Milhouse Hostel Hipo

The worst hostel Ive ever been to. Ive traveled many places in the world, and I’ve NEVER been yelled to in a hostel or hotel. In this hostel they dont tell their workers we are GUESTS, we are paying for the service and that we should be treated with kindness and always listen. The person that stays at night is an ‘old’ man super rude, who has an angry look in his face and doesnt make you feel welcome. on whatsapp? When i made the complaint ofc they said ‘sorry’ but then what? Nothing. They didnt even tried to do something to remend the situation. They keep trying to be on their worker side, saying he is old and don’t understand things. But well, he is working right? So he is a total capable man. ||||It was my first vacation in Latin America, i was expecting a lot from the hostel, but i didnt event stay much there, so i didnt give them ANY kind of trouble. I was always nice, polite and did my best to keep myself organized. Booked a 15d private room, but even if was in a 8 beds shared room, it is no excuse to treat anyone like they treated me. And i direct this to the hostel and not to the person, because they have to tell their workers how they should treat their guests. It was an humiliation to be alone in a foreign country and suddenly late at night have man yelling at you in a place i paid more than my rent to be. I feel terrible.

I had a great time staying here. Was here during the holidays and what really makes this hostel stand out is the people and its parties. The other milhouse hostel (which you have access to if you stay at this one) has a very busy bar. It was really convenient to party there at the start of the night to find a group to go clubbing with at the end of the night. The staff are also very nice and speak great English. I wonder if they try to rip you off though, like with low exchange rates.

Avoid this hostel. Terrible value for money, and the hostel only allows you to pay the blue dollar rate so paying in cash isn't cheaper. I booked originally through hostel world and then extended in person and was charged $34 for 2 beds for the extra night (which is way more than hostel world) and they charged my card without telling me this price. The kitchen is barely useable, and the fridge had mouldy produce in it. The room had no air conditioning, despite the website saying they did, and for some reason they took all the sheets of the bed everyday, so we had to remake our beds every night (????). The location was nice and the roof terrace is was a lovely place to hang out, but there are so many hostels in Buenos Aires many of which are nicer!

The rooms are really big and mine (8-bed girls) had two bathrooms!!! Even with all the luggage we had space to walk around. Everything is really clean and you feel comfortable. Food and drinks in the hostel are really cheap & good! That's what I liked most about it. Normally the prices for drinks and food are insane. It's easy to meet new people and the atmosphere in the evenings is good. ||||The staff is nice and the hostel is in the city center. I would definitely come again!

Staff are absolutely incredible. Perfect central location. Nice big lockers in room. Big airy rooms. Hostel conveniently offers city tours and experience (bit are not pushy). Nice little bar. Beautiful balcony for my 8 bed dorm. The street does have a few clubs so it can get a bit loud. The pillows aren't great.

I stayed here while working remotely in BA. I think this is probably the best place if you want to spend a few weeks in BA while working remotely. They have an office right above the lobby. It has pretty fast internet. It's also pretty quiet for a conference call. I booked for a month and I got a good deal on it. I'd stay here again next time.

All in all, a decent hostel and a good stay, would happily recommend although a mild warning/reminder that this is a party hostel.||||We had a twin private en suite which was in the private courtyard area, the room was very clean on arrival and was cleaned daily. Had everything you needed and would expect for the price. The rooms were all quiet at night as well as they are separated from the main hostel area. ||||All the staff were really friendly and would help with whatever you needed. Location was ok I’d say, depending on what you want; it was a bit intense directly around the hostel area but nothing to complain about. Food was good as well, and oh yes the roof terrace was a pretty decent place to work out or chill out with a book.||||The only thing to remember is that this is a party hostel and depending what you’re after, I’d suggest this wouldn’t be right for anyone over 35. Pretty young crowd all over the place which comes with the usual immaturity at times.||||Anyway, great stay, would happily recommend. ||

This hostel is amazing. The staff are very friendly, always smiling, and very knowledgeable about the city of BA and beyond. The whole place is clean, rooms are decent, bar offers good prices and the food is worth it too. I’ll be coming back here next hear(from Europe), such is the great impression made.
