Not quite ready to meet my manager and director for dinner at a restaurant nearby, I was early and stopped at Milo's for something to calm nerves and wind down after the workday. Friendly service at the bar where I was able to order a beer. In the back room next to the golf arcade game, it was quiet. No baseball game going on today so the place was a low level of rowdy as opposed to the usual. This is a nice, neighborhood bar in The Hill. Be careful with parking to not block a fire hydrant or a driveway.

We really enjoyed the ambiance, food, and most important the staff working there. From Sue to Alex, to Michelle they all made our experience memorable. They were very welcoming, attentive and full of information. We learned a lot about the St Louis and tips on where to go. We felt like we were part of the family in the few short hours we were there. The pizza was amazing as well. Cooked perfect! We look forward to coming back and visiting Milo's again.

Love this spot. Awesome patio especially during the summer when they have bocce ball open. Great sandwiches, wings, and Italian dishes. Perfect to grab a beer or drink with friends. Have always had good luck with service too, feels like a local bar on the hill, proper!

Google
A popular casual eatery with great ambiance and a welcoming vibe. One of the great aspects is the bocce court -- a real Italian feel! And the patio with umbrellas is fantastic.

Stopped by before dinner at Mama's on the Hill. Service was terrible. Actually, it was non-existent. We sat outside next to the bocce ball courts and waited about 15 minutes before finally just going in and getting our drinks. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or just didn't care. We ended up spending just over an hour there and did not have anyone stop by until the very end when someone came by to collect our glasses as we were leaving.

We stopped in for a beer and a bite and we were very happy with our life choices! Chill vibe. Great service. Food was off the charts good. The pepper jack cheese bites alone are worth a stop.

Google
What a disappointment. Wife and I sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks and got a food menu, so far so good. Ordered 2 of the same pasta dishes. Pastas came out on Styrofoam plates with plastic utensils shoved in em. Is this a food truck or are we on The Hill.?. Pasta dish was underwhelming in flavor. Where was the garlic? Our tender came over to check on us and politely advised us they were going to shift change, so I told her I would close with her. Thank goodness I did cause the new shift tender had a more important clientel of friends at the bar that had all of her attention. Would maybe stop in for a beer but not a meal again. Way too many better options on The Hill.

Food was great. Atmosphere is special. Service was fantastic.

Yelp
Milo's is such a great place to grab a casual drink. We came here after we ate dinner at Sado and it was such good vibes. Staff is super kind and helpful, and it's so affordable! We sat at the bar and got a bucket of beers. Awesome spot to watch the game as well (Blues lost but you can't win em all). Solid patio for when it's warm out. Will always recommend Milo's!

Yelp
It smells like an open sewer. I don't know why, but we couldn't stand it so our party left.

Yelp
We held a family event today at Milo's and it couldn't have come off any better! Joe - you and your staff are fantastic! Checked off every detail and we had a great time. Look forward to scheduling our next event with you...thank you. We had a party of about 30 and were lucky enough to have Lexi helping us out. Folks - Lexi is a rockstar. I heard more compliments from my family about how she remembered everyone's order and their names. My entire family was impressed by Lexi's help throughout our event. The food was great! We had salad, ravs, chicken wings, and several types of pizza. Lexi checked with us to find out when we wanted food served and stayed attentive to what we ran low on. She is a great communicator so there were no surprises. And we played bocci, which the team had reserved for our party! Couldn't have been a better event. Great job by the Milo's team...true pros who made a special occasion more special!

Yelp
Literally the perfect spot to watch a game, stop in with a friend, or play a round of bocce. So excited to have found this spot at the beginning of summer and I've already come back! Service is quick and they're so friendly and will answer all your questions. They'll even run you down when you leave your credit card at the bar - oops! I love to order their signatures so I tried the Milo's Special and the Milo's House Brew. Both were delicious and the beer is light and crisp.

Yelp
Food, drinks, ambience are always outstanding. Best beef sandwich in stl! One of my favorite spots to go

Lizzy L.

