We have dined here twice in the last year, it's honestly exceptional. The attention to detail is always spot on, you can taste the passion put into each dish and the chef is amazing. The smoked trout starter I had in November was one of the best things I've ever tasted. This restaurant is highly deserving of a Michelin star. The restaurant is in a fantastic location near to Chagford, and we enjoyed a beautiful walk to Fingle Bridge before dinner on one occasion. I love the quaint and historic influences and the cosy candle lit atmosphere. Country house fine dining with a chilled out atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming - the service was 5 star.

Two night stay with DBB in West Okement suite. Have stayed in this room before, but it has been updated beautifully since then and has a relaxing view over the side garden and countryside. |The superking bed is superb, very comfortable. The large sofa, which faces the gardens, is perfect for relaxing and reading. |The bathroom is very large, with a lovely deep bath and shower over. Temple Spa complimentary toiletries are provided by the sink and bath. |Our meals in the 2 AA rosette restaurant were superb, the most tender beef and guinea fowl on the first night, cod and lamb on the second, with tasty accompaniments. There was a non-meat option too which looked very good. We only had dessert one evening, but it was delicious, Jail Ale pudding and a cheese selection. Wine as always, complemented the meals and there is a great choice. |The staff are always friendly and efficient in all areas. It was nice to see a couple of them who have been there over the years we have stayed at the hotel. We didn't take our dog this time, but have stayed with dogs over the years, they get treats and it is well set-up, with the boot room and dog towels to use. The walks around are lovely and several start from the hotel. |We can only recommend this lovely country house hotel!

Stayed for two nights on DBB basis. The rooms were very clean, warm with comfy beds, sparkling bathroom with great toiletries and huge towels.|Pre- dinner drinks in relaxed lounge is great as you can chat to other guests.|Dinner was very excellent, plenty of choice and wine list is good. Breakfast was also very good. Staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. |Although dogs are allowed, we didn’t find them intrusive. Good walks locally and maps available from reception.

Absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing and the staff super friendly and helpful. |Good choice of reasonably priced wines at dinner and lovely lounge to have pre- dinner drinks in.||The dogs were very well catered for. We loved the treats packs and the special boot room to clean them off and the enclosed paddock to give them a run in. ||The location was great for Dartmoor walks and visiting Castle Drogo. ||We've already booked another stay. :)

We spent the night at Mill End last week . We often do this and have found nowhere we like more . Everything is perfect from the extremely friendly and helpful staff to the food the rooms and location. We take our small dog with us and there is every facility for him from a box of treats in the room to a doggy dining room and plenty of exercise places. If you want a perfect break you will find nowhere better.

Another wonderful stay at the Mill End hotel. Comfortable room, spotlessly clean and a delicious breakfast to wake up to. Dinner was spectacular on both evenings if our stay and the service was faultless. A truly delightful experience. Thank you.
