The hotel is lovely and very well located for touring around Bend. Having free, convenient parking was a bonus. Although, you don’t need a car to walk to the downtown area. We had a room with shared bathroom and we were nervous at first. There were two very large, clean, well-appointed bathrooms and only had to wait one time to use one. The breakfast was phenomenal! The waffles were some of the best I’ve ever had! The food was high quality, fresh, and abundant and the service was top-notch. We’d return just for the breakfast! The weather was a bit chilly to enjoy the outdoor space but it was very nice and welcoming.

THANK YOU MILL INN STAFF!!!! We have travelled all over the world and stayed in many 5 star resorts and amazing hotels but this was one of the BEST stays we’ve ever had! I can’t quite put my finger on WHY except that there was a unique freshness to it, something different than anywhere we’ve ever stayed. The rooms and decor so unique and beautiful. Like an art gallery. But better. The staff so friendly. The breakfast so delicious and home baked - the waffles unlike any we’ve ever tasted. The tea was even out of this world! My teenage daughter and I made so many memories watching shows in the comfortable lounge, walking to the Old Bend food trucks, walking to downtown Bend for amazing shopping and meals, an amazing cafe and movie-set flower shop across the street…. For me this was heaven! We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub under the stars, surrounded by twinkly lights every night. The beds so comfortable! I was in awe of every person who put their creativity into this Inn. Nothing else will ever compare. I can’t wait to come back!!! 💕. Thank you!!!!

We loved the Mill Inn! Stayed four nights & would go back again. Homemade delicious breakfasts are included, dont miss them. Location is walkable to restaurants, the river and downtown. Friendly vibe.

The Mill Inn “hotel” is a nice place to stay. The location is central to local restaurants and the hot tub is a great way to relax. There are some downsides for me, though. It is publicized as a “self-check in hotel” rather than a traditional B & B. Unlike most B & B's one is not greeted by a host or owner at check-in. For me that is unfortunate as I do like to get to know the innkeeper/owner just to get familiar with the place and feel welcome. But, for some people, that is not an issue. During my one night stay, it was a bit chilly in Bend – around 33 degrees at night. I discovered there were no controls in the room to adjust temperature. There was a note mentioned in the information packet that the room temp was centrally controlled. But no one was around to remedy the issue; although apparently you could call them. Fortunately, they provided a heavy blanket. Breakfast started at 7:30am, but I typically go looking for coffee before breakfast. I went downstairs to find coffee and a man, who came out of the kitchen, announced “breakfast is not until 7:30”. Well, I knew that and told him I was just looking for some coffee. He rather curtly said, “the coffee isn’t ready”. I said “ok, when will it be ready” – his response was a brusque “I don’t know”; then he hesitated and said “maybe in 5 minutes”. It seemed an odd way to greet a guest; especially when guests are typically greeted by the host at B & B’s with a pleasant “good morning”. That encounter was something I would not expect as a guest at most B & B's or guesthouses...and I have been to many throughout the world. The breakfast was tasty but unlike other reviewers, I didn’t think the waffles were extraordinary. Overall, the Mill Inn is fine but don’t expect the personal attention that most B & B’s offer that are managed by an on-site host or owner.

Great location within walking distance of downtown, Crux Fermentation Project, and Boneyard Brewing. Breakfast was delicious and staff is friendly. The Seattle suite is on the bottom floor, near the front door, so probably has a bit more noise that the others but it was minimal.

Adorable Inn located in a prime location in Bend. You wouldn’t even need a car to get around! Coffee shops, restaurants, shopping center, lazy river floating, all within walking distance. There are also bike shops that you can rent bikes from, and also the Bird Bikes. The Inn is really cute and has a modern-antique decor vibe. Each room has their own theme. The only bummer is that it’s right on a busy street so you’ll hear a lot of cars and motorcycles passing through even during the night. Breakfast is chef’s kiss and supreme for a bed and breakfast. Waffles are flipping amazing and service is awesome. The staff are nice and I think the guy who owns the place goes there in the morning to make breakfast. Nice guy and always strikes up friendly conversation. I recommend Bend OR in general and it’s nice to come here with family (like we did). It’s a nice escape from the big city. Honestly, would love to come back.

Charming bed and breakfast. Easy check in. Breakfast room and the 2 rooms we reserved had unique colors and fun decor. Yes, there is traffic noise early in the morning, so if you are wanting a very quiet place, this won't be for you. For us, that's a small negative given the excellent location, superior breakfast provided all 4 mornings (the waffles, OMG!), thick and ample towels and cute back yard hot tub area. Mattress in River Suite was a little soft, but it wasn't an issue. Would happily return and will be spreading the word!

