Our second time here, and I've rated them up a star!
With no reservations on a Sunday night we got sat inside (outside tables were full). Ambiance is still nice inside, especially after sunset.
On this visit, we ordered the octopus appetizer, a mahi mahi entree, a butterfish entree, and a spicy lobster shrimp Thai soup.
Once again, the octopus appetizer kind of stole the show. It was SO good, a symphony of flavors. It was sweet, salty, savory, with capers and tomato. Ask for a side of house-baked taro chips (or more complimentary naan) to scrape up all the sauce leftover, you don't want to waste a drop!
The butterfish tasted like butter, so tender it literally melts on your tongue. The ginger rice was succulent and delicious, as was the bok choy, but I didn't care for the large amount of stringy seaweed at the bottom of the dish.
I tasted my husband's mahi... and WOW. I have never had mahi this good before. I'd always gotten mahi on the tougher side, but this mahi was super fresh and flaked beautifully.
Our other dinner companion enjoyed her Thai soup, and mentioned it was VERY spicy.
Service was fair. We had 4 or 5 people waiting on us, including the assistant general manager. However, I was only having water to drink and I noticed my glass not getting filled as often as I'd hoped. It remained empty for long stretches of time. It also was room temperature water, and I think it would be more refreshing chilled or at least have some ice in it.
Price point is still blindingly high, but it's to be expected at a resort such as this, and alongside the beach as well.
If we come a third time I'm going to use my experience to just order 2 or 3 of whatever octopus dish they have and call it my dinner haha.
