The hotel really lived up to its name—mini. Room was very small, especially the shower and toilet area, where you cannot sit without leaving the door open. It's just the right size for two people and overall comfortable. Considering it is on the cheaper side, you get what you pay for. The lobby was probably my favorite part, it was really nice and played some good music. The staff were okay, though one had trouble understanding us. The floor would leak after every shower, and when we told the front desk, he said it was just moisture and suggested we keep the AC on 24/7 (we were already freezing, btw). When we returned, they just placed a towel over it, and that was it for the entire stay. The location is also not ideal for older people or anyone with mobility issues, as it's situated in a very high area and requires hiking up every time you go out. Overall, it is a decent budget option if you are looking for a small, comfortable stay, but be prepared for some quirks.

It’s just right enough for an small adventure in HK! The room :is clean. Space:just big enough for one big and 2 small hand carry suitcases . The location:very good, very close by the bar street and shopping street. The reception: very helpful and sweet. They have a big lobby for customers to rest and cool down in the hot days, they also have water machine for the customers (which makes visitors very handy for the tea and water supply.) Generally is good place to stay, very recommended.

I have travelled much of the world and this ranks as one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Do NOT stay here. I am writing this to help others. The only reason I booked this despite the mainly negative reviews here was because I come to Hong Kong often and have stayed in the Causeway Bay branch many times. That is way better. I gave that a 5 rating and this a 1. I thought based on that, it must be the same. How wrong was I. First and last time at Central. We know it is mini, but this room was just badly designed. The person who designed this lacked common sense! Even the disposable towels despite being thin and not being able to dry yourself properly, I can allow. What I can't is that the room was FILTHY. There was mould, grime and hairs in my room. Gross! In Causeway Bay, rooms have a window, here there was no window. It was like a prison cell. The toilet had a horrible smell. Causeway Bay do housecleaning everyday. Here it is done apparently every 5 days. If you have any litter then leave it outside your room and a member of housekeeping will collect it. The hallways looked like a rubbish dump. WIFI worked well at times, but kept disconnecting especially late at night. Staff are beyond rude and unfriendly. In Causeway Bay they are way nicer. In all my years travelling, I have NEVER had to pay for a hotel to store my luggage after checking out. I had no choice as I had a late evening flight. I know it was only 10 HKD but it is the principal. Baggage storage is usually free of charge. I used to be out all day and come back late at night to avoid going to my room! The only positives are location which is in the heart of Central and the lobby area with the comfy sofas were nice. Otherwise, I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN, EVEN IF YOU PAID ME. Do yourself a favour and either book the branch in Causeway Bay or another hotel.

Hotel itself was clean and tidy, but what a walk up that hill and staircases from the MTR! Not trip for heavy luggage!! Room itself was small but clean and you could hear your neighbors. Not a big fan of the disposable towels, but suitable for 1-2 nights for 1-2 people. Staff was nice and helpful. Would stay again.

The room is small but that's to be expected for HK Central.Great location. There is a short walk and some stairs from the metro, so keep that in mind if you're walking with luggage.Towels are thin disposable ones. Not bad but some might not like them.Slightly musty smell when I just entered but understandable given the size and layout.Room was clean, sheets were clean, bed was comfy. The AC is kind of loud, but again, understandable.Water pressure in the shower was great.Got a coffee tumbler for 60 HKD and got a free coffee. Not a bad deal.Overall I'd stay here again.

I really liked it. The staff were very friendly and I liked the way of using WhatsApp and WeChat to contact with reception. Only things were that have to pay for a toothbrush and toothpaste pack which I thought was a bit odd, also the room gets freezing cold and very damp very quickly so be careful to not have the AC on too high. I liked it though. I would stay again. I quite like the small rooms, as long as there is a window.

It's comfortable enough♡˖꒰ᵕ༚ᵕ⑅꒱ but I wish they gave proper towels instead of PAPER TOWELS 🫨 as a bath towel. There is no shampoo or conditioner There is a laundry self service but bring your own detergent! Room is tiny

The room is not spacious. There is cigarette smell left in the room right before we checked in. The smell didn’t even disappear after an hour or so. There’s no rug, not even slippers, and they give thin disposable towels. Comfort room doesn’t provide security because of its transparent windows and short curtains.

Yelp
The mini central is conveniently located in the city center, of course with pros and cons. It provides acceptable size of small room good for solo travelers, too tiny to share. The sheet isn't very clean, but the city view is great.

