Cute shop, great decor! Friendly staff, and being a bagel snob, the bagels were great! Soft on inside, with a great crust. Loved my plain with olive cream cheese. Only issue was checkout was a little confusing and jumbled. Wasn't sure if I had to wait for food, or where the line ended to pay.

Kari W.

Yelp
I have loved this place for years and coming back after a decade and it's still just as amazing! This was the place that I had my first vanilla cream filled donut and I have been in love ever sense.... But I was super bummed they did not have them today. I will survive, I think. Fortunately their other offerings are yummy also! I enjoyed a bacon egg and cheddar bagel sandwich and my niece was extremely impressed by the cinnamon and sugar bagel with cream cheese! We hope to be back in the near future!

Iris W.

Yelp
The staff were nice and it's a really cozy place! The coffee is good and so is the bagel egger. The bagel was something I would come back for but when it comes to the pancake.... I have to say it wasn't the best though decent enough for a fulfilling breakfast to start a slow day! Beware the pancakes were very big (which is a relatively good thing) so I couldn't finish the pancake after eating half of the bagel. Maybe just try to pancake on its own with a cup of coffee. Cool place though and I definitely recommend it :)

Iris W.

Yelp
Nice stop before campus tour. I did not see signage on street side but shares parking lot with the co-op. Great bagel and clearly a locals' meeting place. Two thumbs up from us :)

Yelp
Tried and True Our favorite breakfast spot in VT! ++. Ambiance is a good balance of Local vibe, college students and city folks. Always busy and lines for order and cashier. Most people do take outs. They do have a small DR but has a high ceiling so it feels airy. ++. Food is bagels, donuts and breakfast. Their donuts and bagels are sold at many local general stores as well. Bagels and blueberry buckwheat pancakes are loved by my family. Their full order of pancake is two huge pancakes so order a 1/2 order if you are a normal human. They serve Green Mountain coffee too. ++. Price is reasonable +++. Service is friendly and super accommodating. On a visit this season, they ran out of blueberries so they stopped serving blueberry pancakes for the day by the time we got here. Since we didn't have any more days in Middlebury on this trip, we bought organic blueberries from the Co-op next door and Justin, the chef made us our blueberry buckwheat pancakes :-)). +. Parking is limited street and a shared lot with the Co-op. They close early and often run out of popular bagels and donuts, so go early!

Louise H.

Yelp
Great bagels. I had an egg sandwich- yum. Clean and kinda cute. Nice service. Yummy donuts

Angie P.

Yelp
Amazing Bagels!! Seriously some of the best I've had in my life! Their sandwiches are super yummy as well! And their donuts are nice! The service is great, very tentative!! I personally don't like eating there because it's crowded but there is space back there!

Ricardo S.

Yelp
Went here twice this week and more satisfied each time. Great staff, food and coffee selections. Love the dining room too. Bagels were outstanding and so was the omelette. Can't ask for more! Thanks for starting my day on a positive note.

P.Y. H.

Yelp
A quick stop for some breakfast to go. As we parking some people were coming out and we asked if it was good. They said it's excellent! They were right! We ordered a reuben for lunch and a coupla bagels and coffee. All were good. particularly tasty was the reuben with its healthy portion of corned beef.

Timothy T.

Yelp
Service was fast and it is a very city bagel shop feel inside. Everything was awesome. The lox bagel was superb and they have a nice variety of cream cheeses.

Marissa R.

Yelp
Dare I say that these bagels are just as good as a New York bagel?! I ordered a plain bagel with cilantro garlic cream cheese, which was the perfect amount of savory to pair with my sweet morning coffee. My boyfriend ordered a cinnamon sugar bagel with plain cream cheese and enjoyed it as well. The bagels are doughy, carby, and absolutely delicious; customer service was friendly and prompt too. The biggest "plus" for me was that they put the PERFECT amount of cream cheese-- not too stingy and not too much (looking at you, Noah's Bagels, who never seems to get the ratio right). I took off one star because they didn't have much variety when it comes to bagel flavors or donuts. Not sure if that's standard, or if we just arrived too late (it was around 10-11am IIRC). But, I would absolutely come again and definitely recommend to anyone visiting or passing through!

Heidi C.

Yelp
Delicious! They are very accommodating. Love the toast it's the best. Have to try the bagels next.

Lian M.

Yelp
The bagels are amazing! Their sandwiches are yummy and a good price for a family-owned business in Middlebury Vermont. Their bread is not very high quality and since all bagels are made daily, if you don't get there before 12 pm they may have run out. Good luck and good eats!

