A marvelous restaurant with a historic location in the downtown area of KC. The restaurant has a German Wisconsin history and theme from a variety of top sausages to crunchy delicious pizzas with Wisconsin cheese toppings and more delicious toppings. The deli sandwiches with pastrami or corned beef etc is actually better than the ones you get in manhattan NY :) A great bar area is available also serving local and German beers and other craft breweries and bourbons etc . John , a gracious owner runs the restaurant. We had the pastrami and the slices of pizza and salad . All exceptional . Service is excellent. Highly recommended

Great place to stop in for lunch when downtown if you can get a seat. We had the hot pastrami sandwich and 2 slices of pizza. The horseradish sauce was very tasty and not overpowered. Very nice compliment to the smokey pastrami. The pizza slices were huge. Great crust. Solid pizza. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Service: top tier! Food: excellent! Really want to come back and try the calzone/pizza. Atmosphere: very relaxed and laid back. My only criticism is the soup wasn't very good. It tasted like someone popped a can of some progresso in the back. For a place that has such incredible sandwiches, I'd expect some really good soup. The Reuben was absolutely delicious!!

Huge slices and pizzas, great crust, almost too many toppings so I just got cheese which was fantastic. Sandwiches are stuffed and super fresh. Nice upstairs seasons area and plenty of places at the bar. Great cocktails and beer.

Oh my gosh, I love this place. The pizza by the slice is huge!! I got the deluxe/combo and it was the bomb. We also tried the spiced sausage (without the bun) with horseradish and it was so great! Service was so pleasant. Great beer/liquor choices. I don’t live here, but if I did I would come here weekly to have more menu items/sandwiches and to have more pizza!

Great local spot for superb service and great food. I had a slice of the Cowtown pizza and it was great, I saw a few Calzones coming out and they looked amazing.

I love to take pictures and tell the story of my visit. This time, though I kept my purse in my pocket and just enjoy the vibe. It is a great historic building. The flooring is original. The ceiling is gorgeous. Obviously they don’t want to take away from the authentic historic aesthetic by doing fancy modern renovations. I have to say I love that. So atmosphere is a five star and if that’s not enough, the service was exceptional . At our table, we ordered sandwiches 🥪 pizza 🍕 and salad 🥗 . All were exceptional, and for the price the portions were very generous. My advice would be if you order a single slice. It’s more than enough for one person so if you have 2 to 3 people ordering two single slices might be the better route. We had half a delicious pizza left over we shared the garden salad and truthfully it was enough for four in the full-size. Everything was enjoyable and delicious. The bathroom was clean definitely coming back and not ashamed to bring some friends. Parking tip.: park in the library parking lot be sure to check out the library. It’s a fabulous library and a beautiful building and they will validate your parking.

If you work up an appetite at the Central Library, Milwaukee Deli is a great place to grab lunch or dinner! What a beautiful space they have here! Very historic and grand inside with a huge photo of the deli from the early 1900s. The inside of the restaurant is small-ish, so it can get busy at peak hours, but they have a huge bar. Milwaukee Deli has a large and delicious sandwich menu. Highly recommend the Hot Pastrami. But the best reason to come here is the pizza. They have a couple signature pizza options, and you can build your own. You can get a HUGE slice of any the signature pizzas if you don't want leftovers. The staff is super friendly! Trystan was great! You are limited to paid street parking in the area if you want to park close. But this place is only 1 block away from the Library streetcar stop, and it's down the street from the library parking garage.

It took me far too long to make it to the Milwaukee Delicatessen Company, but I'm glad I finally found myself here. It was a random weekday when I had lunch here with my husband. It was his birthday and we decided to take a long lunch to get out and explore the city a bit. We shared a slice of pizza and a reuben to get a feel for the menu, along with some local draft beers, because ya know it was his birthday! The pizza was really great, the potato salad literally out of this world, the servers were awesome, and the ambiance was exactly what you'd want from this kind of place. It felt comfortable and old school. The reuben was just okay - we both agreed it was a bit dry, but overall we enjoyed our meal here and both would not hesitate to return. If I worked in the area this spot would be in my regular rotation for sure.

