Google
The food is excellent! Cannot go wrong with their brats (had the German). Their sampler appetizer plater was enormous! Great place before games with a lively crowd and patio (even middle of the week!) and a shuttle that takes you to Brewers stadium.

Amelia katalina

Google
We sat out in the outdoor seating area. The food was good. The service was terrible. Our server was terribly annoyed that she had tables to take care of. That was unpleasant. The drinks were ok. The patio is nice but small. I didn't go inside so I cannot say how that was. I recommend this spot for good food and hope you get a better server than we did.

Roy Bailey

Google
Just get the Brats, don’t bother with the other stuff! We had the cheese curds too, both were very tasty! Beer menu was good too. On game day (Brewers) they have a free shuttle with the purchase of a drink. Not a big place, limited seating inside but plenty outside. Inside had a pub vibe with lots of wood. Our first visit and have no regrets!

Elaine Chen

Google
We got the brat house sample and the cheese curds. The cheese curds came in big portions, and it tastes amazing! The brat sample comes with four different kinds, we loved the cheese one and the other two that were not spicy. The spicy brat was a bit too spicy for our like. Service was good. The atmosphere is good and chill as well.

We came here for two Wisconsin staples on the first day of our trip into the state: cheese curds and brats. I ordered a Wisconsin Old Fashioned which I enjoy at home sometimes when I'm feeling a little extra trashy, and it felt like home. Just fine for $9. Husband ordered various beers including a $3 Schlitz, which the server called "an old man beer" 😆. He also had the German Brat which was just fine, with better than average sauerkraut. It was fun sitting outside and hearing all the languages from various tables, and people watching in the nice weather. Trivia night is Wednesday at 7:30, so it was a bit loud.

Todd Miller

Google
Service was "ok"... It was really crowded after the Sunday (7/27) game. Food was really good. Brat platter was a nice selection. Philli Cheese steak was very bready and needed peppers and cheese sauce. Cheese curds were more breading than cheese. All in all pretty good.

Dan Pieloch

Google
Cool spot downtown with outdoor seating. Service and food were great. Schlitz on tap is currently unavailable. But we had cheese curds and PBR draft, and they were perfect.

Benjamin Khachaturian

Google
Don’t miss the pretzel here! 🥨 Absolute Milwaukee classic. Great prices and friendly staff. Nice that they have some outdoor seating in back also. Been here a lot through the years and just keep coming back. 😁

Yelp
Good time at Milwaukee Brat House. Ordered their "Reuben Brat" which was their corned beef sausage which came loaded with sauerkraut, swiss, and thousand island. Served on a pretzel roll. Great twist on a classic bratwurst. Beer was cold. Service was good.

Yelp
Brat House was our first food stop on our weekend in Milwaukee. I had their Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap, it was pretty tasty. The ratios were nice and getting chicken crispy gave a nice crunch. The energy was very lively but a little chaotic too. If you're someone with sensitivity to noise, this is not a place for you. It's a nice place to pregame for going out. The open windows allow you vibe with the what's happening around you. The service was not the best. It was like the servers were surprised that they were at work and were expected to do their job. I honestly hate when that happens. It's one thing to have a bad day at work, but it's a completely different thing to become irritated when you're expected to be your job. Literally every time someone from our table asked the waiter for something. She rolled her eyes and made it seem like it was the biggest inconvenience she's ever experienced. By the end of our time at the restaurant, there were people at our table who were afraid to ask her for anything. That's unacceptable. The servers also seemed very unprepared for how crowded it was, but it was the spring fest weekend so hopefully that had something to do with it.

Yelp
This is an excellent place to stop for food and drinks with a group. If you are planning on eating, you will probably find it more comfortable in their outdoor covered patio area. Inside, it is mostly all bar seating, with some gaming. We asked the bartender and he said we could just have a seat outside and someone would help us, which happened quickly. Staff and service were fast and friendly. Now, on to the food! At first glance, the pricing for apps seems high, but the portions are very large! Loaded tots were very good, enough for 5-6 to share, and I'm not talking just skinny people. Cheese curds were good, although I have had better in Wisconsin. But the giant Bavarian pretzel...WOW! Don't skip this. I know it's expensive, trust me, it's bigger than you can possibly imagine and the most unforgettable part of the whole meal. Served with 3 dipping options that were all delicious and plentiful. Also tried a burger which was above expectations. All in all, this is a wonderful spot to visit with groups!