Yelp
The Mill Inn provided a lovely spot for a date night with my husband recently. I knew he'd love it, and sure enough, on the drive home he mentioned how much he enjoyed our stay and how he'd like to return. We stayed in the River Wild room, which had an outdoor entrance. The bed was comfortable, and the room was straightforward. Across the street is a coffee shop by day that turns into a nonalcoholic upscale bar type place in the evening. The breakfast was exceptional, and I appreciated their offer to make me some scrambled eggs since I'm allergic to dairy and could have the (delicious looking) frittatas. I was thrilled to have Metolius tea there. The hot tub is a nice amenity, though it was a bit scummy when I went in. I also was unaware that there was hot (and cold) water available in a book by the breakfast room for guests, and a mini fridge. None of the emails had mentioned anything about those, nor could I find any info in the room. So this is your heads up! I really wanted a cup of tea before bed, so having this info would have been appreciated. It's centrally located and great for walking to wherever you want to go, if that's your thing. (Or drive if it's not, lol)

Yelp
Comfy Room and Delicious Breakfast! While traveling from CA to ID, we decided to drive north from Crater Lake to stay the night in Bend -- and we were very glad that we did! I found Mill Inn on this app and liked the description. Although i booked the room last minute on a holiday weekend, we ended up delighted with our experience. An email arrived right away and gave us instructions for checking in. The room (#8 New York) was tastefully decorated, clean, and comfy! The sitting parlor and dining room had vintage decor and enhanced my desire to sit and relax there. The breakfast included waffles with homemade syrup and fresh whipped cream, 2 different quiches, bacon, sausage, diced potatoes, scones, fresh fruit, and OJ. It was delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. We would return in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Really neat B&B, located just blocks from the old district and downtown. The breakfast was amazing and filled us up until an early dinner.

Yelp
We stay here at least twice a year. Central location and the breakfasts are wonderful. Lots of shopping and activities nearby.

Yelp
Check in could not have been easier for me and my husband on our recent trip to Bend. All we needed was a code at the door to let ourselves "inn". It was fun to see all beautifully appointed rooms, that were open, with keys and chocolates, waiting for the next guest, as we were the only ones booked in the middle of winter. We were so excited to be spending three nights here. Sheri greeted us warmly the next morning and guided us through our breakfast options. The waffles were amazing. Scones were left out for us if we wanted a snack any time, and a bowl of fruit. The next morning, we met Zane as he was in the kitchen, and also checking on his guests. At the time local restaurants were doing take out only, so he offered us the use of the kitchen, in case we wanted to make our own dinner. We were tempted, but decided we didn't want to do dishes. The extended trust and offer of hospitality was very much appreciated. The paintings by a local artist really reflect the culture of Bend, and the chandeliers gave each room and the dining hall a touch of rustic elegance. The first night we stayed in a forward bedroom and the bed was smaller than we are used to at home, so we contacted Zane the next day and requested permission to move down the hall. No problemo! The king sized bed in the Romance room felt just like our Tempurpedic at home and we slept great the last two nights. A detail I loved the most was the self-serve tea station featuring the local purveyor, Metolius. I tried almost all of them as a strategy to keep warm and hydrated in winter. My husband appreciated the big screen TV in the forward sitting, and the ability to connect to our favorite streaming services when we settled in at night. My favorite part was sitting in the armchair with an afghan just sipping a cup of tea and watching the beautiful snow falling.

Yelp
Stayed in the Seattle room in August 2019. First room as you walk in. Lovely bed and breakfast with an eclectic Victorian style. Beautiful chandeliers and you self Check in. Everything was clean and the location is center to outlets and downtown. There is noise from the street and because it's an old house but most people who stay are respectful and they provide white noise machines in the room. I would stay again. Better for couples with no children.

Yelp
This BnB has comfortable beds and a wonderful breakfast. We were very happy staying here. It located near the city center.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Love staying here! We have stayed at the Mill Inn twice over the last few years. Really cute and unique bed and breakfast that is within a half mile walk to downtown one way or the old mill district the other way as well as the box factory in Bend. Every room has its own flair (we have stayed in the Western and the Bachelor). Breakfast is served every morning and lots of options to choose from including potatoes, bacon, sausage, toast, oatmeal, fruit, local tea and coffee and sometimes freshly made scones as well as the chef offering to make fresh waffles. One of the days we stayed here this past week, the chef was also the artist who has his paintings throughout the dining area. Very cool and kind guy and was fun getting to know him a little bit while we ate. He gave us awesome recommendations for places to go see and eat in Bend, one being Wild Rose Thai which ended being our favorite restaurant. Definitely will be back again to the Mill Inn .

Brandon M.