This is really good pizza. Large portions with generous amount of toppings and great combinations. Cowtown and a side house salad is my absolute go to. I always seem to grab and go due to the convenience, however their interior is nice and vibey. Staff is always nice and makes sure we have the cheese and pepper seasoning. I'll have to eat in soon!

Our waitress had the biggest smile! Been in a couple times. Once on a streetcar bar crawl and recently game day prep before a Current Game (close to the trolley pickup). Sandwiches were great and the adult beverages were just as good! Street parking in the area but there was plenty to go around, even on a game day. The beer back was classic Milwaukee style (which is my soul city). Cozy joint!!

What wonder cozy little restaurant. The inside decor is a throw back to yester-year in this beautiful old building. The service was top notch as our service was very attentive and food brought out quickly. I had a side salad with house dressing and a salmon BLT. The salad itself was not a typical side salad as it had the usual plus black olives, bell pepper and red onion along with a delightful house dressing. The salmon BLT was tremendous on nicely toasted bread and perfect cooked bacon and salmon. The pizza slice my wife had was huge (see fork next to it in picture for reference) and she loved it. The pepperoni was a little on the spicy side but in a really good way. She really liked the sauce which was flavorful and not too sweet. The crust was done well and not overly thick nor doughy. Definitely would recommend this place for anyone in KC.

Love the building. History of the building is interesting. The food is great. They are known for pizza and by the slice, slices are bigger than the plate. I really love Ruben sandwiches and if you are a Ruben connoisseur I highly recommend giving it a try. Now my new favorite thing there is the kielbasa dogs! I have managed to work my way through their menu and you won't make a mistake when you choose.

I've had Milwaukee Delicatessen bookmarked for a long time on Yelp. We made it by today after the KC Current game. It's a great location at 9th and Baltimore. The place is OLD! Look at the ceiling. SO cool!! We had the traditional corned beef sandwich with sauerkraut thousand Island and their marinated tomato mixture. We couldn't even really taste the tomatoes, which was fine with us. My wife is not a huge fan of tomatoes and she didn't even notice them. Well done. We also enjoyed a wedge salad which had so much meat. It was kind of silly, but also delicious. I love the German potato salad, but my wife was not a fan as she thought it was too sweet. They were very busy after the game and moving as quickly as they could but things were a little slow just because of the amount of people. It cleared out after a bit and things got better. We grabbed two spots at the bar for lunch and the bartender was very good. She was friendly and kind, even though she was swamped. We would like to return and try the hot pastrami sandwich. We have had 51 pizza before and we're not that impressed. So we'll probably stick with the sandwiches but they are excellent. They use Usinger's meats from Milwaukee, which is amazing. So authentic!!

Worst tasting food ever! My dad was on the hunt for a pastrami sandwich, he is from the east coast so his standards are pretty high but he found the Milwaukee Delicatessen and wanted to give it a try. It's located in a historic looking building and has all the makings (appearance wise) of an old school delicious delicatessen. He ordered the pastrami sandwich, I ordered the seasonal salad and Salmon BLT. The pastrami sanwhich was not sliced properly. The thickness of the meat was like brisket. It smelt like elderly people food and wasn't good. As for my salad I loved it! It had quinoa, sweet potatoes, pumpkin seeds and cranberries, all the great makings of a nice fall salad. As for my salmon BLT IT WAS HORRIFIC! The salmon was almost white like canned cat food. AND DRY. I think my neighbors cat has access to better quality salmon than this. To top it off it is a salmon BLT but there was barely any salmon on it, but they sure did load it up with greens. There was probably more lettuce than salmon. The salmon BLT Lacked flavor. It had a Cajun Remoulade but it was like they forgot to put it on cause I couldn't taste it. I asked for honey mustard or any other condiment to flavor this sandwich and the server didn't know what to tell me so she brought out more remoulade but it was a loss cause. Several people told me that I ordered the wrong thing but with delicatessen in your name I would think they had great sandwiches. I only ordered the salmon blt after I saw what my dad's pastrami sandwich looked like and smelt like. Most say they come here for the pizza and it doesn't disappoint and that's good to know but how hard is it to mess up a pizza????

