Middlethorpe Hall and Spa

This hotel is absolutely fabulous what a gem. I booked for myself and my partner for our Christmas getaway present. I didn't really read the reviews or look in to it too much, we just wanted somewhere with a spa. On arrival it was clear that this hotel was going to be so much more, I didn't realise it was a National Trust property!! The staff were fantastic and so polite. We used the spa facilities which were a bit small but just what you need for your hotel stay to wind down in the evening. We ordered room service for tea and honestly it was the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. The wine was very nice and the service to the door was of five star quality, not four stars. Breakfast was timely and delicious. Honestly we have stayed in some 5 star hotels in London which did not meet this property's standards. We will definitely be back!!!! Overnight it has snowed heavily and the front of house staff had packed us biscuits and water in case we got stuck driving away, so thoughtful. 100% recommend.

Absolutely wonderful food both at dinner and breakfast. Very friendly staff. Not cheap, worth it for the dining but room rate seems a little steep when it entails a walk in the rain to dinner. Park and ride nearby which is definitely the best way to travel into York

Middlethorpe Hall is a hotel in a thorpe (small village) just minutes outside the city of York. While being on the doorstep of the old city, it is fundamentally in a semi rural amazing location, enjoying country views and clean air.||The hotel itself is a lovely property. Historical context and in fantastic condition, incredibly restored and looking perfectly furnished as a Country House style. The hotel facilities are amazing - a stand alone spa, choice of lovely rooms, dining facilities. We stayed in Room 25 and it was simply lovely, good sized and beautiful decor. Could wish for nothing more!||Perhaps the most awesome factor is the human complement. Every person we met was impeccably trained, professional and capable, friendly and accommodating with a great can-do attitude. Truly a collection of outstanding individuals and collectively a high-performing team.

My wife and I wanted a night away and found this stunning place on google maps. The hotel is fantastic, the room was very nice and clean, the staff there were amazing and polite, especially the French waiter (forgot his name). The food there which we went for was the 8 course taster menu which was stunning, not cheap but worth it! My only minus point would be our room was a little snug but absolutely fine for us for 1 night. The hotel is also next to the York racecourse, which would be handy for people. We also forgot our swimwear for the spa, so I can not comment on that, which was a shame as it looked very nice.

Thank you so much for a most delightful stay at Middlthorpe |I have visited many times over the years and was very pleased that the high standards were still upheld. Excellent friendly staff. The Muse room has its own sitting room decorated with Christmas tree and all sorts of decorations. The spa was equipped with every facility that may think of (steam room sauna, gym, hot tub). The eving meal was included in the package which was a one of a kind culinary experience. Over all set in wonderful grounds which is part of the national trust.

Had the most amazing stay at Middlethorpe Hotel in York. The room was amazing and the staff from check in, the porters, and restaurant staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. The food was fantastic and the spa was great, again the staff in the spa too were lovely. Our room felt luxurious and was very comfortable, warm, great views over the park and had a lovely calm feeling. The room was kept spotlessly clean and we left feeling very well looked after. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to visit again.

My wife and I stayed at this superb Historic House Hotel for 2 nights in January and can thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for luxury, great service and amazing food. |The accommodation be it in the main house or a Courtyard room is top quality, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the location close to York is stunning. We will certainly be returning.

We had another wonderful stay at Middlethorpe which looked beautiful with the rooms dressed for Christmas. All the staff are excellent and keep the highest standards whilst creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. |The hotel has a classical charm which makes it an oasis of calm and to see the deer gently strolling at the bottom of the garden in the twilight, was memorable.|We always enjoy the delicious meals and relaxing pool in the spa.|Thankyou