Yelp
Best place to stay! Great food, great atmosphere. Perfect location to get downtown or the old mill.

Yelp
Awful customer service, tried calling to cancel rude guy answered told me to do it online. Went online and pressed cancel got a message to call lol he seemed so annoyed to be there. Asked him if I was going to be charged and he said "nothings been charged" 3 times in a rude tone and then hung up. Don't work in hospitality if you can't handle a simple phone call.

Yelp
This is an update that I am sad to write. My husband and I stayed one night last Saturday which happened to be the coldest night in months (17 degrees by early Sunday morning). We came into the house using the code they emailed to us. Not a soul in sight. Walked upstairs to our room "King Suite" where the door was wide open w/ a key for the room and two chocolates on the bed. It was so cold outside we tried to find the heat control for the room and there was none! Our room was about 70 degrees. I was so cold I had to take a HOT shower to warm up. Not a fan of this inn when you have to shower to warm up. Too few towels (no wash clothes and no hand -towel on the sink). No hair dryer as I recall. TV worked fine as well as internet. We went to dinner and came back. The cold and wet weather was causing ice to form so I was trying to be careful walking slowly from the parking lot to the front door. Walking on the patio adjacent to the parking lot I hit an icy spot right as I stepped down on a stair and fell. Luckily, my left thigh hit the first step down and took the blow. Thankfully I did not hit the ground face down. The bed! A HORRIBLE bed. Springs were shot and it was mushy! We mentioned this to the chef the next morning and she said the owner was going to replace some of the mattresses in time. WELL, PAST TIME to do something that should have been done a lot sooner than now. Breakfast was nice. Very carb centric which does not work for Keto people like me. I ate some bacon and sausage but the only eggs were on top of the hash. My husband gave me one of his eggs since he eats carbs like potatoes. As we packed our bags to leave I heard a loud bang and looked out our back window and saw a woman who slid on the deck on her way DOWN a flight of stairs. She could have fallen down those stairs!!! I saw her get up and carefully walk down the stairs. I checked out the landing at the top just outside the exit door and sure enough, ICE on the wood deck! This place is a danger zone in wintertime! The owner lives in San Francisco so I tried to send an email about our experience last Monday. Never got a reply. So....beware of cold rooms, icy conditions and poor sleeping conditions in winter if you stay here. We are going elsewhere on our next visit to Bend.

Yelp
Neat little B&B located within walking distance to Downtown or the Old Mill District. Check in is self-service with a key-code that's emailed to you in advance. I have no issues with not being greeted by the owners. The only person we met that worked for the inn was the breakfast attendant (who was very nice). Our room was small and basic (golf room) with a shared men's bathroom / shower down the hall (very nice) - there's an additional bathroom on the main level in the dining area. * (One issue that arose was the upstairs men's toilet got plugged up. Couldn't find a plunger so used the downstairs bathroom. I could have asked the breakfast girl, but didn't want to bother.) Spring bed was a queen size and decent, with nice pillows. It did get kind of warm in the evening (even though I left the window open). Also, we didn't notice the electric fan in the corner until morning which may have helped. With the window open there is some noise from Colorado or Bond streets. If you're a light sleeper this may be an issue. Both of us didn't have a problem with it. Other amenities include a private backyard area with fire pit, jacuzzi, chairs, etc. There's a parking area for guests as well. The "Star of the Show" is the morning breakfast buffet served 7:30-9:30am) Our meal included 2 different quiche's (meat and veggie), Sausage, made to order waffles, bacon, homemade muffins, Good coffee and OJ. 2 meals were included in the room cost. I read you can buy them separately if you're staying at their sister B&B. We really liked this B&B as the price for the Golf Room was comparable to some basic motel's nearby and included the amazing breakfast. We will stay here again on our next trip to Bend!

Yelp
This review is strictly for the breakfast, as our bed was at The Tudor Inn, their sister B&B. Mill Inn is a 10-15 minute walk from The Tudor Inn. The first thing that I noticed upon arriving was the music. It was really loud and I was grateful that our room was at another inn, and not upstairs. They offer a large spread of food. They had two frittatas on warming plates, one with mushroom, onion, and blue cheese, the other with salami, cucumber, and caramelized onion. Also warmed was breakfast potatoes, sausage, and bacon. I got a bit of the potatoes and the sausage. In addition to all of that, they also have a variety of breads for toasting and spreads (including Nutella!), muffins, granola, and yogurt. Coffee is readily available and they make waffles to order. I had the mushroom frittata and it was good. Both the potatoes and sausage seemed freshly made, although overly salty for my taste. The fresh fruit was delicious. My honey had one of the muffins (marionberry?) and he found it good, although very sweet. He also thought that some of the other food had a strange sweetness to it, similar to the muffin. There were plenty of tables for those of us enjoying breakfast. One of the staff checked-in with us a couple times, including bringing us a bowl of fresh fruit to share, as well as offering us orange juice. Overall, our experience here was okay. I'd consider returning if we stay at the Tudor Inn in the future, although I might pass and visit a local restaurant instead.

