Midtown Western Inn

This place was perfect for what we needed. One night to crash while on a road trip. It's dated, but the service and price can't be beat. Rod the owner is super friendly. Ice, mini fridge, microwave, wifi and cable tv. Dog friendly and sidewalks close by for walking. We had breakfast at the attached Lodge restaurant. Delicious and again great service and prices. If you don't care about frills this is a great place to stay.

You get what you pay for. We just needed a place to crash for the night. It smelled like a great grandmas house. You could feel the springs through the bed and the pillows were paper thin. The sun shined right through the bathroom window and there was no curtain to block it out. The ac would turn off and on so it felt great sometimes and then would get hot. The rooms were clean though so I can’t complain about that. The pool had green moss around the edges so we didn’t attempt. The staff was kind. The breakfast included is muffins and sunny-d or Coffee but there is an on-site paid breakfast as well.

The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was homemade muffins that were great, and the location was good for my activities. But, the room was old fashioned, having a bathtub that I had to put a mat in for safety. There was a microwave and frig available also in the room.

Small, dated motel with not enough parking spots for guests. Our room had a severe odor of urine/mildew. Don't expect to find shampoo or conditioner or any amenities. Restaurant is closed, as is the pool. Spend a few extra dollars and stay at a place where you'll feel safe from bed bugs and odor-free the next morning. Cannot recommend under any circumstances.

The tub in room 103 could use some Drano. I don't enjoy standing ankle-deep in water while showering! Upon entry, the room had a noticeable smell of urine and mildew. You get used to it, but it's unpleasant. Bafflingly small number of outlets in the room, but I guess that's okay. Few amenities - don't expect shampoo. No breakfast. Overall, an okay spot if you're passing through but I wouldn't stay there again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very old so as expected- faint mildew smell in room and from AC. Pool broken. Much cleaner than I would have thought thought though-bedding wise, except the bathroom- had previous customer's hair on the wall and in the tub. Not a bad little cheap place in a pinch off the highway over all though.

Cleanest room of any price. Marvelous comfy bed and extra pillows. Great water pressure and hot. Quiet, even though conveniently on a major street. Excellent morning coffee in office--and I'm picky. All the benefits of any room at a surprisingly modest price. Friendly staff. Great retro style, like Route 66.

Very friendly staff. The pool is very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. We have a fridge and a microwave in the room. Nice old fashioned feel. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who would like to save money on no frills room. Very nice and comfortable. Pizza hut across the street. There is a restaurant right next door to the motel.

New owner is trying to fix it up himself, but it needs a lot of work and cleaning. Screen door to my room was jammed and he had to work on it for me to get in the room. The only redeeming thing is it had a nice tavern/restaurant next door that I enjoyed a little 3 piece band and dinner. The motel is on the main street and has people who live there. One nice man came to chat with me and on the whole it was not what I would have picked, but stayed and left early. Probably recommend you stay elsewhere if you can. Motel Clerk was very nice, but place needs a lot of fixing and cleaning.

This place doesn't know how to schedule and will cancel on you. Apparently it's the customers fault they don't update their systems.

This is your classic motel. It isn't as fancy as newer chain hotels right off the interstate, but is local/family owned and offers everything you need for a decent night's sleep (and has a great restaurant for breakfast in the morning). The rates are also a pretty good deal. Some rooms seem more recently updated than others, but the few we've stayed in are in fine condition. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and the beds comfy. Each room has a large flat-screen TV, mini fridge and microwave. Additional amenities (coffee pot, iron, hair dryer) are available upon request. Along with the Lodge restaurant onsite, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is a large patio on the second floor and a decent sized pool. I'd recommend for anyone that enjoys getting away from the ordinary and supporting local businesses.

Kind of outdated, but it is a budget motel. They are dog friendly with a $5/night/pet fee. Room was overall fairly clean. However there were a couple of issues that demonstrated that the rooms are probably not cleaned as thoroughly as most people would like. As I looked at the fridge and microwave that are provided, which is a nice touch at a budget place, I wondered if they thoroughly cleaned the interior of these in between guests. I opened the fridge door and found my answer; there was a cup of ice with some liquid inside the fridge. So definitely not cleaned in between stays. The next issue was far more concerning. I met a nice family of German tourists and ended up spending most of the night drinking Budweiser and visiting with them. Boy, could they put away the Budweiser!! About 10:00 p.m., someone approached their room claiming it was their room. This man said that he had been staying there for a couple days and had also paid for this night. The Germans further inspected their room and found the closet full of this guy's stuff! He was pleasant and left for another hotel upset that this place rented his room to others while he was out. Obviously they did not thoroughly clean the room as the closet was full of this guy's stuff. Even more disturbing is that they are renting rooms that are occupied by others. In my opinion this is the cardinal sin of any lodging establishment. Creating a potentially very dangerous situation between people and also putting their property in jeopardy. I would have otherwise rated this place 4 stars based on price and overall decent accommodations. But renting out occupied rooms and laxity in cleaning procedures must take away at least one star for each. Hopefully they get it together before someone gets hurt or loses their stuff.

This place is great ! It's a 50's 60's model and shows it ! Those little quirks are here, but they bring back memories of times past ! The rooms are clean & everything works . It was great for the money. If you're a big city person you're used to a different life style, this not for you! Fun loving people will love this motel !

I can't remember when I have ever had a room with a full size refrigerator and a microwave with NO coffee cups NO. Coffee. NO tea. What is the purpose of the microwave... I thought to heat things. In a plastic water cup? I called the desk and they said I could come down and borrow a coffee cup. OMG. This is truly unacceptable !!!

This hotel is amazing! We stayed in room 129 (not sure if the rooms are different) and it was clean and large. The bed was very comfortable and there were two reclining chairs in the room that were also very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was perfect (which might seem silly, but I've been living out of various hotels for the past two weeks and so a good shower makes a big difference) It is definitely a little older and is a basic hotel so you won't have anything fancy, but it has been very well maintained and we found it to be very quaint. The manager/owner (not sure, but it was the person who checked us in) was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend for the price.

08/ 2012: This is a great motel. We have stayed here 4 times on our trips to Wyoming as it is a halfway point for us. The rooms are clean and nice. The bathrooms are spotless. The price is great, the pool is perfect for a quik dip after a day of travel. The staff has always been very nice. Will definitely stay here again! 08/2013: Motel has somewhat deteriorated. Not as clean and kinda smelly. We checked out the room, but didn't stay. Too bad, I used to really like this place. We stayed at the Motel 6 instead

JD Fox says "thumbs up". I travel for a large vending company and have stayed with Rod and Lonna once a month at least for 11 years. These folks are great hosts. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I don't like to pay for "fancy smantzy" bells and whistles that I don't need or use. Good food, cocktails, and good company are abundant within walking distance, or right at the motel. The folks there go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Support small town business owners and stay with these great people!
