MIMARU Tokyo Ueno Okachimachi

I loved this hotel so much; it exceeded my expectations. I mentioned it was my sister's birthday trip, and the hotel created a special memory for me with a small gift, which was very thoughtful. It was also our anniversary trip! I stayed here with a large family of over 10 people, booking two large rooms. Everyone was happy. It was conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. The hotel even provided a Balmuda toaster oven, which I loved because I love bread! The kitchen was fully equipped with a refrigerator, oven, and microwave. The bathroom had separate shower and toilet rooms, making it convenient as we didn't have to share. There was a wardrobe with hangers, and two large tables perfect for family meals. There was plenty of space to open our suitcases. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone. The reception staff were all incredibly lovely.

The best hotel I might ever have stayed in and perfect for this trip (a family of 5 first timers to Tokyo).|It might not be the fanciest hotel, the rooms are great and it is cosy. The location is excellent and everything is nearby and transport for getting around Tokyo is very close and easy.|But what makes it exceptional is the staff. Beyond kind, friendly and pleasant. Just so lovely all round to all the family. We were always greeted with smiles and any query or need we had was met with above and beyond service. |I genuinely couldn't recommend higher for families especially. |Ueno is also a great location if It's your first time in Tokyo.

Facilities were great, rooms was spacious and a good fit for a family of 4. Compliments to the housekeeping team as they always ensure that the rooms are kept clean. Ideal location, short walking distance to the metro and the kombinis - Lawson, Lawson100 and Familymart, Ameyoko market, Parco and Matsuzakaya. If you're travelling to Tokyo, this is a great place to stay esp for families. 👍👍👍

Thank you for having us as guests and for the wonderful stay. There were several things we loved about our room that I would like to share: Room: 1) It was very spacious and nice to have a room with separate beds for our entire family of four. 2) Mini kitchen: having a room with a fridge, freezer, microwave, and stove seemed a litte excessive at first but we ended up using all of them. 3) Room was clean and nicely styled Service: 1) Our interactions with the hotel staff, especially the front desk were very positive and felt very personalized. They provided great recommendations for both dining and activities. The hand drawn profiles in the elevator is a creative way to introduce the staff. Thank you to Dong, Aika, and Uraru for helping us with recommendations, activities and helping set up our luggage delivery to Narita Airport. Location: 1) near multiple main train stations 2) near police station which made it feel very safe 3) near great dining options all within walking distance 4) near activities such as Ueno zoo or department stores for shopping and dinning. Overall: We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. We would love to stay here again in the future.

A great hotel with wonderful staff in a great location. Lots of local knowledge posted throughout the hotel. Room was spacious and clean. They were excellent with our children and had lots of fun little things for them to do. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno Okachimachi for 7 nights in November 2025, and it was an excellent choice for our family. Located on a quiet side street, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from several train stations, making it an ideal home base, especially for families with kids. There are lots of places to visit and shop that are within a 10-minute walk (Ameyoko Street, Parco, Don Quijote, Uniqlo, Ueno Park) and there are two (yes, two) Lawsons within a 2-minute walk. The room was spacious and clean, offering plenty of room for our family to relax comfortably. What truly made our stay special was the outstanding staff - they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our daughters loved interacting with them and enjoyed the variety of games offered at the hotel. The staff also provided local food recommendations and efficiently helped us with luggage shipping. We're very grateful to Amu, Urara, Aoi, Aika, Honoka, Raziel, Dong, and Wing for making our stay memorable. Apologies if we missed anyone! Overall, this hotel offers a great mix of comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality, making it a top choice for families visiting Tokyo.

Stayed here in January with family of 5 in one of the family rooms. The hotel was well appointed and clean. Only thing was the beds were a little on the hard side for my liking. The Location was within easy walking distance to Ueno food district. Really appreciated how friendly and welcoming the staff at the front desk were. I would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding stay! Hotel is a great location near several subway lines, airport express train, Ueno station and lots of restaurants. The neighborhood is vibrant but not as crazy crowded as some parts of Tokyo. We loved the Ninja room which had great themed decorating and plenty of room for a family of 5. Hotel staff were super helpful and the kids loved the scavenger hunt and other hotel activities. Highly recommend for families with kids.
