I was really excited to like this place. Booked a blowout for my birthday, mentioned my hair falls flat and that I would love to find a way to add volume and curl to it, showed a reference photo. The stylist even asked if it was okay to use an iron, I said yes please anything that would help hold a curl. I was there for 30 mins exactly, when the stylist asked me if I liked it I didn’t even realize it was the end of the service, because no heating tools or styling had happened. It felt so uncomfortable to mention it, since my smock had already been taken off. I walked out. By the time I got home my hair was close to flat, for 100$ this felt really rushed even though I was the only customer there.

I had the absolute BEST massage with Sophie tonight. I immediately felt super comfortable with her. She was warm and giggly and asked great questions. Not only was her personality inviting, her massage technique was amazing!! Literally one of the best massages I’ve ever received. I booked a 75 minute deep tissue massage. Her communication was perfect. Pressure was perfect. She walked me through every step and made sure I was comfortable. It was such an incredible experience that I booked my next one before I left! Can’t wait to see her again in a month! ❤️❤️

I’m more than disappointed with the service I received. I came for a lash lift and tint, but the results were barely noticeable. Definitely not what I expected. For comparison, I’ve included a photo of a lash lift I had done at another salon versus what I received here. While the staff was friendly, I ultimately came for a quality service and unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver.

Booked for a bachelorette trip and loved our experience. The atmosphere of the spa is calming and welcoming from the start. We were taken on a tour of the locker room and given clear and easy instructions. The locker room also has two single steam showers—which I highly recommend trying after your massage! My massage was wonderful, and she took extra care with areas that needed it. We also enjoyed the waiting room afterwards. The locker room is also stocked with deodorant, combs, and other necessities you might need or want prior to leaving. Would definitely book again.

Absolutely loved my experience with Amaya! She gave me the most perfect bangs — they frame my face beautifully and completely transformed my look. I feel like such a beauty now! She’s truly a hair magician. From now on, I’m getting my bangs cut only by her. Highly recommend! 💇‍♀️✨

I’ve been a loyal client for 2.5 years and here’s why: Front desk is very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Membership has a ton of perks. Huma’s facials are life-changing! Belinda is great at nail magic. Rees and Joseph give the best massages that are therapeutic and spa-like relaxing. I’m sticking around for all these reasons but I do believe the place could use an aesthetic uplift.

I’ve been going to see Valeria at this Milk and Honey location for almost a year and I have returned ever since. I never had a go-to hairdresser, but each time I go for my services I remember why I keep coming back. I never have left disappointed. Valeria really listens to you, but also provides helpful suggestions on how to keep your hair healthy and manageable. She has colored, cut, and styled my hair. She really knocked it out of the park with my hair color and tone. Highly recommend!!

JC gave a phenomenal prenatal massage ! She managed to hit all my target issues while simultaneously making me and the baby feel safe and secure. The treatment was vigorous and refreshing and the salon space is lovely, clean and calming. At her recommendation, I cam back a couple weeks later for a “touch up” to address tightness in neck and shoulders caused by breastfeeding. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great prenatal massage, and I will definitely be back!

I came here to treat myself! I got a facial and a massage. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is relaxing inside. The lounge is cozy and dimly lit. It is one of the smaller spas I've been to. There's 2 showers that weren't the most aesthetic. I enjoyed the rain shower and steam shower features though! Only giving 4 stars because I thought it was a bit overpriced for what you get, especially compared to other luxury spas.

