Your Favorite Cheese Can Determine Your Travel Future - AFAR

"A historic well in Peeblesshire where people centuries ago tossed pieces of cheese as offerings to fairies to secure a bountiful harvest; lore held that a favorable fairy reception meant good crops, while an unfavorable one foretold failed harvests." - Kristin Vuković

Lovely little place. Camembert is the best I’ve ever tasted and they’re so friendly. Wine tasty and well priced. Would actively seek it out in Peebles

This place is simply the best. Came here first with my partner, then again with my partner and her mom, and finally ended up ordering a fantastic cake of cheese for my wedding which was stunning (and delicious!). The owners are so kind and helpful, and were especially wonderful in helping us coordinate the cake of cheese transport to the wedding and selecting the various cheeses. I will never not go here when I’m in Peebles!

A Lovely Cafe in a Quiet Corner of Peoples that offers exceptional coffee and delicious light snacks. The cafe stands out with its unique decor, delightful beverages, and delicious dishes. But even before that, it impresses with its service and the warm welcome you receive upon arrival. Thanks to the cafe owner, who treated us with great kindness.

Milne & Pickles provided a cake of cheese for our wedding. We had a great experience, going in for a cheese tasting to choose the different layers and meeting the friendly and highly knowledgeable staff, in the lovely little shop. They helped ensure that we chose tasty cheese, but also cheese that mostly fitted into a good cake shape. We were very happy with our cake of cheese and the feedback from guests at the wedding said that it was delicious. Very pleased with our experience and the cheese, strongly recommend.

Thanks so much for helping a couple of Canadians enjoy a takeaway box of charcuterie by the fire here in Scotland! Cheers! :)

Went in looking for some Scottish cheeses, really disappointing selection as they mostly stock other European cheeses. Ended up buying an Isle of Mull cheddar (bland, hardly any flavour, notes of rubber) and a sheep’s blend blue which highly acidic, no aged notes, different colour marbling and left us wonder if it was stored improperly. Ended up throwing both out. Shame as the shop has a nice vibe and would enjoy having a wine in there.
