Absolutely love this place! The vibes are always on point — laid-back, fun, and full of good energy. Domenico is an amazing bartender: super friendly, welcoming, and his service is top-tier. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a good time. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great bar with a great culture. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The female bartender was so great. I forgot her name, but she looked out for me the entire night. I’m not from NYC, and she treated me well. Whenever I went to the bathroom, she covered my drinks until I got back. She was the only one working the entire time I was there and I appreciate her service.

Great hole in the wall place. Super honest pricing - pint of draft was $6!!!! In this part of town!! Great bartender, good chat. Would defo come back if in the hood. Take care, brush your hair!

One of the LAST true dive bars. Expect to meet what is left of the real NYC characters. Pay a visit. Bring cash. Get smashed. Be glad you did when they build a chrome and glass tower there.

Fun spot, the bartender and the local regulars were a lot of fun. Great local hometown spot to have a drink and just chill. They def made us felt welcomed and we had a great evening with everyone we met that evening.

This is one of the last true dive bars in the neighborhood. The staff are lovely, the ambience is perfect. Always visit here when I'm back home. They don't have a bar menu (other than chips) but they're cool if you order food from elsewhere. Rolling Rock + Well Shot is a good deal. It's on the dark side inside but if you're with company or befriend the bartender you'll have a wonderful time.

Dive bars have always been the wifes and I favorite type of bar. Milanos is just that and in the best way possible. We happened upon this bar while visiting and were immediately smitten. The bartender was easy talking and provided some history of the bar. Great prices and cold beer are the best combination. (Disregard cheating wife in video)

Solid dive bar! Came here because we were looking for a spot to watch the Knicks playoff game and other bars were packed. Milano's had the tv in the back playing the game. Good variety of music played. Two beers were $14. They don't accept card for anything less than $20.

Seedy style dive bar that you might not actually get into because the volume of available space is very limited ... check, check, check, check. This was a great first stop on our bar hopping. And I'd say, "Enjoy!" if you're lucky enough to get a seat. If you're boujee - skip it; this is not for you. If you wanna be seen - skip it; this is not for you.

One of the truly great dive bars in NYC (I mean that as a massive compliment). Milano's is a wonderful throwback. The staff are amazing. The beers are...well, they'll get you drunk at a bargain. If I lived closer, this would absolutely be my spot.

The bartender walked by us THREE times and refused to serve us. When we asked for beers, the bartender said "possibly"?!!! They are extremely rude and I wouldn't feel bad if this place closes down. This used to be such a great bar and it's run by a group of miserable bartenders who hate their life.

My wife and I met some friends from Europe in NY just before Christmas. I needed a drink and couldn't be bothered with all the fancy bars in fancy hotels so picked Milano's Bar, WOW what a great choice. the place is exactly what I was looking for a typical old time dive bar. The staff were awesome and the beer was cold, what more do you need. see you next time.

According to my NYC connection, this bar has been here for 140 years. I'm guessing that's 'give or take' a few years. Long narrow room, 2/3 of one side is the bar, the other 3rd is seats and walking between seats and the wall. Although space is at a premium, the bar staff (just the one, plus the manager) is friendly and attentive. It's dark, no frills, loud and basically a NYC local watering hole. What's not to love?

I had a drink in this place and the manager came into the girls bathroom cursed out my friend and I then also kicked us out because we were using the bathroom.

Cold beer, decent prices, live music. Gotta love a NYC Dive Bar. They call it bellying up because you've got to press against it to let people pass. It's that narrow. Nice and dark and dank. Honesty surprised I don't see hash stickers on the wall. Very strict COVID vaccination protocol.

walked right in with no line with a group of four girls.. sat down at a table and the bartender came over to take our drink order. we ordered 2 tequila sodas and he told us that 3 of us had to be drinking to be sitting there..... didn't realize these were new rules these days when over half the tables were empty on a friday night! now we see why. two of the girls are sober and are working on going out and enjoying themselves without the need to drink so this was extremely disappointing, along with the disrespect! will not be back here, and remember 75% of your party needs to be consuming alcoholic beverages in order to sit at one of the many unoccupied tables!

Milano's, for those who know, as the sign on the front door says ! Love the old-school vibe. No pretense, easy, great place to get a cocktail and relax. A mix of regulars, visitors and tourists, lovely bartender and a great jukebox. We stopped in for a mid day cocktail. Will definitely return, now that I know!