I was gifted a gift certificate to milk & honey and was excited to try for my first time! First off, they validate parking in nearby garages, which is much appreciated since parking downtown can be a hassle. I tried two services with my gift card: * Pedicure: I do not recommend getting a pedicure here, it was not worth it. I did a regular pedicure which was $100 of my gift card. It was the most expensive pedicure I've had and I didn't get half of the services you'd expect at a typical salon. No exfoliation of the bottom of my feet, just hid dry areas with slathered on lotion/oil. Also no use of cuticle scissors to trim where it was clearly needed. I asked for cuticle scissors to be used in a particular spot and the technician used a nail file instead... which didn't do anything.. The technician also used a nail buffer directly on my cuticle, which caused a cut, and then I couldn't place my foot in the water for the duration of the service, which was a bummer. The polish job itself was okay, not overly bad, but again just not worth $100. I'm pretty sure the nail color I selected was not used either... the bottle was low on color and the technician left and returned with a color that was similar, but definitely not what I selected. I would have rather been told, I would have selected something else. * Massage: Massages are not usually my thing, but being in my third trimester, weeks away from delivering, I gave a prenatal massage a try. And wow, was it worth it! I should have done two prenatal massages and avoided the pedicure altogether. Everything from arrival to check out was perfect, all of the comfort and self-care I was looking to indulge in. I wish I wouldn't have waited until so late in my third trimester to treat myself to a massage. All in all, an average experience. I would never go back for a pedicure, but for a massage? Maybe.

I received a haircut, keratin treatment, & a k18 mask. My hair dresser Kara was so sweet and listened to my wants more than any hairdresser I have ever visited. I know I have split ends and my hair is not the healthiest but I have been trying to grow out my hair for years and each time I go to a salon they chop it all offf because "it is unhealthy." Kara probably wanted to chop it off but instead she honored my wants and ensured to keep the length while trimming the ends of my hair. I will definitely be going back with her for all my haircuts and I trust her with my hair more than anyone in Austin. Her instagram is @hairkara_ Highly recommend if you've ran into the same issue, she will listen to your wants and move forward the best way you see fit and not in a hair dressers eyes. I was on a business trip and the location of Milk + Honey is only a couple of blocks from the hotel I was staying. They were able to accommodate my schedule on a whim. Amani was my girl!!! She not only gave me an amazing facial but educated me on my skin type and products necessary for it. I also had my first dermaplane and my skin never felt tighter and had a natural glow to it!! Upon checkout, the ladies added to my wonderful experience there by educating me more on their products which was conveniently available for purchase. I highly recommend this charming spa downtown Austin. If I'm ever back in Austin, I will be returning!!

Joseph is an amazing masseuse ! I came in with an awful pain in my shoulder and I left not even noticing it. Great experience and great kinesiology knowledge. Definitely will be back!

Lovely atmosphere and courteous staff. I was visiting Austin for a few days and realized that my nail polish was chipped. Milk + honey was recommended by the hotel. The nail specialist did a great job and overall I was treated well even though I did just a nail polish change. I would come here again if I lived in the area.

I have been to the downtown location many times and met a few great massage therapists there- I wish I was going more often! I enjoy that there are locker rooms & a relaxation space to hang out before your service. In general, the folks that work here are super nice and enjoy what they do and that makes a big difference.

Love the manicurist I had here. Very kind and did a great job! The vibe at this location is my fav.

If you have curly hair, don't get a haircut from this institution. I have been coming here for years and can say that the specialty curl haircuts are not always done by curly hair experts. They are just mostly regular hairstyles that had no additional training outside of getting their cosmology license. Btw, you cannot schedule any other haircut appointments if you have curly hair. You have to schedule the curly haircut and pay an up charge. So, naturally one would think that since you're paying more and having to schedule a curly haircut, you'd be able to get a curly haircut specialist....nope, they up charge for the inconvenience of dealing with your curls and give the stylist more time to cut your hair... not because you are getting a knowledgeable stylist on curls...which is fine but I'm no longer paying $130 on a haircut when my hair is already short and I really only need a trim. Recently, I went and got my haircut and I came out with pretty much all my hair cut off. I just wanted 2 to 1 1/2 inches cut off and shaped...the stylist easily cut off three to four inches and went from hair below my chin to hair above my ears (curl shrinkage is more drastic when I washed and styled it). I wished they had confirmed with me and showed how much they were going to cut off rather than just chop it off. After returning home to see the damage I called customer service and was able to notify them of my frustration of this process and situation...no one from this location followed up with me on this. I am not asking for a full refund but acknowledgment, and change to the scheduling system to accurately match actual curly hair specialist to curly hair customer, rather than just any hairstylist and give them extra time for the service. Additionally, I will not be returning to this service any longer with this institution.

