Great evening for my partners birthday. The restaurant is tucked away behind a micro brewery courtyard in a quiet location. We passed a few tables that are available on the terrace as we were seated inside the dining room. This was decorated in a modern style, white walls and prints. Nice ambient music playing to create a calm mood. Service attentive, friendly and informative. Good wine selection for all tastes and budgets. Opened by sharing Lyme Bay Crab Croquettes, beautifully crunchy and tasty, We shared Fruits de Mar platter which had a good mix of hot and cold fish. It was imaginatively put together with a variety of textures and flavours. No room left for dessert! Thanks for a great evening Millside.

Fantastic lunch on a beautiful sunny day. Had the seafood platter and it was delicious! Great service and a perfect little spot near the old mill. Highly recommended

My boyfriend and I were holidaying in Lyme over the weekend, both from Birmingham, we have plenty of restaurants in the city… yet Millside is the best meal we have had so far in 2024! Such a beautiful setting and a intimate dining experience. Although a small menu for mains, the starters are varied. I tried the escargot which our waiter recommended - who knew snails tasted so good! My boyfriend had the half lobster and I tried rump steak, also for the first time. Both dishes were presented beautifully and provided explosions of flavour with each bite, I’ll be dreaming of this meal for weeks! Thank you for such a wonderful meal and such attentive service.

Superb. But you need more details than that. The welcome that is warm and puts you at ease. The short menu that still has something for everyone. And the food. My scallops with braised little gem starter has gone onto my desert island menu straight away. A perfectly cooked piece of cod with a crab bisque followed which was a delight. Go for the smashed roast potatoes to mop up the sauce! A great chocolate fondant to finish rounded the meal off perfectly.

Dropped by for dinner, where I ordered the scallops, mackerel and rhubarb clafoutis. Everything was beautifully prepared. Saying that, it must have been an off night, as the kitchen team seemed to have encountered a few challenges when prepping the meals. But, it all ended well as the service team handled everything professionally resulting in both a comped dessert AND an extra dessert. All done voluntarily without me even having to bring up any of the issues myself. The only thing I would suggest for the future is it might be worth investing in an air purifier or fan to help move the air in the restaurant. Because it was pouring rain outside at the time, I noticed the space was locking in various odours from other guests such as BO, perfume and cigarette smoke. As a result, I found that I couldn’t really smell the dishes. As a fine dining establishment, I suspect it is preferred that such smells not interfere with the dining experience carefully curated by your team.

This was by far the best meal I have ever eaten! I had the fish platter to share and it was unbelievable, so fresh and very well presented with lots of flavours! I also ordered mussels to start, and then extras with the main as I loved them so much! Me and my partner want to come back and try the lobster in the summer! Many thanks

Love the food, it was a special dinner for us. Loved the local beetroot starter, and beef cooked just right. We had a great night and were well looked after

I have dined at Millside on a handful of occasions, and it has always been excellent. Recently I had the pleasure of dining at Millside in celebration of my 50th birthday, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked through the door, the warm and friendly service made us feel instantly welcome. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our experience was perfect. The food was particularly outstanding. I’ve been fortunate to have eaten in some amazing restaurants over my (now many…) years, and I can honestly say that the Bream I ordered was the best fish dish I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious, truly showcased the chef’s talent - she is extremely good at what she does. The attention to detail in both the cuisine and the overall dining experience was impeccable. Millside is a true gem, nestled in the stunning and historic old mill area of Lyme Regis - I cannot recommend it highly enough. My guests who joined me are still raving about it! So, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an unforgettable meal, this is the place to go, you will love it.