The vibe is pretty cool here. If you're looking for a more refined/uppity crowd this is definitely not the place for you. Upon walking in you are immediately at the bar. The bartender today was not making any excuses for who she was and I was totally down for it! She wasn't overly friendly and was just being her. Pros: -Cheap Prices Cons: It's like a railroad apartment style bar. It's straight through and narrow.

I have been going into this bar for about two years Had some interesting experiences, but always positive Until three months ago I entered this bar after having not been in the bar for about a year Never had a problem in this bar ever always tipped And never called the problem I walked in a couple of months ago to watch the basketball playoff game. I was going to the back of the bar to put my bag down because the bar is extremely narrow and the TV that was showing the games towards the back. Before I can even get back there to put my bag down and order a drink, the bartender told me I can't come in here. She told me I have been coming in here to just use the bathroom and cause problems she was lying and then she realize her so-called mistake. It wasn't a mistake. She is racist and I've had issues with her before but never to this extent when I told this to the manager he didn't say anything and he said he trusted his bartender. She was highly disrespectful. She yelled distance to the bar everybody heard it. She tried to give me a free drink to apologize, and I refuse to take it racist

Great place to hang out with friends, drinks, chips, did I mention drinks? And awesome atmosphere!! Stop in and have few. Happy hour all day everyday and wide variety.

Hands down my favorite NYC dive bar. It's one of those old places with a lot of character and history. Not yuppified or hipsterized. Generally cool locals.

This is such a chill dive bar. We love day drinking especially if we have off during the week. This place opens at 8am!!! Every bartender we have encountered is really social. I wish I remember the first guy's name- he immediately told us his name and super friendly. Music is great!!! If you want to be able to have a few drinks- chill and just hang a little with or without friends this is an ideal place. It's been many years since we came here in the evening so I can't tell you how busy it is during those hours but this is a perfect destination for an afternoon delight!!!

My feet were tired and I needed a drink without a stiff price so I yelped away and this place showed up. They do accept card but cash is always encouraged. They had a $6 special on the Rose Cider which I naturally inclined to. The mister had a beer with a whiskey shot for $8 which is a great bargain in the city. It's a dive bar but it serves its purpose. The stench of armpit smell overcame the air as I walked in but it went away shortly after as I guzzled down my drink. The bathroom was surprisingly very clean and the bartender was sweet and attended us quickly. There's something about old, dingy, and dusty dive bars that will always attract my attention which is why I ended up here to begin with. Everything surrounding it is boojy top-notch corporate spots where a drink will run you twice the price so don't make a mistake and spend more when you don't need to.

This place is the definition of a dive bar and I was A-Okay with that. If you are looking for something that's not a dive bar, go somewhere else. As soon as you walk in you are at the bar and the overall place is about as narrow as an alley way. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. They had a $6 special where you got a rolling rock and a shot of rail liquor--a great way to drink cheap while in NYC. In the back is a juke box and slightly more standing room place. I would have given this place 5-stars if it wasn't for the bathrooms which hands down have to be the WORST restrooms in NYC. You don't expect gold-plated porcelain when in a dive bar, but the saloon-style bathroom doors with a shareable water trough one exiting made me think they would have been better served by just dropping an out-house out front. Overall though a great experience and I would come back.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BAR?!?!? We used to like this bar and used to like the bartenders / manager. The bartender we had on saturday night was AWFUL. Terribly rude. She didn't want to take anyones order & when we asked for the beer and shot she was irritated by that. Just incredibly rude and pissed off from start to finish. Usually we have Dave and he's incredible. We were in a group of 8 and one girl hadn't ordered a drink yet (we were there for a couple minutes) and the manager rudely said "this isn't table service get out if you're not buying a drink". We used to take visitors to this bar because it's cheap and has some history. Next time we will go next door to Botanica instead. After years of coming here we will never be back.

Like an Alley Indoors Found this spot randomly, it looked like a good place for a relaxed drink.. and it actually was! Decent environment, good choice of drinks and nice people around. The only issue is for a very old bar in NYC it's quite pricey. Beers are 6 or 7 bucks and drinks are 9. Usually joints like this own their location and you catch a deal, not at this place. The place is very lowly lit and has a narrow walking space to get by the bar upon entrance. Reminds me of drinking in an alley. If your walking by and want to grab a drink this place will do. Thanks