Got my nails done here and thought the service was really good. It's a good vibe and the service is pleasant if you're pretty enough and act nice. I noticed a customer get rude with one of the staff and that was kind of weird. The staff member handled it professionally. I thought my nails looked great though!

Giving 1 star, because I was coming in here with excitement for my birthday celebration couple massage and left leaving without 3 items of sentimental value that my mother gave me. I would recommend leaving anything of value at home when coming in, so you won't have to face the same thing. My boyfriend gifted me a couple massage for my birthday. We arrived at 12/9. My boyfriend's back pain went away which was fantastic! I felt glowing and my senses were open. The areas I request special attention to were not really much better, so I felt a tad disappointed. I left the salon and realized that I left jewelry my mother gave me which holds sentimental value, 2 necklaces and a bracelet. When we called the salon it couldn't be found which means that it is reported "LOST" from 5:30pm to 8:30pm 12/9. I came back today to see if I could find them this morning 12/10 because I knew exactly where I left them, in the locker on the lower left side, but hey were not there. The receptionist said that the lockers are cleared every night and it wasn't found.

The worst. They cancelled on me twice, the second time 15 mins before the appointment. Didn't even try to make a plan to fit me in that day. So disappointed never going back

Allie gave me the best facial! I felt super relaxed and clean. From entry to exit, the experience is well thought out, very clean and comfortable. The service did not last a full hour but otherwise was a great experience.

unfortunately, after years of service here I cannot recommend anymore. not only is their customer service horrible, they do not seem to care about client relationships. I came in and submitted an unused giftcard - I handed it to them A PHYSICAL copy, for them to not only tell me another person used it, but then charged me the full service and didn't offer any accommodation for their incompetence! It clearly states my account the services on my account with dates and shows a gift card to MY name that I never redeemed and they let someone else on an entirely different account use it. I've emailed them and no reply, I've called them and they did not follow through on any verbal resolution. it's apparent they only care about making money and not keeping returning and loyal customers happy.

Used to be good. They have postponed or cancelled my last two reservations. I've been a loyal 6 year customer and they offered me a $20 credit! Sorry but no thanks.

Found such a lovely spot for a facial and a massage in Austin, TX. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The decor was all whites and beiges...soothing to the soul. There were lots of complimentary snacks and beverages. It was a blistering 105 degree day, but I came out of this spa salon feeling rejuvenated and refreshed!

My first time at this spa and in TX for that matter. Also, got my first facial ever. Overall, the experience was relaxing and pleasant. Staff was easy going and professional. I would go back, preferably to try a massage.

When I want to treat myself, where do I go? Milk & Honey Spa, that's where. Over time, I've frequented enough to get $40 off in services with my accumulated points. This point system is probably a dangerous motivator to get me to spend more money here. But hey, all the facials, massages, hair services have all been worth it. You know what else is worth it? The dressing and waiting rooms. The robes and sandals provided make me feel like I'm in a Jennifer Lopez rom-com and the ambiance of the waiting room is heaven on earth. I love the steam showers most of all. Sometimes I just hope more stress manifests itself so I can make an excuse to come here.

I booked a massage here and took a half day off of work to make it happen. I confirmed via their automatic email the day before. When I arrived, they claimed that they canceled they appointment days before because their staff wasn't available. I pointed out that I had an email confirmation and the receptionist that that email was "automatic" and didn't actually confirm anything. Customer service has significant opportunities for improvement.

Cris is Fantastic! I have very thick curly long hair that is always difficult to manage. I have been trying to find a hairstylist who can work with stubborn curls, and I'm so happy I took a chance to try milk & honey salon today! The whole experience is top-notch! The cleanliness, the ambiance, the employees... it's the whole package! I came in early, was accommodated, and got seen right away. I came in for a haircut/ trim and met Cris! she was able to recommend what could work better to manage my hair and executed a superb job! Cris is personable, kind, very gentle yet fast, and has strong arms to withstand my wild curls. I like the way she took care of my hair, and I definitely will come back! I was supposed to have a hands on muscle massage. Got the mumbo jumbo weird hands in air energy. Never again. Stupid money not worth it.

