They brought out delicious Cornbread Muffins to get us started. We also ordered the Carolina Pork Roll as an appetizer. A great choice! For my meal, I chose the Texas Trio. They were very tasty. My wife tried a Salted Caramel Mudslide. She really liked it. We've eaten here before and will definitely go back.

Great place to eat. Food was delicious, friendly staff, great prices! Worth mentioning.... I found the woman's bathroom interesting. Usually you see not so pleasant graffiti on the walls/stalls. Instead I found some positive if not inspirational messages instead. I thought that was interesting enough to go back in and take pictures.

This past weekend, my wife and I headed to Hocking Hills for some well-deserved R&R. On the way to our cabin, we spotted a BBQ restaurant we remembered fondly from about five years ago. Naturally, we were excited to stop in for lunch and relive the experience. Unfortunately, time hasn’t been kind to this place. While we knew we were visiting during lunch hours and not dinner, we still expected the same quality of food — especially when it comes to barbecue. Instead, what we got was reheated meat that tasted dry and lacked the smoky, fresh flavor we remembered. Honestly, reheated meat just isn’t acceptable for a place that prides itself on BBQ. The corn muffins were overly sweet — more like dessert than a side — which didn’t help balance out the meal. On a positive note, the onion straws were delicious, perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. But sadly, they weren’t enough to justify another visit. It’s disappointing when a once-great spot misses the mark. Here’s hoping they can get back to the quality they once had.

WORD OF ADVICE: the open faced "dinner" is actually meant for toddlers (see pic). 5 of us went here for dinner tonight, everyone's plate was full of delicious looking food.....except for my plate, the open faced "dinner" AKA open faced appetizer. I half jokingly half seriously asked when the other half of my dinner was coming, only to be let down like a child in an empty candy store. On a funny note, I successfully kept everyone entertained at the table while we all made jokes about it and THEY all enjoyed their full plate meals. Good food.....well from what little I had, and good atmosphere but come on Millstone add a side to this meal or better yet.....make it a true open faced sandwich because as we all know a "closed" sandwich is 2 pieces of bread so why wouldn't an open one have.....well.......2 as well?????? Next time I'll eat before I show up.

Ate here while visiting! The bbq is very delicious! We started with Fried pickle spears and they were amazing! They have a slight kick to them! I had the pulled pork plate with beans and a salad and it was on point! My friend had the combo plate of smoked turkey and pulled pork and she very much enjoyed both! She asked for bacon bits for her baked potato and they brought her sizzling bacon bits freshly cooked! Yummo!

Google
Great service the food is good but needs a little more work brisket a little overcooked the chicken was good sausage also was lacking the turkey was good and the ribs were not great either .overall working on the recipes just a little bit would go a long way here.

Google
We took a road trip and saw a sign. Had the BBQ platter sampler and O M G!!!! I am still thinking about it 3days later. all, and I mean ALL the meat was on point perfect. Juicy, perfectly cooked, flavor was out of this world.

We had the boneless BBQ chicken wings and the smoked pull chicken. Both were delicious! The cornbread muffins were great too. The patio is dog friendly which worked great!

Yelp
Staying in the area from out of town to visit Hocking Hills, and Millstone BBQ really hit the spot! Walked in on a Thurs evening and were seated right away - the restaurant is a good size with plenty of tables and a bar. We were surprised with complimentary mini corn bread muffins that came with a sweet whipped butter and loved these! Came out toasty warm and so yummy! Much better than a typical bread basket. I got the Millstone Combo which came with a choice of 2 meats and 2 sides. I got pulled pork, brisket, cole slaw, and mac & cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed this. The meat actually comes out dry (ie smoked/cooked with a rub/marinade/seasoning but is not "wet" BBQ). On the side, they had their Sweet & Tangy and Spicy Hot BBQs to add. I think the meats themselves would've been a little dry without the sauces, but this way people can add what they want and the amount they want. Between the two sauces, I slightly preferred the Sweet & Tangy, but they're good mixed together as well! We also got the Fried Green Beans with ranch and these were good as well! Came out piping hot, with the beans green and the perfect texture (not floppy nor too firm). These were breaded and deep fried. For the most part, mostly the fried breading and ranch flavors come through, but no complaints as those are tasty flavors! Front staff that seated us and our waitress were friendly and professional. Reasonable prices. Overall nice experience for dinner in Logan!