Milano's looks like a miserable place from the outside. But boy do they have a great happy hour or its that bar that's cheap enough to come in at any hour. It's a fun dive bar that likes to also pay homage to Liam Neeson's 'Michael Collins' movie or just the Irish with a decent selection of music. You will be hard pressed to find anything over $6. Being in not so happy of a mood near the Halloween season I finally gave this spot a chance (I remember because they elegantly decorated their lampshades with little bats). Though, I could be mistaken in that those bats are a permanent fixture on the lampshades. Only one way to find out and go back. Beer can and a shot is usually around $6. Actual happy hour is a dollar off everything until 7pm in the bar, which has actually been around since 1880 (little known fact). Milano's remains one of the oldest traditional as you get dive bars in this city. Let's pray it remains. I tried some kind of fruit punch concoction the bar had mixed up in honor of the autumnal season on my visit and it packed a wallop of a punch (literally) for only $5. I don't know if this is a regular thing. But it should be. Good variety of canned beers, decent on tap selection for a dive, and cheap well drinks made decently. No food sold but they sell bags of chips for like a buck. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out for at least a beer.

There's no mistaking Milano's for anything but a dive. Ripped chairs, mismatched light fixtures, photos plastered all over - mercifully, their bathroom's decent. The bar's chock-full of personality and punch, as is its owner and bartenders. Hell, even the motley crew of patrons I chatted with were all kind of awesome[1]. Whether or not you're not the most intelligent conversationalist, you'll probably be jamming to their jukebox[2]. Don't be afraid to make friends; it's close quarters here. Knock back a shot, a bomb, or beers without breaking the bank. They take credit cards[3], and an ATM's in the back. [1] Your mileage will vary, obviously. Shout out to the tall Brit! [2] If only they had room for a live band. [3] There may be a credit card minimum. If so, I have no idea what it is.

I came in here alone after catching up with a friend who works at a nearby start-up in Soho (haha, surprise, surprise) and needed a place where I could kill about 2-3 hours as I waited for some other friends to meet me for happy hour catch-up drinkie poos. I wasn't looking for a pretentious bar, just something that wasn't going to break the bank and who's booze selection would satisfy my palate. I left here with 3 new friends and yes, one of them was the bartender who was one of the sweetest female bartenders I've ever met and I'm absolutely kicking myself for not being able to recall her name (my gut says it began with a "J", but MAN, I cannot remember for the life of me!). Milano's is a dark and gritty divey bar that manages to make you feel as if NYC hasn't completely lost its 90s character. After having sat there alone, made friendsies with the 2 gruff men next to me, not at all having been hit on or disrespected and watching the female bartender attend to everyone efficiently and without pretense, flirting or any sort of sugarcoating I felt that this was going to become my home away from home now that this was also my new work neighborhood. This place is also way cooler than anything that my old work neighborhood of Colombus Circle/Hell's Kitchen has to offer if you're just looking for a place to throw a few back and call it a day. She even charged my iPhone at the bar which was awesome because my battery was so low that I couldn't even power my phone on... #FirstWorldProblems If I remember correctly (cuz yanno - oy!), the happy hour here really just meant $1 off all beers and well drinks. While this may not be the world's best happy hour, the prices here are so low - especially given their location, I mean SOHO pffffffft - that happy hour prices aren't even really required here. For about $6 I ordered a tall boy of PBR and it came with a house whiskey shot - and NO the house whiskey was actually NOT bad. Not bad at all folks. For $6 I was totally put in my happy place :). The guy next to me also sprung to order Chinese food and even paid for my steamed pork dumplings order - which also happened to be the BEST STEAMED PORK DUMPLINGS I'VE EVER HAD FROM A FAST-FOOD CHINESE PLACE. For serious. Thin wrappers much? Delicious flavorful pork? Yep. MAN, I wish I knew the name of the place we ordered from! Lol. Oy. Come to think of it, there is a lot of I don't remember from this afternoon - which means that Milano's clearly did their job well. 5 stars for keeping it real, providing patrons with menus to order food and for having actual friendly regulars at the bar counter, I LOVE THAT. I'm sure I'll definitely be back here and SOON! :D

Typical NYC dive bar experience. Decent beer selection and prices. Small inside, but you'll likely be able to find a place to sit with a small group. Gets kind of loud but that's pretty typical for a bar on a Friday night. The lady bartender wasn't very attentive, didn't acknowledge us while we waited to order (with no one else in line ahead of us), and took a long time to serve us overall. There was a guy bartender who eventually took over, and he was nice and served us our drinks pretty fast.

I have never eaten here. I'm not entirely sure they even serve food. However, they have excellent taste in their ambiance as well as music selection. It is so good, I would patronise this venue without even knowing exactly what it is they sell. I can't want to walk in and hear and kick ass music.

