Migis Lodge at Sebago Lake

I'm sharing this review as a vendor that has worked on the property for multiple weddings, and this is truly one of my favorite wedding properties. The grounds are stunning and provide such a unique and intimate setting for a wedding day. The staff take great care to make the weekend memorable for all (one weekend they created a 5k running course the day of the wedding). It's the perfect setting for a couple that is looking for a weekend experience with their guests and an elevated rustic and cozy vibe.

We love this resort and just had our fourth family visit, now with a group of 10. We all wait all year for our Migis time and love the cabins, waterfront, boat activities, waterskiing, owners and warm welcoming staff, cookouts, lobster bakes, ice cream all the time, walking around the property, tennis, kids' camp, just about everything. And a wonderful plus is the friendliness of the guests who talk to one another (or most do), smile, engage and come back yearly. We also like dressing up a bit for cocktails and dinner. Our kids loved being in the talent show and singing karioke and the counselors. What a treat it is to return. Keep doing what you do; we love your resort

Back for our fourth time and plan to return and every year. We love it! All three generations from the place and staff to activities and friendliness among guests and food especially cookouts and lobster bake. This is camp for all generations and may have a Migis trust in my will!

Our small family experienced our 4th summer at Migis last June and we are eager to return for our 5th summer! As many reviewers have mentioned...the grounds are magnificent; incredibly tranquil and meticulous. |The cabins are lovely, some better than others, but all have their unique qualities that make them special. We love lighting fires to keep cozy on those chilly June evenings.|The Kids Club has been a favorite for our little, her favorite event being the Candy Boat! The counselors are caring, attentive, fun, creative, responsible, and incredibly thoughtful. You can even hire a sitter to stay with your little one if they go to sleep earlier so the parents can just relax under the stars with a nice cocktail or a dinner at a leisurely pace.|The food is plentiful and varied. I would also agree that the food on a good-better-best scale is solidly in the Better range. We love having the coffee and pastries available since we are early risers. It affords my daughter and I the opportunity to sit lakeside with a muffin and coffee (hot cocoa) and our favorite books while dad sleeps in. The lunch at Migis Island is a family favorite! |SUP boards, Kayaks, and Tennis are activities we enjoy daily, and we occasionally rent a small motor boat to "spice it up."|At many All-Inclusive places, you still need to make a dinner reservation. Not at Migis! You simply show up and your table is waiting. |The staff is always friendly and helpful. We love chatting with the international students and learning about where they hail from. Everyone has such an interesting story.|Migis has truly thought of everything...you can truly steal away rest when the details are handled for you.

Exceeded even our very high expectations! What a wonderful place. Maine lake living at its best.

Amazing. I would definitely recommend, 10/10. We went for a wedding and felt like we were in a fancy adult version of the parent trap. If we didn’t live across the country, I’d try to go yearly. The cabins were so cute, cozy, and well decorated. Food was delicious. They had a great space for kids.

We were back for our third time and as wonderful as ever; this time without kids and grands and we had a ball! Love coffee by the lake, cookouts for lunch, lovely guests who all talk with one another--or most do, cocktails on the lawn, tennis, ping pong, swimming, boating, pickellball, painting, reading. What's not to love? And wonderful staff and comfy rooms. We feel so blessed to keep coming back, as does family. This is a treasure, especially for those of us who LOVE camp, adult or child. And there's too much food; is it a five star restaurant? No, but it's wonderful and lots of choices.

A lovely high-end resort tucked away in Maine, about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Boston. We went there for a friend's son's wedding and wished we could have stayed there longer. There are several differently sized cottages spread across the property and my husband and I occupied a well-appointed, one bedroom one. The meals were well curated and really good. The facility offers several activities for residents ranging from pickle ball to tennis, from swimming to kayaking, from hiking to getting a massage to many more. The pre-wedding ceremony as also the wedding were held outdoors in 2 different locations, while the wedding dinner was indoors.

Beautiful place, right on the lake with amazing view. Only downsides were occasional poor service, and during breakfast my food came out cold, and watched some staff sit around.

We were back for our third time and wondered how it would be this time without kids and grandkids; would we be lonely? Well, we missed them but it was fabulous as ever! Good food, service, a room in the lodge this time, wonderful conversations with other guests from all over, same wonderful views, lake, boating, tennis and fresh Maine air. We even got sick of lobster; yes, that's possible. We will be back we hope come June again. We love love love this place and feel so lucky to come.

Spent the weekend here for a wedding and I must say, it was by far the best experience I've had at an outdoor wedding! Firstly, all boats, kayaks, canoes, etc were available for our use as we pleased. There was a boat tour at an extra charge, but worth it! Secondly, The staff ensured everyone was content at all times. They were courteous, happy, helpful! Thirdly, the cabins were clean, spacious, GORGEOUS! And comfy of course. Lastly, the reception was amazing! The same staff worked the bar and they were great! I honestly can't begin to explain how peaceful, beautiful, harmonizing this place was. I wish I could relive this weekend now that it's December and 20 degrees out! CANT WAIT TO GO BACK SOMEDAY! This is all based on my experience as a guest of a wedding. But I'd assume their regular summer camping is just as awesome!

