March, 2025 Back again. Same great waitress. Quick efficient service. Had the Pick 2 and Pick 3 dinners. Fetticini Alfredo sauce was creamy. Eggplant parmasean pretty heavily breaded. Lasagna and ravioli was good. October, 2024 Awesome waitstaff. Friendly and welcoming. Delicious Italian pasta dishes, soups (lobster bisque was incredible!), salads ( fresh and crispy) and Gelato! Casual setting in a family owned restaurant with an 87 year history of serving Italian food to Clarksburg!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt this one was necessary. I’ve lived in Clarksburg my entire life, and this was my first time stopping in to eat at Minards. I had an incredible experience! The atmosphere was lovely, waitstaff was super friendly. My server was very helpful with any questions I had and also helped me make my decision on what to order. I ended up getting the bruschetta as an appetizer, and the three way combo as entree ( i chose the eggplant parmigiana, manicotti, and cheese ravioli). The bruschetta was amazing, and was the only thing I got a picture of because when my entrée came out, it looked too good, and I had to dive in… Everything was very tasty, I did not have to wait in betweeen courses. needless to say I will be coming back and recommending Minards to friends!!

Been going to this restaurant for 40 plus years. Not sure what has happened to this place. Took a group of 8 people. The food is definitely not the same as it used to be to be. The entrance of the place was definitely not as desirable as it once was. Bathrooms felt like the heat was on. Bread seemed to have changed as well. I use to make this a mandatory stop to have dinner when coming from Florida. Sorry I won’t be making it a priority anymore. Help things get better.

We ate at Minard’s the other and had a great experience. Our waitress was very friendly and answered our questions about the menu. We took her recommendation and ordered the lasagna, which was big enough for two people. The sauce was excellent and we can’t wait to return for more.

Should have know from the empty parking lot and all the dead plants in front of the building. Was told they have new owners by the inexperienced waitress. Reservations for 10 tonight one person’s food was not even on her ticket she forgot to write it down then was told sorry it will be out in 15 minutes It came out 5 minutes later and noodles was not all the way cooked . Been a loyal customer for many ( over 20 years ) . Definitely was not the same sauce or salad it used to be ! Even the bread was different. Needless to say we won’t be back .Actually if changes aren’t made I doubt they will be there much longer .Four of our guest didn’t even eat there food .Very Disappointed…..

We have been going here for over 30 years. Walking in the landscaping was filled with dead plants. The entry way was so hot and stuffy it felt like they had the heat on. The food was less than desirable. The bread was not even an Italian bread. The desert was so bad the 4 year old couldn’t eat it. The bathroom was as hot and stuffy as the entrance. I’m sorry to say the tradition of going here with our family has came to an end ☹️

We stopped in last night (to try it again, after two other failed attempts) hate to not patronize because it’s been a staple in our family. However, our waitress was wonderful! Our salads, great (our waitress made) I ordered a steak hoagie combo. The bun wasn’t cut correctly, leaving the toppings left on top instead of inside, wasn’t baked well~ temperature cold. It fell apart attempting to try to eat it. That was a fail. My daughter in law ordered salmon, that wasn’t cooked fully, had to send that back as well. Our waitress was amazing. The manger tried to make it right by offering another meal or a dessert. We declined. So she comped by bill $9 I believe. I know good help is hard to find, before you bring that food out, look at it, don’t serve something that already looks bad before taking it to your paying customers. Do better. I have faith in the Minards family. It will never be what it was growing up, but what is. Keep trying. Pay attention. If it’s not looking good, chances are it’s not tasting good.

Google
The food is normally very good. There was a visit when the food was not up to par, so the next time I mentioned the issue to the general manager. He apologized and gave me my order for free. He showed genuine concern and handled things in a very professional manner.

Minard's is known for delicious food, outstanding service and a friendly environment.