Yelp
Eleven and a half years later, I've been back and it's still very good. This time we got the Wisconsin burger and a rueben bratwurst. The bratwurst was really good; I might get that for myself if I visit again. It's too bad they don't still offer their burger with the bratwurst on top, since that's a more uncommon burger than you tend to see. When I came in it was loud and obnoxious and the bartender overlooked me to first wait on someone else, which was not cool. I wouldn't want to eat here when it's loud and rowdy, unless I was eating outside since they had ten or so tables on the sidewalk. There's no dedicated parking at this location, just street parking around the area if you can find it. A few blocks down there are a couple of parking lots though I'm not sure if the cost of parking would be justified by eating here.
google avatar

Kami T.

Yelp
Portions are generous, especially with the cheese curds. The brat was well cooked, but had more onions than I prefer. Good location and is walking distance to Fiserv Forum. Lighting is a little dark, so it might be hard to see the menu. Service is ok, nothing wrong with it but nothing memorable.
google avatar

Vijay R.

Yelp
The photo in this review is called smaller but it is actually normal size of 4 different kinds. It's a lot of food but really tasty. The service is great and you can down this with a great German draft
google avatar

Gary G.

Yelp
Like the menu says, definitely the largest pretzel you've ever seen! If you are like us and order the pretzel and cheese curds, a word of caution, you won't have any room for the brat (so plan wisely)! Stopped here before the Brewer game. Food was delicious, and the service was impeccable! I had the southwest brat and my date had the cheddar jalapeno brat. Both were delicious. Other fun fact: the largest pretzel was served with appropriate sized sides of beer cheese soup, cheese, and cinnamon dips. A must try!!!

Yelp
Running around & saw this place. Brats caught the eye of my buddy, so off we went. Lots of choices I had the Miltown, I believe it was called, which was really good. Beers come in half pints, so when she sets them down, dont suddenly think the bartender likes you more than your neighbor. Nice place, definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
Downstairs is for casual dining, upstairs is for the bar. If you can't find seating downstairs, prepare for loud music and crowds upstairs. We came here because we had heard that they had really good cheese curds. They were average, based on the few variations our party had tried. Service took really long. One of our burgers was missing from our initial order and it took another 30 minutes for it to come out. By that time we had all finished. If you like the pub and bar vibes and want to try cheese curds, Milwaukee Brat House gets the job done but it's not exceptional.
google avatar

Caes F.

Yelp
Fried Cheese Curds are not bad. I am trying to watch my figure so that is all I ordered. This is a bar for sport watching.
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
Came here after attending a concert in the area for post-drinks and snacks. It was incredibly busy on a Saturday night and we had quite the problem snagging a spot, let alone having someone take our order. But given how packed it was, I don't know if I can necessarily fault the wait staff. There were a variety of beers and other drinks for non-beer drinkers. It's definitely a sports bar vibe and could be quite the experience on game day! Sorry, still a Chicago sports fan through and through. Even while traveling :) We weren't super hungry, so we decided on the Combination Basket for a wide variety of snacking. There was a good balance of everything: chicken tenders, onion rings, French fries, and the star of the show- the cheese curds. I wish I could have ordered a side of them to go! It took quite a while to get our food, but when we did get our food it was very warm. Milwaukee Brat House is in a great location downtown that's walking distance from The Fiserv Form (where our concert was) and other main Milwaukee attractions. Definitely a great experience while visiting here!

Yelp
While visiting Milwaukee, I kept hearing great things about this bar and grill, especially their famous fried cheese curds, so I decided to stop in one afternoon to see what all the buzz was about. I wasn't disappointed! I called ahead and ordered two orders of cheese curds for pick up. The ordering went smooth, and my order was ready in about 15 minutes. When I arrived, the bar was lively for 1 p.m., with plenty of patrons at the bar and high top tables. The lighting inside was dim, creating a cozy atmosphere, and there was some music playing in the background. Based on the location and the good reviews, I had high expectations, and they delivered! The portions were generous, and the curds were hot, fresh, perfectly crispy on the outside, and deliciously gooey on the inside. I only wish I had more time to sit down, enjoy the vibe, and pair those amazing curds with a cold beer. Hopefully next time!