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends to dine outdoors on their patio and play bocce ball. Parking was tough and I parked about 4 blocks away, but that's expected for a weekend night in the Hill. It ended up being freezing outside so we really wished there were heaters in the patio! The food was delicious; we ordered pizza, Italian sandwiches, toasted ravioli, and my favorite of the night, hot pepper cheese balls. The cheese balls were SO addicting, crispy, with some heat to it. Overall it's a great place for a casual hangout and it's convenient that the bocce court is right next to the patio tables.

Yelp
If you go to the Hill and don't go to Milo's, have you even gone to the Hill? Really excellent wings: get an order of the "trashed" wings. Terrible name, but they are great. fried, sauced, then fried again. You'll also find out, if you head out for a game of bocce, that you might have been playing it wrong. It's not alternating between the teams. Read the rules and make sure you're there before 6pm so you don't run into league play (they take over the courts when they arrive). Very friendly (and attractive) wait staff.

Paige C.

Yelp
The award for best patio should live at Milo's. In the heart of The Hill it has a wonderful "when you're here you're family" feel. Makes my love for the neighborhood so much stronger. Such a fun, laid back place to hangout and watch (or play) bocce ball. The wait staff are top notch pro's, this place is never not packed, but they don't miss a beat. There is not a bad sandwich on the menu, all are served on the most amazing, fresh chewy bread. I appreciate that they serve a bag of chips instead of fries, let the true star shine - bread.

Angela C.

Yelp
Milo's has a fun atmosphere with a nice outdoor seating area and bocce ball court. Food was simple but good and the service was quick and efficient. If you're looking for something more casual on the hill this is the place for you.

Ashley R.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out first time , entrance is through the patio only grab a table I have my service animal w me as I have a medical issue that I'd rather not disclose nor do I have to per HIPAA , someone came out and said no animals allowed I informed she is a licensed service animal then asked if I had her paper work / credentials which I had on hand the owner approached me wouldn't even look at my medical records / doctors note and I quote "unless you're blind" service animals are not allowed and asked my group and I to leave .. happy we took our money else where so unwelcoming and discriminating .. also maybe they should have a sign before entering saying no animals even service animal allowed instead of embarrassing their patrons

Yelp
I was skeptical or coming here if it would be to old and just ok bar food. But I was pleasantly surprised as it was elevated bar food which I would go back to again. Everything was served on paper plates and was real casual. Ambiance was nice though bocci tournament happening and great service. We saw that the wings were really good and they were we asked for regular extra crispy and they were hot but sooooo good! Also got salads and the artichoke chicken pizza. I usually don't like pizza but this one was so crispy and flavorful. I would def go back with another group of friends because it was an inviting fun place !

Yelp
The home made bread served with the antipasto plate was phenomenal! Need to serve on plates to improve the first impression but the food was great!

Yelp
Milo's is a great neighborhood bar with friendly service, delicious food and an excellent patio! I have been to Milo's so many times and they are consistently good all around especially with their service and food! There is a welcoming vibe as evidenced by the friendly staff that greet you as you enter! Milo's has a range of food items on their menu that include appetizers, wings, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and house specials. Everything I have tried has been delicious! I recently tried the pizza and yum! The Florentine pizza toppings had grilled chicken, artichokes, olive oil tomato and cheese. So good! First time here and not sure what to get? You MUST try their wings! Perfectly crispy and tender with so many dipping sauces! Not hungry, no problem! Hang out on the awesome patio and have some drinks and people watch or sit inside and watch a game! Plenty of seating on the inside and patio areas. And a lot of TVs if you are a sports fan! Check out Milo's for delicious food, great patio and friendly service! You won' be disappointed!

Savannah K.

Yelp
Milo's is a great place to sit on the patio and enjoy some libations with pals, maybe even play some bocce ball while you're at it. Their menu is pretty standard--both food and drink.

Rachel F.

Yelp
It was a bit loud, but the food was good. I had the pizza. I was glad that I could ask for only mozzarella cheese. I don't like the mix of cheese in St. Louis style pizza.

John K.

Yelp
First time at Milo's and I wasn't disappointed. I tried one of the lunch specials, chicken Parmesean and a side salad with their creamy garlic salad dressing. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The parmesean sauce was good but not anything special. The lettuce in the salad was fresh. I liked the string mozzarella cheese. It was light on shredded carrots and radicchios. I was surprised the meal was served on a disposable plate and utensils. It has the Hill vibe and ambiance which I enjoy. Parking can be challenging since they didn't have a lot. You get to test your parallel parking skills with street parking. They have a nice outside patio and two dirt bocce ball courts that are covered. I'm definitely coming back in early spring to try their chicken spiedini outside on their patio. Delizioso!