Beware of lack of pricing transparency and random add on charges. Came in for keratin consult on Tuesday, went over pricing and decided to do a cut and keratin later that week. Returned Thursday for the cut and treatment. All was fine until I went to pay and my bill was 600$ for a keratin and cut. After reviewing my receipt I noticed I was charged 150$ extra to my already 350$ keratin treatment for needing "3 more bowls". I was never informed of those extra charges. Seemed very shady. I'm all for paying hairstylists what they deserve for their work but pricing should be consistent and customers should be informed of nearly 50% markups on a whim to services. Will not be returning. Paying 500$ for a keratin treatment, before tip, is astronomical.

Jennifer at the Arboretum gave me the best facial! She was informative & the service so relaxing! I left feeling bright & like my pores were so clean! Highly recommend!!!

Called ahead to speak to someone about ensuring that I'm matched with someone who has a lot of experience and is a frequent request from other patrons. I was assured that I was in good hands. Unfortunately I was lied to. I got to the spa 10 min before my appointment and checking in was easy. I was told lockers with the arrows pointing up would have robes and flip flops but after checking more than 5 I had to walk to the other side to check those lockers and finally found one that was stocked. I went to wait in the lounge and noticed that there were empty water glasses everywhere. There wasn't even space for me to put down the water glass I got so I held it. I was called in pretty quickly and my girl was nice but it was basically just an oil rub. I asked multiple times for more pressure and nothing. I got the scalp add-on and specifically asked her to apply lots of pressure with her fingertips and nothing. It's just annoying to lay there and feel someone rub their hands over sore areas on your back but not press into get the kinks out. Good masseuses know how to use their elbows. Plus she kept very loudly inhaling and exhaling which was super strange when she knelt down so close to me. These places charge crazy prices ( total cost for a 75 min massage plus scalp add-on with an 18% tip was $236) which is ridiculous for the amateur masseuses they hire. Waste of money. The places that are run and operated by individuals are so much more worth it then these rip-off spas.

I was in town for the day. I woke that morning and thought I could use a polished cut. I used google and yelp and came upon this place. Response rate 100% and w/ in 2 hours according to yelp. Looked a posh place. Thought I'd try it. I went in and saw Julie. The cut was $75. I explained how I needed to cut off all this long heavy hair of mine, roughly 5- 6 inches. And requested a sophisticated style. I explained my friend had a great A line cut, but I could do such a drastic A line due to the wavyness of my hair. I explained I wanted it longer in front. Such as A line. On so, Julie is nice enough; petite lil gal. Seemed sweet enough. But near the end, when she is done, I said Umm,, the right is way longer than the left. She said Hmm I do not see that. She tried to trim alittle from the right side. Then went to left and took a snip. I said nothing needs to be taken from the left. The right is so obviously longer. She ran her fingers thru my hair and said something like "where do you see or feel that it is longer cuz I do not see that" she snipped alil more on my right side. She really would not do anything else. Kinda referencing it is time to go. I said, " Well can I see the back at least " She replied oh yeah and found a mirror and turned me around. I said where is my A line? She said , you did not want an A line. I said yes I wanted shorter in back than the front. But no very steep A line cut. My front is not even longer than back. She was nice young gal, but she just could not grasp what was happening. Not a great cut. Maybe long hair hair is her thing. I posted photos of the hair cut. I thought maybe she is seeing something different than I. Maybe after I get home and work out and shower and style my hair my way, maybe when I wash all the product out, it will be even. No, that did not happen. So 2days later I called the Salon to speak to a floor manager, it was 11:30am. It is now 5pm and no return call.

I can't recommend Kayla enough! She is amazingly helpful and really good at what she does. 10/10 recommend!

