Mine Hotel, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"How did it strike you on arrival? It's impressive how much the designers packed into such a slender building. Decorated with retro furnishings in a 1970's palette of punchy colors, the lobby feels more like your distant relative's living room than a hotel. At the back of the ground floor, past the breakfast room, is a small patio with a swimming pool and a couple of lounger chairs. Nice. What’s the crowd like? There's no shortage of hotels in hipster Palermo Soho, and this hotel attracts its fair share of millennials eager to capture and share every moment of their Instagram-worthy stay. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Rooms are small but light-filled and comfy. Cheerful colors and flower-patterned throw pillows help soften the concrete floors and white walls. Room service: Worth it? There's no room service, but breakfast downstairs is complimentary. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. The Palermo Suite, which features a foldout sofa, is a good option if traveling with kids. Bottom line: worth it, and why? The bohemian decor and friendly staff go a long way in making this affordable hotel a favorite with most everyone who stays here." - Celeste Moure

Mine Hotel, Palermo Soho, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Explore & Book

"Leaving behind the sinfully-tempting vintage boutiques and cobblestones of über-hip Palermo Soho, I am excitedly schlepping my shopping bags through the glass door, when the yummiest of smells hits me. Cocoa Butter. Eyes now narrowly closed, I am enthralled by the delicious, rich, warm scent, which I’ll find out later lingers around the entire hotel. Calm, colourful and bright with warm eco-elements of wood, stone and hemp, this 20-room hotel includes delicious breakfasts, an inviting lounge area, and a garden courtyard with a swimming pool and large daybeds. When we visited, a soundtrack of nostalgic 80s songs added to the mellow atmosphere, though a few sips of the velvety Rutini Malbec might have played a part. Up in the room, what better remedy for shopping- and tango-tortured limbs than a soak in my very own Jacuzzi? This is a true feel-good hotel, where comfort reigns - but it had me at the cocoa scent... Highs Slap-bang in the midst of Palermo Soho's boutiques and bars, its location is perfect to give your wardrobe a solid makeover, and you a great night out Jacuzzi baths in the Superior and Palermo Rooms DVD players in all rooms and an extensive DVD library, in case you fancy a cosy night in The most varied and delicious breakfast I had in Buenos Aires - it changes daily Buzzy and welcoming; perfect for single travellers Lows The bathrooms are compact, bordering on tiny The deli-style café is closed for the foreseeable future, so you'll have to dine out for lunch and dinner (no hardship in BA) While stylish and cooling in summer, the concrete floors are decidedly chilly in winter - luckily, fluffy warm slippers are provided" - Maia Tarrant

Mine Hotel Boutique (Buenos Aires, Argentina) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At the moment the Palermo Soho neighborhood is the epicenter of everything creative that’s happening in Buenos Aires — and as such it’s where most of the big developments in the hotel scene are happening as well. Here, just off the Plaza Cortázar, is the Mine Hotel Boutique, a lively and contemporary example of this gentrifying district’s creative character." - Tablet Hotels

We had a truly memorable stay at Mine Hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable – right in the heart of Palermo, the best neighbourhood to base yourself in when visiting Buenos Aires. From cafés and boutiques to tango venues and leafy streets, everything you want is just steps away.||The staff were consistently warm, attentive and welcoming. Special thanks to Claudio, who genuinely went above and beyond throughout our stay. He offered thoughtful recommendations, helped us navigate the city, and even guided us to one of the best tango shows we’ve ever seen – Rojo Tango. We’re incredibly grateful for how he elevated our experience.||We would also love to acknowledge Sophia, Nadina, and Tomas, who were always ready with a smile and happy to help. Their friendliness made the hotel feel wonderfully personal.||The lobby is lovely, and we appreciated the little thoughtful touches – especially the water station and the chocolates at the entrance. The bedding was comfortable, and the room had a warm, cosy feel.||⸻||Areas for Improvement||While we enjoyed many aspects of our stay, there were a few areas that we felt could be improved to make the experience even better:| • Breakfast Variety & Efficiency|Breakfast became quite repetitive. The selection was the same every day – mainly cold cuts, omelettes, pancakes and pastries. After five mornings, it felt limited.|There were also delays at the buffet: for example, the toast basket would be empty for 5–10 minutes, so by the time it was refilled, we had already finished the rest of our food.|At peak times, the space also felt very overcrowded, and at times there were guests with nowhere to sit. Given that breakfast is something guests look forward to, expanding the breakfast area and offering more variety would make a huge difference.| • Bathroom & Room Features|The shower cubicles felt a little dated, and the tiles could use a bit of freshening up. Water pressure from the shower head was only average.|The sink area was quite small, and the tap was positioned so high that water often splashed everywhere.|These are small issues, but improving them would really elevate the room experience because everything else – especially the bedding and overall comfort – was lovely. It’s important to note that these girls were working hard but need more hands on deck at busy periods. ||Mine Hotel has so much charm, an incredible location, and a team of genuinely wonderful people. We left with great memories and warm feelings thanks to Claudio, Sophia, Nadina, Tomas and the rest of the staff. With a few improvements to breakfast and bathroom fittings, this already-wonderful hotel could become exceptional.