Yelp
Unfortunately, we were really disappointed by this place. We stayed here last weekend for a little weekend of hiking and biking around town. Pros: Parking, location, breakfast was yummy. Cons: The room was incredibly tiny and the Inn is LOUD. We were in the Western Room which is in the corner so we were battling street noise at the busy intersection as well as other lots of noise from other occupants at the Inn. Both nights, we woke up to people slamming doors as they came home between 11PM-2AM, people talking in hall ways after hours, and the walls were so thin I could hear neighbors in their rooms talking as well as snoring. Neither of us got any sleep the entire weekend. If this place was priced better I think it would have been a "you get what you pay for" situation, but for over 100 dollars a night, I thought it was a huge disappointment.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mill Inn for our 1 year anniversary and we loved it. Cozy rooms, a clean and modern bathroom, and an excellent location. All the breweries and downtown activity is a short ten minute walk away. Self check in was easy and we loved the added touch a couple chocolates on our bed. Chef Brittney made some excellent breakfast, (waffles with homemade whipped cream and jam, eggs, bacon, sausage, scones, fruits, and a wide selection of locally grown teas), and gave us great suggestions on things to do around Bend. Thank you Mill Inn for your accommodation and for making our trip to Bend a memorable one. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
A cute old boarding house in historic Bend, OR. Prices were low ($80/night + tax) for a B&B. The rooms were kinda funkily decorated- with a mish-mosh of styles. The bed was comfy- they had lots of pillows! Centrally located to the historic business district, too. We had a hard time figuring out the AC, and we also were unfortunate enough to have one of the 2 front rooms, which meant that we had to hear a lot of road noise all night. They also have a huge hot tub, which we were all ready to use and then I crashed out on the bed in my suit! Breakfast in the morning was worth all of the hassles, though. Fresh fruit, fresh oj, waffles (best I've ever had) dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar, quiche, eggs and bacon cooked to order.... it made our 10 hour drive bearable. Definitely recommended if you're heading that way.

Yelp
What is right about Mill Inn? *Great location. Walking distance to downtown, many other things to do. *Affordable in comparison to other B & B or boutique hotels. *Easy off street parking. *Stylish and attractive interior design. Then there are things that we didn't enjoy, and they grew each day. *First, Mill Inn is at the intersection of two pretty busy streets. There is traffic and noise about 22 hours a day. Sleep quality was poor. *The management seems to turn off/up the A/C at night so the room was very stuffy, but when we opened the window, again ... Noise. *The room was generally worn - broken knobs, broken light switch, broken door lock, scuffs on the wall, toilet running so we almost always had to lift the lid to get it to stop. *The chairs in the dining area were all the lightweight cafe type chairs and some were very worn and we feared we'd be tumbling to the floor soon! *Thin walls - I could listen to my neighbor's phone calls and Netflix. *pretty impersonal - no interaction or greeting by owners. Felt more boarding house than B & B. Two personal issues: *They use scented detergent or dryer sheets. If you (like we) are sensitive to scent, this is going to be hard on you. *The rooms without en suite use communal bathrooms. I am not sure if there wasn't good ventilation, but often when we'd come upstairs there would be highly unpleasant odors in the hallway. Ugh. We will probably not return. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good enough.

Yelp
Mill Inn is our favorite place when we visit Bend. We've been coming back for a few years. Their rooms are very nice, clean and all have cute decorations. The breakfast is always fresh and delicious. The location is great for walking around downtown Bend. Lots of cool breweries. The staff at Mill Inn are friendly. We have told our friends about the Mill Inn and now they love coming back also. Thank you to the wonderful people who run the Mill Inn.

Rick P.

Yelp
Didn't stay at this property but had the ability to attend breakfast. Great food, great people, wonderful establishment!

Tedy D.

Yelp
I loved everything about my stay. I spend 2 nights, and couldn't have been happier with the service, room, location, and breakfast. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, gave me bunch of great recommendations about what to do, hike, etc. The chef was sweet and friendly as well and chatted about the advantages of cast iron skillets. The breakfast was to die for and their waffles were da bomb. Great job! Overall great people and a cute and comfortable place to stay. I'll stay there any time I'm in town.

Nicole N.

Yelp
Loved staying here!! Can't wait to come back. The rooms were cute and the food was great. Location was very convenient. First time B&B experience! Definitely satisfied.