Very disappointed with the facility. The women's locker room had very moldy showers and super weak water pressure. The steam shower was really weak and took ten minutes to start working. My husband found the men's locker room totally non-functional. The shower handle was broken, only had cold water and it was a tiny cramped room. Joseph was a breath of fresh air. I had a deep tissue massage with him and he was great. Very skilled and a great listener. I highly recommend him.

10/10 experience. Alisha was wonderful, attentive, and quite frankly healed my inner child. The calming and gentle atmosphere surrounding my massage was everything I didn't know I needed. Soothing my sore muscles was simply a plus to the experience.

Horrible customer services the girl in the front desk very rude he make me leave my dog out for just make an appointment I used to expend a least 400 dollars a week or more always generous them I tried to call the manager and they tried to take me out in the middle the thunderstorm this happened 4/28 probably 6 pm so if you are a pet friendly don't go there I have the worse experience in my life ... is so many places you can go be kinda to your self and go dry bar or other hair salon when people is kinda

I've never actually felt the need to write a review until now. I had an unfortunate experience with Milk and Honey downtown. First I had an appt on Monday to color my hair to go platinum. I asked for "cool tones" hate the brassy look in my hair. I like the soft almost white looking blonde. I also asked for money pieces to stand out and be super bright. She explained that doing that in one sitting may not be possible. She ended up doing highlights throughout my whole head. The whole process took over 3 hours. By the end I was eager to leave, I noticed I wasn't happy, but decided to call back later. They offered a complimentary re do service. I booked it. I called ahead to let them know I might be 10 mins late, they assured me that would be fine and they would let the front desk people know. They never let them know. They also don't have parking and don't validate past 5 pm so I had to park down the street. I was RUNNING to my appointment. I got there at 5:46 one minute after the grace period and they said they can't take me. I felt no sense of empathy. They were unapologetic on their side about the fact that I called and no one said anything about the grace period earlier in the day. I needed them to simply wash and use a different toner on my hair-I know to take less than an hour. Anyway-don't go here if you're looking to be treated well. And if you're going for color, find a salon that's specialists are red ken trained and use Red Ken color.

I spent my 40th birthday here today and it was sensational! The entire staff was extremely professional and welcoming and my facial and massage were absolute perfection. Thanks for helping me celebrate by pampering me like a queen!

Got a facial with Brooke and she was just simply incredible and welcoming! She had such good energy and treated my skin so well. If you are thinking about having a spa day I definitely recommend coming here and seeing Brooke! She located on the 2nd street location! I would book with Brooke again in a heartbeat!

Brooke at the 5th street location is terrific. I've had multiple facials from her, each time is better than the last one. I don't ever feel like I'm being rushed out, I'm fully relaxed, the spa is clean and cozy and I walk out ready to climb into bed. Thanks for always making me feel lovely!!

I got a massage here while I was in town visiting and it was honestly the highlight of my trip! I don't remember the name of the man who gave me the massage but he was so good! I was in complete relaxation from beginning to end. They also have some great store brand products in the changing room, one of which I bought at the end. Highly recommend!

This was my 3rd time there. The first two were exceptional. I would have considered this my favorite spa. So when making plans to come for my birthday I decided on Austin so I could come to this spa. The morning of my birthday I get a phone call that says sorry not sorry our fire alarms are going off "we can't accommodate" your 120 minute massage. An appointment I booked months prior. So I explain that I'm only in town a couple of days hoping they will understand the dilemma I'm facing. They then proceed to tell me they don't really know what to tell me. Seriously? She then tells me I can call the reservation line and they can try to rebook me. That is horrible customer service. You should have been prepared with a back up option when you called to inconvenience me. If this was the other way around and I wasn't going to make my appointment you would have charged me. I had two other appointments scheduled that they did accommodate me for and then I rescheduled my massage for the following day. Very inconvenient but I had a gift card paid for so was forced to do this. I spent over 500 dollars here and I'm appalled. Icing on the cake? The receptionists were talking about spa patrons who had just left and not kindly. Guess they forgot that people waiting for nail appointments sit in the corner and can hear every word they say. Classless spa and I will never return.