Dave M.

Yelp
Delicious and homey. We showed up late and they had wonderful omelettes and breakfast sandwiches. I was also happy that they had gluten free bread, so I had toast! That's a big deal for me. I had the 3-egg omelette with bacon, cheddar and potatoes and it was yummy! I highly recommend this place!

Mary S.

Yelp
Great but wicked busy on a Saturday morning. The bagels are excellent and they offer many varieties as well as many different coffee and tea options.

Brian K.

Yelp
Best bagels we have found in Middlebury. And their breakfast sandwiches are hearty and delicious. Even our New York friends have been satisfied with their bagels. And that's the hardest bar to cross when it comes to bagels, to be honest.

J B.

Yelp
Local bagels simple but nice. Inside has some seating available. Variety of bagels are NY style and nyc quality.

Glory S.

Yelp
These are my favorite bagels in Vermont! The bagel egger is my go to but I've had almost everything on the menu and nothing disappoints.

Jeanette M.

Yelp
Local, homemade, friendly staff, what's not to like. Never gotten anything bad from pancakes to sandwiches. Bagels giant and delicious!! And amazing donuts. You won't be disappointed

Marc C.

Yelp
If you're orginally from the Philly area you'll appreciate the fact that you simply cannot get a good cheesesteak in New England* and we have had some truly awful, terrible, very, very bad ones. This little place, unbelievably, has a fairly decent one. No cheese wiz, but American works. No sauce, no idea what that was, but I really feel that since the roll was soft enough, (Can't get Amoroso's this far north.) and the steak was chopped finely enough, there is hope. Chopping in the cheese as the steak is almost done and then adding any pre-cooked peppers and onions and heating through might get this place a really great reputation for a true Philly cheesesteak, sans the perfect roll. Oh, and they have good bagels, and friendly service. Bought a dozen mixed and while not a fresh NYC bagel, not bad at all. Our to-go place when we come to Middlebury to shop the Co-op. Jonesing for a cheesesteak? Give this place a try. Who knows, they may be epic one day. *To be fair, you can't get a good lobster roll in Philly!

Douglas B.

Yelp
Super friendly, tasty bagels, excellent deli sandwiches, and the best donuts in Vermont! Comfortable seating as well. Generous serves.

Lin C.

Yelp
Great Bagels and very friendly staff. I ordered 3 dozen bagels to bring to Middlebury Snowbowl for my son's college race team for breakfast and got so many compliments on how good the bagels were. Large coffee selection and although I did not buy donuts, they did look good behind the counter.

Stephen S.

Yelp
Somebody in Yelp! needs to update the hours for them. They're closed on Sundays and Thursdays right now due to staffing issues, and have been for almost half a year.

Oli R.

Yelp
Never have I ever had to wait 30 minutes for a three bagel/cream cheese order. Yes, it was busy but when the people behind me started to receive their orders, I inquired about mine. Nice, young girl asked her fellow coworkers who seemed dazed about the order. They quickly made it only for it to be wrong. At this point, I just accepted the incorrect order and moved on. Bagels are better than average but cream cheese overload kills it. Give yourself ample time to get your order fulfilled.

Miriam W.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick breakfast and got 2 bagels to go, an everything and a dill, both with cream cheese. These are very good bagels, and they're making them correctly, using the classic boil and bake method that is the only way to get that nice crusty exterior. The coffee was also good. I didn't sample anything else, so can't comment on the other offerings, but I'd come here any day of the week for a bagel. Counter service was friendly and helpful, and you can take your bagel and sit in the dining room, which was very pleasant.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Such a cute place with great food! I got the spinach bagel (never had a spinach bagel before!) with veggie cream cheese. The bagel was delicious and the cream cheese was so fresh with pieces of raw red and green peppers. My boyfriend got an egg sandwich on a bagel which he said was phenomenal. He enjoyed the home fries too. It was a wholesome Vermont meal! Would definitely return!

Hope B.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwich was gooood! I recommend you get the JJ bagel breakfast sandwich if you want to get something quick to go. We was stuffed after! They also have homemade donuts!

Wyatt T.

Yelp
Best local spot for bagels, donuts, full breakfasts, and yummy lunches (sandwiches with their homemade bread are the best!). Cash only with an atm inside for people who forget about that. Friendly service, good food, fair prices. A lot of the most popular bagels and donuts sell out on the weekends so get there early!!

