Located on Hixson Pike, their sign stands out so it's pretty easy to find. They are on the end of a strip mall series of buildings so there is a good amount of parking near the building plus more behind the building. There is a handicapped space right near the front door. To get to the rear parking you need to go between the building to the left of Mimi's. There are only about ten spaces there and it's a little tight.
Walking in, there is a pickup window immediately on your left. This is where you would get your online and call in orders. All others need to walk to the counter straight ahead. The counter is far enough from the door that any line shouldn't need to stand outside, and there is ample room inside to snake around without crowding everyone else. The menu is above the counter on TV screens. I found the menu a little hard to read due to the sunlight reflection, so I had to move around to read everything. The menu does include descriptions, so it can take awhile to get through, but you definitely know what you are getting. Ordering is quick and easy, and their payment system is one of the easiest I have used.
The servers were pleasant and informative, and I was greeted several times as I made my way to the drink dispenser. Next to the drink disperser you will find utensils, napkins, lids, etc. You will also find some pickles. You don't get a pickle slice with your sandwich, but you can select from five different marinated pickles. The choices when I was there included BBQ, Cajun, dill, sweet, and buffalo.
We decided to sit outside on the patio, and our server made a note so our food would be delivered there. You need to go back out the door to access the patio, which consists of four picnic tables under a covered area.
Our food took 10-15 minutes to come out during the busy lunch rush. My Ultimate Reuben was very good. The marbled rye is heated in a panini press. The corned beef was about an inch thick, with plenty of sauerkraut as well. The added bacon was crispy and added a nice flavor to the typical Reuben, as did the banana peppers. The sauce is their own version of Thousand Island and certainly complimented the sandwich.
Of special note are the fries. They are seasoned nicely and bet tasty. I would say a little too much salt, but most would probably find it to their liking. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Ordering a basket would not be a bad thing.
Mimi's has an extensive menu which includes cheesesteaks, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, and melts. They also have several salads to choose from. Based on this experience, I anticipate many returns as I work my way through their menu.