Yelp is amazing, it lead me to one of the best delicatessens I have encountered. Lucky for me it was only 2 blocks from my hotel. I enjoyed their food and ambiance so much that I ate lunch there 2 days in a row. Since I mentioned ambiance, let's start there. This deli started in 1900 by a German immigrant, and although there were some years in between where the space was no longer a deli, the woodwork and original tile flooring remained in-tact. If you know me, I am a sucker for an art deco or old school tiles. I was so in awe that I had to hop off my bar stool to take a picture of the magnificent tile floor underneath me. During my two subsequent visits I had the Central Branch Ruben with a side of German Potato Salad (served cold) and both where on point. I also enjoyed the Milwaukee Style Coned Beef Reuben with a side of their Deli Slaw. The Rye bread was fresh and full of that rye flavor, not a highly processed version but a real homemade bread. The restaurant was super bust both days during lunch, for dine in as well as carry out. They do so much carry our business that the have a separate door and counter. Also noted was the pizza. They serve whole pizzas and slices. Slices are thin and pre-cut into multiple smaller pieces I presume for easy consumption. Although the slices looked and smelled amazing, I was there for the DELICATESSEN fare. Five stars for service, ambiance and food.

Met a friend for lunch and we had a great experience. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. We both got pizza (BYO) and salads. The pesto salad dressing is delicious, just have a mint handy! The pizza slices are huge and I love that you can customize the toppings.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! I figured being a delicatessen that we would just order from a counter. This is the cutest building inside and the service was amazing. I ordered the Milwaukee Corn Beef with a side of potato salad and it was delicious! The bread is what made the sandwich in my opinion. 10/10 recommend dining here!

Omg best pastrami sandwich ever!!! Add the german potato salad... I could eat a whole pound it was so good!! I would go back to KC from Cali just to eat both!

The slice of the highway pizza is the best and with that glass of beer, the service is outstanding always checking on me to make sure that everything is fine and the historic building with the great woodwork, beautiful marble floor with a great original back bar.

I was staying in downtown KC and looking on social media for something interesting for dinner and the reviews for this place were great, so I walked about a mile to get there. They were pretty busy when I got there (on a Saturday evening), but I didn't have to wait, as there was one table (and no bar seats) available. My server was great... she was helpful and friendly. They have an interesting menu with sandwiches, pizzas and sausages... in fact, their story centers around Polish sausages and such. Once I knew this I understood the name of the place. I have to admit that I thought the name was really odd, as we were in KC. I started with one of their cocktails, a strawberry cooler and it was excellent! Very flavorful and not sweet at all! I can't stand beverages filled with simple syrup and this was great! Then I got my pizza... it looked decent, even though one slice was "missing!" There was literally one slice in area on that pie without any toppings at all - odd! The crust was soft, decent flavor. The toppings were decent too. The combo of the crust and toppings was slightly off, but decent... Not sure what it was, but something about the texture and flavor combo that didn't impress me, yet was decent enough to enjoy. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would most definitely return, I'd just get one of their sandwiches or a sausage or something.

Jon and team did a fantastic job, once again, with our group volleyball team lunch order (20 orders). They wrote each player's name on their orders and delivery was right on time. Great menu with lots of variety and a fantastic value. We look forward to partnering with Jon again in the future. Thanks, Jon and team!