Yelp
I really hate giving bad reviews, especially to a locally owned place that have been in business for so long, but my goodness Minard's keeps going down hill further and further. Proof of that is the fact you no longer have to wait for a table on a Friday night the day before a huge WVU football game. Off to a bad start the bread for the table was stale. The best part of the meal was the dinner salad that game with the dinner. The salad was fresh, but frankly the dish was so small you wonder why they bother. Another decent dish was the Unstuffed hot pepper with melted cheese, (think deconstructed stuffed pepper). I would prefer a regular stuff pepper, but this really wasn't bad and was a huge dish. I ordered the spaghetti and Lasagna combo, and the Lasagna was ice cold. The wife ordered the special, which was a NY Strip and side of spaghetti. The price $15 was really reasonable, if not ridiculously cheap, so we were expecting a very small steak. On the contrary, the steak was huge and looked great. However when the wife cut into it the steak it was not medium rare at ordered but almost blue. We asked for it to be cooked longer and even told them to cook it medium and it sill came out very rare. That would have been OK but the meat was tough as shoe leather. We would had prefer to pay twice as much for a good steak, then the $15.00 for one the wife could not chew. A person that was with us barley touched her Mahi Mahi because she claimed it tasted of freezer burn. Totally disappointing.

Yelp
Used to come here in my younger days, was passing through, and decided to stop for an old fashioned Italian dinner. How things have changed over the years. The portions for the price seemed lacking, especially for pasta. The bread was amazing, salad was sad, pasta was cooked to perfection, but the sauce tasted like Ragu, not the homemade sauce I remember. It was quite expensive, but mediocre quality.

Yelp
Good food and polite service. I have never had anything bad or subpar here. To go orders are always completed in a timely fashion.

Yelp
Tony and I stopped in Clarksburg WV today on our way to Morgantown for another one of my cancer treatment. I had been wanting to check them out and was excited he was with me. Normally anymore, I go alone, so I enjoy when we can dine somewhere new together. We arrived and entered into the lobby area, NO HOSTESS. We literally waited 6 minutes, I was looking up a number to call them when she came into the area. "Unapologetically she says, "Can I help you?" I said "Yeah we want to eat"...I should have turned around right then and left. We were seated and then a few minutes later Melissa arrived to get our drink order. I took a Coca and Tony a Budweiser. Then she left again, a few minutes later, she said "Oh I forgot your bread" gone...a few minutes later brings bread...oh I forgot the butter, gone!! Finally she's back, I said "We are ready to order!" I ordered the shareable Platter off appetizer section, sausage, Sauce with Hungarian peppers, Provolone cheese wedges, fresh ricotta balls and cocktail meatballs... exactly how advertised!! Tony had the Senior Rigatoni with Meat sauce & 1 meatball. She brought us a basket of four slices of Cold Italian Bread out of the bag from Tomaro's Bakery (that's what it tasted like... definitely not made there!) With butter. Tony also got a house salad of lettuce, shredded cheese and some diced tomatoes with ranch dressing...bare bones salad! When our food arrived, Tony absolutely loved every bite...not me!! He said "I can tell something wrong, what is it?" Well, my food was absolutely cold, nothing not one bite was hot or remotely warm. My cheese wedges didn't even string cheese out of them when I took a bite...the Fresh Ricotta balls looked and cut like meatballs on outside, very good taste inside but cold. The cocktail meatballs and sausages were all dried up and very cold. I was not happy!! We were sitting near kitchen door and could hear the cooks complaining loudly about all the food they were putting out. They were not happy to be there and one lady never missed a beat or took a break. I told my hubby I was not sending food back. The cooks already upset, didn't need anything done to my food...so I didn't eat much Waitress wanted to know if I wanted a box, I told her no thank you. The cashier asked if everything okay, I told her no and explained. She offered to get a manager but still took my credit card for payment. No need to complain now, already paid. Never going back...there customer service was shot-tee in every aspect of our visit. I was very disappointed..this restaurant around since 1937... original owners would not be happy... don't even know them but to be in business over 80 yrs, they did something better than they are now I don't recommend at all but this is based on my horrible experience with bad service, bad food and well bad everything. Good Luck!!!

Yelp
Why are there not current reviews? Almost all are over a year old. I know Minards seemed to be having a tough spell but the last four years have been awful everywhere. I still buy their grocery store items but miss the salad.