We loved our stay at Mine Hotel! The location was awesome: close to so many great spots to eat and walk. The rooms were cozy and clean, and it was awesome to have a view of the courtyard/ greenery from bed on a rainy morning. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating. My one complaint was that the breakfast was so/so… but I would still stay here again if I had the choice.

Mine Boutique is my go-to hotel in Buenos Aires. Its small size means that the staff, who all speak excellent English, get to know guests and are always very accommodating and helpful. The hotel is stylish with a modern vibe, and the location in Palermo Soho is perfect for exploring the city. Palermo Soho itself has a wide range of stores, cafes and restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel - I enjoyed sampling! The rooms are clean and well maintained and the continental breakfast is excellent.||I'll definitely stay at Mine Boutique on my next visit to Buenos Aires.

Mine Hotel in Buenos Aires is a great little place to stay in the perfect part of town; a trendy, lively area, safe, comfortable, just right. Good bars and restaurants are all on the door step. The hotel staff were so friendly, easy and helpful, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. When we arrived in the evening, tired from a flight and just wanted a recommendation for a simple restaurant, the front desk staff suggested what turned out to be the perfect, relaxed, lively little place and also did the table booking for us. Mine Hotel is a beautifully presented, well designed little boutique hotel, which in this big city felt like a cosy sanctuary.

This was a PERFECT place to make our home base for our exploration of Buenos Aires. We had MANY questions and needs, from local taxis to food tours to timeframes to even a medical emergency!!! Each time we asked for support, they rose and exceeded our expectations!!! The little cafe was perfect and convenient; and the location in Palermo set us up to have many amazing meals and experiences within short walks. |HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!

Mine Hotel Boutique was the perfect hotel for our first visit to this amazing city. Location was ideal. Very quiet at night. Staff was awesome - front desk, housekeeping, and bistro. We were there for 5 nights and were sad to leave.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel with 20 rooms in the heart of Palermo Soho. Lots of great restaurants nearby but the Plaza Serrano is under heavy construction so it will be 2 years before the area returns to normal. The room was clean and comfortable with all of the needed amenities. Breakfast was included and had an amazing variety of selections including egg dishes cooked to order. Barista coffee drinks are provided with breakfast. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and provides electric adaptors on request.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at Mine Hotel Boutique last week for 5 nights while visiting Buenos Aires. We loved BA and want to plan a return visit, and we would not want to stay anywhere else besides Mine! I have to start off with saying that the service at this hotel is impeccable. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and willing to help with anything from calling our airline for lost luggage, to making hotel reservations, giving us maps and directions, helping us figure out where to exchange money, and more. After a day or 2, they all knew our names or what room we were in, and greeted us warmly each time we met. Everyone paid attention to every detail to make our visit seamless and fun, from walking us to our room to show us the amenities, or providing a 1-page English newspaper outside our door every morning. Our room was cozy, but perfect for 2 people. It had a queen bed, private bath, air conditioning, and a safe box in the room. Wifi was free throughout the hotel, but a little spotty at times. A continental breakfast everyday from 7:30am-11am was included and consisted of coffee, juice, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, or pancakes. The breakfast was delcious- every morning we had cafe con leche, medialunas, and fresh omelets. By the end of our trip, the breakfast staff knew our order and would start it immediately as we walked in the room. The location of the hotel was ideal for us as well, as there were many fun bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. Highly recommend Mine Boutique!

