My friends and I had a great time staying here. The showers were very nice and clean. There was also a sauna and a hot tub on the roof for guests to enjoy. The staff was friendly and I would definitely go back

Midgard was incredible! I stayed in one of the multi-bed dorms and it was so clean and the beds felt very private and spacious. The roof top hot tub was one of my favorite soaks I had in Iceland, and all of the staff were so friendly, kind, helpful and accommodating. After a few days on a backcountry adventure, it was such a treat to return here (and they were very helpful about finding places to dry and store gear!). The food in the restaurant was also great, honestly I can't say enough good things!

We would certainly stay again. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom, it was very comfortable and very well thought out (lots of storage, hooks). Hot tub and sauna were very welcome after a long day exploring! ||Didn't eat but certainly enjoyed the bar. 10/10 no complaints.

We stayed at Midgard for 3 nights as a family of 2 adults, a teen and a tween. The family room was perfect for us, with a great view over fields of horses to the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, which we also enjoyed from the rooftop hot tub. The location was perfect for exploring the area from the Reykjadalur hot spring thermal river all the way to Vik. We had breakfast and two dinners on site and found the food delicious and good value. We also took a Midgard Super Jeep tour to Fjallabak and highly recommend it - spectacular views and a guide who brought them all to life. Out of this world. The staff at the hotel were all super and very helpful.

Totally recommend. Try the lamb shanks for dinner - it's local and comes with carrots, mashed potatoes, and pickled cabbage. I also stayed at the hotel and it's adorable with a hot tub and sauna on the rooftop. A very affordable, yet high end experience in the Iceland countryside. Family owned and operated. Thank you!

Even the drive from the airport took my breath away, the vast expanse of raw beauty, nature at its most naked, unadulterated magnificence. All that was intensified, soothed and calmed by the amazing people at Midgard Adventure. This 4-day Northern Lights Tour gave me the chance to ride across rivers in a massive jeep, climb into ice caves and glaciers, gaze across snow filled valleys, walk behind waterfalls, and so much more! Including chasing and catching the elusive Ive made friends here, eaten top quality restaurant food, felt like Ive been invited on a personal tour of Iceland's South coast by family and friends, even though I solo-travelled here, knowing no-one beforehand. The minute the guides pick you up, the|Magic starts to happen. Its Iceland - its Midgard - its the cool, talented guides - its being with people who like what you like. In short, they will steal your heart, but give it back to you twice as full when you leave. Thank you Midgard, Thank you Iceland, I love you!

What an absolutely wonderful place! We booked our accommodations for our August 2025 trip to Iceland without a ton of preplanning, and the places personally recommended to us by friends and family were all booked up. It turns out that I’m glad they were, because Midgard Base Camp was an absolute gem and I’m so happy we got to stay there! I tend to err on the side of plush hotels when traveling, and a shared family dorm-style room (with four adults/ near adults!) is out of the norm for me, so I approached with a bit of trepidation. However, it ended up being my favorite place we stayed on the whole trip, outstripping much more expensive accommodations. ||While the rooms are basic, they have everything you need to rest and recharge. While the bathrooms are shared (and maybe there are rooms where they’re not? But not available when we booked, if so), they’re clean, and none of us have ever had to wait for a shower or to use the toilet. Hall and hot tub noise were a bit of an issue, but we came prepared with earplugs, and later discovered that some had been left out in the common area for people who might not have thought of it when packing. It was great to be able to do laundry, efficiently dry our footwear on the drying racks in the hall, and hang our damp items in the drying cupboards (a thing we don’t but should have in the US.) ||Breakfast was outstanding and satisfied my teenagers, which frankly, rarely happens, so it’s exciting when it does. The coffee was so, so good - I missed it on the remainder of our trip.||But more than anything else, it was the staff that made Midgard such a fantastic place to stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Plus, dogs!! And bonus horses! The best.||We’re already planning to come back and experience Iceland in the winter months, and we’ll definitely be staying at Midgard while on the south coast. I really can’t recommend it enough. Thank you for having us for our too short stay!

This kind of offering just doesn't exist anymore, what they're doing is so special and so unique, it's worth going just for the reminder that it exists. The staff genuinely care, you can tell, they want to be there, they want to help, the sense of community that exists in this space just doesn't exist in other spaces. You want to hang out in the lobby, on the couches, the communal areas, it feels comfortable and inviting, without being forced. We were there very briefly and I was genuinely bummed out we weren't staying longer, going on an adventure with them. The food was good, the drinks were good, the design of the place is solid without needing some influencers praise. Please change absolutely nothing, this place is perfect.