Kim P.

Yelp
It's really sad when a once great restaurant falls, but it seems the Minard's of the past is no more. My husband and I recently stopped for dinner and were happy to notice the restaurant was running a special seafood buffet for Good Friday. Unfortunately, it was extremely poorly executed. Other than the peel and eat shrimp (which was still half frozen) every single item was fried and most likely came to the restaurant that way (think Sysco Foods). Nothing fresh, nothing made in house... all simply dumped into a fryer and placed on the buffet. No extra effort was made by the staff. Service was adequate, but considering the meal was self serve it didn't take much effort either.

Abby M.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night...I've always loved old houses turned into restaurants, but this place had no coziness at all. No class. Salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and small bits of chopped tomatoes, dressing... that's it. The stuffed shells were day old pasta that was over cooked. They were filled with horrible meat and undercooked green peppers. The combination was in recognizable due to everything under reds sauce. The red says was good, but my mom's is way better. If you like chefboyardee than this is definitely your place to have "real-Italian". The matre'd was more like a warden, not friendly at all, could definitely tell she was there for the title, no customer interaction, ziltch. Don't waste your time or your money.

Yelp
Travelling through Clarksburg, WV and stopped for dinner at Minard's Spaghetti Inn. It was the best decision I've made in months! The food was absolutely fantastic, super service, and the atmosphere was incredibly unique and charming. It felt like we were dining as personal guests in the family home. I had a side salad and lasagna. It was excellent. My wife ordered spaghetti and Italian wedding soup. She was very happy! The star of the show was the Torta Tenerina dessert dish. It was so delicious i can't stop thinking about it! Jessie, our server, was super friendly, fast and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. We couldn't have asked for anything more, especially on a busy Saturday night. If you are ever anywhere near Clarksburg, don't miss out on this gem. Thanks for a great night out, Minard's!

Yelp
I was quite hesitant about trying this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews, however, I was looking for a non-fast food type of sit down homestyle meal. I went at 7 PM on a Friday night and the seated right away. The white staff was very friendly and took my drink order as soon as I sat down. They returned quickly with the bread basket and took my order for the homemade lasagna. The entrée came with a small side salad, which had a very tasty and simple house vinaigrette,, the only thing was that the salad was composed of just lettuce and tomato, no onions, no peppers no carrots no olives no cheese . It didn't take very long for the entrée to come out and even though the lasagna was not very thick as it usually is, it was quite tasty. The prices were quite fair with the entrée salad, bread and butter and soft drink coming to a total of $20 even including tax and tip. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again as the food was very good it was very reasonably priced, and I had no issues with the service, even paying the bill was a breeze with a QR code on the receipt .

Yelp
Stopped in here because I was looking for a place with sunshine seating and good food. Though the reviews were contradictory, my b/f and I decided to try it because the outdoor seating area was so cute and it was a beautiful day and the menu looked appealing. When we got to the parking lot, there were hardly any cars there. Now I know why. When we entered the lobby, there was no one there, but a sign said to seat ourselves. We waited for some time and finally, an employee rounded the corner. She was quite short and dismissive with the Door Dash man who had also entered and waited behind us. We then asked if we could sit outside and she said "You can sit outside, but I won't be able to wait on you. I'm by myself." If she had been busy, I would have been more understanding, but there was ONE woman in the dining room eating alone. We decided to leave and find somewhere more welcoming. 1) Don't have an outdoor seating area if it can't be used. 2) Hire staff that will welcome customers. 3) We went to The Caboose down the street and they were welcoming, opened the outdoor area just for us, and provided us a lovely lunch. I recommend bypassing Minard's altogether.

Yelp
Customer service is very bad! I ordered online and I order a large antipasta salad and received a small antipasta salad. I brought it to their attention that the online ordering said a large antipasta salad was $4.00 and that they owned me what I paid for! Instead of giving me an large antipasta salad they gave me a refund. Also I had ordered an extra order of bread loaf and never received it. After talking to her I checked online and she raises the price to $9.00 instead of the $8.00 she told me on the phone!! Bad customer service!!!!

Nichole S.

