Milkweed Oat Milk Gelato

My son and I went there yesterday. He got the s'mores one (pictured) he kept raving about it, even after he consumed it. I got the vanilla with dark chocolate swirl. It was so delicious!! I liked it better than regular soft serve ice cream. I can't believe it's vegan!! And gluten free. This is my new guilty pleasure. The staff was super helpful and patient. Will definitely be back.

My wife and stopped in a week ago and each got a gelato. I had the strawberry shortcake and she had the s’mores. Both were phenomenal. They are a bit pricey for the size but the flavor is definitely on point.

Fantastic oat milk gelato / soft serve... Yep it's vegan and extremely delicious. Really interesting flavors to top the oat milk gelato. Highly recommend; my wife went back for a second one she loved it so much.

Super cute little camper gelato stand! They are made with oat milk and almost all flavors are vegan. I was there with a group and was able to try almost all the flavors since we all got something different - my absolute favorite was the sunflower & honey, but I also enjoyed the peppermint & cacao. The blueberry & lavender and wild rose & cardamom were objectively nice, but if you don't like floral flavors (which I don't) those may not be the flavors for you. The beet & carrot was good as well, but definitely a more savory flavor. They also have good old vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I definitely recommend stopping by! It's located in a very walkable area with lots of cute shops to check out before or after getting gelato :)

My group of 5 and I arrived on a Saturday evening around 5:30PM, and the restaurant was already fully booked, so we ended up waiting another 45 minutes to be seated. Since it was cold out, the outdoor space wasn't in use, but I could imagine during the summer, it'd be a great spot! The pizza smelled great so our appetites were definitely ramping up! We ordered some drinks, the arugula salad, the Manor, the Wild One, and one more I don't remember the name of. We were expecting to have some leftovers, but we ended up finishing all 3 pies. They're fairly small, so if you're hungry, I'd order some more! The pizzas overall weren't bad, but the prosciutto was cooked with the pizza. I was imagining it would be charcuterie style but that's just personal preference. The meats were super salty, and the pepperoni was a bit tough. Service was lovely! If I'm back in the area, I wouldn't be opposed to trying out different pizzas.

Nice interior and staff. We had a big group and were seated promptly at our reservation time. It's a big restaurant with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The pizza is really good here! We enjoyed The Manor and The Buffalo chicken one a lot. The margherita and pepperoni pizzas were OK. The kale caesar salad was different and very much not a caesar salad, but was still yummy (it had a curried chickpea flavor). The soup was steep at $10 for a small portion and was quite bland. Overall the meal was solid and definitely the best we had while visiting the Catskills! They had delicious cocktails as well.

We tried to order for takeout - not answer. Since their reputation was so good, we drove there to order the pizza. We're told the wait is 30-40 minutes so we decided to just wait and sit near the fireplace. I must admit the fireplace was nice, the glass fo red wine for $14 a glass quite overpriced, but... I need to add that, after waiting like 25 min for the wine, we inquired and finally got it. Now after like 30/35 min I decided to check about the pizza - had to find out they the two pizzas I had seen under the heat lamp since 10+ minutes were ours. So the lady said she'd just have to do the salad (glad that at least the salad didn't get cold ) When asking/complsining I was told that it's not cold... great that they took my concern serious Anyhow, besides that fact that the pizza was then really less than lukewarm, also it was not great. The "Hawaiian" style had uncooked (do REALLY spicy jalapenos on it, the "Greek" style was totally salty. Th salad was quite ok So the place has since outside seating area but I won't go there - such a bad execution and lack of customer service!

Loved everything about this place. Loved the vide, loved the pizza, loved the meatballs. Sat outside and it was such a beautiful setting. The staff was nice and what more can you ask for.

We had tried this place in the past and loved the pizza. This time we stopped by for takeout on a Friday night. I understand a place being busy on a Friday night. After no one picked up the calls a few times, we drove there to order. While the Carry out staff was friendly, not much went great after. After being told we had to wait 35 minutes we ordered a drink while we waited. After 15 minutes I reminded the staff and finally got our drinks. After 35 minutes we went to check on our pizzas and turns out they were already sitting in the warmer for a while. The food was cold and the pizza was not nearly as good as we remembered - lots of dough, not much flavor. The salad was good but also small. For about $25 a pizza I would expect much higher quality. The space is really nice.

The pizza wasn't really all that great. The meatballs were okay. The apple salad was probably one of the best things. Now, the vibe was nice inside but what really made this place great were the people. In an area that doesn't have THAT many restaurants, this is probably a must go in the area.