Yelp
This place is an easy go to before an easy place to grab a bite. We had a burger and pretzels. I go just for the pretzels. It's my fav. The location is great close to lots. The food is good and prices are reasonable. Service is ok they always seem busy so I get it. It was fast there is no problem if you need quick service before an event. Definitely worth the wait did not like the cinnamon for the pretzel. But that would have made a great dessert. Sub Aout the cheese for the cinnamon yum
google avatar

Yelp
Great german and milwaukee food! Really enjoyed the appetizers and they weren't lying about the jumbo pretzels. It really was JUMBO! It came in a pizza box takeaway and took up half the table space! The restaurant itself is a little too dark for my liking, but overall, nicely decorated and pub-like!

Yelp
This place is fire! All the games on the TV and the food was excellent. Staff is friendly and the Schlitz beer is $1.50. Had a great time here after the Brewers game.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
What a great find! I'd you want a great tasting brat, look no further! I got the honey I'm home brat and it was so flavorful! Honey mustard stuffed brat with onions, bacon, and cheese on a pretzel bun! Let me tell you YUMMY!! This place was packed on a Saturday afternoon, people know what's up! Nice selection of beer and actually quite inexpensive! Will be back!

Yelp
Stopped by the Brat House on a Saturday evening after a show with friends this past fall. It was lovely out, so we sat outside. We received prompt service from our server, who was friendly and helpful with descriptions about the tap beers and the variety of menu items. There was a good selection of craft beers on tap, and more choices in can. The brat app sampler is my husband's favorite, and our friend love the wings. I had a burger with onion rings and everything was so good. Looking forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
Always stop at the Brat House when we're in town, and this stop did not disappoint. Southsider brat is a little bit of everything; pretzel bun, juicy brat, spicy jalapenos, and of course cheese!
google avatar

KC L.

Yelp
Terrific bar in historic 3rd Milwaukee. Hubby had a sausage sampler. 4 different sausages on a bed of sautéed peppers and onions. Awesome. I had the beer cheese soup and an order of wings. Very delicious. We both had a draft German heffeweisen beer. Service was great and friendly. Good to note they run a free shuttle to the games with food purchases.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Overdue update! (my apologies Nikki) After posting my review, Nikki MBH sent an email to apologize & also generously offer to send a gift card to me. I thanked her & accepted. To my shock & delight Nikki sent a card to be able to invite my 2 co-workers along to experience it too. Thanks again Nikki!! We will be back! Love your cheese curds & beer cheese soup!

Yelp
Very unique place in Milwaukee! Located very close to the sporting venues (Admirals, Bucks) and a great place to catch the game. They have a great variety of beer with bars located on two floors with plenty of dining area and seating. The service was great and very friendly. The bartenders are very knowledge and will play drinking games with you to if you're a regular. All of their brats are served on pretzel buns: their menu also includes burgers and plenty of other menu items. I topped mine with pablano peppers and sautéed onions and went with their homemade baked beans (highly recommend). The burgers also looked really good along with some tater tots, which is what I would probably get if I went back. Check this place out if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Tina N.

Yelp
The service was ok. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and fries which were good. Disappointed because I came there to have the beer cheese soup and they were out. I had the bubbler to drink and it was ok. It was loud and crowded and I was eating alone so I did not have a lot of attention paid to me.
google avatar

Alton O.

Yelp
IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, AVOID THIS PLACE! Informed the server I have a gluten allergy and asked for a grilled chicken Caesar salad without croutons. The salad came out with croutons. I know it wasn't the server's error as I saw her write it down. I sent the salad back and informed them of the error and reminded of the allergy. The salad was brought back out and appeared to be corrected, but as I was eating it I discovered there were still croutons in it. Rather than taking my allergy seriously they picked out the croutons that were visible and sent it back out. This is absolutely unacceptable. Safety for diners to eat and have food allergies protected is huge.

Yelp
Great server, comfortable booth, and excellent brats! We loved the German, Honey I'm home, and a spicy Wisconsin burger with tots and Parmesan fries. Cocktails were phenomenal, too! We were smitten with the stained glass fixtures.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
5 star service and five star cheese curds! Visited with a vegan friend and was very pleased that they had vegan options and you could customize a lot of options. The cheese curds were beyond amazing, I guess I should have expected it with it being Milwaukee and everything! I'm not the biggest fan of brats so I stayed pretty neutral on that front. Everyone else in the group really loved theirs though. Overall: I'd come back just for the cheese curds

Samantha B.

Yelp
We waited for over 30 minutes for a sever after being told to sit anywhere. Drinks were flat and lacked flavor. When we kindly asked the bar if there was a sever for our table we were met with rude looks and attitude. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Alesa W.