Yelp
Had a delicious dinner at Millstone. Wait was 30 mins(not bad for a Fri night). Could have been shorter if we'd been quicker to grab a bar seat. I had the Pulled Pork, my wife had the brisket sliders. And the cornbread muffins are to die for. Emma, our server was excellent, and the food came out quick.

Gretchen T.

Yelp
I believe this is about the third time we've been to Millstone (not from the area), and there's definitely a reason we keep going back. Firstly, the mini muffins they give you before the main meal are absolutely delicious, and they give you more than you could ever eat! Then the menu has a lot of variety, and you can easily customize your sides. We had Brooke as our server, and she was phenomenal. We were kind of tucked in a back corner, but she never forgot about us. She kept us refilled on drinks and honestly answered any questions we had about the menu. She was able to provide great recommendations. The only reason for the four stars as opposed to five is the fact that one of our orders was incorrect. We chose not to send it back as the food took a bit to come out. Other than that, great experience!

Mae M.

Yelp
My husband and I can here for lunch. Great atmosphere, nice outdoor patio. I had the smoked Turkey Sandwhich and it was amazing. My husband had thenBrisket sandwhich, it was decent, a little chewy but not an overly smokey flavor which is good. He said he'd get the turkey sandwhich instead if we come back. Cornbread bites were super yummy and he had sweet potato fries also good. I had a side salad instead of fries which was good. You could tell it was assembled freshly. Overall 4/5 stars just cause his brisket sandwhich was slightly disappointing

Yelp
Visited the area over the weekend. This place came recommended and we love BBQ. 1. Cool place, friendly bartender! 2. Great BBQ sauce 3. Generous meat portions for main course - overall decent for the price 4. Prices have gone up and if you're using a debit card expect to be charged for this as a service fee. It's happening all over but still not a good feel with already increased food prices. 5. Staff was HUSTLING! Kudos to them! We arrived at 4:30 thinking we might beat the rush - this was not the case and that's fine we don't mind a wait. 6. No clean utensils or plates for use with the mini corn breads or appetizers - they are busy so clearly behind on the back. Fingers were made before forks so we made due. Patience is needed for sure. Our only disappointment was the burnt ends (see photo, taken as they arrived). 4 pieces for fairly dry meat for $14.49 is STEEP. I'd rather be told they were sold out than to pay $3.60 a piece for a very small mediocre appetizer. Overall, okay.

Heather P.

Yelp
Used to love the food here... Prices have DOUBLED and portions are kid size...... almost 15 bucks for their potato soup... 15 bucks for the one and a half pieces of brisket one a scope of mashed potatoes and a slice of bread... no sides added....... what a joke..... never going back! I'd add the picture of the 70%empty to go box... but this review won't allow me to...

Adam H.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I haven't reviewed this place yet... When I lived in the area and visited Hocking Holls frequently, this place was a must. There's been a few times I had to skip because they couldn't give an estimated wait time, and there's a good reason for that. The food is outstanding. My go tos when stopping in were the Three Little Pigs, different smoked meat sandwiches (depending on my mood), or the delmonico steak (I think this is no longer on the menu). The food and service were always consistently good. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area.

Jacob R.

Yelp
Went here after a hiking in Hocking Hills. The fresh corn bread and butter to start was delicious. The fried pickles were average, but the spicy ranch was very good. The pulled chicken was over seasoned and the Mac n cheese wasn't good. The mashed potatoes were ok. The smoked turkey was the best part. Our waitress was super friendly and professional.

Debbie O.

Yelp
I have never seen so many employees standing around doing nothing. Why would 5 people standing at the front desk reception hostess area?If you have time to lean you are able to clean tables, bathrooms, floors, windows etc. Lack of team work.Know ones if the food is good or bad because of the wait. The food was ok . I feel sorry for the owner & manager.Good luck. Not coming back.