Yelp
I have traveled to many places around the world and this place is among the top when it comes to making you feel at home and offering a personal touch. This being said, a place will show its true colors where there is a challenge. Allow me to explain. On our first of three nights at Mine, room 205, the air conditioner started leaking water onto the floor. I called the front desk and they immediately called a repair person. However, given time of day the technician was not to come till the next day. The front desk arranged a pile of towels to place under the ac unit to absorb the water drops leaking from the ac unit. The hotel was booked fully otherwise they would of changed our room. That evening after we returned to our room from sight seeing, there was a wine bottle plus meats and cheese platter awaiting us in the room with an apology letter regarding the ac unit situation. The staff working here really cares about your well being and experience in the hotel. In the many hotels I have stayed internationally when you check in they ask you to fill out a form and write down your passport number plus address details. At Mine, the front desk will do this for you so that you do not have to bother with this minutiae after undergoing long day or days of travel. The front desk will also give you maps of the area and take the time to explain where to go for meals, entertainment, money exchange. More importantly they will also advise which areas you should avoid or be extra cautious. Claudio, a very elegant and personable man, and Denise, a beautiful and affable lady, make an excellent front desk team. They, and their team, multi manage all the ongoings of arrivals, calls, exits and special requests. Just another detail showing the excellence of this team: I spotted a flower I had never seen in one of their front desk planters and mentioned to them I had never seen this flower. The next time through the lobby they mentioned to me that they had asked the florist that comes to care for the flower arrangements and the flower is called 'flor de terciopelo o de cresta roja'. Do not hesitate to book at this hotel, you will have an amazing time and feel well cared for. Also, take their suggestion about the food about 50ft down the same block at Ninina. Ninina will blow your socks off and leave you wanting more. When I retire, my dream would be to buy a room in Mine Hotel and eat every meal at Ninina. Ahhh the dream continues. Buen trabajo chicos! Adelante con una buena vida!!!

Yelp
Pros: Conveniently located in the Palermo district with many restaurants, bars and tourist attractions within walking distance. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they will help in booking dinner or shows, and their English is fantastic. There is a computer in the lobby if you elected to vacation without lugging a laptop. They also provide a plug in case you forgot to bring the local converter. And the bar has a fabulous breakfast service, the pastries are out of this world. They also have gormet coffee and make to order hot breakfast. I recommend the fried eggs & potatoes are crisp and delicious. Cons: The rooms are small and bathroom is tiny. The bidet is wastes some of the most valuable real estate in the bathroom and makes it impossible to hang clothes or move around. This hotel is also a little pricy for Buenos Aires. Overall great experience. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I have stayed in this particular hotel many times and my experiences have always been pleasant. Although the area is small I enjoyed my stay & the rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. You can have a nice walk and enjoy the neighborhood

Yelp
I only spent one night at this hotel, but I can't say enough good things! First off, the front staff was amazing. Perfect English, awesome list of restaurants, help with anything! We were impressed! And they called ahead to order as a taxi at the ungodly hour of 3:30am, I'll spare you those hangover details lol. Since we left so early we missed the breakfast, but they packed us a little to-go box when we left :) Location is great for walking around the area to various restaurants and stores. The room was cute, I loved the decor, and loved that a power adapter was included! The shower could have used a little updating, but other than that the room was flawless! For ~$133 a night, this place was perfect for our needs!

Yelp
Mine Hotel is a boutique hotel that is located in the trendy Palermo Soho neighborhood. It's a perfect location for exploring the many boutiques, restaurants, and bars Palermo has to offer. We felt very safe during our stay there. The main reason for my five stars is the staff. I've never met a staff that was so friendly and quite honestly I don't know what I would've done without them! They made our nightly reservations, recommended tours, called cabs, and just about anything and everything you could do in Buenos Aires they were experts on. They all spoke English very well too. Our queen superior room was nice and clean, perfect for sleeping. We had a little balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard and pool. The walls are super thin but we didn't have any issues with noise. The shower always left a bit of mess. New shower heads or an actual shower curtain would fix that right up. If I ever find myself in BA again I know where to stay. I want to give a special shout out to the lovely staff Victoria, Angela, Claudio, Ricardo, Gustavo. They really made our stay a pleasant one in BA.

Yelp
Spent 4 nights here in Palermo Soho and loved the neighborhood. The staff is so helpful and kind, we could not have gotten better service. They are happy to help you find whatever you need either for your stay or daily adventures. There are so many good restaurants and clubs within walking distance. Just ask the front desk for good suggestions.

Yelp
In total I spent 4 nights at the Mine Hotel. It's best assets are the staff and the neighborhood. It's not located near a lot of the traditional sites one might visit in BA, but it's located near a lot of restaurants, shops and parks. I stayed in two room types. Room 304 is among the nicer rooms. It's spacious and has a large shower tub that has a high step in, so it's not a good choice for someone with limited mobility. My second room was 104. It was definitely smaller than the other room but had a walk in shower. The bathroom was very small and may be difficult to maneuver for a larger individual. The hotel needs a bit of a refresh. furniture in the hotel is aging and the tiling in the bathrooms needs to be redone. But the daily breakfast is great.