If you're looking for an authentic Maine camp experience from yesterday then Migis Lodge is your place. Cabins are beautifully appointed with stone fireplaces and front porches facing the lake. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful and the food is great and varied. A total lake experience w kayaks, rowboats, etc. love the peace and pine.

I would rate Migis Lodge 10/10 stars if possible. Growing up my husband spent his summers at Migis and has always talked highly of this quintessential Maine spot. This year I called looking for a quick getaway and was lucky enough to reserve a cabin. I have called during previous summers and haven't been as lucky. I'm guessing my ability to book quickly this year was in part due to COVID. Nonetheless, Peggy (a wonderful employee of Migis who manages reservations) helped decide what cabin would be best. She even looked up my husband's family and their booking history to let me know where they had stayed before. I've seen comments about the cost and I was hesitant as well. That being said, after going and experiencing Migis Lodge I will never question the cost again. The cost is completely justified with what is included within your stay. COVID has impacted so many local business and has really been devastating to Maine's tourism. Migis has taken safety measures seriously. Young children seen scattered around the property all wearing masks without hesitation. Staff all compliant and washing hands often. Migis also left complimentary Migis themed masks and hand sanitizer. Never once did I feel uncomfortable. Our cabin was spotless when we arrived. Fresh flowers, clean white sheets, a stocked fire, and a bottle of champagne for my birthday. I've never seen a more well maintained property. Everything has its place and is in order. The property looks like a story book. Dinner was outside and the food was incredible. The food in itself is worth the stay. 5 stars. I would recommend bringing a tumbler or water bottle. There is a water station in the main lodge. If you don't have your own cup you can borrow a plastic cup or purchase a water bottle. I wish they had a few more water stations throughout the property. The ice was great to have around because we brought a small cooler with snacks. Unlimited ice upon request at the main lodge. The staff are all awesome. Young, hardworking, and friendly kids. They are observant and notice when you need something. I'm already planning my next trip.

"Migas" is Abenaki and means "a place to steal away and rest" and our group of 14 long time college friends could gave done that, but instead we enjoyed as many activities as we could squeeze in our few days at Migas. Boat rides, shuffle board, corn hole, hiking around, disc golf...on and on. Delicious food, comfortable rooms, wood fires, attentive service. We loved it! Oh, and Maggie in the dining room was superb!

Taking covid-19 seriously! Very Very considerate. Amazing place, beautiful scenery, we fell asleep to the sounds of loons. Delicious food and the free kayaks were awesome.

LOVED this place. I came here for my cousin's wedding and thought the cabins, the service and the food were excellent. The Migis Lodge is charming. I highly recommend. I will be back for sure maybe this Fall.

I got married at Migis Lodge in June and can't say enough great things. It is somehow rustic yet luxurious with insanely comfortable beds, gorgeous views across the lake out to the islands, open access to all of the boats and facilities, and SO MUCH DELICIOUS FOOD. You can tell that the helpful staff loves working there. I would do it all again in a heartbeat, it was that awesome. I had countless guests tell me it was the best wedding they have been to in their life. :-) The only inconvenience is that they do not accept credit cards so you need to remind everyone ahead of time to come prepared. I highly recommend Migis - we couldn't find another outdoor wedding venue that compared for a Maine destination wedding where everyone could relax and get to know each other. Migis made it easy for our vision to come true!

The owner makes rules that he can't keep including no dog policy and parking and there nothing for my kids to do because they are under 4 Its 20,000 cash! for 6 nights

This place is great! My brother got married here and the whole weekend was outstanding. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is magnificent, and the setting is gorgeous! Fresh ice and firewood brought to your cabin daily -- what's not to love?

What an amazing, scenic spot, with incredibly attentive staff and loads of outdoor activities to take part in. It's like camp for adults (and kids). The cabins are a great combination of rustic and luxe. The food flows freely and is worthy of any awarded restaurant. My girlfriend, daughter and I went for a long weekend. We all quickly made friends who we spent time with throughout our stay. The place is incredibly safe for children to roam around and feel independent. Everyone watches out for each other's children. Special thanks to Scott the manager who offered up his own car with a driver to take us to the airport after we forgot to order a car service. At Migis the answer is always "yes" and you're in awe of its natural beauty.

I went here just for dinner, not as a guest. They don't advertise that you can go for just a meal, but I live nearby and it is a great place to bring out of town friends to impress. We went for a Saturday night buffet; $45 a person (alcohol extra). We had a server for wine and to answer questions, but we still had to go up to the Buffet. This was actually a plus because the spread was great and I didn't feel guilty about getting seconds: lobster tails, prime rib, lots of seafood and salads. Key lime pie and lots of cookies for dessert. Delicious! Tips: I had to make a reservation because I am not a normal guest. We were put "in the back" of the dining room but still had a pretty good view of the lake and could hang out on their beautiful porch. - Dress code is a must. Men are required to wear jackets, tie optional. It's great and a bit surreal that places like this still exist - Cash or check ONLY. A little weird, but they push for "old fashioned" Also, we could have come earlier to pay for cocktails on the porch, and we were invited to stick around for a 9:30 pm fireworks show! I'm not sure if that happens every day though... Overall, a great local place to treat yourself or friends with very good food and old-fashioned, lake atmosphere.