The reviews were so good that we thought we needed to stop here during our Catskills weekend. It was fine but not necessarily the best place or pizza in this area. The dough was chewy, sauce was flavorless and overall felt like something you could get at a school cafeteria. It did have a 4.7 rating on google... must've been the old folks rating ... but we were hungry so it did the trick and the decor was beautiful inside and outside. Servers were basically all young - must be high school summer jobs - they were kind but did seem to make lots of mistakes. I saw they charged two tables next to us for the wrong tab and had to correct it and then they ended up doing the same to us. They corrected it so no huge issue at all, but we did end up being there for longer than we wanted on our way to the Catskills.

There is a bar upstairs, beautiful dining area inside but this review is for their patio dining setting. Beautiful dining setting. The patio lights added to a calm ambiance. There is this family vibes that you could felt. Great pizza variety on the menu. Plenty of drinks choices, either tap, bottle or cocktails. Friendly staff. Fair prices. Service style: Order your food from the register, get an order number, look for a table, food will be delivered. The place is in the middle of the town. Easy to find a parking stop despite being in the Main Street. Loved this place.

My wife and I have been visiting Livingston Manor from NYC for 10 years, and eating at The Kaatskeller has always been hit or miss. Unfortunately, this time was such a miss that I feel compelled to write a review. I called ahead to order a simple NY-style cheese pizza and was told it would be ready in 40 minutes. I arrived on time, only to be told I'd have to wait another 20 minutes. When I finally got home and opened the box, the pizza was badly burned. I regret not checking it before leaving the restaurant. I tried calling back to request a new one, but after several attempts, no one answered.

The Kaatskeller is one of the most pleasant places to eat in Livingston Manor, if not the surrounding towns. Dining is mostly outside in their garden, although they have a few small tables inside. Their outdoor seating is gorgeous. It's outfitted with dozens of picnic tables, nicely landscaped with strong lights, and a fire pit with chairs. It's very cute and dog friendly. Definitely recommended when the weather is nice! The service here was wonderful. Everyone was so accommodating of our dog, Jeffrey. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the spicy honey pizza, arugula salad, and a cider + beer. My cider was delicious, tart and not too sweet. We enjoyed the arugula salad which tasted fresh. The pizza was just ok. Maybe their oven was a bit too hot, because our crust was very burned while the cheese didn't seem to be fully melted. A super cute spot we'll be sure to visit next time we're in LM.

Fantastic food and drinks. I've only had the opportunity to eat outside the few times I've been there. The eating areas are appropriate. Great place to chill and relax. Staff have always been friendly. Give this place a try.

Date of Visit: June 11, 2023 We decided to stop in Livingston Manor on drive from NYC to upstate NY. The town is super cute and worth the stop. As for the Kaatskeller, I would probably give them another try, despite some other short comings of our experience. Vibe: What's not to love about eating outdoors on a beautiful day! The outdoor space is super cool and has a great vibe. If I lived there, I would probably be hanging out there alot. Service: Hard to really judge service as you order and pay inside and then everything is brought to you. The staff was nice, but young and showed in their inexperience. Food: The food was the most disappointing part of the experience. We ordered two pizzas: Margherita / The High Life - local mozzarella, authentic DOP San Marzano tomato, Agrarian Feast micro basil, and EVOO and then Marinara Pizza / Customizer - DOP San Marzano tomatoes, oregano, garlic, EVOO and added mushrooms. Overall they use high quality ingredients and the pizzas had good flavors. The big issue, was the execution - the oven was too hot, causing the exterior of the pizza to be burnt and the interior of the pie to be raw. I also felt that the Margherita pizza was a little light on the micro basil. I think The Kaatskeller has alot of potential and maybe we just hit it on a bad day. I would definitely try again despite some of the short comings.

This place is about the beer garden. Nice place to relax at a picnic table with a good draft. Kids and dogs welcome. Food nothing special. Pizza ok but overpriced. Calzone superior to the pie.

This is my second visit. I love their pizzas, their arugula apple salad is delicious. They have the friendliest servers, come for their food and enjoy their outdoor garden. They have a fire pit too! You can keep warm while having a cocktail and pizza!

We came in without a reservation and opted to sit inside as it was pretty busy outside at the picnic tables. The inside was quite dark and we used flashlights to clearly see the menus as the candles weren't sufficient. The server brought water and took our order. My husband and son ordered the bread and butter which came out quickly along with other drinks. I ordered the Caesar salad with duck-bacon meatballs. That salad came out rather quickly too - and was quite tasty -- though the portion was a tad small. Luckily, my husband ordered the gluten free Italian pizza. My son ordered a Margherita pizza. Then, we waited. And waited. There was some issue in the kitchen and we later heard a medical emergency. About 40 minutes later, the pizzas came. Tastewise, they were very good -- though the experience took 2 hours. If we had opted to sit outside, it likely would have been much easier and more fun -- alas!

