Milk Handmade is such a lovely spot—beautifully curated with pieces from independent designers and a clear focus on quality and sustainability. Even just browsing is a treat. The staff is welcoming and the vibe is relaxed and friendly. It’s the kind of shop that makes you want to come back when you’re looking for something special. So glad to have this kind of boutique in the neighborhood!

If I could give milk handmade six stars here, I would do it without hesitation! I ordered a large box of candles and other delicious smelling goodies from milk handmade for my holiday gifts this year. I ordered early because I knew the pressure to deliver on time this year would be huge because everyone was warning about it! Hard to ignore all the warnings!! My order came promptly with a handwritten note from Hallie, the fantastic owner. This shop is true salt of the earth, with people who truly care. Shopping is still fun because of shops like Milk Handmade. Do yourself a favor and order the Olive Branch candle and get the big one.

This shop has some truly amazing apparel! It places an emphasis on items that are made or designed in Chicago and are of a high quality. They appear to have clothing that is suitable for the workplace, as well as cute and fancy parties, as well as other types of occasional dress. In addition to that, they have a large selection of candles, jewelry, accessories, bags, and other items. After hearing about it from a good friend, it quickly rose to the top of my list of preferred shopping destinations in Chicago. I really like how well they curated the items, and I really like their clothing line as well. During my most recent visit to this shop, I purchased some fragrant candles because I knew that my husband would be looking for them in our home. And he absolutely fell in love for the scent of it. If you are someone who enjoys shopping at boutiques or if you have a present to buy, you should absolutely go there!

She has such impeccable taste and also the best candles on Earth. I buy at least 7 per season. Pine Forest forever. Highly recommend visiting the store or shopping online.

I've been a Milk shopper since it opened (and I lived down the street). The pieces I've bought from Milk, whether clothing or jewelry or accessories, are that right mix of trend and timeless style. I feel like I'll feel cool in them for years to come, and that they'll last that long, too. As for the shop itself, it manages to convey all the best elements of Chicago street style: it's elevated without being unattainable; there's always the right balance of bright colors and black, or earthy and shiny; you're surrounded by statements but things still manage to stand out. I love this lil' store! Anytime I need a present for a friend I just raid the wonderful selection at Milk. They always have something new and fun ... and the candles they have are aaaamazing. Plus Heather that works on Fridays and Saturdays is the best person ever and can help you pick out something adorable for yourself. Yay for a great local business!!

I started shopping at Milk Handmade in 2016 when I was living in Uptown and was so thrilled to have stumbled upon this gem of a store. Hallie, the store owner, carefully curates a beautiful selection of merchandise from different diverse vendors across Chicago (though some are from other states as well) as well as some of their own private label Milk Handmade items. Some of my favorite goodies are: Milk Handmade candles (Horchata), Soap Distillery soaps and candles (Beer and Cigarettes), Neva Opet leather goods (phenomenal quality leather backpacks and purses), and Sunday Standard facial products (the day and night oils are life changing).

Great selection of handmade and thoughtful products. A true niche store and an amazing way to shop small. The service is always impeccable and although I don't always purchase, I am always greeted with kindness. Also, businesses cannot remove reviews just because they don't like them, that'd be a bit too easy ;)

Amazing clothes. Cool owner. I loved this store so much. Don't be deterred by prices online. They have sales!

Anytime I'm in Andersonville I always make sure to stop in! A gorgeous selection of products to buy for yourself and others.

I loved this shop! It had all sorts of cool jewelry, accessories and clothing. My husband and I were exploring Andersonville and made sure to check this store out because of all the great Yelp reviews. I'm so glad I did. My husband bought me the coolest leather cuff for my birthday here. I absolutely love it. I loved the fragrant candles, the unique t-shirts and scarves, the cool clutches and pouches, and the one-of-a-kind jewelry. There's something for everyone here. I think this is one of the best shops in Andersonville. I'll definitely stop in again the next time I'm back in town.

This place is cute. I've been in a few times to just browse around. Personally for me the price point is a little high but I think for the quality of the clothing if you can afford it it's a great place to stop in. Usually there's only one employee working and not a ton of customers so you can usually get full attention when trying to find what you are looking for. Each time the employee has been very helpful!

This is one of my favorite gems in Andersonville. You can tell that every item in the store has been thoughtfully selected - everything is high quality and focuses on local designers/creators, which is always nice to support. The owner and her adorable dog/shop assistant are super friendly and I always find amazing things to buy here. If you believe in shopping local (or buying amazing things and looking good), definitely recommend a visit here!