Allison M.

Yelp
My review is for breakfast only. I stayed at the sister Tudor Inn and they offer breakfast at the Mill Inn. It was one of the best buffet style breakfasts. Their made to order waffles are to die for. We almost did t get one and I'm so glad we did. Heaven in my mouth. There's a server to pour OJ and being waffles. There was thick cut bacon, 3 different frittatas, freshly baked Muffins and scones, fruit and potatoes, etc etc. The setting is comfortable too. Really enjoyed.

Mike G.

Yelp
Charming B&B in a great location. Close to downtown and many breweries. Park the car and walk everywhere. Room was real comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great and the staff was real nice.

Hannah M.

Yelp
such a fun experience. breakfast was awesome & the rooms were all unique! so happy my family stayed here for the weekend

Meghan N.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on the second night of our road trip honeymoon and it was AMAZING! In fact, it was so amazing that we decided to stay another night. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The breakfast was delicious and the room was comfortable and cozy. You do hear your neighbors in the rooms next to you but for the overall experience, I would say it's a small price to pay. We are definitely coming back!!!

Laurey W.

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights just this past week on our honeymoon adventure through Oregon. We stayed in the river view suite. The breakfast was really great and would give breakfast at least 4 stars, those waffles...MMM! However, we were never greeted upon arrival and had no idea how to get into our room but that was fixed with an easy phone call. The Inn was pretty loud due to it being on the corner of a semi-busy intersection and our windows had very minimal coverage. The AC basically gets turned way up or even off at night and we were so hot/stuffy so we did not sleep all that well either night. Again, no one was ever around to chat with or ask for extra towels which we found odd for being an inn. We would not stay here again.

Jane W.

Yelp
I'm gonna give a 5 star rating because for me the bed is everything. The bed was good. My bed is the best but it's hard to find a good bed when you're on the road. So the bed defines the stay for me. We stayed in room #10 and were pleased. We had our own bathroom which is a must for adults. We just don't want to share a bathroom with folks who hog the bathroom for hours on end. We have stuff to do right? The breakfast was a real treat. There were 2 fritattas to choose from. The scones were absolutely delish and the waffles were unique and way over the top. There was some whipped cream (the real kind) and a peach marmalade syrup (not too sweet) for topping. I absolutely loved the waffles! Then there was bacon, sausage, and potatoes. Don't forget the other standards: granola, yogurt, toast, etc. and coffee, of course. Also, they offered orange juice. I was in breakfast heaven. I recommend the Mill Inn and will be back in August for another treat!

Crystal H.

Yelp
I might have a unique story. Roadtripping through Bend, we decided that just one night was not enough and when the St Francis was full, they sent us over to the Mill -- and I'm so glad they did. David let us in and showed us a few rooms to choose from, giving us details on all three. We settled into Room 8. I will now refer to this room as Blue Steel. First, because it's blue. Oh, so very blue. And second, because the pictures on the wall all reference New York. (There is that statue of liberty standing outside too). The bed and shower were fantastic after a number of nights camping. There's no TV in this room, but there are in others, like Room 10. I would say this room is on the loud side, with the street traffic below, but I'm used to city noise, so it wasn't much of a bother for me. But the piece de resistance? It's not the reliable wi-fi, it's not the shady parking stalls lined with old brass headboards, it's not the accommodating service. It's the breakfast. 7. Courses. 7! The day we were there it included fresh baked scones, a big fruit bowl, eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage and a delicious quiche. With rooms starting as low as $30 (for shared bath) up to $100 (TV, king bed, private bath) AND this breakfast ... that's worth giving up tenting for.

Jeff M.

Yelp
A Haiku Review of Mill Inn: Awesome -- for the price. Super clean and comfortable. Could hear our neighbors...

Tammy Y.

Yelp
The bf and I just checked out of The Mill Inn and we had a FANTASTIC stay. After reading all of the reviews and looking at all of the pictures online, we decided to go with the New York suite w/ a private bathroom. The first night, there was only one other couple staying at the inn so not a huge deal if you pick an option with a shared bath. The inn completely filled up over the weekend so the private bath came in very handy! The hot tub in the back is nice, even on chilly days. We climbed in and warmed up and by the time we got out, the air no longer felt nippy. Free wifi is a huge plus - since we didn't plan we used it every night to figure out the next day's activity line-up. Everyone has already mentioned this but David, the owner, cooks a MEAN breakfast. The first morning we woke up to an array of salmon quiche, eggs made-to-order, belgian waffles, fresh fruit, different types of delicious bread (the blueberry streudel was my favorite), fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, cereal, and the absolute highlight.......FRESHLY BAKED SCONES!!!!! I must have eaten a dozen scones during my stay - they are AMAZING and David always offered us little ziploc baggies to take them as snacks for our hike. Seriously, they're perfectly soft, not-to-sweet, slightly salty, rich, delicious, buttermilk-y GOODNESS! Since David is a local, he has plenty of great knowledge of the entire Bend and surrounding areas. When we mentioned we wanted to go to the Lava River Cave, David grabbed a flashlight to lend us so we wouldn't have to go purchase them! Honestly, the room is a bit loud since it's next to the main street but I always travel with a pair of earplugs so not a huge biggie for me. So many things about this place make it a solid 4 star option but David's hospitality really puts it over-the-top. FIVE STARS for The Mill Inn! We will be staying here again!

