my husband is originally from Whitman, and brought me here for breakfast when we were in town visiting his mother.
we all have a "Millie's Lunch" in our lives. you know- the place you went as a youngster that will always live in your memory, as the best, the favorite, the iconic. for me, as an outsider, this was just your exactly average diner. we both ordered ham and cheese omelets with the addition of onions and peppers to make it a western. while our omelets, toast, and potatoes were quite tasty, the corned beef hash is definitely straight from a can and disappointing.
however, when you infuse a place with nostalgia and meaning from memory, it becomes much more than even the sum of its parts. service was friendly, and we overall had a good experience.