If you're relishing in Reuben's moment of glory, then you've found your stage. Not sure about the name, Milwaukee Delicatessen? Aren't we in downtown Kansas City, Missouri? But, one thing I am sure about is their serious sandwiches. Especially, that Rueben... Now, don't be fooled by the two Ruebens on the menu; they are essentially the same, but one crucial difference is tomatoes. The bread, classic striped Rye, and the known fillings corned beef, thousand island, and kraut are shared between the two. However, the central branch rueben (my personal favorite) forges mustard and replaces it with sweet soft marinades tomatoes. Also, you don't have to stick to the Rueben brothers on the menu. Any freshly prepared sandwich, be prepared to wait on weekends during the lunch rush (and don't come on Sundays), is always better with a cold local beer. The hot turkey panini with the same house marinades tomatoes and creamy garlic mayo is another sure fire winner, it's definitely not a light lunch. Of course, the hot pastrami is a classic that this deli does right served on Rye and with the choice, the right choice is to get both, of traditional mustard or zippy horseradish on the side. If you come with a friend sharing sandwiches is the way to go so you can sample more than one. I almost forgot about the delectable salmon club, it's a high class sandwich for a no frills place at a great cost. For under $15 you can get a hefty filet of salmon topped with crispy bacon and dressed with spicy Cajun remounlade. It also comes piled with greens as well as those mouthwatering tomatoes. If you're feeling a little fancy it's definitely worth the order.

Amazing value, service, and atmosphere! As a gluten free diner I am not used to such reasonably priced gluten free pizza-$6.99! Would highly recommend for a laid back meal.

This was a great find in a snowy night last winter by my colleague and I. I've been coming back ever since (quarterly trips). The service is always great! There's nothing wrong with it at all. The ambiance is nice. It's very, hmmm, old? But like old as in period, historic, and well preserved. It has a 1920-1930 sort of feel, but is very clean and very maintained. I love it. It's both a bar and a restaurant. Limited seating though - which is actually good because it allows for the staff to better serve. Less people less busy. The food is great! I highly recommend the pizza! Not only is the pizza like made to order. And very NY - ish... I mean, no it's NOT an NY Slice but it's the closest I've seen from any place that isn't NYC annnnd, they don't claim to have NY style pizza - it's just coincidence that it's similar. Anyways, any place that has pizza has a build your own option. This place is no different. However, you ever been to a place that has a build your own pizza, BY THE SLICE? That's right, you can build your own pizza by the slice and it's all made to / cooked to order. How cool is that? And, it's really good! That's the greatest part. Sometimes you get places that are really good. Sometimes really cool. But not necessarily always both. This place hits both. So why 4/5? More so the cities fault and not really the restaurants, but parking is a mess downtown. KCMO is a small town that acts big - has traffic like it's big - but isn't set up for that. Again, more so the cities fault, but I do get annoyed trying to park here (and don't even get me started about the parking situation during the NFL Draft)

We chose this on a whim when our planned dinner spot closed early. I wasn't sure what to expect but definitely arrived hungry. We ordered a roast beef sandwich and a strawberry salad and BOTH were truly delicious. This was likely our favorite meal during our couple of days in Kansas City. Flavorful, interesting, complex, no fuss. It was a great experience and we'd happily eat here again!

How have I lived in Kansas City for 13 years and never visited this deli?! A friend asked me to have dinner with her here on a Thursday night. The place was hopping, but we were able to grab a table. Unfortunately, there was only one server for the entire dining area, but he did a really great job of keeping things reasonably speedy. I ordered the Old Milwaukee Fashion which comes with a sidecar. It's only $8 for this, which is a steal of a deal compared to most places! It might not be top shelf liquor, but it was good. The sidecar was a nice touch to have with my sandwich as well. There are vegetarian options here. I ended up getting the veggie sandwich with a side salad (ancho chili and sun-dried tomato hummus on a lightly sweetened sourdough, topped with fresh veggies and spice apple chutney). It's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in KC, hands down. I don't know how I've never been in here... needless to say, this place is now on the top of my list to return. There is a grilled cheese on the menu which comes with tomato and I can't wait to try it next. They also serve pizza from Pizza 51. The table next to ours had a ginormous pizza come out while we were dining. You can never go wrong with a good pizza, sandwich and drink place. I may have missed out for 13 years, but I'll definitely be back.

