Millers Fish & Chips

I'm gutted that I have to submit this review. Been using Miller's for the past 6 years and they rarely disappoint. However last weekends takeaway was a big let down. Chicken loaded chips was 2/3s the normal portion and the fish burger 1/3 the usual size (it's normally a full piece of fish) For the prices we pay the portion size should reflect this. Hopefully from this review they correct this as I really like the food and quick service.

Had to try the salt and pepper bag after seeing it advertised on social media. Wow, mega and such good value for money. Ordered and paid online which was easy but the collection time given was way off and took a lot longer for it to be ready. Defo be buying again

Great spot for fish&chip takeout. They also have a restaurant portion of the store in the back, lightly batter fish that's not oily and crispy. MushyPeas complimented the meal.

We booked a table here while staying nearby, based on a recommendation from some friends. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table straight away. The waitress was very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was very homely and relaxed even though the place was extremely busy. Our fish and chips were delicious. The service was extremely efficient and the staff were all working so hard to keep everything running smoothly. We would definitely recommend anyone to come here and we will be returning as soon as possible.

We had th emills chicken tenders. And it is without doubt the best I’ve ever had juicy tenders and crispy. I hate Gerkins some how made them taste good. The chips were crispy and soft and seasoned well. Home made purple coleslaw with hint of lemon was great. New business with some small ordering teething problems but asked where our food was ticket hadn’t gone through. Was quickly and efficiently solved within a few minutes and an apology beer. Food was more than worth earth will deffo be back

Mum & I have eaten in twice and the food has always been amazing. The service was excellent even though the restaurant had a large group in at the same time. The chicken loaded fries are amazing. Very clean and tidy, highly recommended 👌

We visited Millers at the Haxby location. May helped us with some recommendations at the Haxby location. She was very friendly and helpful and looked after us during our visit. In fact every time a member of staff, including the owner - David, walked by they always smiled and said hello. Such a friendly bunch here. You can tell they care about their customers. The food here is incredible! We wish we lived closer!!! We took Mays recommendation and had the fish and chip burrito and the chicken loaded chips. Oh my that Burrito!!! I was a bit hesitant slightly to try it. But Phil was like we are having that! I’m glad we did. We have never eaten anything like this before. It was sensational! The homemade tartar sauce with the crispy “scraps” (bits of deep fried fish batter) just made this. The fish was fresh and flaky and so good! A must try if you visit! The loaded chips were delicious too. In fact these were one of our first posts when we started this food account. So we couldn’t not have it again. A hint of spice and loaded with flavour and crispy chicken. These are great loaded chips!!

Flew all the way here from Singapore to reminisce the wonderful times mum, dad and I were last here in 2018! Sadly mum has passed on and only dad and I returned here. Was a little emotional during dinner because of the great time we had previously and brought back vivid memories of the time with mum. Really enjoyed ourselves with a jumbo Haddock fish and chips, with salt and vinegar! The batter is crispy and not oily. The tea for 2 with milk and sugar was lovely too! We also had an ice cream and this caramel honeycomb was a good dessert. They did a little renovation and the place still looks cozy and really comfortable too! The staff were so friendly from the ones at the cooking front counters at the take away to the staff serving us in the dine in area, and he even took time to speak with us. We truly love the service! Millers really held a good big part of my memory with mum and not sure if we can make it back here again in our lifetime, but we definitely hope everyone can come and support them!
