@milkwoodcafe 📍 Check out this new bottomless brunch for $59pp brunch spot with free flowing cocktails a salad side and your main of choice from 2 options of their brunch menu. 🌟☕️📍 Loved the vibe -such a cute cafe space with a hidden dining area out the back! Their mojitos are perfect for the summer weather 🌟☀️ coffees also awesome but a limited food menu compared to other spots 🙂☀️

We arrived at this cafe approx 9.27am on a beautiful Saturday morning. We were feeling a little sleepy as we’d had a couple of wines the night before but the iced long black and the magic coffee made by Freya REALLY perked us up. Truly service with a smile! We ordered the bacon and egg sandwich and the pickle mayo is to DIE for, I’d take a bath in it if I could. Lovely little outdoor area at the back. Lovely experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend (or foe - even foe’s deserve a lovely coffee too).

Good and friendly staff, very patient one. Went almost daily during my vacation for my daily coffee. 4 star for the food as the bread a little too hard for me, but that related to Asian preference.

Nestled in the CBD fringe, this is a great spot for lunch and coffee. We really enjoyed the quiet and comfortable setting in the back rooms. The staff were really nice and the food was great - it was a simple lunch of bacon and egg sandwiches, but they were great and the coffee was excellent. Worth a visit - and on the tram line to the city!

**Amazing experience at Milkwood!** This cosy little cafe feels like a home away from home, with charming decor and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are fantastic, and the coffee is top-notch. The eggs Benedict? Easily the best I’ve ever had. A true gem!

Another great Modern Australian brunch place, Milkwood had a nice ‘home’ feel to it. The (typical brunch) meals were delicious, the coffee was good, the service was friendly. The food and drink selections were decent as well. We had their banana cinnamon toast and eggs kerjiwal - and they were both really good! Highly recommend.

Pancakes were the bomb - lemon curd so yummy. Service was prompt and with a smile ♥️♥️

Not a bad place for a coffee and some pastry or muffin. Loved the taste but was a bit surprised that the iced coffee was that small. Muffin was quite tasty and not too sweet!

Yelp
This cafe turned out to be pretty good, and their breakfast options weren't all that bad either. Then again that is probably why I considered this place to be pretty good. Sure, it does get a little crowded at times, but that probably has something to do with the fact that it is pretty good. The service was great, and they made a pretty decent pot of tea as well. Oh, and the breakfast, well, that certainly was something that I quite enjoyed as well. Yeah, this is definitely a place to check out.

Yelp
I'm digging Milkwood. Hopefully soon to become a favourite hang-out of mine; its a great cafe find in the immediate area, with excellent coffee, and the ever sought after $10 priced baguettes for lunch. Cute little fit-out inside, and on my few visits, full with happy people, both dining and serving. definitely a local's favourite, but one worth checking out or taking a trip for.

Yelp
When I saw this place pop up I just knew I had to check it out. It wasn't necessarily the cute red bike that seems to be perennially chained up outside or the white wooden chairs placed around vintage tables that made me take notice. It was just that this place looked to my trained eye like a place where people are serious about what they do. Unfortunately the coffee was burnt which is a pretty common thing in many cafes but a little disappointing in a place that looks like it takes it's coffee seriously. What was more disappointing however, was the potato top smoked fish pie I ordered. I was told it had 'smoked salmon' and some other white fish (which slipped the waitresses mind - but she thought it was Whiting or some such) which turned out to solely consist of tinned salmon. Very very disappointing. The rest of the menu looked like it had promise. But considering my considerable second rate experience at Milkwood I will probably opt for one of the two other very good cafes that are situated within 10 meters of this place.

Yelp
Great almond coffee and good breakfast! Love the vietnamese roll. Service a bit slow on weekends though. Cosy environment

Yelp
I am a massive proponent of managing expectations. Especially when it comes to Melbourne's cafes whose reputations quite often precede them. Milkwood came highly recommended. Which is probably where my problems began. It just didn't manage to meet my much elevated expectations. I arrived at Milkwood a tad hungover and a lot ravenous and promptly ordered some lovely sounding incarnation of poached eggs on sourdough with sides of fennel sausage and bacon - fallen pig loving almost Jew that I am. So far so satiating. My breakfasting companion, however, was not so impressed with his lot. I don't want to steal his thunder, but I can say that the fish in his pie came from a can. Yes, a can. Tinned peaches are tolerable, but the main ingredient within $18 pies at trendy Brunswick cafes? Certainly not. I do like Milkwood's interior, all wooden floors, white walls and delightfully retro fittings providing the perfect, classic foil to its sometimes unusual menu items. But in light the tinned fish incident and the fact that Milkwood's coffee was only so-so? All in all a little disappointing.