I used to come here all the time when I lived downtown for their happy hour, which was awesome. Today, I came here with a friend for lunch, since we were both downtown for an event. It has probably been a few years since I've visited. Today, the place was pretty full, but there were a few empty tables. When I walked in, no one greeted me for at least five or ten minutes, so I just stood and waited by the front entrance. Finally, a server came over and said that a table would be ready soon. After my friend and I sat down, the server did apologize for the wait. Food was good, I ordered the $12 salmon blt with no bacon (for $2 extra it comes with a side) and my friend ordered a slice of cheese pizza. Food here is always solid and prices are pretty reasonable, plus it's in a really great location (though parking can be a little tricky).

This building has a lot of character. Such a charming spot right on the corner of Baltimore. A great place to enjoy a casual, yet tasty lunch. The menu has a good selection of pizza by the slice or pie, sandwiches, salads, sides, and tons of beers. I've gotta say, I really enjoy their sandwiches, especially the pastrami sandwich, and roast beef sandwich. As for sides, the German potato salad has a lot of hype, if you enjoy a sweet and vinegary potato salad you'll enjoy theirs! The service is friendly and fast. And my takeout orders have always been ready on time. If you get a chance, check out the history behind the building. The Milwaukee delicatessen is a downtown KCMO staple!

This is an awesome little deli in a beautiful historic building not far from City Market. I started off with a seasonal cocktail the Rabbit Hole: Toms Town Botanical Gin, pressed carrot and ginger, Lillet Blanc, orange bitters, and fresh lemon. It was delicious. It was light and sweet and perfect for a warm evening. I then ordered the Baltimore Club: Usinger's Roast Beef & Turkey, Pepperjack, Bacon, Greens, Marinated Tomatoes, with Garlic Mayo on Rye. And I ordered the soup of the day: Chicken Noodle. The chicken noodle soup was delicious. Lots of noodles and the broth was delicious. The sandwich was also really good. It was a good size and all the flavors went together perfectly. I would definitely order this again. The staff is all super friendly and try to accommodate everyone the best they can when it gets crowded and busy. I definitely like having another option to go to right down the street from City Market.

Low key vibes; high satisfaction I recommend this place as it was friendly, chill, and the menu was simple. They specialize in sliced deli meat, pizza, fun cocktails , and craft beer.

Awesome pizza and calzones! Prior to being remote, I worked walking distance to Milwaukee Deli. They can get very busy during the week for lunch. I typically would order online and pickup. I can only speak to the pizza and calzones as I've yet to try any sandwiches. Both the pizza and calzones are great. Pizza slices are HUGE! You really don't need a whole lot more than one slice for lunch. The calzones are a good size portion for the price. I often save half for leftovers if I'm not too hungry at lunch. I have only dined in once with coworkers. Service was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. I need to make it back in next time I'm in the area to try one of the sandwiches!

If you're ever downtown, this is a solid place for a quick meal. I opted for the Salmon BLT for a healthier sandwich, and it tastes homemade but in a good way.

Randomly happened upon this place and let me tell you... go get ya some food. Delicious, great vibe, and fantastic service. We got a sandwich, a sausage, and a slice of pizza. Yes to all!!!

Stopped by this cute little restaurant/deli bar for lunch with some family. The place was clean super friendly staff and good deli sandwiches, not to mention the fact they offer pizza 51 by the slice! You can't beat that. This place was easy to walk to in the downtown kc area and had a nice size bar if your looking to grab a cold one. I had a chicken salad sandwich on toast and my husband had the pizza by the slice (a favor of ours) the family members had a panini and a roast beef on a hoagie. All of which looked great. I actually tried the panini and it was warm leaving me wanting more with every bite! Get down and try it out

The salmon BLT is the perfect marriage of cheese and special sauce and salmon and greens and tomato. The sourdough is incredible. A slice of pizza is way more than enough for one person and you will often have leftovers to take home. Love this place and I love this staff.