Yelp
We came in on a Friday night and were able to be seated immediately. The service was attentive, and the music was just the right volume to enjoy but still talk and be heard. The Mediterranean salad was a great portion and pretty tasty, and the pretzel and cheese curds were also great. The brat we ordered was fine but it was actually the least impressive thing despite the name of the restaurant. Overall though we thought it was a great spot with generous portions and tasty food. Would recommend!
google avatar

Jewel R.

Yelp
The food taste amazing! I've tried the sampler of the sausages and my favorite is the bratswurst! The waiters are friendly and provide great service! I also love the german esthetics!
google avatar

Aracely M.

Yelp
I wish there were more places like Milwaukee Brat House! My boyfriend and I came to Milwaukee for a concert and we traveled from Chicago. We decided to go to this place on a whim and it was amazing! They have lots of places to sit and chat and their menu is huge. It's so hard to find a dive bar with lots of seating, decent bathrooms, affordable prices, and tasty food! I am secretly jealous of Milwaukee and am hoping that Chicago can get Brat House...
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
Woah so much good food and much needed after a day pub crawling! The pretzel was nice and hot and the cheese was really good with a sweeter honey mustard and I personally loved the cinnamon dessert dip! The cheese curds were decent - the fries were really good. I haven't had chicken tenders in a while and these were really good! The bar was very busy since it was a street wide pub crawl but we had great service, made eye contact with the bartender and she shared the menu and we quickly made a group order and everything was brought to our table in speedy time.

Robert M.

Yelp
Nice little German place for lunch or a pint. Our waitress Kate was friendly and informative. OBGH Brat was tasty, as was the Reuben. Kraut and German potato salad were good too! Prices reasonable.
google avatar

Maddie B.

Yelp
Stopped here for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was very busy, but we ended up snagging a table after 10 minutes - they don't have a waitlist for tables, so it's first come first serve. I ordered The Miltown and it was really good! I loved the pretzel bun it comes on! It was quite noisy and I felt the music was super loud, but that comes with eating at a sports bar.
google avatar

Chun P.

Yelp
On a friend's recommendation, we rolled in here at opening on a quiet Monday at 11am. Interior is dark, divey, but still classy somehow, probably due to the American old saloon feel. Staff was friendly overall. $18 BRAT HOUSE SAUSAGE SAMPLER...my buddy and I shared this for lunch...Bratwurst, Polish, Italian, and Hot Hungarian sausages sliced and served with sautéed onions, red peppers, sauerkraut, and mushrooms, and served with a Miller pretzel roll...almost everything is delicious as you would imagine. The Hot Hungarian sausage was nearly too spicy for either of us, but we didn't let it go to waste. $6 LAKEFRONT EAST SIDE DARK draft...this cool, smooth, dark beer is served in two glasses! Great for sharing! Or not!
google avatar

Dre' M.

Yelp
The service was attentive and it business was slow at the time there were no games during lunch in the area so this is understandable. The place puts off a local vibe and hang out for locals who want to grab a drink k before heading down the road to catch the Bucks play. I ordered one of the brats and Parmesan fries and was pleased with the product. It's not a dive by any means but expect sticky tables and crumbs in the corners.
google avatar

Kelvin M.

Yelp
Good food amazing service Ambience is bar like scene You won't be disappointed We had an amazing waitress
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
This place is legit! Recommended by hotel staff, didn't disappoint! We got the Wisconsin burger and the sausage sampler. Washed it down with Spotted Cow and Miller High Life, because when in Rome.... Sausages were fan-tas-tic! So good! From (local) Usingers, lots of food. And that burger was simple but flavorful. Yummy! Lively atmosphere (it is a bar too) but wait staff were very attentive, quick, fun and personable, made it a great experience. Definitely will return!

Yelp
My haiku about taking a bus to see Phish from a bar In Milwaukee Bratwurst in my hand, Rolling bus to Phish's jam, Flavor meets the band.