Yelp
Milkwood was the second of the cafes to open on this, the previously cafe-less corner of Nicholson and Blyth in East Brunswick, and it's a fuckin' ripper. Anyone who knew (or knows) Rosamond off Smith Street, will be aware of the sandwich named after some lady named Di. Well, as it turns out, said Di was the founder of Rosamond and now, with her business partner, is the pioneer of Milkwood. These are serious cafe folk, with serious cafe pedigrees that do serious coffee in a not-so-serious environment. Lunches here are brought in from totally outside the box. No flat out bacon and eggs here, but you will find concoctions of eggs and beans in all manner of dishes that incorporate wide regions of flavours. Sound a bit hotch potch? It isn't. I can't recommend this place enough. Great coffee, great food, good folk. Go there.

Yelp
Milkwood is very conveniently located to my office which means breakfast or lunch meetings, and quick coffee duck outs! On a recent breakfast visit my companions and I all opted for eggs and sides and we were not disappointed. The toast was deliciously crunchy - so much so that we almost needed steak knives to cut it - and the eggs were poached to perfection! There was only one serve of the potato torta left so my friend insisted that we share and add a side of avocado too - thank goodness she was so insistent, that potato torta rocked my little world! Staff are always cheerful even when the place is buzzing with diners and there's a queue waiting for takeaway coffee!

Yelp
Coffees were good; however, my wife's coffee came out luke warm. They did happily remedied the problem by making her a new one. The muesli I had was extremely sweet and red in color. The sweetness was nice for the first and second bite but after that it was too much. I could not finish half of the severing they gave me. If you like hipsters this is the place for you. Will try again but with so many options in this neighborhood it might be a while before I go back.

Yelp
A great looking cafe with nice food and coffee. The hidden back section is particularly pleasant - spacious and perfect for conversational catch ups. Never too loud or over the top busy. Get yourself a booth!

Yelp
Wonderful friendly staff and a beautiful meal on a cold rainy day. I had the soup of the day (potato, leak and chickpea). Would highly recommend, particularly after just coming from a cup of tea at the Merri Table (Ceres) where service was poor.

Yelp
Lovely coffee and friendly staff. Go to items on the menu are the lamingtons (absolutely worth the five bucks) and poached eggs on pea, mint, and broadbean smash. A brunch to die for!

Yelp
Is Don, folks. Is Don. Milkwood is the kind of place that being the size of a pin head probably means that come the weekend it's hectic. On a weekday however, the service is cruisy, the food lovely and the coffee just right. Gluten-free and vegetarian options abound, it's most certainly one for the 'to try' pile.

Yelp
Milkwood is my idea of the perfect cafe. Small, quiet, friendly staff and speedy service with a smile. I ate cannellini beans and avocado on toast, which was absolutely delicious and super fresh. The waitress greeted my brother by name, remembered his coffee order and asked how his exams were going. Everything on the menu looked amazing and I will definitely be back to sample more of the delicious dishes on offer.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and the fresh sourdough with keep me coming back! Just by the corner of Blyth and Nicholson, you'll find Milkwood. A compact spot with a good range of brunch options, excellent choice for takeaway coffee. I loved the poached eggs with peas and mint on sourdough that I ordered and am keen to check out some more things. The wait for food was a little longer than ideal but the food was fresh and really tasty so it was definitely worth waiting. Leave any excess baggage at home and head in for a coffee at the cosy Milkwood.

Yelp
Just discovered this little cafe in my new hood. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. Casual vibe catering to hipsters and families at lunch on a weekday. Will definitely be back to try more dishes soon. And probably a pastry or two to go!

Yelp
Love Love Love this place. I head here as much as I can. And, since I live in a nearby street this is quite often. The food options are creative with lots of interesting vegetarian options. Servings are generous/large. Love the Cypriot style salad and they do the BEST corn fritters. Staff are friendly and cool. And, the cafe has a separate dining area up the side of the building so if it looks fulls- don't give up as there may be space to sit there.

Yelp
Always wanted to stop here for a coffee and today was it. Had an amazing lamington. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.