Yelp
really good food and service for the price and location. great spot for the younger crowd!

Yelp
Finished grocery shopping stopped in for a birra and a bar food app. Todd was a great bar man. Perfect cocktails for Mrs M. Cheese Fries were the perfect bar food. Well prepared. See you in the spring to play some bocce ball.

Shawn P.

Yelp
A standard bar with food. I had the trashed chicken wings which were good and the salad was ok. I would not say top notch but edible. The dips were meh but ok.

Yelp
Perfect place to gather on the Hill for simple, traditional Italian eats and plenty of good cheer! Tasty food, cold drinks, "local" feel, casual ambience, TV's, with friendly, attentive staff - shout out to Joe for great service! A bonus here, come play Bocce on their 2 outdoor (covered) courts and enjoy patio seating on nice days! A solid 4.5 rating in my book based on above; and reasonable meals ~$9-14pp with full bar options. If you're eating on the Hill, you've gotta have/try Toasted Raviolis (homemade meat raviolis served with marinara); a STL exclusive tradition, which are excellent at Milo's! Also shared Trashed Wings, crunchy outside and tender chicken cooked perfectly inside; you may ask for some extra hot sauce if you prefer them extra spicy but their Wings are superb. And their fried Green Beans are good for a veggie app. Definitely ask about their daily specials. Today we had Chicken Spiedini with house salad or choose a pasta OBG (oil, butter, garlic) or marinara. All are great sides with tender, flavorful chicken Spiedini, but I personally enjoyed their OBG. They also had a Florentine (Chicken, Spinach, Tomato, Cheese) Pizza (STL thin style) special, which was ordered to share in our group, yummy! Plenty of other options for Pasta, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizzas or Salads. Heard the Italian Roast Beef & Cheese with Au jus was supposed to be outstanding, so I may try that one next time. Bring family, friends and new Yelpers (welcome BC!) for your gathering. Milo's is a fun and happy place to experience! ENJOY!!!

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday evening after failing to make reservations somewhere else. This spot was first come, first serve for seating. There were a TONNNN of people because they have a bajillion tables outside, and outdoor games. We snagged a table inside and were actually helped pretty quickly, which was nice. Food is pretty good and seemed fresh. would put it on par with most of the Hill considering they're way more casual. Everything came on paper plates and felt very much like a backyard family meal. As someone who doesn't really eat out on the Hill, it was a good meal. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either.

Vajhuabhli X.

Yelp
Not bad for tavern food. Preparation was quick, service was great and friendly. Best food item was the fries. Sorry not pictured but i would definitely order it again. Ravioli was a disappointment in taste but had great texture. Mushrooms were a bit on the salty side for me. The red sauce that came with was a but bland and too watery for my liking. I would go back and try other items on the menu.

Eva J.

Yelp
Someone in our group said they wanted to try here so that's where we ended up. It was definitely very bar like and had a smell of mop water. The waitress was nice and since we wanted wings she recommended the trashed or the grilled. I got a mixture of both. The trashed was ok but I was wish wishing I had just got plain fried. The grilled were good and I would recommend those. I got a side of hot sauce which wasn't really spicy like they were making it seem. The fries were good, fresh and crisp. The price was half for happy hour so that was a bonus. The wings were the only food for happy hour. I wouldn't eat in again but if you're looking for take out, it's an option.

Ashley C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed eating at this spot. I came here with my father in law and husband, visiting from LA. My husband got the wings and loved them and I ended up getting their veggie sandwich. It is honestly sooo difficult to get a really solid veggie sandwich that actually has good veggies in them. It came out super hot, and was loaded with a ton of good veggies. Parking in the area can get super crazy, but we lucked out and got a super close spot on the street.

Matt W.

Yelp
Great place and even better waitresses and bar tenders. Foods good and beers cold...........

Brian G.

