Amazing small restaurant with a small bit excellent menu of seasonal dishes. Each plate was exquisitely prepared with an interesting and new take on traditional dishes. The use of eastern ingredients in western dishes was refreshing. Serving a non local red wine was bold but worth it! A must visit restaurant! FYI: the menu is in French but the team spoke excellent English.

Almost Perfect. The restaurant, staff and the chef's were all excellent. The restaurant hade a nice decor and felt very intimate. You saw the chef's plating your food which gave that special touch. The flavours and the presentation of the food was excellent! I ate my best ever cod in Miles! Just was really amazing. But, the food seamed little misplaced from. We received and amazing scallop, but also a black pudding with BBQ sauce. It really did not correspond with the theme. Also, the dessert did not really fit in. I was also little disappointed with the wine pairing, the pairing worked great. But there was no wines from Bordeaux. Which is something I expected coming to the capital of wine. Make sure to book before you go! The menu was 55€ and the wine pairing was 25€. Great price for "high cuisine" I would absolutely go again!

Very creative dishes. They only have a set menu which the chef makes up. It is very varied and brought out at a nice pace. When you call for a reservation and they tell you they are seating you at the counter, don’t be disappointed, it is a treat. You get to see the chefs cook and plate the meals right in front of you. They make it look deceptively simple. Reservations are a must, but we managed to get them on the day so it’s worth calling to check even if you didn’t plan it in advance.

AMAZING! One of the best meals of my life! Each dish better than the next in the 5 course surprise tasting menu. And the wine was also delicious. My favorite dishes were gnocchi with artichoke and eggplant caviar with corn and a fried poached egg (duck for the meat eaters). They did a great job modifying the meat and fish plates for a vegetarian like me and my husband loved the meat as well. This was truly a delicious experience!

Google
Perfectly executed 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings. We sat at the counter, which seemed initially like a negative, but ended up being great - enabling us to watch the team prepare each course. The service was great - helpful, informative, and hospitable. Food was highly creative and the wine pairings were so well done.

An amazing culinary experience that absolutely ranks as the best and most innovative meal I've ever had. So much so that I forgot to take a picture of one of my plates, so the four pictures I've included are the meals I forced myself to document before eagerly consuming. The wines paired beautifuly with the food as well. The only "option" on the menu is whatever 5 course tasting menu the chef has imagined, and flawlessly executes every aspect of each plate - never over or under cooking anything. Well worth the cost (which isn't anywhere close to what you'd pay for a similar experience in Paris), and worth a visit while in Bordeaux.

We’d heard of this place after a little bit of research, but didn’t manage to organise a reservation before heading to Bordeaux. Luckily we managed to get the last two seats at the counter when we arrived, and so glad we did. This place was brilliant. The food was faultless, and the service and the atmosphere fantastic. For the evening meals, you get a 5-course (“5 Mile”) menu (a mixture of veg, fish and meat courses, plus a dessert), so the only choices you have to make are on the drinks (unless you do the wine -pairing, which we didn’t). The food is prepped and cooked in full sight of all the customers in the middle of the restaurant, which adds a little theatre. And while it’s not a new concept to do this, it’s great seeing the skill, the care and the people cooking the food for you. It also creates a sense of anticipation as they plate-up the food in-front of everyone so you’re trying to identify what’s next! Every course served was the perfect size, perfectly seasoned and perfectly balanced with flavours. The cuisine itself was a surprise as it was quite eastern in flavour and ingredients. I didn’t really have any expectations on what I’d be eating, but this was a surprise and a very pleasing one. This is genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had and highly recommend to anyone visiting Bordeaux. Especially with the clear passion and dedication of everyone working at this restaurant. On a final point, try the Portuguese Aphros white wine. It’s delicious.

Flavours are clean and precise. It’s contemporary but presentation may fool you, but it’s absolutely delicious and honest. On top of my list for Bordeaux.

Yelp
Wasn't as enthralled as others, and not sure its worth a Michelin star, but otherwise it was good. I loved the ambiance in the restaurant: simple, dark, open kitchen. Flaws: The skin of the sea bass in the fish course was flabby (not crispy). The pork was "held" too long, and therefore dry. The octopus was quite rubbery. Positives: The asparagus w/ cocoa and coffee nibs was divine; this flavor combination was quite unfamiliar to me. The wine pairings were all lovely, and a great compliment to the dishes.