Yelp
I am writing this review in hopes that the owners of Minards a long time favorite for us will read and course correct! We live out of state but we often stop by on our way to our families house for take out so we can have dinner together. We just did the same last weekend. When I arrived, the restaurant was busy. It was decorated beautifully, had Santa there and live singing. Very festive! It felt great standing there waiting for my take out. The order was correct. However for the first time, the food was awful. The lasagna tasted old, tangy and like a big pile of mush. The ravioli was dry and hard with almost no sauce on it. The salads were sparse but fresh and okay. We ended up throwing away most of the food. Please please address these issues and bring back the high quality food we all love!

Yelp
When did Minards jump the shark? Did they get new owners? New cooks? - I ate there over weekend and their spaghetti sauce was terrible as was the minestrone soup - until they get their act together I'll be at twin Oakes - at least Jimmy owns and still cooks there - talk about consistency!

Yelp
Oh Minard's-tonight you broke my heart! I have been enjoying Minard's for over 35 years. I left the area years ago but every time I am in the area I have stopped by and enjoyed wonderful Italian food- NO MORE! My family and I came tonight for dinner--What happened to the wonderful Italian bread? Seems that Minard's changed their bread supplier- Also the Pasta tasted like boxed pasta (nothing like the pasta from past years!) If that was not bad enough~ the waitress informed us that their insurance was not up to date??? So they could not serve any alcohol! (No Chianti! What???!!!!) Something has changed and the food and service was just not the same. Oh Minard's you broke my heart tonight. My many years of wonderful and delicious memories have ended tonight. :(

Amy K.

Yelp
So dissatisfied with this local restaurant. Customer service has declined and the food quality is subpar. We have decided that we will not be back. There are to many other good Italian restaurants in the area that treat you with respect and has amazing food.

Yelp
One of West Virginia's oldest Italian restaurants and still one of the best. The meatballs here are second to none. Everything tastes amazing right down to the baked bread. Ever since Roses in Morgantown closed this place has the best marinara sauce in the state. I can't say enough great things about Minards. I will caution that if you're not a fan of peppers make sure to tell your server to hold the peppers on your entree.

Jeffrey J.

Yelp
I grew up in Harrison county, and I have enjoyed Minards my entire life. It has been a favorite restaurant of mine as far back as I can remember, and I am definitely no spring chicken. It had been about 6 months or so since I last ate there (maybe the longest stretch in my life) until this evening when my wife and I ordered a takeout for dinner. It is painful to report that the food was terrible. It was shockingly terrible. It was nearly inedible. Specifically I'm referring to my lasagna, and the rigatoni that came with my wife's eggplant Parmesan. The lasagna was thin and dry and stale tasting. The rigatoni had a texture that I couldn't describe, but my wife said spongy, which is pretty close. It was as though it had been cooked weeks ago and warmed up multiple times. It also tasted stale. The salad dressing was good, but the lettuce they gave me was old and rusty on the edges. What happened to Minards? Is it under new management? Are they unable to hire sufficient staff? This is so disappointing for me to say about a restaurant that had a tremendous sentimental value for me. I have no desire to eat their food again.
google avatar

Carolyn K.

Yelp
Steak hoagie and meatball hoagie very good and you get your money worth. Spaghetti portion was very small for the regular size meal with two meatballs. Looked like a kids size and served in what appeared to be a cereal bowl. Very disappointed with the pasta and certainly not worth the price. Some of our family left there hungry. Been going there for years but not anymore.
google avatar

Sarah Y.

Yelp
We stopped here on a weekend trip to West Virginia from Pittsburgh. There was a bit of a wait to be seated (they were short staffed) but we enjoyed our meals throughly! Home style Italian cooking at its best.

Yelp
This was not a good first visit was looking forward to trying this place out for quite a while finally did with my family was only about a 20 minute wait but then we sat there waiting for help for quite a while finally got help and are order taken when we received our food every single plate was cold not even the slightest bit warm was pretty upset ended up leaving not eating anything not sure if I'll ever try and give them another chance

Britani E.

