We travelled down from Telford to stay at Mill End for a 3 day break, so hoping this was going to be a great winter get away. The moment we stepped in the door we were greeted with a lovely warm smile and welcoming greeting from Brady, who also took us up to the Tavy room. It was a spacious, beautiful room looking over the front garden. We opted for our welcoming drink after we had settled in, what a lovely 3 days we had.
The room itself had a twin bed which was really comfy, walk in wardrobe, fridge, shower over bath ensuite. What a delight to have Templespa products to use from hand wash, hair, to body lotions and the option to purchase at reception, I meant to buy some body lotion but distracted. Lovely wide range of beverage options, daily bottles of water, even milk in the fridge and some homemade biscuits.
Dinner and breakfast was on another level, Will is so talented with the menu and the execution of the food he produced. We have dined in Michelin starred restaurants and Mill End is up there to give them a run for their money. I've had soup, fish and meat all extremely tasty, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Iv'e never heard of aubergine and garlic soup so I had to try, I have to say it was smooth and so delicious I have the recipe ingredients and will be making it.
Desserts were again beautifully presented and delicious and the right portion after 2 courses already.
Breakfast had a buffet selection of cereals, fruits, yogurt, pastries, granola, juices etc. Hot selection was never ending, so much to choose from. I'm a poached egg lover to delighted with the options having the Eggs Royale and the Eggs Florentine versions, however it came with 2 eggs so after the first breakfast asked for 1. I'm a convert to the Florentine over the Royale now. Husband opted for English cooked breakfast which looked good and he enjoyed.
We had an afternoon tea on the day we were leaving. The selection was marvellous, stand out caramelised onion quiche, so light airy scones, best we've ever had. An array of cakes all homemade which makes all the difference.
Every interaction with staff was amazing all so friendly and charming, even keeping the log burner fed with wood in the cosy beautifully furnished lounge. We are not dog lovers (I have been attacked by a dog off and on a lead) but it looked like they were well catered for and they were well behaved in public places.
On leaving, and the reason `I was distracted we were handed a goodbye gift bag with water, truffles, pen and notepad. What?? To me that is going above and beyond customer satisfaction.
Just tremendous thank you to all the staff seen and not seen for giving us a wonderful winter break.