This place is incredible! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! Absolutely loved it! We will definitely come back again!

Great little place to enjoy a drink and some good food. We had the Caesar salad with grilled kale and loved it, we also got the new haven style clam pizza--very cheesy and tasty thin crust pizza. The cocktails were amazing, we had the hemlock negroni and a pistachio Cocktail and loved them both. Only thing that wasn't great was the trout, which we thought would be cooked directly on coals , but it was steamed in tin foil and not very flavorful. We would definitely come back again though, very cute dog friendly patio with a bocce court.

Great space, pizza and ambience! Always look forward to eating here when we visit in June!

This was really excellent. We got the meatballs, the Wild One pizza, the flatbread with butter, and the trout with ramp pesto. It was all great, but the meatballs were a particular standout -- they shocked us with how great they were. The bread and butter and pizza would definitely be re-orders as well (although maybe I could be convinced to try a different pie if another one looked really good), and while the fish was excellent, I'd probably want to try something different next time. Definitely would want to come back here on another visit to this area.

Great vibe, great food, good service. Nice, chill music. Cozy and homey. They only thing that was odd is that the website says seating is "open and unreserved" but we walked in as 2 for dinner and were only able to sit at the bar despite tables being open at the time. So maybe call ahead.

Everything was great! A must if you are in the area , wish we had more time ! you will love it ! Pizza was amazing and fresh and don't get me started on the apple pie ! And ofc the beer was soooo good ! Service was super nice and fast and the location is in the perfect spot ! Super worthy of its on your way!

What started as a stressful night was quickly improved by Scott and his fabulous team. Our car broke down just outside of town on a holiday weekend so we arrived (at the recommendation of a local couple) with many bags in hand. With the car figured out and our ride on the way, we were ready to eat and drink! We enjoyed two pizzas, an egg pesto and a spicy pepperoni. They came quickly and we loved every bite. My partner really liked his pistachio-bourbon cocktail and I sipped a great local cider. The restaurant itself is an adorable cabin - timeless and cozy. As candles were flickering around us and 70's music playing in the background, we felt pretty lucky that things worked out the way they did. After dinner, Scott took his hospitality even further - going out of his way to provide us warmth and good spirits. He personally drove us down the road to a spot that was open later (our ride was arriving well past the Kaatskeller's close). Overall, though our circumstances to explore Livingston Manor were not ideal, we will absolutely be coming back and the Kaatskeller will be the highlight when we do.

This place was great! I was in town and looking for dinner in the area. I found this place! It looked quaint and the food looked delicious. I'm so glad I stopped by! I had the meatballs, wings and Italian Pizza. I'm so glad that I tried each of these. All of the food I had was amazingly fresh and flavorful. I would definitely come back and order each of these again. There was a nice outdoor space, as well. However I stopped here in the middle of winter during an ice storm. It would be a great place to sit outside during the warmer months. My server was friendly and attentive as well. I was here on a Saturday evening for dinner (6:15 PM) and even though the restaurant was crowded, I made a reservation and all of my food came out very quickly. I'd definitely come back here again!

A tasty and quick pizza & a salad to go! We had a long drive in from MASS and we're hungry. Staying close by and the dining room was full so took it to go. Friendly staff.

Great addition to the Manor! My family and I sat outside (end of September) and shared a bunch of dishes. I also had the gardener's gimlet cocktail, which was great. As for the food, I tried: + Wild One pizza + Skillet meatballs + Wild apple arugula salad + Waterfowl folly pizza + Summer white special clam pizza + Wood fired cinnamon crumb apple pie Everything was very tasty. The pie was my favorite!!

We love this place. Not a huge menu, but everything we had was delicious. The outdoor seating is beautiful, and the service was fine.

Enjoy your delicious pizza outdoors on picnic tables in a festive, friendly environment! I started with their chilled cucumber soup; it was exceptional! The apple, walnut salad was also super tasty. We ordered the spicy pepperoni with honey pizza also known as "The Wild One" to share and devoured it.

Food is very good and the setting is perfect. I love eating here with my family when we are in the area. Brick oven Pizza and craft beer in the heart of the Catskills, really enjoyable. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor eating area. Food is ordered and beverages are picked up at the airstream camper in front. The wait staff delivers food to your table.