Yelp
First time went and it will be the last. Salad was drenched in oil and had no flavor, steak was full of gristle and very chewy. My husband had stuffed shells and they were very bland and plain. 0/10, Would not recommend.

Yelp
It's been 15 years since I last visited this establishment until today for the Mother's Day Buffet. It was absolutely terrible from the moment my party of 12 walked in until we walked out. I had hoped that service and food had improved since my last visit long ago, but it has not. There was no employee to greet us for several minutes, and there were several others waiting before us. When we saw someone finally, I had asked who do we see to check in and was instantly greeted with distain asking if we even have a reservation. Which we did and even though there were a dozen tables open, it still took several more minutes to be sat. There were no silverware and no bread on our table as we saw were on others. The waitress was horrible. She couldn't answer any of our simple questions without stating she will need to go ask and completely lied about the bread coming out of the oven. The bread that "just came out of the oven" was cold. We had to flag her down to refill drinks. She only had 2 tables, and considering we had a party of 12 - the tip from our table would have been significant if she had gave us better service. Now, on to the food. The buffet had an assortment of pastas, but even though they were in heating dishes, the food was slightly warm. It was very bland as well. My son's spaghetti that he ordered from the limited menu not the buffet - the noodles were crunchy.

Ray J.

Yelp
always loved the food here, still do. But if ur going out for a nice quiet dinner , this was not the place to go. Under new manage and it was absolutely chaotic there yesterday .. staff was extremely loud manager was running around talking to staff way louder than should have been, Looks like it's going to be take out from now on .. can't deal with that !! All the remodeling isn't going to fix an atmosphere like that ! So sad !

Alex P.

Yelp
We came in and waited like 20 min with no host available and once we got seated it took them 10 min to get drink And silverware.. and the bread was said to be coming out fresh and once they brought it out it was cold like cold cold and they all have attitude problems and our salads are very bland with no flavor at all the house dressing is very bitter and the bread they serve is like school bread that they serve with little butter cup and the guy that's serving the buffet is not wearing a hair nett witch goes against health cold violations...

Yuri P.

Yelp
We ordered takeout and waited around an hour and eventually left. There was people that got their takeout before us. Don't waste your time or money here.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Best Italian food their spaghetti and meatballs are the best. Their food is all amazing very nice quiet place to eat with the family. Employees are very respectful and nice. It doesn't take long to get your food and the restaurant is very clean.

Robert F.

Yelp
Last time we ate at Minards the portions were tiny and the chicken tasted and smelled like fish. That was at least two years ago. Hopefully things have improved since then.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
If you want some classic Italian food give Minard's a shot. Go traditional and give the family style pasta option a try. You won't regret.

Sonia S.

Yelp
If I could give a 5 star negative review I would! Our family decided to try them out today for Mother's Day. we hadn't been there in a while so we thought we could give them a try. We called in days before and reserved a time for our party. We arrived and waited in the "tiny" less than welcoming lobby area for 20 minutes (mind you we had a reservation). There was no hostess, the front of the house staff (when we saw them) were RUDE and yelled at each other. The poor guy behind the counter was running everywhere and tried his best. Other staff.... Very unprofessional and made guests clearly uncomfortable. People were waiting a VERY long time for take out orders....it was truly a nightmare (before we even got seated). We are taken to our table, which should have been ready... keep in mind...there were only three other parties in the entire restaurant. We waited another 10-15 minutes just for a waitstaff to come to our table to even greet us and take our drink orders. When the waitress did arrive she was rude, had no idea what the price of anything was on the "limited menu". We had to ask for silverware. Had to ask for bread. We didn't even have water placed on our table. Knowing you had a party coming in - this should have all been at each place setting. The waitress was awful. Waited another 15 minutes just to ask for refills. Salads arrived after our meals. The waitstress never came back to check on us. When we asked for our bills she said I gave them to you. Clearly she did not-she said she gave them to another table! The man operating the buffet seemed a bit "high" and without a hairnet (and he needed one) and he needed a shower. He insisted on spooning out the dishes and I didn't want him to touch my food. The food was bland and awful. We should have gotten up and left and not given them our business. But being a holiday and celebrating with 4 mothers it would have been difficult to find a restaurant that would have accompanied us. It was a terrible experience. For what should have been a nice relaxing days for 4 wonderful mothers turned out to be a nightmare! From the front of the house to the back of the house and from management themselves! Rude and not a bit of professionalism or mannerism whatsoever. If you are coming to the area - I highly recommend trying another restaurant that appreciates your business, treats you with respect and where the food isn't outdated and you actually get waited on. Will never return.