Marianne G.

Yelp
We went on a very busy Saturday night. We were told there was about a 40 minute wait. We were here from Cincinnati for a weekend getaway for my birthday and anniversary. We stayed and waited, gave our cell # so we could be notified. They have a great system that updates and lets you know how many parties are still ahead of you. Service was excellent, food wasn't bad. It was our first time here and server was very helpful helping us choose what to order. I would go again.

Amy S.

Yelp
The food here is Amazing! Staff was wonderful! Best BBQ ever! We come here every time we come down here! This restaurant is a must try

Melissa S.

Yelp
Best Bbqed ribs I ever ate they were perfect. Love the cornbread muffins. Staff was very friendly. We had the sampler platers so we could try the different bbqed meats.

Gary W.

Yelp
I've been to Millstone several times but this was the first time I ordered a hamburger. It was perfectly cooked to order and very tasty. Not sure how many burgers they do in a bbq joint but it was delicious. Service was good as usual.

Teresa K.

Yelp
This was a return trip for us. Two years ago we did take out, last night our party of 10 dined in. We had a short wait to be seated and enjoyed the porch outside while we waited. Jasmine was our server and she hustles and was great about checking back. The food was great to excellent! The smoked meats all 5 stars. I had the two meat plate with brisket and smoked chicken - 5 stars from me. Hubby had the smoked Turkey and said it was really good. Our friends raves about the Mac and Cheese with pulled pork and cracker toppings - one friend got the potato skins with pulled Pork for his dinner and ranked it a 5. We found the price really reasonable for such a tasty meal! We may have wrangled for the last tasty cornbread muffin. Like my review two years ago - if we're in the area again we for sure will come back!

Jack P.

Yelp
Was here in May 2022. Solid BBQ joint and were super busy when we were there, but service was prompt and reliable. Food was solid, but average for BBQ. Nothing that made me go, "I NEED to come here again." I will say, the one thing we were looking forward to ordering were the burnt ends which were sold out by the time we ordered. That may have changed the review and could be a positive sign for that dish ... all in all, we enjoyed our evening!

Michaela S.

Yelp
Fried green beans and macaroni bake were the stars of the show! Pro-tip: Add bbq sauce to the mac and cheese, and it takes it to the next level!!! We got there on a busy saturday night and were seated quickly. They even text you a link to check your place in line, which was very handy. They had a plethora of drink options, and our server was super nice! The next time you want an amazing mac and cheese, stop in here!

Todd G.

Yelp
Tasty food, good portions and friendly staff. We were just visiting, but it seemed like a cross between visitors and locals. Well worth a visit if you're looking for a quality meal. Recommend the beef brisket, baked beans and even fried green beans (a first for me).

Mindy N Justin S.

Yelp
Food! We are from Texas and have eaten BBQ all over the U.S. including Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and Kansas. This is not southern BBQ. The portions are extremely small. The potato salad is drenched in Mayo, the green beans are extremely bland even with brisket and onions in it and the sweet potato was burnt! The price is way too high.

Ebenezer B.

Yelp
Went on a cabin trip near hocking hills and decided to get some food the next day. Stumbled across a family favorite restaurant Milestone BBQ. As appetizer's they gave out complementary cornbread, which was just heaven sent honestly, it was so great. I ordered the full rack of KC baby back ribs and let me tell you they were "bussin" as the kids would say. The beans were no slouch either. Overall the service and atmosphere were great. Our waiter even gave us extra cornbread to take home since it was my birthday. 9.1/10!

Amy T.

Yelp
Everything was great! From the service to the food. Some of the best ribs I've had and my husband enjoyed his brisket and pulled pork. We had our dog and they are pet friendly. The waitress even brought him a bowl of water. Highly recommend!

Wendi W.

Yelp
Drove 45 to eat here. Was put on wait list and told hour and a half wait. I got the message table was ready in 45 minutes so went to check in. Took me 15 min to get there and was told they told me they took me off the list and was told had to be put back on waiting list. Lady at counter was so rude. I will never go back! Thanks for making my birthday day special!

Lee S.