If you are looking for a small nyc dive bar. A bar that has been around for ever then this may be your spot. It may not have the urinals like old town tavern, the fame of mc Sorleys or the lights like Pete's tavern but has old world charm. Drink up and be merry.

I've walked by Milano's plenty of times. I usually have just kept going to Avenue A or literally anywhere else. Chances are you've done the same. However, if you choose to take a risk you'll find the reward to be a great dive bar. It's cramped with what I assume are regulars, but you can probably find some standing room in the back. Drinks aren't too crazy pricey, and it'll be the perfect spot to take your night of bar hopping to the next level.

We stumbled across this great bar while out sight seeing in NYC and ready to have a couple of drinks. . Don't let the outside fool you. It looked a little scary-ish from the outside but we went and head a cane inside. I am so glad we did. The bar was very unique in that it is so narrow it cracked us up making our way to the far back. There were only 2 seats left at the far end of the bar. We grabbed them and ordered 2 dirty martinis. While the bartender bitched about makes no them, they were the best martinis we had had since arriving in NYC. The bartender was very put out (I think she was semi-joking but semi-serious too) she ended up making us a couple of more. If you get a chance to visit this bar it is a true "dive bar" but it has so much character it is a must visit. The bathroom is very interesting in this bar as well. It is a little tricky trying to figure out how to get the privacy you need. Very entertaining place!

I actually stumbled on this place by accident. We were looking for a different bar but we couldn't find it so we went into this one. The bartenders name was Dave and he works on Tuesdays and Sundays. He is so chill and a really great person to chat with. Very much enjoyed my brief conversation with him. The bar itself is dimly lit and has a long bar at the front of the place, and a couple small tables in the back. It's a hole in the wall but it is one of those small places that you just feel so at home with as soon as you walk in. It's mostly an older crowd, but I would come back here probably just to see Dave and have those Sunday and Tuesday chill nights.

Been coming here for years, figured I'd write a review. This place is a gem in the middle of the big-box, corporatized, high rent-blighted area that is Soho. The bartenders are so cool and approachable, and will treat you well provided you're not an asshole. Even then, I've seen them be more patient that I certainly would be. That's class, y'all. I don't frequent this place as much as I'd like, because as someone said before, the prices are on the high side for a dive bar. I like those $6 and under joints. I can pack a few away in no time, and I have retirement to save for. That being said, the prices are totally warranted considering the overhead of what I'm sure is astronomical rent. My one wish is that there was a skip button for some of the straight up trash that comes on the TouchTunes (not the staff's fault obviously). I know it's possible, I've seen bartenders do it at other bars. Just sayin'... As with any gem in this city, I rue the day that this place closes its doors. I hope it's not anytime soon.

It's tight passage explodes to an open hightop table area adjacent to old west bar doors to the men and womens' latrines. Random photos plaster the walls and the bar is tended by a fierce siren who will lure you with her infectious smile and serene personality. The bar is just that, a bar. Nothing more and nothing less. No food. Just drinks. Cue the bar maiden lady who just dialed in pizza from Sorento's, which was AH-MAY-ZING! THIS is what New York City is all about, folks. The shittiest lookin' bars have the most beautiful personalities making this bar one of my favorites. For you tourists? Wall ok by and go gawk at Olive Garden because THAT'S real Italian.

This place is about as dive bar as they come. Walking into Milano's is like walking into another era of NYC, a place that just doesn't exist anymore. Aside from the fact that you can pay with a credit card, I don't think much has changed here since the 70's. And that isn't a bad thing. I truly love walking into a seedy dive bar*, but even more so when said dive isn't trying to be one. I think that's case in point with Milano's; they stopped giving a shit a long time ago, and it works for them. Considering the neighborhood, that is quite the feat too. This space by now "should' be a boutique coffee bar, clothes shop for rich folks, or you know, an ATM...but its not. its a no frills get your drink on dive, and for that I am exceedingly grateful. 3* for being seedy and fun 1* for not having been turned in to a Starbucks. Great little escape from the heat of the day with a live band playing and a pint. The beer could have been colder, and that is the one star deduction. This really is a dive bar with a great old wooden bar so if you are looking for something upscale this ain't your place.

Awesome laid back bar to enjoy your beer. My favorite part is the people who come here. Least favorite is the fact that we sat in the back of the bar right by the bathrooms. The problem is that the doors don't close completely (there's an opening in the top) so the smell goes through and we could smell everything. So just a tip, definitely go there but don't take the tables in the back.