Stella W.

Yelp
Know what you're getting. It's not the Four Seasons - but I'd rather stay here anyway for the location, character, and friendly staff. Rooms are somewhat small but very clean and most share a bath though we never had to wait during our no-vacancy weekend stay. Location is excellent - walk to shops, breweries, the river trail. Value is outstanding - great breakfast included. The scones may be the best I've ever had. David - who runs the B&B - was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Really going above and beyond expectations when helping us with bike rental logistics. If you're looking for a little more space try the cottage which is a 1/2 mile away but still a pleasant walk to town - and it's next door to Boneyard Brewery - good ale. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I arrived after 9:30p and oriented myself in the bed and breakfast as no one greeted me in nor was there any note welcoming me. That's cool, though I would have preferred a greeting (customary?). I stayed in the Mt. Bachelor room on a Thursday night. I had no idea the small room itself was in the corner of the house that was already in a busy intersection, but the street noise didn't bother me too much (maybe since I had lived in a big city before?). The linens in my bed were luxurious and I think that also may have something to do in my sleeping fairly well. I didn't mind using the women's bathroom down the hallway, but expected to have a bathrobe in my room as I've been accustomed to having one at other B&B's. The women's bathroom had a plush floor mat and extra towels. It was also very clean. The bathroom door itself freaked me out a bit since it was frosted glass and I wondered I could be seen from the hallway, but decided that someone else would have made a fuss about it before me and the owner would have changed it if it was an issue. It was unfortunate that the wi-fi was not working. I called the manager about it but he was not in the building so he couldn't troubleshoot. I also didn't get a confirmation that I could have breakfast early after I emailed them a request the day before. Though I was able to get my delicious quiche, moist scone and banana to-go the next morning, it would have been nice to get a notice that it would have been okay.

Yelp
Well appointed rooms and very good breakfast (the waffles are AMAZING). But not my idea of a good B&B. 1) There's no interaction with the hosts at all, except at the breakfast table (barely). When I stay at a B&B, I expect to be able to chat up the hosts and get some insights into the place/history/culture/etc. If I want self-checkin and an impersonal experience, I'd go to a hotel instead. 2) While breakfast was great, service was not. We waited for nearly 15 minutes for them to offer us waffles before I gave up and asked for it. Eggs to order were supposed to be on the menu, but no one asked us if we wanted them either. I will not come back to this place.

Yelp
Comfortable room, great location and AMAZING breakfast in the morning. The breakfast consisted of 3 homemade quiches, donuts, fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs made to order and belgian waffles made to order. It was one of the better breakfasts I've had, possibly ever. The owner is a very sweet guy. I had to cancel our second night there and it took him a while to get back to me, so I thought he was just inattentive, but I could see at breakfast that he's probably just ridiculously busy keeping up with the amazing breakfast he cooks daily and keeping everything in order. He was SO accommodating. I would definitely stay here again if in Bend!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here this past week for our honeymoon, after a personal recommendation from friends who stayed here for New Years. Our friends were adamant that the waffles themselves were worth the stay and they are so right! The breakfast is delicious (seriously, the waffles -- I can't even!), the location is perfect smackdab in the middle (walking distance to everything), and the house itself is comfy and welcoming. We stayed in a room with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom and everything was clean and ready when we checked in, even before posted "check in" time! We heard a fellow guest complain of traffic noise and other guests coming/going but 1) this is a historical house and there's not much you can do about insulation etc., and 2) it's nothing that a pair of ear plugs doesn't fix. My husband had no trouble sleeping and I brought/used ear plugs which worked just fine for me! When we come back to Bend (...gotta finish the Ale Trail!), we'll stay here again!