Yelp
I have never had a fine dining experience before so I was excited when we were able to secure reservations for two the evening of Bastille day! Initially, we had trouble figuring out how to make reservations because their Facebook "book now" option wasn't working and there wasn't clear instructions on their website. Fortunately, my friend was able to email them and they responded promptly, which we appreciated! ***For your information, they take their last reservation at 10pm so be sure to have at least 2 hours of time to enjoy your time here! Email for reservations as that seems to be the quickest way to get a response. Perhaps it was because it was Bastille day but we did not have the option of choosing what number of courses we wanted. So we went with the "5 Miles" and the wine pairing. This was €70 per person (€48 for the food and €22 for the wine). We asked to be seated in front of the kitchen so we could watch the chefs as they prepared our food. They were able to accommodate us. Two complimentary starters were brought to us to try: 1) Italian bread with smoked paprika - it reminded me of cornbread but less dense and lighter. 2) Beef carpaccio with oyster and seaweed - took me by surprise, it was quite tasty for being raw meat in essence! For the actual 5 course meal (as of July 14, 2017); these may not be complete in their description as I was typing these notes down as the chef and waitress were explaining to us! 1) White tuna sashimi with dashi broth, watermelon marinated in soy sauce, and tomato skin tempura 2) Green bean salad with almonds, cheese foam, topped with jelly made from hisbiscus and figs 3) Monkfish with gnocchi and artichoke, dried olives, and roasted lemon gel 4) Roasted/pan seared duck with caramelized eggplant on top of an eggplant and soysauce purée, sweet corn and red pepper salad, and duckling 5) White chocolate ganache paired with apricot chili jam, black seasame ice cream, and a green tea/matcha cake For the wine, we were given 3 whites to try and 1 red for the 4th course. I cannot recall what we tried to be honest! Being seated right in front of the chefs was an amazing experience you cannot miss out on. You see them plate with such precision and care, each element that's necessary to make the dish whole. We tried to guess what was what but failed for the most part. It was such a delight to watch them work their magic to bring everyone delicious and beautiful food. The chef was also able to describe our dish to us in detail more than once, which you will not get if you sit at a table. When we had questions about something, the chefs were very receptive and more than happy to explain to us. Overall, the food tasted so well-balanced to us! Combinations of flavors and textures I never would have thought of trying worked splendidly together. Nothing was overpowering and I believe every component of the dish complimented each other and had a purpose. My favorites were the last two courses, the duck and the dessert. I can't remember ever having anything that extraordinary. Words can't do those dishes justice nor photos. It was an absolute pleasure to have been served by these young and talented chefs. I wish them the best for their bright future! I highly recommend trying Miles if you have the chance! Make your reservations ASAP, set aside 2 hours, and enjoy this culinary experience!

Yelp
This is the best restaurant I tried so far in Bordeaux! Price is very reasonable for the quality of food and service. There is only one menu at night. 5 surprise courses for 38€. My menu was the following : - amuse bouche: cauliflower and granola - amuse bouche: carpaccio de bar (fish) - first appetizer: mushroom tortellini - second appetizer: langoustine (sort of crowfish) - first entree: Lotte (fish) - second entree: canette (female duck) - dessert: wow!! Delicious mix of caramel, kumquat, Coco, coffee and chocolate. The dessert and canette were my two favorites. Mushroom tortellini was good but I felt the tortellini were not cooked equally. Service was good and steady. It took less than 2 hours total. The only issue was that they didn't register at first my girlfriend's langoustine allergie so they had to ask again if langoustine was okay and it was not. Apart from this glitch the service is nice and waiter is kind. Ambiance is good and quiet. We were the first to arrive at exactly 7:30 for our dinner. There is a set of tables and a table along the kitchen (similar to sushi places). The kitchen is visible from the tables and you can see them cook and plate. This helped making me excited trying to guess what was going to be in the next course ! You need to book to ensure a table.

Yelp
wow. just wow. we actually searched for a small restaurant to eat some lunch before we left bordeaux. my wife found this restaurant and it looked very good so we went there to see if its open already. the people were very nice and were still cleaning. so we made a reservation for the earliest time for lunch Food: you can sit at the bar and the food will be prepared directly in front of you! every dish looked amazing and tasted amazing!! if theres a restaurant i can say where you HAVE TO go in bordeaux. its this one!! it was a really nice ending to our travel in bordaux. Service: Very nice and professional people. you really see theyre having fun with what theyre doing! Atmosphere: nicely decorated! it has a modern-japanese touch!

Yelp
Exceptionally talented chef. A single prix fixe menu with serious innovation and creativity. Service--impeccable, and English-adept. They change half the menu every week, resulting in a complete shift every two weeks. Between the owners and chef the have culinary influences from France North Africa, Vietnam and Japan. It's simple a marvel of new cuisine and is not to be missed! We'll join you on our next pass through Bordeaux!

Yelp
My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience at Miles. Each dish was creatively prepared and beautifully platted. The tastes were flavorful and well executed. We were impressed as we watched the chef and his sous chefs work their magic!

Yelp
After several over the top dinners, Miles was exactly what the family needed - good food in a slightly more casual atmosphere. A fantastic tasting menu, (they rotate every two weeks), with a nice variation of paired wines. The staff was friendly, professional, but warm and down to earth. Miles was able to accommodate my Grandmother's food allergies with minimal problems, while making their intimate space almost feel like a multi-table dinner party. I could have used larger pours on the pairings, but I think that every time. As a bonus, the staff was well versed in English - never part of my rating, but something good to know.