Yelp
Outstanding -our go to place Perfection Need to try In the middle of Nelsonville - Rocky Botts

Yelp
CORN MUFFINS TO DIE FOR! If you're looking for a BBQ spot to fuel your next hocking hills hike, or a family dinner spot in the area, this is the place to be! Their BBQ options have something for everyone and every item I've tried has been tasty, filling, and served quickly. I appreciate that there are big appetizers for the table to share, and everyone gets 2 corn muffins to start off. I could eat those corn muffins every day of my life and be a happy camper! The decor is very homey and the space is big enough that my family of 12 had no issues finding seating. The bar is big and had great options, my mother in law had the spiked hot chocolate and it was deliiiicious. Overall can't wait to be back again the next time I'm in town!

Chris R.

Yelp
We have always loved stopping at The Millstone when we're at Hocking Hills for years. What happened to you Millstone? I ordered a coffee. Had to wait for it and remind the young waitress about it. Would have been completely forgotten. I did finally end up getting one cup halfway through dinner. No refills. My steak was satisfactory but my wife who ordered hers medium well ended up with a medium rare. Big mistake! She sent it back and it came back medium rare. She didn't even end up eating it and they were kind enough to credit her-$17 dollars. This was not in any way a pleasant or satisfying experience. We will most likely never visit again.

Tina S.

Yelp
Brisket dinner with baked beans and potato salad. Brisket is amazing and the sides are good too.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Meals begin with mini corn muffins. I ordered the smoked Turkey dinner with a baked potato and steamed broccoli and that was good. My husband got the pulled chicken alfredo and a side salad and his meal was delicious. The service was a bit slow but the food was worth going for.

Mike B.

Yelp
The service was great, and we didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes on a Friday night. The meat sampler was so smoky and tender. We got the Carolina rolls for an appetizer, which is like a pulled pork egg roll. Delicious all the way around. We will definitely come back. Everything was amazing, I don't know how other reviewers have bad experiences. Must eat here!

Brady M.

Yelp
The price was a bit expensive but the food made up for it the Mac and cheese was cheesy and the brisket was perfectly cooked our sever was very nice and had a funny shirt. Overall great experience

Dustin H.

Yelp
Seeing that Hocking Hills is a bit "in the middle of nowhere" by design, one might not expect reasonably good food to be found. But for what it is, the food is actually pretty decent at Millstone BBQ. My interaction with the staff when picking up my to-go made it clear they weren't aiming for tips, and the packaging of my food fresh from the kitchen was terrible, with everything arriving stone-cold in my motel room 5 minutes later. That said, it was delicious and the portions were huge.

Steve S.

Yelp
Meh. Service and drinks were great as were the appetizers but $25 for a 10 ounce fat ridden ribeye....overpriced.

Roma U.

Yelp
Got the meat sampler to be shared by 2 people. The portion is huge and we had leftovers. I think it can even be shared by 3 people. It came with beans and we got sweet potato fries as our side. The meat sampler were well flavored, tender, and juicy. I typically don't lime smoked turkey but even that was juicy. Supposedly their meats are smoked for 16 hours straight. I thought the barbecue itself was good. Also ordered firestone spicy drink (can't remember the exact name of the cocktail). It looks small but oh boy is it strong. It can easily mess you up. It wasn't really jalapeño spicy but i thought it was a good flavorful drink - great for sipping. 4 stars as the sweet potato fries were kind of stale, cold yet overcooked. It tasted as if they cooked too much sweet potato fries and we got the smaller pieces bunched up together. Overall, still a good restaurant though.

Ryan B.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch when I was in town for work. I was worried after discovering that the little cornbread muffins my server brought, while warm, were hard and dry. But my salad was much better. It was clearly prepared without much attention to detail (e.g., huge chunks of iceberg lettuce), but it tasted fresh and was piled high with yummy pulled chicken. I'd definitely give them another try if ever in the area again.

Mary D.

Yelp
Arrived at 5 pm tried the sampler plate with beans and Mac n cheese. Beans were tasty but not special. Mac was commercial like taste over cooked , and mushy very yellow. Now the meat ribs were very good baby backs. Briskets, pulled pork , and chicken was very died out for so early in the night. Turkey was just ok Don't think sausage was homemade nothing special. Won't come again

Janice W.

