How to Visit Scotland's Inner Hebrides—No Sailing Experience Required | Condé Nast Traveler

"For pomp and presentation Mingary Castle on the Ardnamurchan peninsula — a restaurant with rooms — could match Kinloch Lodge, offering a similarly theatrical dining and stay experience." - Alexander Barlow

Second visit and OMG this place is incredible. Quirky rooms, well serviced, knowledgeable staff and incredible chef. We stayed for Hogmanay over three days and nights had an incredible 22 courses of fine dining over the three nights and a relaxed time in general. If you get the chance spoil yourselves. We will be back in April

Myself and my partner stayed for two nights after coming for dinner the previous year. Absolutely fantastic rooms, food, views and service. Could not fault a single thing. The bath in the MacDougal suite was a highlight. The dinners and breakfasts are wonderful and I believe good value for the quality of the meals. The Wild Mushroom Parfait was our favourite dish across the two nights.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an incredible stay! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The food was absolutely out of this world – we had a five-course meal that was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Every course was so thoughtfully prepared, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You could really tell how much care and attention went into every detail. The staff were amazing too – so friendly, attentive, and genuine. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made us feel completely looked after. The location was just perfect – stunning views and such a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect mix of luxury and warmth, and we left already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend!

Had a fantastic couple of days at Mingarry Park. First visit and keen for a return trip in future. Lovely location with some great walks nearby. We stayed in suite which was superb. Choclates on arrival for my wife's birthday which was very kind. Breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Would highly recommend the scallops, venison and triple G&T :-).

Mingary hosted our wedding, and I cannot speak highly enough of the standard of staff and the place itself. Despite Storm Amy coming through, making the views only more beautiful, the staff took it all in their stride and made sure the service, food, and accommodation stayed at the highest standards. They are genuine, kind people and make Mingary castle the awe inspiring place it is. Thank you!

There are so many wonderful things to say about this hotel it’s hard to know where to begin. It combines pure luxury with a wonderful home from home experience against a wild and unspoilt Scottish Highland backdrop. Every detail of your stay has been so carefully thought out and planned and after travelling to many hotels in different parts of the world over many years, I can honestly say this is one of the best places I have ever stayed. We stayed for 3 nights in the stunning Mingarry suite and our friend stayed in the Moidart room. Both had balconies with the most stunning views and everything from the furnishings and beautifully soft and luxurious carpet, to the towels, bathrobes and bedding was of exceptional quality, softness and comfort. There are so many thoughtful details such as the light switch for the bedside light thoughtfully adhered to the side of the bedside cabinet so you’re not fumbling down the side of the bed to find it, the most amazingly powerful hairdryer i have ever had in a hotel anywhere and something I have never ever seen - hair straighteners! We loved the book detailing the story of how Emma and John have thoughtfully and carefully made the family inherited Mingarry Park the place it is today, whilst also bringing up a young family. What a tremendous achievement and Nicola and her wonderful wandering ducks are a fabulous addition to the family atmosphere. A special mention also to our young breakfast waitress of Scottish / Italian heritage who clearly loves the place as much as the family does and gave us wonderful recommendations for our walks each day, which proved to be the absolute correct choice for the weather conditions (and were just as stunning as she described). The food was also a highlight, with a carefully thought out and creative menu of the highest quality local ingredients. |Thank you Emma and your wonderful team for making our stay so memorable in every way. All the hard work and thought you have lovingly put into Mingarry Park is so very much appreciated.

From the moment we arrived at Mingary, we knew we were in for a treat. Welcomed by charming, professional Ava and shown to our very special room, we loved our tour of this amazing castle. The 8 course tasting dinner should be Michelin starred, a delight. Colin Nicholson is a hugely talented chef, supported by a great team. We can't wait to return! Sally Bennet, Cleish Castle

Myself and two friends were on a driving holiday and had the pleasure of spending the night and indulging in the tasting menu at Mingary Castle. Even though there was a power cut for the duration of the stay, we had the most fantastic time. The level of care and attention was world class. Accom: amazing. Food: amazing. Staff: amazing. We can't wait to go back :)
