Beautiful art and important history bundled together. Four seasons guided tour was wonderful and really showcased indigenous life! I loved the photographs of people and learning Ojibwe words, miigwe ch!

This is a favorite destination when we visit our family in Minnesota! Our recent visit included 6 kids ages 5-10 and one senior. Upon entering, the main room is bright, clean, and colorful. Our kiddos instantly gravitated to the craft and fun learning activities in the huge room. Thank you for getting their minds engaged instantly. We spent about an hour at the museum and really loved the four seasons room! The docent volunteers were knowledgable and great advocates for their respective cultures. I was honored to bring my kids to learn at such a great venue. The gift shop was nice, too. The restored building was beautiful! The kids did a good job of gravitating toward items that were specific for their age. The native pride and native-made items were refreshing to see. Overall, 10/10. Although we won't visit every year that we visit due to the distance from our MN relatives, it's definitely a place I recommend!

Absolutely amazing place! We were there on a filed trip and loved it. The kids had fun and the adults did, too! The staff was amazing and had so much to teach! Will definitely be trying to go back there again! There was so much more to see than we allotted time for!

Small museum with an abundance of informational history. Waited for the four seasons tour and our guide was delightful. Free parking and the entrance fee was affordable.

They have a section to show how they lived through each season. It was well built and very informative.

Excellent place to learn about their history and really get a feel for how their life and culture was. Plus very knowledgeable staff.

It's alright. Now there's not a lot of depth of information in the building. There's some history through fairly recent events but very little on how the Ojibwe and Dakota truly lived.

This was a very nice place to learn about Indian history. I wish there were more Indians working there for more personal information.

Yelp
Interesting content- native made items and descriptions. Helpful and informative staff. I enjoyed the guided presentation of native life in the different seasons.

Yelp
A must see when visiting the Onamia/Garrison area... Disappointed we haven't stopped in sooner. We were here today with our Boy Scout Troop who completed the Indian Lore Merit Badge with Bradley's help. We arranged it in advance, but the museum actually opened just for us today and worked with the Scouts directly on the badge requirements. The museum in itself is very nice and well done. The Four Seasons room is impressive... The acoustics are cool to check out.

Yelp
We weren't sure if it was open because it late in the season. We were glad that we could come in and check out the history about the Ojibwa people and their history. Our guide was very nice and informative about the four seasons. Sorry I drew a blank on the guides name. We enjoyed hearing about the history and all.

Yelp
Impressive museum! Highlight was a narrated history of the local Indian population through a life sized diorama of the Indians living through four seasons - the faces are actual face impressions of local tribesmen. Many other cool things to read and learn about. Impressed. $10 for adults. The trading post had a lot but the stuff was pretty pricey. Like a little local history and culture? Stop here and spend a couple of hours.

Yelp
This is listed as the best Indian museum in Minnesota in my Lonely Planet guidebook. I was a little perplexed by the rating given the size and scope of the place, however, what is amazing about it is that the people that live in the community where it is situated built it, work there, and served as models for many of the exhibits. It makes the best case for Indian gaming that I've ever seen, and really teaches you about the current life of the people. It is located right on a reservation, and the Trading Post has been in existence as an actual Indian trading post since the early 1900's. So, the living history aspect of the place is pretty amazing.