When Shelly next door at Urban Mischief gave me a heads up on an amazing new clothing store opening next door, my ears perked up. Everything handmade, cute, yet affordable? Could it be true? Umm, yes! I loved how there was a wide range of comfy tees - all adorable (think big heart with Midwest is Best on it), dressier business clothes, and adorable night out dresses. Everything, and I mean everything, was so soft. At one point I worried that I would be kicked out and forever known as The Toucher (I was gonna say rubber, but didn't want to dig myself that hole). They also had an amazing collection of clutches, and the only reason I mention that is because I am so not a clutch person, but right now I'm plotting my next visit so I can pick one up. They also had a selection of yummy whipped body creams from Bunny Butt. Get one for the cute name, but keep it because really, who doesn't want to smell like birthday cake. Finally, as cool as the offerings are, Hallie, the owner, made this place stand out. She answered all my questions, had no problem with me trying the same things on a million times as I decided between sizes, and gift boxed my purchases for me. Milk, welcome to the neighborhood.

Small business Saturday rocks! Even though I was out shopping just last weekend in the Lincoln Square 'hood, I stopped in at Milk after having a drink at Hopleaf. I purchased a t-shirt with a big, red heart on it stating "Midwest is Best." Although Macklemore would not approve of my overpriced ($30) t-shirt, it is super soft and I love it! The girl working here was genuinely friendly and super helpful. The t-shirt came in two styles. In the first style, the XL wouldn't have fit me at all. In the second style, much more loose-fitting and longer, I was SHOCKED when the girl offered the Medium to me to try on. And it fit! I also tried on a cardigan, but at $128, I couldn't see myself wearing it frequently enough to justify the price tag. However, it was a really well made item, so I still think the stuff is fairly priced. Milk Handmade is a small shop, so while it isn't a destination, it's definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

Um, hello, new obsession. Nice to meet you! I'm beyond excited about Milk opening up across the street from my building. It's stocked with beautiful, handmade clothing (including from the etsysphere hit lamixx) and accessories that include fun jewelry and gorgeous clutches. I didn't happen to find anything today that was in my budget, but that's no surprise because it's the end of the month *and* I'm a student. In fact, this store does have a very affordable price point and my suspicion is that the inventory will rotate quickly. Major bonus: the owner's business partner, a very big, very sweet greyhound who was snoozing on a big pillow beside her. Love.

This place has wonderful clothes! It focuses on high-quality pieces that are made or designed in Chicago. Many of fibers used are environmentally friendly, too! They seem to have clothes that are appropriate for all occasions - office, fancy parties, relaxing with friends... they also have lots of candles, earrings, bags, etc. The owner and everyone I've met running the shop are really sweet. I love this new store in Andersonville. There are so many unique items and the owner is really knowledgeable about every piece. I like that everything is hand made and not the same old stuff you'll see everywhere else. It's pretty expensive, but if you found a really unique piece you loved it's worth it. I normally wouldn't spend almost $50 on a t-shirt... There aren't a ton of sizes of each item since it's a boutique, but the owner tries to be as accommodating as possible. I'll definitely be back to check out the jewelery and fall clothes!

We came here randomly after our crazy experience in Wooly Mammoth - This was so much better for me. This store is great. It's a cute boutique, less than a year old, with a very sweet owner. Most of the pieces are local-made which is great to see the support for local artists. I bought a shirt that had a cool design on it that was local made and I was pretty glad I picked it up since I love to show my IL pride. I'd happily come back frequently if I lived in town!

I heard they are in the final 5 for a contest that would give them a storefront downtown for the holiday season. If they're good enough for downtown, they're good enough for me! I decided to check them out and am glad I did! It's a cute shop with a range of items from soaps to dresses with make-up bags in the middle. I picked up an infinity scarf and felt pretty good about shopping local. It's the kind of store that is for splurge purchases (for me), but I'll definitely stop by again. Also, they have a wonderful pooch in there!

Great place to drop a pretty penny! The customer service was outstanding-- the store clerk helped me put some stellar outfits together; very patient and honest about what looked good and what didn't. I appreciate that they feature local designers, and the unique vibe ensures that I don't have that major-chain-store look. The items aren't cheap, but not outrageous either. And the clothes are all high quality. Treat yourself!

I was recommended to shop at the store when in Chicago. I brought my wife along on this end-of-the-week business trip so she could visit the store. We were very impressed with everything about the store. Very personalized with quality merchandise at a fair price.

I went there during my lunch break and found the most beautiful scarf and a great wine bottle gift bag. Then I decided to go back after work with a couple of friends to pick out a fantastic dress but I plan on wearing to a bachlorette party.The person working was a great and kind woman who was very knowledgeable about the area and was excited to give me the best service I've probably ever had in a boutique. Thank you for only having amazing clothes. Can't wait to go back seriously, thank you!!!