Tried the Kaatskeller for the first time this afternoon. We sat outside, which was really delightful on a beautiful fall day. We ordered the wild apples and arugula salad, the trout rillettes, the Wild One pizza and the Saltwater pizza. We also ordered some cocktails. The food was absolutely amazing and while we initially didn't receive our drinks due to a mixup with the bar printer, the staff was super apologetic and went above and beyond to make it right. Cannot wait to come back the next time I'm in the area.

came here for dinner after doing an alpaca tour. there is indoor & outdoor seating but since it snowed the day before, we sat inside. super cozy. we sat upstairs near the bar. we were a group of 6. the drinks were pretty good - the server definitely is knowledgeable & helpful. the pizzas were SUPER good. my friends like the new yorker but i liked the one with the bacon fig jam on it hehe. overall, great vibes, good food, amazing service. definitely recommend!

We used to love this place and frequent it lots during the summer. But I am tired of restaurants milking Covid policies in a post-Covid era. Before the pandemic, it was a normal restaurant - you sat down and were greeted by a server, given menus, orders were taken & food brought to you. During the pandemic, you had to place an order online, show up at a certain time to be seated and then receive to-go boxes of food. And now - post-Covid, you get up, walk inside to order and pay, and then wait at your table. What is the purpose of this? Let's not use Covid as an excuse in mid-2023, please? Provide less, get the same - if not more (increasing menu prices everywhere). Seems to be a recurring theme in this industry.

Yes it's Memorial Day weekend, but you're a running business. During the winter months, we support your business because we enjoy your food, but you don't treat people this way. The "new way" they do things... is to order at the counter and wait at the table for your food. So, after sitting down , get ready to wait on a 20 minute line. if you need another drink, guess what? you're back on line. After 1 hour I went to the counter to check on our food, only to be told "it's a minimum of another 20-30 mins, nothing I can do about it". The waiter with the beard turned to the crowd to tell them " 1 hour minimum, if you dont like it go eat somewhere else". Once again... you don't speak to people like this. I am so turned off, and so were the other 20 people who walked out.

This place is super cute. The food was good as well as the service. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? No. But it was a solid dinner. I appreciated all the vegan/ veg options as well. Will definitely be back!

Great little spot on Main Street in Livingston Manor in the Catskills. The service was excellent and the ambiance right out of a 70s bar. Just lovely!!! The meatballs are TO DIE FOR! Would give them a 6 out of 5! The pizzas are very good, as well. Would give them 4 out of 4 for NY. We had the Wild Boar and Ramp n Ranch. The crusts are fantastic. The pizza sauce is a little sweet for my taste. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Trout - with potatoes & broccoli - very very good!! The arugula and apple salad was excellent - and the Hawaii Five- Oh pizza - half went home for the next day - overall a very good evening and the staff were excellent as well!! We had 1 cocktail each, arugula salad, the trout and a pizza - dinner for 2 - right at $100 including tip. Just FYI!

Overall slightly disappointing for its price point. Food was good, not mind blowing. Had some craft beers (canned rather than on tap), the spicy boar pepperoni pizza, and a whole trout. Everything was pleasant but non-revolutionary. The boar pizza juxtaposed with the spicy honey somehow didn't make culinary sense or hang together aesthetically. Also, prices were a little high, justifying the rating. OK.

I arrived at 6:34 pm was greeted warmly and placed my order at 6:45 pm. An hour later my food has not arrived nor has anyone reached us on where our food was. I paid for an item that we drank and left; my party of three was so upset and had every right to be. I just can't understand why they didn't make our food and why when they started to make our food finally an hour later we were told that it was going to be another 45 minutes just to make 5 pizzas and a salad. There aren't a many choices in the small town. Would I eat at this pizza place again? Yes! Even though I didn't even eat there to begin with. They never made my food. I would just order the food for takeout and make sure the food is actually ready and then go to pick it up and eat it at a table if you really want to eat it. Would I go there anytime soon? Absolutely not. This team has completely proven itself to be incompetent. Scott's team failed me. Miserably failed my party of three. Ruined my last night in Livingston Manor. Good going team! It's pizza not rocket science!

Very cool place to hang out and get food or drinks. We just didn't enjoy the pizza at all. We ordered a simple cheese pizza and it wasn't good. Maybe their special pizzas are better.

Update: We're in Livingston Manor this year again and couldn't wait to return here. It was perfect this time so I'm upgrading my review to a 5 star. They open during the day on weekends Now! Woo hoo. Can't wait to go back on Sunday before we leave. The Cedar cooked trout is to die for. Service has improved also. We love it here. Original: The cocktails are amazing, very creative and unusual. The menu isn't huge, especially for vegetarians, but if you do eat meat then there were some good options. The wild one comes with this amazing chili honey. I would give 5 stars but the service isn't great. It's like if they have more than 3 tables at one time they completely lose their minds and can't cope. I also wish they opened during the day on weekends. But otherwise great.