Judy W.

Yelp
A huge disappointment, especially since this restaurant has been in existence for years as a family owned business and well known for its great food 1) Made a reservation the day before for a party of 10 2) Arrived on time and had to wait approximately 20 min. After waiting for some time, and while lobby was getting full, I walked further into the restaurant to ask if there was somebody that could assist us. In a hateful, unprofessional manner I was told "he's coming!" We waited another 5 min for the hostess to even appear When he did he tended to take out orders and didn't even acknowledge the people who had already been standing there for quite some time, including our party. Nor did anyone else assist those of us waiting to be seated 3) We finally get seated with nothing else said. Not "your server will be with you" not "help yourself to the buffet if that is what you are wanting" nothing 3) Waited approximately another 10 min for a server to come to our table . It was a Young girl who didn't explain anything. We Asked about the limited items in the menu and their cost, she had no idea. She had to go ask. She finally took our drinks Nobody was asked if they wanted water and never did get any brought out to the table 4) I finally asked the guy at the buffet if we were suppose to go ahead and come up but then realized we had no silverware on our "reserved" table, which should have already been set up and ready to go 5) When the server finally took our order she still said nothing about going to the buffet. We asked for silverware. She said she would get it. We went to get our food and it was cold by the time we got our silverware 5) We had to ask for bread Server said she would get some. After 5 minutes she came out and said it was just coming out of oven. Some of us finished our meals before bread came out and when it did, it was cold. The whole experience was bad! We will not be returning!!! 6) server had to go to kitchen to get answers to our questions involving the menu We were there way too long. And the staff was absolutely horrible. Unpleasant. Not helpful by any means and downright rude, not only to us but others around us.

Brianna C.

Yelp
The food is good if they can get your order correct. Received half our order 2 weeks ago the other half was not correct. Still waiting for a call back from the manager. Decided to try again this evening and the to go order is wrong again. The staff member at the front was unable to fix the issue. Wont be back. I'm sure they won't care lol.

Debbie M.

Yelp
Outdated is the best description for the food and decor. Not worth the price. Worst tiramisu ever!

Yelp
I Drove 45 min last night to minard's last night for there Famous antipasti supreme salad that I have been ordering for over 30 years and always the same each time till last when my nice large meal size salad was cut down in size by over 1/2 and gone is nice platter it has always been served on to a new small. round bowl that makes it harder to eat also and lacked taste. When you are know for your famous salads for over 75 years you should not change it and for the price that you charge for it I should not have left Hungry. The staff was very nice and I understand that they have no control of changes that are made they just feel the brunt of it

Yelp
This is a nice family place with original ambience. I had the vermicelli and meat ravioli for dinner. The pasta was great!! I really enjoyed the salad as well with the homemade blue cheese dressing. The wait staff is kind and my meal was served quickly. I don't have any complaints!! I'll be back for some good comfort food!

Yelp
Pros -Food is amazing! I love the mozzarella sticks because they are only made this way here -The workers are amazing and always ready to refill a drink or clear your table -The restaurant is very welcoming, because of the decorations and family atmosphere Cons -Busy on weekends but just because the food is amazing!

Yelp
Gone here several times & I am done. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, they just obviously don't care. Especially during these times with the pandemic you would think they would want to better themselves to keep the orders flowing. I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo, that was $15 and some change, it was the size of a child's hand. It was even an extra 2 to 3 dollars to add chicken and I can't believe how small this portion is. With that being said there are more problems with this place than just their portion sizes and prices. I had made reservations one Father's Day for my dad and I to eat there and they had us wait over an hour with a reservation because they were just letting everyone in. Tell me what was the point of a reservation? I have had it! I am all about supporting small businesses and keeping things open, but this business just needs to go under new management or close completely.