This shop is wonderful. Ever since I moved here from Brooklyn I've struggled to find anything in the Chicago boutique shopping scene that works for me (sorry, don't hate) in terms of catering to my (admittedly) predictable indie-retro-feminine-ecclectic-whatever tendencies and being at a reasonable price point. So mostly I just end up at anthropologie, where I am half disgusted with myself every time I buy a dress, half the cost of which is probably going to support pricey retail rents in upscale suburban shopping malls and/or some over-the-top store design initiative involving salvaged china and yarn sculpture. But at Milk Handmade, there was beautiful dress after beautiful dress and everything was unique, carefully constructed, and refreshingly affordable. Plus, supporting independent and up-and-coming designers as well as a local Andersonville shop makes one feel a little bit a part of something that's great and maybe even a little less guilty about purchasing a lovely dress (or two) that possibly one didn't entirely need...

Such a wonderful shop! Hallie's got the eye; wide range of clothes and accessories, fresh new designs, and a great place to find that special something to spice up your wardrobe. She's got everything from structured, modern dresses to t-shirts that feel 'oh so right,' and at great prices! Hallie is usually sporting some of the digs which is nice to see bc she's got great style, and she's super helpful and sweet. The store setup is comfortable and spacious, I had a very relaxing time shopping there. Definitely worth the trip to Andersonville if you're not already up that way!

WOW! This shop is filled with beautiful, unique clothes and accessories! The hand-craftsmanship is apparent in how the clothes fit with many items looking great on everyone. The owner is very friendly and her customer service is superb. She knows her vendors well and she'll order things for you, even custom! Fabulous! I was visiting from another state for Memorial weekend and I wish we had a Milk Handmade!

My wife comes in here often to shop for cute items and accessories. It's really amazing in that you can find clothing unlike anything in the higher end boutiques or stores. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The only downside is that there's limited inventory, making it sometimes difficult to find clothing in the right size. That being said, the upside of buying local, handmade clothing makes it well worth it.

FINALLY!!! A women's boutique in Andersonville that is for ladies under 90 (sorry Turley Road). I love the vibe, the funky and unique clothes, the very cool owner and the affordable-for-a-boutique prices. This is a very much needed and excellent addition to the neighborhood. Now we just need one more shoe store and I will officially never need to leave Andersonville.

Great local store with a good clothing selection. Bought a skirt there and wore it on a work trip and received many compliments. Looking forward to going back soon! I love shopping and when I can support a small business owner and buy something I won't see everyone else wearing that is a great combination.

I stumbled in here only to get away from the cold and then spent a week's salary. The clothing is original, well made and well priced! It doesn't hurt that the owner is super nice and patient. I will be back as soon as I am back in town!

One of my favorite places to shop in Chicago. Always find something new and unique here and the owner is very personable and makes me feel comfortable coming in to enjoy a good peruse even when it doesn't lead to a sale. She's friendly and prompt with her interactions on social media and the shops' presence on there gets me to stop in more than I probably should. Milk provides a shopping experience that is reason enough to not just do all my shopping online and I recommend it any chance I get.

I almost do not want to post, because I don't want to share this treasured new boutique. But, I also want this boutique to succeed tremendously! It's been open just a week. Hallie, the owner, is both adorable and entirely smart with her selections. Everything here is handmade, and, chic. Wonderful, well-made, fashionable items, and to-die for clutches, at affordable prices. Forget Wicker Park, there is now clothing for women in this part of town, that is not cheap in look. I really love this store. I have been in 4 times in the last year and I have purchased something each and every time I have visited. Today I bought easy to wear hemp pants for vacation and spring weather. Their merchandise is unique, appropriately priced, and I find the sales people really helpful, attentive, and knowledgable without being pushy. All ladies should shop here!

This is the store you've always wished existed and now it does. I came shopping here with my mom and we both walked away with several bags of unbelievable clothes and accessories. Milk had clothes that were beautiful, unique, well-made and age appropriate for both of us who have very different styles. There is a wide range of prices depending on what you're looking for, but I felt like I was having reverse sticker shock considering how reasonable the prices are for these beautifully crafted handmade clothes. These are the kinds of clothes that you can't wait to get out of bed in the morning to put on. Hallie, the owner, is very sweet and has such a good eye for fashion. She's also honest so you feel like you're shopping with your best friend who won't let you spend money on something that isn't perfect for you, and will lend a hand zipping you up. We also picked up several gifts for people here because they have amazing, reasonably priced accessories that look way more expensive than they are. The only thing that makes me unhappy is that I can't wear everything I got at once. I don't know how to choose.