Yelp
My husband and I went there for dinner and I wish I could give the restaurant a better review. Our service was very good and very quick but the pulled pork and the ribs were just not good. They had very little flavor and my husband said he thought the ribs tasted like they were from the day before. The prices are not bad, but I would rather pay a little bit more and have better quality food. We will not go back.

Matthew D.

Yelp
BBQ was good - forgot to give us two sides for our carry out and gave us an additional wrong side that we didn't order.... Impressive considered we only ordered food for two people. Would probably explore other options in the area before coming back.

Corey A.

Yelp
So it had been a few years since I last visited this establishment. The main reason is I had really no reason to drive out that way, however that changed. A buddy and I were looking at motorcycles and drove by here on the way down to one of the shops. I told himabout the last time I was there and the amazing cornbred muffins. So after bragging about how good the muffins are, we stopped on the way back. Still just as good as ever. With restrictions, the wait was extremely long, however we lucked out due to a set of seats opened at the bar. Food was good, muffins were great, and drinks cold and delicious.

Tracy B.

Yelp
We often visit Hocking Hills and eating here is a must. Delicious BBQ and sides. Great service. And all at a reasonable price. You have to try the burnt end app - to die for!

Amanda G.

Yelp
Food was really good. We got the meat platter and it was a nice little portion of 5 or 6 meats. Wasn't very busy but we were there around 4. Server was great.

Nicole H.

Yelp
When our party arrived we had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which no big deal because it was a large party, but when we told the hostess how many she rolled her eyes at us like it was an inconvenience, even though they were quite dead in there. And then while waiting, the same hostess starts talking to one of her coworkers telling a story that we all could hear about how a man asked if they could have a small extra table added because they were all crowded at a small table and she proceeded to say "how many seats are at your table" which the man replied 7. And she said well there's 7 seats there's no reason for another table to be added. I find this pretty distasteful because not only was it NOT busy, he was a paying customer, and while the customer is not always right, I don't find the harm in giving the large party a little extra space. When our party was seated, everything went well with the service from there. My husband and I ordered steak, me a sirloin, him a ribeye. I asked for mine medium well, and it was barely medium rare. My husband's ribeye was the thickness of a dvd case, and that's being generous and had more fat than actual meat on it. Definitely not worth the $80 we spent to eat there. My family has been coming to hocking hills for years now, and they have always chosen to go here. I think I will be skipping out next time, however, because I have been continuously disappointed in this restaurant.

Mars N.

Yelp
Silver lining...staff are friendly? I had to ask the hostess if I should follow her. Thought that was weird that I had to ask, then when I was leaving the mom of a family that was being sat ask the same question out loud..."should we follow you?" lol On to the review, I travel extensively & I'll try anything once. Once. I got a beer, mac & cheese with brisket & a side caesar salad. Best thing was the beer! The mac & cheese was more cheese than mac. It looked like a cat just took a pawful of brisket & threw it on the bowl. The caesar was limp with a lot of rotten romaine ends and way too much parmesan. The dressing was more poppyseed than actual caesar dressing. The muffins were good too. Anyway..."Fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again."

Greg P.

Yelp
We sat down at the bar about 5 mins before 6pm. We weren't acknowledged until 6:10, with 3-4 girls behind the bar. The overall attentiveness and attitudes of everyone behind the bar came off as, we were a bother. The food for the most part was just okay, I had the worst fries I have ever tasted and the corn muffins were beyond overcooked. After getting through 2 out of 3 of my sliders, one of the bartenders finally asks how the food is. Overall experience was beyond lacking, the attitudes of the staff and (again) mundane food, I will not be giving Millstone another chance.

Skull C.