I've been going here for years and have had great massages, manicures, pedicures and hair dos. I was sad to hear my stylist had to go on medical leave. I stumbled upon Mercedes today and I have not been happier with my hair since I was in my 20s (I'm in my mid-late 40s now). Please don't steal her from me, but keep her doing hair! She's very talented and she's made for this art!

Kari at the newest m+h Loren location is the most thorough and helps ease your mind if you're new to microneedling. I've had this service done in other med spas and I've never had results as good as what I'm getting now. I wouldn't go anywhere else again. I'll be back and I can't wait to see how much smoother my acne scars will resurface over time.

The clocks in the spa are off so when I went to the waiting room for my service I learned that I was 7 minutes late. They assured me it was no problem and I'd have time for the full hour session. However when we wrapped up I checked my phone and it was 10:25. I felt really rushed in an experience I hoped to be rejuvenating after a really difficult week prior. I asked about it and the staff updated my price to reflect the express facial price but I'm still disappointed that the aesthetician didn't do any extractions for me and that I was hurried along for something I had booked and paid for. Won't be going back.

I was treated to a spa day as a Valentine's Day gift. Each employee I interacted with was wonderful. The facial was amazing (I had Jamaica). I would 100% request her again, so sweet, so kind, explained everything she was doing - loved it! She also gave me some recommendations based on my skin afterwards. I also had a head, hands and feet massage (never done this before and I loved) by JC) she also did a great job. Overall I loved it. I was only a little confused when I arrived of where I should wait but that was probably a me problem. Would recommend!

Don't book here. I (tried) to book a couples massage for my boyfriend's birthday - they have it listed as a product on their website but seemed bewildered that we'd want to do them at the same time, as advertised. They kept trying to schedule us two separate ones, hours apart. Finally got one on the books only for them to cancel two weeks out, saying the massage therapist would be "out."

I've been going to Milk and Honey the past 1.5 years, ever since I moved here. I just went a couple of weeks ago and didn't get my usual stylist (limited staff were available due to Covid). I saw David instead. David did a terrible job cutting my hair. Which was surprising, since he made sure to mention that he had extensive experience doing hair in Beverly Hills. The front of my hair was a completely different length than the back, there were no layers, and he did not blend my side bangs into my hair at all. I didn't get the chance to see what it looked like since they didn't blow dry it or style it, until I got home. I called to complain, and they rescheduled me with a different stylist for the following week. They then called and cancelled the appointment because the stylist chose not to return to the salon, so I rescheduled again. That appointment was also cancelled. So I got another phone call to reschedule, and I asked for a refund instead. They denied me a refund, and said that my only option was to reschedule a third time. I ended up having to file a credit card dispute with my bank to get the refund. Overall, I am super disappointed with the level of service I received with Milk and Honey- with both the stylist and the customer service. I will unfortunately not be returning to this salon. If you value consistently good service, I would not recommend Milk and Honey.

I came into Milk & Honey for a last-minute appointment after a botched box dye attempt. Lauren was extremely kind and understanding, while also reasonable about how we could save my hair. She made me feel comfortable in what was a very stressful time for me and did a fantastic job on my hair. She gave me recommendations for the next steps going forward and made me feel much better about my situation. My experience at Milk and Honey was very relaxing and Lauren made it all the better!

I was not even the customer - I was there with my wife and I will tell you what: I have not seen such horrific customer service in a long time. The wait took forever (even if they promised that it would only be 5 minutes) and then somebody by the name of Micah started harassing me - first, he told me the restroom was for customers only, then he told me to lower the volume at which I was speaking on my phone, as I was waiting (I use below-average volume when I speak), then one of the people working there told me I could wait at the other waiting area and Micah walked there and told me to leave that area and then he started staring at me in an intimidating manner. I was shocked the whole time and there is zero chance I would ever go there. I have warned my Austin friends about this experience. What a disaster!