Yelp
Price is great as is the concept. You will be very close to downtown. However, this is definitely a B&B for the bar crowd. Expect to be awoken at 2:30. Expect to hear ev-ar-y-thing. Yeah, you know that thing you're thinking of? You're going to hear it. The common areas were impeccable, but our room was dusty (though to be fair, it is really hard to keep velvet clean). Additionally, our sheets had evidence of bodily fluid and the inn keeper was quite dismissive of our request for new ones. We didn't make it over for breakfast--yet breakfast time was like nothing else I've experienced in a B&B. The inn keeper actually traipsed up and down the hallway, banging on doors and calling some people by name, announcing "last call" for breakfast. Now, I'm certain that this practice developed over time, in response to the hungovers missing their grub and coffee. However, I'd rather take my chances on missing a meal and be treated like a responsible adult.

Yelp
We stayed here for a second time. Unbelievable! We stayed in the fall. Most recently this past weekend for a ski trip. Free wifi, big tables to hang out and drink coffee at are a big plus for me and my wife. The owner is always friendly and the service is beyond most hotels. The location is fantastic. we were able to walk downtown (4 blocks) for dinner in one direction. In the other is the Old Mill District with more food and shopping. There is a place to put your skis for safekeeping. The hot tub apres ski was great as well. Its located outside so may be cold getting out for some but we didn't mind. As mentioned in previous reviews, the breakfast here is ridiculously good. First day we got Belgian waffles, sausage, bacon and potatoes to go along with some toast and jam. Fresh coffee and OJ to boot. The second day we tried a salmon tortilla quiche and a pork cutlet quiche with scones. Fantastic. My wife and I like to meet other travelers and exchange stories. Only one other couple staying here while we were here were in the mood to socialize at night and in the AM. Of course David is great to chat with and has lots of insight into the area. Will be coming back to do some cycling and hiking in the summer. for those of you concerned about sharing a bathroom, this is our second time here and we were the only ones using the shared bathroom. Everyone else must be staying in the rooms with the private baths.

Yelp
Staying at the Mill Inn was definitely a highlight of our road trip through Bend. Despite my girlfriend and I being on a tight budget, paying a little extra to stay in the Mill Inn was well worth it considering the clean-cozy atmosphere and the smorgasbord of foods for breakfast (oh the waffles were delectable!!). Do note, however, that we did not see the owners during our stay (it's a check in check out on your own accord type of place) so it's not a visit where you get that staying in someone's home feel. But great stay and easy walk to downtown!

Yelp
Bed first: I like how low key check-in is. You just enter in the door code and your key is in your assigned room. Room was clean and the bathroom down the hall was sparkling clean and very nice! Great shower!! The bed was soft for my tastes but some people like that. I like my beds on the firmer side. The street noise was a little loud. I sleep with ear plugs in always so this didn't bother me but my husband mentioned it. Breakfast next: Awesome breakfast!!!!!!!! Wow what a spread! Great buffet plus the kitchen can make you eggs to order. Delicious coffee too. Fresh fruit and orange juice at every table. They are ultra friendly too! Definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
This is our absolutely favorite place to stay in Bend, OR. We've stayed twice now, and everything is great. David and his staff are super helpful. We love the laid back atmosphere! The location is awesome, right between downtown and the Old Mill District. The price is great. We're not super high-maintenance travelers, so we don't need much. I love that the price is set at a point that we can be repeat visitors several times throughout the year. The breakfast is awesome. We had quiche, bacon, ham, sausage, cereal, toast, scones. Oh man. I'm probably missing a lot. For us, the Mill INN is as good as it gets. Great breakfast, comfy rooms, great staff, and the right price. We'll be back. Thanks again David!

Yelp
This is our first time staying in a Bed and Breakfast. Everyone and everything was amazing and the next time I come to Bend I will definitely be staying here again. And the food was beyond great

Yelp
Just stayed in Bend at the Mill Inn for 3 nights, as we explored the town. We were very pleasantly surprised and felt that this place was a great value for the price, even considering our two little cons. Pros - David, the manager, is a fantastic cook. Breakfast every morning is an amazing spread, and even though we were the only people in the whole place on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning we woke up to the same awesome buffet. Quiches, burritos, ham, bacon, eggs to order, the most delicious belgian waffle that was perfectly crispy, scones, toasts, breads, greek yogurt and granola, fruit, etc. AMAZE-balls. Oh, and really good coffee. Rooms are small but very nicely appointed, and very clean. Bathrooms are tastefully tiled in white and just really cute, with memory foam mats and fluffy white towels. Even the shared bathroom in the hallway is really nice - we are squeamish about sharing but honestly after seeing it in person, we would do that next time, since it's a little cheaper and the bathrooms are just so clean and luxurious! The owner, Zane, and the manager, David, are both helpful and accommodating. We thought we'd have to stay an extra day and Zane blocked it off for us just in case. David helped out with recommendations on places to eat around town, neighborhoods, etc. The morning we left, they offered to pack us food for the road, and got us to-go cups for coffee. LOCATION - you can't beat the location. You can walk to the Old Mill District, Mirror Pond and Drake Park, and the whole downtown area, which has a good mix of cheap places and high-end places to eat and shop at. The road the Mill Inn is located on is the one that takes you straight to Mt. Bachelor, only a 15-20 minute drive. Amenities - basement with foozball, laundry, and a hang out area, and a backyard with a hot tub, fire pit, and hang out "tent" area. FREE WIFI! Cons - You can totally hear your neighbors, so on a crowded weekend be prepared to party. My BF and I are used to sleeping on a memory foam mattress, so we annoyed each other with our tossing and turning on the regular spring mattress. Tip - I would call and ask for the rooms at the front of the Inn for the quietest spot, or the River Wild suite at the back.