Yelp
1st time there. I got fried pickles for an ap and the combo for lunch. Pulled pork and brisket. Mac n cheese for the side. My amazing wife got potato skins and the meatloaf. Mac n cheese. The pulled pork was old and nearly as dry as chalk. Horrible. The brisket was pot roast, but not bad with some sauce. Fried pickles and beans were ok. The mac n cheese was the star of my plate. My wife said the meatloaf was over sauced, so it was hard to taste the meat. She loved the potato skins and mashed potatoes. The cornbread muffins were wonderful!! The service was pretty good. I can't remember our server's name, but he is a big guy with a hat and slight beard. Friendly and prompt. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a place named Millstone BBQ. Those 2 things is what kept my review above a 1. It is supposed to be a bbq joint. The pulled pork was amazingly bad. If an oyster joint had oysters as bad, people would die.

Tanner C.

Yelp
Wouldn't even consider it a BBQ place. Always out of things and always served cold. Total waste of money and time.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I have gone several times each time giving it another whirl after moving there to the area. I have been so disappointed in each and every time not feeling well after eating, etc. This last time I went, I ordered the fish and chips which came up relatively quick. I cut into the piece of fish, and after what I saw proceeded to cut into the rest and each piece was completely raw. I showed it to the bartender who showed it to another gentleman behind the bar who just shook his head and said if you can't fry fish then what can you do? The bartender took the fish, did not ask if I wanted anything else not that I have would have; they did however, take the charge off of my bill. Unfortunately, I will not be back and I'm sorry to say that given that it's so close to where I live.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Have gone there twice. Both times I got the combo platter. Both times the meat had no flavor and the sides came out cold . They offered to reheat them but if I want food heated in a microwave I can do that at home.

Emily W.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30pm, didn't get sat until 7:35pm. We put in an appetizer and drinks at that time, didn't receive our 5 fried pickle spears until 8:40 pm and then the waitress tells us she can just now put in our food order and that they don't have the steaks we ordered so we have to order a different steak. We did not get our entrees until 9:10PM, WE WERE THERE FOR 3 HOURS, that was insane. The food was okay, I asked for steak sauce to come out with the steak after waiting over 2 hours for food, the food comes out, no waitress in sight, waited another 10 mins for sauce. I will never be back.

Toni C.

Yelp
I've been going to Millstone since they first opened but unfortunately tonight will be the last time I will be there unless they change their credit card policy. I will not patronize a business that passes along a cost of doing business blatantly to customers. Charging a surcharge to use a credit card is just bad business all around. I was there tonight and had no idea that there was going to be a surcharge -- nope not on the menu, not posted anywhere -- and had no cash with me so basically I was charged a fee to eat there. We found out when the server (who was wonderful) told us when she handed us the bill. Apparently it was just started recently. I am a business owner myself and would never charge my customers for a cost of doing business. Credit card fees have always been a cost of doing business. It's something we've absorbed and included in our pricing, like electricity, heat, bags, etc. Those costs are built into the item prices. All forms of payment have costs associated with them including cash -- balancing registers, making deposits, theft. You have to pay employees or take the time yourself to do these tasks...costs of doing business. What's next, a charge for to go boxes? With the way prices have gone up in the past few years, just raise your prices 3% and be done with it. That would mean the price of $20 meal would be $20.60. Hey, raise it a buck and no one would even notice. It would taken as inflation. A survey commissioned by American Express in 2021 showed 78% of consumers agree that a surcharge makes them feel like a business does not appreciate their purchase. A similarly strong majority (77%) agreed if they have the option, they'll take their business elsewhere rather than pay a surcharge. The surcharge just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. So, Millstone, until you change your policy we will not be eating there. I'm very sorry.....

Casey G.

Yelp
Outstanding service from our waitress! We were in town visiting hocking hills and came here for dinner. The complimentary cornbread and honey butter were fantastic. We started off either the pork potato skins- the pork was extremely dry and they came with no sauce on them. I ordered the trio -2 mini brisket sandwiches and 1 mini pork sandwich. All the meat was dry. My husband had the ribs and pork platter and said the ribs were mediocre and also dry. The pit baked beans were really good. I feel as if a bbq place should have great meat. I'm unsure if we would return.

Valerie H.

Yelp
Loved the smoked pork and house sauce was sweet and not spicy. Drinks were good. Service could be better.