Yelp
Terrific boutique hotel in Palermo. Close to hundreds of boutiques, restaurants and local color. Safe, walkable neighborhood. Rooms are modern, clean, well equipped, great shower, quiet, lovely bar area. Probably the best part is the desk staff. They are so helpful and informative. Plan to come back here. Thank you Mine!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Mine last week. We'd rate it 4.5 stars if possible. We experienced a nice hotel in a GREAT location, with 5-Star service from the staff. THE NICE: The boutique hotel is very nice, with a charming view of an urban courtyard/garden surrounding the ~20 rooms, and a calm lobby with bar and lounge area in the back. There is also a small pool and grotto area, which is small but has a cool "oasis in the city" vibe. The room we stayed in shared was a normal size by South American standards, and well-decorated. But we shared a wall with another occupied room (as almost all rooms do) and at times you could hear the other occupants' water running or other in-room activities. We could also hear the maids working outside in the small hallways during morning hours, though you could tell they weren't being purposeful: the place just has thin walls. THE GREAT: Mine is located in Palermo Soho, an incredible neighborhood. If you're a New Yorker: it's like Greenwich Village, but with the cool boutiques of SoHo. (We've lived in both,) You can walk to a plethora of romantic cafes, cool shops, nice restaurants (that are so cheap!), lively bars, and night clubs. Everyone in the area was so friendly - we made reasonable efforts to speak Spanish but people were eager to speak English. Only downsides we noticed: 1) the ATMs (only 3 blocks from us but that is the only one nearby); and 2) the metro: about 15 minutes walking minimum. THE 5-STAR: The service at the hotel was incredible. A man named Juan Ignacio took such, such good care of us. He made lists of bars, nightclubs, samba lessons (we don't samba but a very considerate thought), street markets and fairs, and tourist attractions. He was kind, spoke perfect English, and went out of his way to think of us. The staff with him was also absolutely incredible. When you stay at a boutique, service is everything. Juan and his team made it so worthwhile. In all, we would give it 4/5 stars, but for the the value ($150-200 a night) it is 5 out of 5 for sure. We would return and hope to soon. Buenos Aires is an incredible place, and Mine made it even more memorable.

Yelp
We only had one night in Buenos Aires and found this hotel via Hotels.com at a very good rate a day or two before we arrived. Nestled in the Palermo neighborhood, this hotel is one of the best we've ever experienced. A true "boutique" hotel, it only has 20 rooms and much care and attention has gone into the design. While modern and artsy (concrete floors, decorative sinks, etc.), everything was still functional and comfortable. Upon check-in, we were provided not only with a map and 10+ minute explanation of sights and attractions nearby, but also a list of recommended restaurants with very detailed descriptions and helpful information in ENGLISH -- a very, very nice and helpful touch. The breakfast was one of the nicest we have ever experienced at a hotel -- in addition to the standard breads and fruits on a buffet, they offered made to order eggs/omelets and pancakes. The service was excellent across the board as well, from the front desk to the service staff. We would most definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We found a better rate on hotels.com than we were able to with other sites and decided to give it a shot. It was about a 30 minute ride from EZE. A key reason we chose this hotel is that it is centrally located in the Soho Palermo district. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff. They were very helpful in giving us maps, restaurant suggestions, places to shop, things to do and more. There was always one person at the desk that spoke pretty good English. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. I recommend ordering the pancakes and spreading their dulce de leche on them and helping yourself to a sample of everything else. The free wifi was also a bonus. One of the things we noticed was the resin animals and bowls in all the rooms. They ended up being for sale and we were able to bring back unique, yet functional items as souvenirs. In short, if you have a chance to stay here, take it. We were on the third floor where the bigger rooms were, so I can't say anything about the smaller ones.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week in August 2014. Located in Palermo Soho. The staff, especially Belen, the Victorias, and Claudio were great. The rooms are clean and intimate if not a tad small. The rates are very good especially as they offer a great breakfast and the hotel itself is a clean and modern decor. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Very late review but this is one of the best boutique hotels I've ever stayed in (and I travel around the world quite a bit). The customer service is so on point and they make you feel right at home and that you are well taken care of during your time in BA. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Will definitely return when I'm back in BA!