Yelp
This place was a great home base for my wife and I to get to know Bend. Walking distance to almost anything in town. Great prices, amazing hospitality, delicious breakfast. The owner is fantastic and friendly. There is a hot tub!! The rooms are small, clean. Beautiful bathrooms in the rooms that have them. Walls can be a little thin. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay someplace nice, unique, and not super pricey. We will be back!

Yelp
This is such a great little B&B. We stumbled on it after a full day of driving and were exhausted. They accommodated us despite the last minute reservation and a little hiccup in getting the entry code, but it worked out wonderfully. The room (we stayed in the River Wild Suite) was so comfy and cute. Lovely patio area with hot tub, close to downtown pubs, restaurants and activities. We couldn't stay for breakfast (which I hear is fabulous) but the dining room is beautiful and we were sad to miss it. We will definitely stay again when we aren't in a hurry!

Yelp
3 nights in early October and really enjoyed the stay. When I'm at a B & B I judge two things the B and the B. The first B was a little too soft on the mattress front and didn't have enough pillow. Can't please everyone I hear you say!! The second B was out of this world. If you want a real breakfast to set up up for the day then this is the place for you. All fresh and in quantity you'll have no complaints on this B. Located nicely between the Old Mill District and DownTown it's a 10 minute walk to both which is perfect for sampling all that Bend has to offer.

Yelp
Unforgettable breakfast. Great location. Walking distance to most things. Other guests are always friendly and up for chatting, too. Room decor was neat. Was there in mid-Dec and wish our room was warmer but we could find extra blankets pretty easily. Would definitely recommend/return to this place :)

Yelp
Funky little inn with a fantastic innkeeper My son and I stayed here last night. David, the owner, is a very gracious host. Easy to book a room. We stayed in the NY room, 2 twins with a shared bath. Room was small, but well put together. Had everything that we needed. The beds were comfy, and the drapes actually block the light. The breakfast is really to die for. Seriously the nicest breakfast we have had in a very long time. I had told David that we were both gluten free and at breakfast there were so many gluten free options it was amazing. He had made fresh baked GF scones with blackberries, blueberries, and cream cheese. He was also prepared to make some kind of hash for us in lieu of the beautiful quiches. Super generous and attentive. I don't know how he could possibly have the time to attend to his guests and do the cooking as well as he does. He must not sleep. :) It would be quite the challenge to fill his shoes!! Bend is very lucky to have him. Everything here is super clean and well taken care of. All of the little details really make this a special place.Great location close to everything in downtown Bend. Only wish that we would have had time to use the hot tub! My only gripe is that the walls are thin, which isn't such a big deal except that the guests on the other side of the wall had their iphone messaging tone going off regularly and loudly. Seriously?

Yelp
This place is incredible. We stayed here two weeks ago for two nights. At first we were very hesitant due to never staying at a B&B before but we were pleasantly surprised. We showed up last minute after making a decision to check it out. Spoke to Zane the owner who is extremely friendly and welcoming. We took the king bed with our own bathroom which was perfect. You can walk to downtown which has some of the best breweries I have ever tried. The breakfast is from 7:30-9am I believe, the chef makes some killer food !! Top notch food, plus the Belgium waffles he made is seriously the best waffle I have ever had!!! We would stay here again in a heart beat. For $125 for the night you couldn't go wrong. Cheers

Yelp
The Mill Inn bed and breakfast was a delightful experience during our stay in Bend. Other than some cars on the street, the inn was very quiet. The bathroom down the hall was always available and clean with a hot shower. Our room was fairly small but we were out exploring all day so who cares! We looked forward to their unbelievably delicious and abundant breakfast in a cozy atmosphere. Service was perfect. Really great value for the price. Cooks and owner were very friendly. Highly recommend! Oh and the chef even made me a gluten free Belgium waffle!
