Minareto (Syracuse, Sicily) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The name of this resort occupying a whole promontory hints at its Middle Eastern ambience. With their own private beach, the elegant guestrooms are housed in small, intimate chalets dotted around the resort. The Nesos restaurant boasts a decor of wood panelling and marble inlay, while the menu features a combination of contemporary and regional dishes." - Tablet Hotels

We had a lovely villa with private pool which had ample space and amenities. It felt more like a small house than a hotel room. The service all over the resort was exceptional, staff were very friendly and aimed to make your stay enjoyable. The two ocean swimming areas were fantastic. Breakfast was also delightful and diverse. The only critique would be to have a more diverse dinner menu.

Resort Stay with View/Easy Access to Historic Siracusa. Based on my stay, I would choose the Minareto over staying in Siracusa or on Ortigya Island. Our room may have been the nicest at which we've ever stayed. We had a roomy, stylish suite view a killer view of the bay, historic Siracusa and Mt Etna behind it. It was a calming, therapeutic, captivating view day and night. The hotel has a large, well laid out pool area, a sandy swimmable beach and a rocky beach with some swimming but more for sunbathing. There is waiter/food/drink service at all the locations accessible by a Whatsapp message to the staff. Each location was fabulous for a resort. The beach cove is great for swimming and relaxing. The grounds are gorgeous. And again, the view is breathtaking. Normally they have a boat to take guests into town, but I have to report it was not functioning during our stay, which was disappointing. We took a cab into town which was very easy, about 20-30 Euros one way, the staff always got us a ride. The food for Americans at the hotel is a bit challenging -- great burgers and chicken sandwich, great tuna, some more tradiational Italian meals. I would plan to eat off property to be honest. But that is not a big critique. Having gone to the mainland and island every day for meals, I would really recommend staying at this paradise outside the crowds.

The resort exceeded all our expectations. We got an upgrade as it was our honeymoon! Here are a few highlights:|The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious.|The service was always super helpful, warm and attentive!|The beaches are stunning (especially the rocky beach) with clear waters and plenty of space to relax. It was never overcrowded.|Breakfast was super fresh, full of variety and beautifully presented. You have the buffet and made-to-order dishes.||However, there are additional costs if you want to go visit the island ortigia by boat. Also, while the food was delicious, it's rather expensive for sicily.|Still if you want to splurge a little, it is the perfect stay!

The location and facilities are excellent, but the service lacks any added value. There were no complimentary extras—not even a bottle of water per day. Prepare to buy everything! The boat ride costs €25 per person, including children, which feels excessive. Unlike other luxury hotels, there are no free on-site activities such as yoga sessions, water sports, or a kids club. Additionally, the area around our accommodation was quite dirty and wasn't cleaned until we had requested it four times, which was disappointing. Very small gym with no air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent, but lunch and dinner were very poor in quality, small portions (most dishes not even Italian) and extremely overpriced. A few disappointments we went out and had our tasty Italian food elsewhere, with taxi (20-30 euro for whole family, depending on time of the day) instead of boat (25 euro per person).

We stayed at Minareto for 5 nights in June. It far exceeded every expectation. The staff goes above and beyond and gets to know your preferences during the stay. ||Our rooms and views were stunning. The service at the pool or hot tubs or beach is excellent. We love the WhatsApp concierge feature. We loved the peacefulness and that the rooms aren’t in a large tower. Everything was perfect.

Our check in was very easy and everything was explained to us about the hotel and also going into Syracusa, where to park etc.||Our room was very good, good size, bathroom products and bed was comfortable. ||The breakfast was very good, as was the coffee and selection of food at breakfast.||The rocks were great and we spent a few days sunbaking there and jumping off the rocks. The pool was also very good and a nice warm temperature. ||While the location of the hotel is not in central Syracusa, we had a hire car and its an easy 15 min drive there and its actually a bigger city thank you think.||We dined at Schiticchio Pizzeria and recommend it. The street it is based on and surrounded area seemed to have a good selection of restaurants.||You can order room service / food to beach / pool / rocks via whatsapp which was easy.||I was very impressed that I went to see reception the day before we left as we needed help with our bags for an early check out at 600am and there was someone ready at 600am at our room to assist.||Only disappointing this was that in room coffee / team was not included which I feel when you are paying over 500 euros per night it should be. They also only provide a bottle of water on your first night, again, they should include this based on the price.||Would highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely stunning property. Rooms are beautiful and property has two beaches (one is Sandy! Which is hard to find in Sicily). Restaurant and Service top notch- breakfast is amazing and offers many different flavored mimosas. Had to pull back one star because the panoramic view hot tubs were out of order and filled with dirt, TV was impossible to figure out even when we asked for help. Oh and be careful with mini bar and coffee machine.. nothing is free and prices were high compared to other hotels we stayed at.

This hotel is on the verge of exploding into an Eastern Sicilian hot spot - it was absolutely spectacular. The premises are stunning and completely remodeled. The service was 10/10. The food was some of the best we had in Italy. They've made considerable investment into developing the amenities and linking the entire experience to Ortigia island, which the resort overlooks. Their water taxi takes guests back and forth throughout the day for dining and sightseeing. The resort is a short drive to historic Noto, hiking reserves and local wineries. We are from New York and travel extensively; we tend to have elevated expectations and Minareto surpassed them all.