@mdcokcmo good for drinks and their sausages. Drinks are cheaper than other places in KC and they are good. The space is cool old KC - it was a hotel. We had a sausage, the bun is perfect. I would get it again and try others. The pizza slices are big and have tons of toppings. The dough is fine. I like other places better.

XXL slices of pizza for about $4. Plenty of beer on tap, by the bottle and full bar (I think). Salad was fresh. Service was friendly. Good spot for casual evening meal downtown. Worth the trip to see the mural from immediately post prohibition with AB Clydesdale delivery as the deli hasn't changed much since. Very cool.

We stumbled upon on this place in search of an excellent gourmet style sandwich for lunch on late saturday afternoon. The decor was comfy and the menu items featured seemed all delicious, that i wanted to try them all. I wanted to order something this place is famous for, so i order the Polish sausage sandwich, with cream horseradish, mustard and onions. WoW it was outstanding, my wife got the grilled cheese and potato salad both were delightful. The pizza looked so good, reminiscent of New York, that i ordered a huge slice to go. High five! we will be back.

If you find yourself in KC don't miss this one. Located here for over a hundred years this is the best deli I have ever been in. The food is so good. I had the reuben, hands down the best ever! Nice size menu. Friendly staff, lots to take in. A do not miss.

Delicious little spot in Downtown KC. Huge, NY style pizzas. Single slices are made to order so you can create your own. Bacon and Pineapple was delicious. My friend loved the Veggie...she said she never considered putting broccoli on a pizza but it was amazing! Crust was perfect coming from their wood fire oven. Check it out!

One of my go to pizza places for takeout. You can order by the slice, which is a super generous portion, or a whole pie if you're feeling hungry. I typically get a 14 or 18 inch but if you're having a party they have a huge 26" pie. If they run out of small boxes you will have to walk back to your apt with a two foot box looking like a fool (it did fit through my door somehow). The highway supreme is my go to but the calzones are always a great choice too. Do yourself a favor and get the breadsticks topped with garlic and mozzarella. Service for dine in is always prompt and polite!

Came here for lunch with my mom and sister. We shared the roast beef sandwich, the grilled cheese and a slice of pepperoni and sausage pizza. It was all amazing. I liked the roast beef sandwich better than the grilled cheese. I wish the grilled cheese had a buttery grilled exterior but it was a little dry. The pizza is amazing! Hands down the best ranch dressing I've ever had.

Dined here twice - 2019 and 2023. After the first visit, our group thought the Cowtown was the best pizza we'd ever had. Went again in 2023, and the Cowtown remains the best pizza that I've ever had. Great ingredients and crust. Love this place!!

Spot has been on my list for awhile. Heard good things about the rueben and the ginormous pizza slices so decided to stop in for dinner on a friday night. Place was completely near full capacity when we arrived but there was no wait. We waited at the entrance for a bit before a server came and sat us at our choice of open tables. The place was popping. Lots of people meeting with friends or socializing at the bar. Everyone was having a great time and so it was very loud in this smaller establishment. I didn't mind it but the way the room is, it makes it very easy for a busy place to get to a higher noise level. The ambiance and the feel of the place was awesome. An old building that kept its character and charm. Super cool vibe and feel. My review is 4 stars mainly for the food and service. The place was a bit understaffed for the amount of customers. It took us a bit to be sat and when we were it also took a bit to be served with waters. However, I didn't really care because I went with my brother and it just gave us plenty of time to catch up. My brother ordered the old highway pizza slice. Which you know by the other reviews It's a very generous portion for one slice. They loaded up the topping which made every bite super flavorful as you were getting a bit of each topping with each bite. The pizza was solid because of the toppings but the cheese and sauce itself was a little bland. But still very delicious. I was super excited to try the rueben and the meat and ratios within the sandwich were done very well. Even the thinner sliced rye bread made every bite very good. Only complaint that unfortunately kind of ruined the sandwich was that it was burnt. I like the bread crispy but I don't like the taste that comes from the burnt bread. Unfortunate and I possibly could've sent it back or atleast asked for new piece of bread for the bottom, but we weren't checked on by our server and due to how busy it was and the time it took for our food to come out it didn't seem worth it to me. Cool place and plenty of beer options with above average food makes this place a good spot. However, probably wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back.