Moe P.

Yelp
Definitely have their bagels and sandwiches. The place gives you a home vibe and their hospitality is superb.

Dan H.

Yelp
Sue, her mom and myself came here for breakfast on Halloween morning. Her family knows the folks who own this place and we ended up talking for them a bit while we were here. It is great to be in a part of the country where everyone seems to know everyone else. She and I split one of their omelets with a pumpkin bagel on the side. We also splurged and got a Maple Cream donut as well because they looked so damn good. They were damn good. They also usually have fresh cream donuts which I would have loved to try, but they were out of them on this visit. It was so nice of them to split our meal in half. Completely unexpected and you don't really see that all that often in this day and age. A good local establishment run by honest local folks.

Nicole G.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Being here for the 1st time was confusing though. You order at the counter, pay, then try to find a place to sit. The bagel and cream cheese was so good! The homefries are a must... best ever!

Nate M.

Yelp
Excellent bagel and breakfast place. The eggs and bacon were great and this place had a real old school feel

Refresh B.

Yelp
Driving back from a ski trip and read the reviews... this place is quintessential VT. So awesome. Nicest staff. Great food. LOVE IT! The maple cream doughnuts are like crack.

Ashley T.

Yelp
I've loved everything I've eaten here. Their bagels are cheap and phenomenal, and their omelettes are good too. Until I came here I had never liked a pancake that I didn't make myself, but MY GOODNESS their pancakes are divine. Service is always good, quick, and friendly; I love coming here regularly.

Craig C.

Yelp
I stopped here because of the glowing reviews. We had a good meal and a decent experience, but I definitely wouldn't put it at 5 stars. My mom and I got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches and my dad got blueberry pancakes. Service was friendly but really slow, especially considering that it was near empty when we were there (think about 25 - 30 minutes to get our food). The food was pretty straightforward and tasted good - nothing special, really a standard bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. I think that A-OK just about sums it up.

Jamie B.

Yelp
We literally ate breakfast at this bagel place all 4 days we were in Middlebury. The bagels are really good, the bagel sandwiches with lox and cream cheese or egg and meat are tasty and come out fast, there is a plethora of coffee choices, the service is quick and friendly. What's not to like? It's a little confusing when you first go because you order, then you pay at the register before sitting down. You have to recite your order to the cashier, there's no paper involved between ordering and paying.

Jimmie J.

Yelp
I am glad that we visited here during our time in Middlebury. The service and food was outstanding! And the prices were great! Please bring cash as they do not accept cards. Again, I highly recommend!

Kevin K.

Yelp
Grocery store type deli, with a variety of subs and sandwiches. Staff very efficient and friendly.

Christine V.

Yelp
Updated review.... we have been coming here since this place opened and the past two times we have waited 30 minutes for our breakfast. It's so frustrating to watch people come in after you and be served, while continuing to wait for a simple egg omelet. Great food, just not sure where the breakdown is with service.

Julie C.

Yelp
We LOVE Middlebury Bagel. As transplanted New Yorkers, it's great to have a place to get fresh, good bagels (when we're actually eating carbs, ha ha). Their bagel-egger breakfast sandwich is always a treat, but we've enjoyed omelettes, other sandwiches, pancakes and quiche on occasion. Their home fries are absolutely off-the-hook -- the chef tells us that the red potatoes make all the difference. Everyone who works there is super-friendly and sweet. We love stopping in there once a week or so...except when we're doing a Whole30 and can't get near the bagels and doughnuts...

Gina L.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite local restaurants - excellent chef salad, incredible blue berry pancakes, oh - and really good bagels. But best of all, if there's an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie on the counter - grab it - you'll be addicted right away!

Conor M.

Yelp
Bring cash, bring cash, bring cash. I always forget. Great little spot with fantastic donuts and bagels. Simple enough

Chris D.

Yelp
Great spot. Quick & pleasant service. Take out or eat in. Very good bagels but also donuts and a bigger breakfast - pancakes, omelettes, etc if you have time. Excellent selection of coffees as well.

Eric S.

Yelp
Good bagels, but seriously- what kind of business doesn't take debit cards in this day and age. If you are that concerned about margins then tack on 2-3% to the bill rather than make me pay a fee at some crappy in-store ATM. You've lost my business. Grrrrrr.

Don D.

Yelp
Delicious donuts and bagels ... all made from scratch. It's hard to just buy one... and another two for the road. Keep up that hometown touch.