Great little divey spot. The bartender the other night, Lisa, busted my chops the second I walked in - in a GOOD way! Not sure if it was the night of the week or time, but it was mostly dudes in there. I'd give it five stars but the tap beer was warm AF.

Definitely a dive and in a good way. Dark, narrow bar with an OK beer and liquor selection. Went there yesterday for the first time and it was an experience. It was relatively quiet when we got there with just a few regulars and the bartender chatting. That quiet was broken when another regular came rolling in extremely drunk saying how he didn't have any money but wanted a drink. Oh, and that someone in a store told him he smelled like shit. He proceeded to try to convince the bartender that he gets paid soon and when he does he'll pay his tab and buy "a mountain of coke" and that he would get some heroin but his girlfriend said she'd leave him if he did. To her credit, the bartender refused him service and told him to leave. As he did, it was clear to everyone there that he had indeed shit himself. I'll definitely be going back here.

After roaming thru Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo, who doesn't need a drink? This was the closest dive bar I found near SoHo (it's on Houston Street, close enough?). Milano is a uber dive - ol' school cash register, great juke box, lovely bartender with a stiff pour named Michelle, it's heaven. There is nothing to hate about this place, except for this English tourist couple at the end of the bar flaunting about their lavish shopping spree. #Douchy If I lived anywhere near SoHo, this joint would be my absolute go to. Picture The Graduate in Oakland without the sriracha popcorn, in a darker setting - out comes your Milano Bar. Tip: $20 min credit card charge.

I have been a local at this bar for ages. I have never had a single problem and then today, I came in as I always do with my friends who had never been to NYC. I was greeted with a woman who demanded tip when our tab was not closed out because her shift was over. When we said we wanted to keep the tab open and wait to close it due to us only having a drink for under five mins. She proceeded to eavesdrop on our conversation when I said I didn't like how she spoke to my friend and accosted us over the tip and how she 'deserved' it for serving us each a drink less than a few mins prior. Another bartender then proceeded to come over and tell us to leave because I told the woman to not be rude. Long story short, the bartenders are entitled, rude, people that don't even deserve the tab to be paid. I will not ever bring my money here again after this. Such a shame when an old school NY bar suffers from rude staff. She was the woman with glasses and an accent. She deserves to be fired for her presumption, rudeness, and overall greediness for a $4 tip.

Small dive bar with friendly patrons. The bartender lacks....everything. 4 stars for everything except her sh&t head attitude. Here's a tip, if you want a tip don't be a dick to your patrons. Luckily it was not just us but people who came after us as well.

Definition of dive bar. Milano's seems like it has a lot of regulars, and the bartenders are super friendly. Drinks are very affordable and they're very generous with both the alcohol proportions as well as the overall portions. Tiny tiny bathroom. Tiny bar. Quite loud. Didn't spend too much time here, as we moved on to our next destination, but if you're looking for an efficient and affordable pregame, Milano's has your back.

Fantastic, weird, awkward at times with more than enough personality... Smells like history (in a good way), and is littered with stickers like scars of times past in NYC. It's narrow in a way that I kind of adore - because you walk the corridor. The drinks are stiff, and the humour is rich. I can't find fault in it, rather a bit of magic in it, at the end of any amble down Houston Street, as night falls over New York.

Best place to have a beer with or without your people; non-friendly no BS kind of place. If you get out of line, you will be put in your place, no one cares who you are or who you think you are. This ain't Cheers

Been here a couple of times. Great dive bar the Irish lady server always gets the drinks just right ;) You can always walk in grab a table in the back and enjoy your time there with friends. I always stop by when I'm in Soho. See you soon Milano's

My gf and I had just finished slamming a piece of Prince Street pizza and we needed a beer stat. I Yelped "dive bar" and this showed up first. Thank heavens I did because this was the EXACT kind of dive bar we were looking for: old, dark, gay-friendly, and has Smithwicks on tap. Good music, fast and sassy bartenders and some sports on here and there. If you like real dive bars and are sick of the hip bar scene in NY come in here for a good ol' pint.

Somebody Please call "Bar Rescue" and Save this place. Or let it fade away with some respect. The staff still continues to give all attention to the front corner gang of old timers and buddies. Maybe New bartenders would bring back the life to the place. Are you listening mister manager . At best there are 1 or friendly staff members. The rest are rude or alcoholic or rude alcoholics usually doing more shots than patrons. Even the once friendly staf has become obnoxious. And this was at onetime MY favorite bar. This has become a place thar gives Dive bars a bad reputation.