I can't believe this was my first time coming across this place for the 3 years I've been here. We came here on a Friday night and it was busy. This is the spot to start the night or have a date night. We waited for a table to be cleared off and shortly after sitting down there was a line out the door. Service was on the slower side as I think there was only one server for the tables. The pizza was delicious. Sauce wasn't over powering the pizza and more than enough toppings on every slice. We even had leftovers. The bar area looked nice and even had upstairs seating. I'd put this on the list of places to visit if you're from out of town

This charming little restaurant maybe easily overlooked when passing by, but what cannot be overlooked is how delicious the food is. Not only were the sandwiches fresh and filling, but they were not over priced. Highly recommend. We will be back to try their pizza next time...unless we succumb to lure of those delicious sandwiches.

I wanted a 26 in pizza cut into 8 slices, but instead they cut the pizza into party pieces. I called to complain about their lack of care for what the consumer wants. I was told they would try to not use muscle memory to cut the pie as the consumer request.

Milwaukee Delicatessen is an excellent place! Nice, quiet, and comfortable. I was in KC for work, and came in for lunch since it was close to the hotel. I had the hot pastrami sandwich. It came out fast, and tasted excellent! So I went back for dinner the second night. The pizza was better than the sandwich!

This is a cool place. I visited on a busy Thursday evening, ordering a huge slice of pizza ($4.15 plus .75 per topping), and the Old Milwaukee Fashioned (7). The food and drinks are very reasonably priced; when the pizza slice is sliced, ya know its big! Our server was fun and efficient, the atmosphere a bit cramped but quaint. The drinks were strong. The food really good. Given what is available locally, and considering the great value and quality of the food and service, I would definitely return and spread the word about this great place tucked in the heart of downtown.

We LOVE Milwaukee Deli to the point where we knew we had to have it as a late night snack at our wedding! We worked out a catering order with Jon who was so great at assisting us and making sure what we ordered showed up at our venue at the requested time! We didn't have to worry about a thing on the day and just got the glorious news from our venue coordinator that the pizza had arrived! Our guests DEVOURED this pizza. Thanks again to Jon and Milwaukee Deli for helping to make our special day even better!

Excellent side salad with house vinaigrette! I loved the vinaigrette and would order that again for sure. The Rueben sandwich was good, but I may be the exception in that I prefer more of a balance between the meat and the sauerkraut toppings. This sandwich was stacked high with meat and just a smear of dressing and sauerkraut, so all I could really taste was the meat. Hubby had the pastrami and thought it was really good. The rye old fashioned was good (I gave hubby my sidecar of Old Milwaukee, just bc I'm not a beer girl) and the price was very reasonable. The clientele was a diverse mix and this place felt like a true neighborhood bar, complete with lots of to go orders, full tables and people who all seemed to know each other. I think we will definitely be repeat customers.

Absolutely delicious! I went with the cowtown and highway special. About 20 minutes of prep while I had a beer. It was worth the wait. These slices are large, two of them is nearly a whole pizza. However it is worth every bite

I worked down the street and was so happy to have found this place! I frequented Milwaukee Delicatessen for several years and have brought several of my team members here for lunch meetings! My family and friends have all been really happy with my recommendations here and all leave full and happy. I definitely think this is some of the best pizza in Kansas City!! You can also order online for pick-up during the busy times, which I definitely recommend- but absolutely worth the wait!