Yum! We ordered takeout when visiting the area and from the salad to pizza to trout dip everything was incredible! Wonderful flavors and quality of ingredients- will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

I've been here a few times and I'll keep it short and simple. Pizza is great, some prices are appropriate, some are overpriced but still filling no matter what you get. Wings are great and so are the meatballs. Cocktails are fun and tasty. The protocols for how they operate are a bit confusing. Since Covid-19, they have requested that you order online before coming in. However since many and most restrictions have been lifted, if you want to sit outside you still have to order online however if you dine inside, you can order like a normal person. I don't know if it's because they may be short staffed or if they don't really cater to the people who choose to sit outside in their beautiful lit up garden with a small fire pit. Outside is cute and less confined than their dining area inside. Unless you're a couple don't bother sitting inside.

Placed order for 6.40 p/u and arrived at 6.30 - was already finished and had been placed in a warming oven, I suspect (from the dryness of the barely warm pizza ) 20m earlier. When I asked when had been made I was told - you "have it now. Enjoy". Found that surly and unnecessarily unfriendly. For a $25 pizza I expect better.

Had a great Hawaiian pizza last week that we're still thinking about. So delicious and beautifully made. Another level of pizza!!

I've been here dozens of times and this is quite possibly my favorite place in Sullivan County. The service, the food, the drinks, THE DRINKS and the ambiance are the best in the area. It's relaxed, it's fun, it's inviting. Rafa, the pizza man is my most favorite staff member. Always says hi by name and has a joke. John, the owner is as equally engaging and friendly. The pizza is where it's all, so many choices and each one delectable it their own way. The stand out for me here is the drinks. Always keeping the cocktail menu fresh and changing is my favorite. Grabbing a few drinks and sitting around the fire in July is always a must do here.

Where do I begin? Especially because as I type, my passion for food and dining takes over and my reviews get lengthy. Add strangers and libations, the stories become memories and exaggerated fragments of our beings. Here we go... Let's start right up front with the negatives, the basis for 4 stars as opposed to a perfect 5. Most of this will be due to COVID, but where it isn't a direct result of this pandemic, I hope the staff and owners will not be too offended and make the changes accordingly and with a grain of salt. Ordering is a bit confusing, even with the sign at the entrance. Order online and a time for pick up will be provided, ours was 1:45 minutes, despite a modest crowd at the time we sat down. I found out later that more people were hip to this process and ordered ahead of time to either pick up or dine in at the picturesque mountain courtyard. However we started a little put off by the wait, but what the hell we were in the mountains and there's a bonfire, our drinks wouldn't take that time right? Wrong, my cider and my dates cocktail took an hour and a half. However we were able to order drinks and donuts from the small airstream up front. Thankfully we bought a 4 pack of ciders, and a couple donuts. By the time our food arrived, it was dark, there were new friends and stories being shared, as well as many drinks. Our food arrived as scheduled, but was cold, probably due to the situation. The pizza (duck and very kraut) tasted fantastic, but the crust was undercooked and lacked the char of a beautiful wood fired oven. The duck was minimally noticed, but still present. The brook trout was a tasty dip with soggy pita; my suggestion is to highlight the trout, don't hide it in a dip. Like I said, mostly COVID, but could use some tweaks for an exceptional meal that was as memorable as the evening The Kaatskeller provided. The menu itself is quite creative and features many flavors of the NY region in the fall. The positives sound short, but have a lasting memory in our hearts. The idea of an outdoor kitchen and dining area is ballsy and brilliant, something the Kaatskeller nailed. The courtyard was packed with picnic tables and Bocce, as well as the aforementioned bonfire. As the sun went down over the beautiful mountain town, the entire place was lit by, what I can only refer to, as angel lights. We took our drinks by the fire, and ultimately our meal. Oscar kept the fire perfectly stacked and always warm, something I couldn't help but meddle with from time to time. Several people came and go and shared their journeys, but several stayed and for those people, thank you. What started as a weekend getaway turned into a highlight of my culinary travels that have introduced me to some of the greatest "strangers" I could have been blessed to call friends. In short, if you are in Livingston Manor, order your food ahead from the Kaatskeller online, that process is easy and simple. Sit by the fire and wait, greet the smiling faces of the world and listen to their stories. Enjoy a good meal and the drink of your choice. Let the scenery caress your presence and feel the mountain air change you....
