The Mika Hotel is a well managed, comfortable, gated boutique hotel just off of Embassy Road, near the heart of UB.

The hotel is acceptable for the price that you pay. Bed was comfortable, wifi was good, hot water was available in the bathroom. The room floor, though, was apparently never vacuumed, and I could see strains of hair all over the place. No air-conditioning, so depended on outside air to cool down the room, which also let in the bugs. Breakfast was simple: bread, tea/coffee, eggs, sausages, porridge, etc. Dinner's availability depends on the cook. One evening the restaurant was closed because the cook was sick.

The hotel was fully renovated in 2024 and is located centrally with good parking. I like the new design of the hotel. It is very clean and spacious.

This is a new hotel in training. In my opinion, there are main basic needs that a guest needs mainly; safety, cleanliness, hot water and internet. The rest are called amenities or perks that separates a 3 star hotel to a 5 star hotel. An English speaking staff would be nice but not as critical as the others mentioned above. They have the cumbersome old fashioned keying system, a key that is hard to slide in the hole.||After two unpleasant surprises and a full day wasted from hotel hopping, I came to this place and hoping to settle. I was already in town, I called the hotel directly to inquire on rates. The manager wanted about 30% more so I booked online. I arrived and the front desk staff barely spoke English. I made it to my room, top floor. It was nice, clean and new room, I can still smell its newness. I even have a tiny kitchenette. The bed was so inviting with its bright white linen. Bath towels look brand new. ||During the day, I made calls to tour outside of town and found one to leave early morning. I explained to front desk that I will check out for one day and return the next and if I can leave my luggage in storage. It took so much effort for my tour guide to explain this. When I returned, they put me in the same room but it was not cleaned. They also had a hard time finding my luggage. Again, the tour guide translated. After a day sleeping at the ger with no shower, I was told there was no hot water in my room that I have to come down to a different room to shower. Do I have a choice? I came down and waited for a good 20 minutes for the water to turn luke warm. For a country that is very cold, they seem to be content with luke warm shower. But I do not know if they realize that a foreigner may not be accustomed to that. Or I am not sure if this is a 3 star water requirement. It may be different from a 5 star. But so far, I have encountered this luke warm water since I arrived and also the other hotel. There was no luke warm water there, just plain cold. ||Upon my return, the power went out in the middle of the night. The internet has been down all day. This happened two days in a row so far. ||It seems I am the only foreigner here and I did not see any other guests. I do not recommend but then I am not sure if other hotels are any better. ||The lady at the front desk did not speak good English. So I showed her how to use the translator online and she was happy. Perhaps she can communicate with future guests better. ||NOTE: There is kitchenette but not all the rooms.

This hotel has seen its better days. Stayed here 5 nights on 3 occasions in 2 weeks. Water was Luke warm at best and only for 5 minutes. The staff are nice, breakfast is boring, but the wireless is good, as it works in your room. There are probably so many better options now wit so many new hotels for you to stay at. Good location, near the square, and not noisy!

It's better for you to rent a yurt. Or go to some other hotel. The room is dirty, the shower is clogged, shower pan has garbage returning from sink . After complaint they "cleaned it". Gunk was returning for days. Room is cleaned randomly, nobody comes for 3-4 days and then "cleaned" two days in a row. 0 🌟 For WiFi they use one cheap tp-link per floor, what's worse they are on factory settings, just changed SSID. Network connection is at best 5/2M, randomly going to 8000+ ms latency every few minutes. (One star just because it sometimes works after restart, otherwise zero) 1 🌟 Staff speaks zero foreign language, if you speak mongol you'll be fine. 0 🌟 Restaurant serves breakfast randomly between 8:05 - 8:20, one day they just stopped serving coffee. Instead they give us bags with instant latte. 1 🌟 Location is very good. Five minutes on foot to the main city square. 5 🌟