Yelp
My friends and I visited Milwaukee and out first night they said we had to stop at the Milwaukee Brat House. We walked over from our hotel and ended up with a table outside, which was perfect for us. We went over the menu and the pretzel ($16.95) was a must, my friends had it on their last visit and knew it was AMAZING. We also ordered the Brat House Sampler ($17.95) and I got a local beer. The servers were really nice and attentive, they brought us water and checked on us throughout the visit. When they brought out the pretzel my jaw dropped, it's served in a pizza box because they know you're going to end up with leftovers to take home. It came with cheddar cheese sauce, cinnamon cream cheese and beer cheese soup to dip in. All three sauces were delicious, but the cinnamon cream cheese was the unanimous winner. It was like delicious pretzel dessert. The Brat House Sausage Sampler was also impressive, it came with four full size sausages, grilled peppers, tomato sauce, sauteed onions, and sauerkraut along with a pretzel roll. The sausages were a Bratwurst, Polish, Italian and a Hot Hungarian sausage. All of them were great, but the Hot Hungarian packed a punch!! There were three of us and we still had at least half the food leftover after we were full. I'd say while the prices might seem high at first glance, the portions well make up for it. Throughout the whole experience the servers and security checked in with us and had some small talk, we even talked with one of our neighboring tables and recommended the pretzel to them. I would 100% come back again.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Good food and brats even better service. Always checking up on us and kept the drinks flowing.
google avatar

Steven J.

Yelp
We went here a group of 4 adults and 1 kid. We all found food that was really good. The pretzel app was huge. The sampler app hit the spot for many different types of sausages. They were busy so we had to seat ourselves then go tell the bartender to send a server our way. No big deal. The server himself checked up on us multiple times. Would happily go back
google avatar

Ed F.

Yelp
i wanted to experience a traditional sausage meal made famous in the Milwaukee area. When we found this place that served Usinger's famous sausages, I was sold and ready for the experience. Upon entering this location, it was unpretentious and inviting. I decided to sit in the outdoor dining area. All condiments were ready on the table. Based on the recommendation from my server, i chose the "Milton". It consisted of the original Usinger sausage in a pretzel bun slathered with wisconsin cheese, sautéed onions, and mushrooms. it was also accompanied with parmesan fries. So how was it: it was good, gooey, and delicous. I wish i had another one.

Adeline S.

Yelp
Horrible service, multiple wrong orders, the server seemed to not have many customers but still treated our group like a nuisance. We had limited cutlery and no napkins but when we tried to ask for more by saying "excuse me" our server yelled "you're fine"and aggressively walked away. Finally we tried to use the restroom inside (myself and my friend are under 21) after asking if we could outside we walked in and were immediately asked for IDs and yelled at "no one allowed under 21". After using the next door restaurants restroom we found our server there drinking at the bar!Found the service disappointing, and overall a 1/10 experience.
google avatar

Angela T.

Yelp
Good food and drinks! Service was quick. Lively place. They have $6 Nutrl and $7 vodka redbull. You have to pay more on your tab if you are not paying with cash, mine was an additional $1.48. I've been back several times!
google avatar

Rumesh V.

Yelp
We were here to watch Bucks play the Celtics. Stayed very close to the arena. We came across this bar for our lunch pre-game. It wasn't crowded few hours before the game. Went there around 1 pm. Server was great. He recommended some of his favorite brats. I ordered the Greek Freak named after Giannis. It came with a huge side of tater tots. Brat was very delicious. It was filling as well. Local lager was great too. Server said the bar gets crowded on game days a couple of hours before the game. Lucky we went there 5 hours before the game. Ambiance is just like any other bar.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Hospitality - 5 star Ambiance - 5 star Food - 5 star We had a great experience. We sat at the bar, every bartender interacted with us to ensure we were always happy and had full drinks! They interacted with all their guests, food was great and was delivered quickly. The cheese curds were great... there are a lot! I was hoping they offered these as a side! We're from out of town but visit everytime we're here!
google avatar

Yelp
Milwaukee Dog, Parmesan Fries, and a Twisted to wash it down before heading back to Texas.
google avatar

M G.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere, service and food. The pretzle was huge and SO GOOD. The best ever! The dipping sauces delish too. Cheese curds yum, braut good and chicken strips delish too. Our server was great and friendly and welcoming!!!

Paul D.

Yelp
Excellent polish sausage and a pint of dark local beer for lunch. A standard pub with everything you need.
google avatar

Cathy Q.

Yelp
It was on my list to get good bratwurst while I was in town and found this place ranked as the best place to get Bratwurst in Milwaukee. While I haven't tried every other establishment, the German Style Sausage was indeed amazing. There was a warmness of flavor to the sausage and a contrasting sourness of the sauerkraut that was extremely satisfying. The parmesan fries were nice and crispy. I also ordered the Lunchbox- a combo of beer, orange juice and amaretto that I found odd but delightful and definitely worth just $5. You can seat yourself here but the service is very friendly and attentive! I came for lunch but the dark interior and bar atmosphere would be great on game nights or for drinks out with friends. For parking, I found street meter parking nearby which was like $5 an hour.