Yelp
Waited 20min before even getting acknowledged by a server. We ordered three pizzas and two salads. Two of the pizzas came out completely wrong, and one of the salads came out wrong. Our server took forever to refill even water, let alone other beverages. No apologies or even acknowledgment that they were slow and inaccurate. Beautiful patio, the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Michael M.

Yelp
Great local eating and drinking at Milos Tavern. Bocce Ball is great, and the vibe is even better. After a long day of swinging hammers and building walls, I can always count on Milos. They always have new specials which every day pushes me further and further away from my dream of being a swimsuit model. Will be back, probably tomorrow!

Paul A.

Yelp
Milo's is an excellent place to spend a pleasant St Louis evening. No better way to pass the time than by sitting by the bocce court, while enjoying some toasted ravioli and a cold beer. The service and the food are both excellent. Treat yourself.

80sHairNation ..

Yelp
Fantastic Chicken Parm and dinner salad, that was prepared just right. Server was friendly and courteous. A cold glass of a local beer to wash it down with, in a fun atmosphere of an old favorite on The Hill. We can't wait to go back...

Maria Z.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Tuesday night because we were staying in the neighborhood and needed food late. Their kitchen is open until 10. Lucky for me, the Tuesday special is lasagna. The presentation is not fancy, paper plates and cutlery, but the food! Lasagna like my Mama used to make. Brought tears to my eyes! I never thought I would eat all they gave me but I was wrong. I liked the casual neighborhood atmosphere. People just talking and enjoying each other. Nice.

Ray S.

Yelp
Best wings and the meatballs are fantastic. Best patio to hang out on a spring/summer Night.

Michelle K.

Yelp
We have been to this place a million times and it never ever lets me down. This was our first visit since COVID. Milo's is nailing it on COVID. They have the best social distancing measures in place that I've seen. Very well thought out! We always end up ordering the same great food at Milo's. I get the side house salad (light and refreshing at any time of year) and a hot roast beef sandwich. My fellow diners get: spaghetti with meatballs; toasted ravioli; roast beef sandwich. These dishes are all crowd pleasers. You can't go wrong. Service is that great neighborhood bar feel that you can't get anyplace else. The servers are always on point at Milo's! Thanks for another great meal!

Tobias G.

Yelp
Don't go here if you're not white. I've walked in multiple times with my girlfriend and another time with my half Asian nephew and everybody just stared and watched us. Racist place. Apparently these white folk have never seen black people before.

Claire S.

Yelp
Great patio! We day drank and played bocce ball. We had the wings, pizza, travs and more. Everything we had was good except for the cheese fries. Fun spot to enjoy the nicer weather.

Joan G.

Yelp
We had driven around the hill a few days ago and spotted Milo's Tavern so we decided that it would be the place to try for a family lunch. The only problem with the hill are the narrow streets and finding a parking spot. Milo's also has a great outdoor patio with umbrellas. Some of the tables are situated so that you can watch the bocce tournaments. Even though they were crowded, our service was great. We sat inside and we were served our drinks and were told about their special of the day. Fried cod or grilled grouper with Mac n cheese and slaw. Three grilled grouper, one fried cod and my husband got the Milo's special sandwich. I'm not sure what was on the sandwich, but it was bursting with meat. Big enough to take half home. My brother said his fried cod was great. The rest of us agreed that the grilled grouper was outstanding as were the side dishes we were served. Would I come back here? In a heartbeat. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Shar H.

Yelp
The food was delicious! Loved the Caesar salad and the cheese fries were so good. I was taken aback since it was sliced cheese on the fries but it's delicious. Trust me, you want the three cheese. And we ordered the Florentine pizza. It was so good! I loved it. Definitely going to be my staple pizza place.

Rich S.

Yelp
Neighborhood spot full of locals. Took last seat at the bar and enjoyed a cold beer and really good pizza. Better than most pizza places. Listening to the locals spin their tall tales helped pass the evening.

Phillip A.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and always found the place to be very pleasant. It's a laid back atmosphere where the drink prices are cheap and the food is good (highly recommend the Roast beef and cheese ). The customers are very friendly and talkative and there's a great patio outside and a bocce court as well for those who want to play or learn to play.

Christian P.

Yelp
Great place on the hill for casual bar experience. Attentive service is good as is the pizza!

Madison D.