Yelp
Our waitress was wonderful but the rest of the staff was yelling and bickering. Over 2 hours to get food in an empty restaurant. Ended up leaving feeling totally unwelcome. Portions very small and mediocre. My first time and won't go back.

Yelp
Thé Waitress was splendid. Very kind and thoughtful, she even microwaved our bread to make it warm; nice touch! Not the only thing that was microwaved heheh...grandmas recipes FROM 1937 sure have expired. The idea was cutsie though lol. If your looking to break the bank and your belly this is the place for you! Thé dessert turned into dinner, cant complain about that yummmm

Yelp
A descent meal. The place is a bit old fashioned looking but the clientele is also on the older side so perhaps that is for the best. The portions are generous but a bit pricier than you would expect in this area. The marinara sauce is very good as is all the pasta I had. The salad was just lettuce a few tomatoes and bottled dressing. I expect a bit more in a restaurant salad in this price range. The service was very good and I never had to look for a refill. A bit of redecorating and a better salad would easily make for a better review. If it was in a lower price point I would also be more forgiving.

Yelp
I am probably bias. I have grown up eating here about 6-9 times a year. I have been a happy customer for more than 20 years. I can attest that the garlic-laden love that they call the house dressing is and has been consistently delicious. Spaghetti and meatballs are always very good as is the lasagna and "Tour of Italy" meal. Recently I managed not to stuff myself and so I ordered dessert. Chocolate Peanut butter cake. So good, that if I don't have room next time.....it will go home with me in a box!

Yelp
So - how about I came here almost every Sunday after church when I was a kid. It was just a place we came. Now I have moved back as an adult (35 years later), and I fully understand the magic of Minards. It is in the house of the original family since 1939. I always ordered the Veal Parm with a side of pasta - it is still on the Menu and it was every bit as good as it was in 197???-1980??. It is just good old fashion home made italian food served by people that care about what the do in a fundamental way. Plus, they have screwed up a formula that works.

Yelp
Not going to lie. I've only ever been here once. I've been raised on Italian food my whole life. My blood runs thick garlicky marinara sauce. But out of every single restaurant in the Clarksburg/Morgantown area I've ever been to, I've never had food as bad as this. The sauce has an almost burnt taste like it sat in a pan for a couple of days getting reheated to shit town and back. The rigatoni's were cooked okay but some of the ends were gummy. Like haribo gummy texture. And finally. The kicker. Their "meatballs" were absolutely atrocious. To call them meatballs is a big insult to Italian food. So soft and finely ground. Boiled meat with no flavor and old pungent sauce don't mix. Will never be back. Salad dressing was pretty good. Waitstaff was super friendly and helpful. Desert was good. Can't really fuck something sweet up. So 5/7

Yelp
Favorite Italian restaurant in Clarksburg! We live in Westerville Ohio, and have family in the Clarksburg area, and come to Minard's whenever we come in for a visit. The family style dinner is a great value, and comes with their famous spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna. Comes with house salad and choice of soup. Delicious! The staff is always courteous and efficient. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was in town on a business trip craving eggplant parmigiana. I chose the WRONG place. I should have gone with my gut when I walked in the door and turned back around. My first impression was that the restaurant was hot and didn't smell very fresh...rather stale. I was greeted, gave my name and was told to sit on what looked to be my great grandmother's couch while I waited for my table. This restaurant had good reviews so I decided I could look past the dated decor for some good Italian food. I must say I did enjoy listening to the conversation from the table beside me. The four people were advanced in age but spoke about current events and topics. I felt like I was at the table taking part in their conversation. The eggplant parmigiana tasted just like a chile relleno from a Mexican restaurant. It was all batter, very little eggplant. It left my stomach feeling gross and greasy all evening. The spaghetti was ok. Nothing special. The waitress was sweet and quick. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, it did not make up for the inadequate food and ambiance. If you are craving Italian on a Sunday night in town, I suggest you go for the Irish Pub instead and get your Italian fix another day at another place.