The magic of Migis hits you when you're sunning on a float after a swim or skimming across the water on water skis. You feel 7 years old without a care in the world at summer camp. Except the food is delicious and you can drink as an adult. Great business model as activities are included in the expensive nightly rate. Guests don't have to sign out kayaks, canoes, paddle boards or sailboats. There's no release forms to sign or specific times to return equipment. Just grab and go. The downside (for me) is that this is a Family Resort. Read: tons of kids everywhere. They're running rampant like banchees because parents are on vacation, too. This means they'll bash into your shins to get to the cookies before you and cut in line when you're waiting to waterski. Not a great romantic getaway for child free couples like us. I would worship Migis if they had Adults Only week or a No-Children-Under-12 week. If that's scheduled, I'm in. Please note two weird things: they Do Not accept credit cards and a 15% service fee will be added, like it or not.

We were at the Migis for 4 days. Everything was great, whether is outstanding. When we found out that there is no key to lock our room while nobody is in, we were assured that this is very safe place. After having such a good time during these 4 days, on our way back to home my significant half discovered that she left her white gold earrings in the room, right on top of large dresser near the lamp. I immediately called back to service desk and explained situation. First she said that housekeepers left for a day (1 hour after checking out?), which already seamed to me suspicious. Then she told me that they'd call me back in few minutes. After 15 minutes of waiting in the car parked on the carb, I was told that there was nothing found in the room and they will talk to housekeepers next morning and let me know. Morning call told us that no one ever seen nothing. We are really disappointed.

We recently spent a week at Migis having a family reunion. When I returned and my friends asked about the trip, my standard repy was "I don't know how it could have gone better." The group at Migis did everything I could think of to make it an unbelievable week. Starting with making the reservation process during which Robyn worked diligently to fit our group of 70 into the right cabins and have everything that was needed. Then upon our arrival the owners and staff attended to every request including moving flower pots to make it easier for my 93 year old mother to use the handrails at the lodge, making some croissants for one of my sister when it they were not on the menu, and just generally providing great accommodations and an atmosphere that made it impossible not to have fun. Several of the younger family members (3-4 yrs old) cried when at the end of the week when they learned we had to leave. Shout out to Mary for taking all the great family photos and to Jed for all his attention and getting carts to take my mother back to the lodge from lunch. Migis is a great place with great food, great staff, and great accommodations

My cousin was married at Migis recently, and we absolutely loved it. Our three bedroom cabin, "South Wind" featured decks with a lake view on both the first and second floors. The beds were ridiculously comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious, and a guy came by to start a fire in our fireplace. If this is roughing it, I want in.

This place deserves ten stars! The most amazing, delicious, and classy place ever! The view for cocktail hour is just stunning. You sit at the lake and enjoy cheese and crackers. The cocktails are delicious, the atmosphere is sublime. It is expensive but its fantastic for dinner! You have to call ahead to make reservations. Jackets are also required for men.

My husband attended a conference here. The place was reserved just for the attendees. We had never been to Maine and this was a wonderful place to experience the beauty of the Maine countryside. The staff were extremely attentive. The weather was not kind--running 40 degrees. In spite of this, the staff had the outdoor fitness center, water sports (boat/canoe/kayak, tennis courts all available. The food was good---the blueberry pancakes and french toast with real maple syrup were winners. They will pack you a lunch if you go on a hike, of which there are many on the property. Note: they have a dress code for dinner which luckily we were not subjected to. The cabins varied in size and lighting--so take the time to investigate.

Since 1916, this woodland paradise has been welcoming visitors who seek a respite from their busy everyday lives. Many things have remained the same over the decades but owners Tim and Joan Porta (who bought it from Tim's parents in 1978), along with general manager son Jed, have updated the resort appropriately to ensure generations of families still return summer after summer to enjoy the wholesome splendor this classic resort offers. Set among 125 acres on the shores of crystal clear Lake Sebago, Migis maintains an air of timeless American values - the kind of place Ralph Lauren loves to emulate. But don't expect fancy designer digs with marble bathrooms. This is luxury of a different sort - of clean air, unlocked doors and no pressure to do anything at all except relax. While the individual cabins and six rooms in the lodge exude upscale casual comfort, the emphasis is on the beautiful natural setting and traditional activities.

The staff at Migis is a great group of people and what a wonderful Maine experience their guests receive! Beautiful location (like postcard views) and a rustic yet 5 start hotel feel. If you are coming to Maine for vacation Migis is certainly one of the best stays you'll find.