Yelp
We were recommended to try Milo's . We recently relocated to the area and we're excited to try The restaurant. First we sat for 15 minutes before a waitress came to the table. We got water and tea then sat for twenty minutes and the waitress never came back. She was at the bar , talking on her cell phone , and texting . We understand sometimes restaurants are short staffed these days but this was disappointing. We Left , my husband couldn't get the gal to even acknowledge him when he went to the bar . My advice, AVOID Milo's. I'm not sure why this place has positive reviews .

Jill C.

Yelp
Lasagna was good, but the salad was literally a styrofoam plate of plain chopped iceberg lettuce, nothing else. We were practially the only customers inside, but the service was almost non-existent.

D H.

Yelp
The food, the checkered floor, the bocce ball courts, the bartenders...I could go on, but let's just say that Milo's gets everything right. The history of the bar, and of course, the neighborhood, is what really makes Milo's feel so damn comfortable. Of course, you should try the toasted ravioli and maybe even drink an AB beer (not my preference, but when in Rome, but Milo's has plenty of other drafts/bottles. Enter thru a door in the bar's corner, and you have the bar on your left and lower eating tables to the right. Past the bar/tables are some high top tables. Beyond that are the bocce courts. The bar is a simple wood with a laminate top and with a standard-sized wooden rail. The is a large box footrest in front of maybe 10-15 wooden stools with back support. The back bar contains mostly bottle shelves and TVs. Excellent service to boot.

Ron R.

Yelp
Was a great time at Milos! Sat outside , enjoyed the Italian Hill vibe, and good food. The toasted Raviolis were superb, the roast beef sandwich excellent, and my friends' club sandwich quite good. Walked over to the beautiful Imos Piazza afterwards. Whenever I visited the hill neighborhood, I like to visit Milos!

Traci E.

Yelp
Always fantastic! The staff, proprietors, food, drink options, other customers & all over ambiance make this a favorite! Super love that it feels safe as a woman to be in this establishment...double bonus that the ladies room is always clean!!!!

Steven B.

Yelp
I've found another "thrill" on "The Hill". We just blindly headed down to The Hill for lunch and an afternoon of exploring. As we were about to enter another eating establishment we saw Milo's and I quickly checked their star rating on Yelp. Having 4 stars we diverted from our original path and crossed the street to a new adventure. Being a beautiful autumn day we took advantage and enjoyed our lunch on their huge patio. Being a Monday at lunchtime, no one was playing bocce ball, but it was cool seeing their huge court for playing the sport. I want to come back sometime when the game is being played to see how and what all the excitement is about. Our lunch started off with Grilled Chicken Wings. They were an nice change from the traditional fried wings you find at most bar & grills. Milo's offers both and I highly recommend paying the extra 80¢ to enjoy them grilled. You'll have the same hot spicy flavor, with grill marks. I took advantage of the daily special which was a Fried Grouper Sandwich served with Sweet Potato Fries. It was a large thin piece of Grouper with a light breading and served on a toasted bun from Fazio's Bakery. These Sweet Potato Fries are head and shoulders above the quality you get a Pappy's. I appreciated their size, almost a small steak fry, not the normal shoestring or waffle that I normally find when ordering SP fries. The SO enjoyed the Milo's Special which is a huge sandwich, so big that half of it went home. It too to served on fresh bread from Fazio's and filled with Roast Beef, Ham, Salami, Provel, Onion, Pickle, Lettuce, Tomato and drizzled with Vinegar & Oil Dressing. You can have it served hot or cold and the SO went hot. They serve their "special" with a bag of chips, but the SO said we could take those home so I can have them in my next brown bag lunch for work and he ordered a regular order of fries. I will tell you, these were crispy delights. They were so good, I am considering creating a list for French Fries. The wait staff was attentive and fun. I know they can not control the breezes, but be aware smoking is allowed on the patio and smoke can be blown your way. The bag of chips I mentioned earlier, never made it to my brown bag lunch. They were enjoyed with the portion of the Milo's Special that went home with us.

Yelp
This place seems to be pretty cool. Can't believe I have never been here before. We were in the area and decided to stop in for a couple of beers and to watch a bit of the Blues hockey game. Loved the ambiance and definitely love the location. Service was great. Certainly plan on doing lunch or dinner and a full hockey game here soon.