Yelp
I don't understand anyone rating this favorably. Yes I get that it's in a good location and that you come in expecting a tiny room but there's much more to complain about here besides size. First off, it's not that cheap. Maybe it's because of the protests but we are literally moving to a much nicer hotel for cheaper. This is not worth the $100 USD a night I paid. The room is tiny, but again, expected. What I didn't expect was filth - literal mold on the windows, stained sheets, blech. The bathroom door etc. is literally made of glass so you also have zero privacy and whoever you're with will literally see you doing your business. They provide body wash but no hand soap. No shampoo or conditioner. Only two cheap towels and only two HORRIBLE pillows. The bed is rock hard. You also have no AC control so our room was freezing. If I was paying like $25 USD a night I'd say ok but for the price they can give me a damn bar of soap. Would not stay again. The only positive is they were relaxed about refunding and very nice at the front desk.

Yelp
As the name indicates the rooms are very small. The bed in the corner takes up about 3/4 of the space in the Bedroom. The bathroom has all glass walls and a glass door. So don't buddy up with someone who you're not comfortable seeing naked. The bed is hard, though I like it that way. The water is pressure is good though sometimes it hard to get cold water.

Yelp
It's called "Mini" Hotel Central and that's exactly what I was expecting, MINI rooms. If you go in with those expectations, you won't be disappointed. The rooms are tiny. Other than the full size bed, which shares sides with three walls, your shower/sink, and a bathroom, there isn't much else to find. Oh and a small flat screen hanging on the wall at the foot of your bed. No extra amenities. But if you need a space to stay, this hotel is in a very convenient location. The bathroom and toilet are glass-encased. As I was staying in the room alone, this wasn't much of a problem, but be ware if you are staying with another guest as well. One thing to also keep in mind is that since the rooms are small, you can really hear almost everything the guest(s) next door are doing (whether it's turning in bed or coughing or sneezing). The lobby, while it has low ceilings, is spacious with plenty of very comfortable couches (especially comforting when you're suffering major jet lag). I believe there were also some computers that you can use here. Free wifi was nice. Booking in advance and online can lead to pretty sweet deals (400HK) whereas booking in person might be closer to 600HK. The staff were generally friendly and pretty helpful downstairs. I had a problem with booking my hotel and they were the ones who suggested me to book online rather than book in person and they waited patiently for me to book the room online right then and there. The front desk also allows you to leave your books/bags there, so if you get there too early to check in or are checking out earlier and don't want to lug your bags across the city, this is a safe space to store your belongings.

Yelp
I booked one night here for a layover through HK a week or so ago. Yesterday, I realized that somehow during the booking process, I made a mistake or something went wrong, because I ended up with a booking for Aug 5, instead of Sept 5 as I had intended. Usually, fixing this is a piece of cake, right? Call the hotel or agency, explain your screw up, and they resolve, and you pay the difference for the new date. Not at Mini Hotel. These guys don't care, they refused to help, citing that their policy doesn't allow changes. Doesn't matter to them if it was a mistake, they will cling to their policy over $60 USD. Meanwhile I have a two night layover in HK on my way home and was considering staying there again. The cost would have been nearly $200 for those nights. I informed them they would be losing my business, as surely any hotel that will wrangle with a guest over $60, when clearly an innocent mistake has been made is not concerned with a satisfied customer over making a quick buck. Stay at your own risk.

Yelp
Mini, as his name ! First time that I'm staying in central, and this hotel is definitely the cheapest. You can't find better deal in this area. For the weekend I paid around 60€/530HK for a night. The price can double if you book on last minute. But I have heard that it can be even cheaper... Mini hotel has very small room, just enough to put a small bed and a very small bathroom. I had to do some gym to be able to close the door of the shower... I asked for a window in the room, but you can have cheaper room without. I won't definitely book this hotel for a week or a business trip. But for a weekend where this room is only used to sleep (short) night, it's perfect ! Another point, they do not provide what Chinese hotel always provide : tooth brush, water, etc... But you can get it in the vending machine downstairs. Advice : book well in advance to make sure to have great deal. And don't turn off the AC, or you will wake up with high humidity in your room.

Yelp
Great location (though difficult to find, I advise taking a taxi instead of being your own bellman) but it was cheaper booking here than my fave hostel. The room was sooooo small it would be just comfortable for me- a five foot small asian girl, other than that it's a squeeze. The bathroom was tiny and barely fit me and I was trying so hard to not touch the walls Cuz God knows what's been there or just on it . Super humid room with pretty bad circulation, you smell the hanging water in the air. They provide toilet paper, two shower towels, and all over shampoo. The tv is pretty staticy while the water boiler looks scary and the hair dryer tiny. The bed was stiff and the sheets were pretty clean save for the few stains on the pillow case. There are two long horizontal mirrors that line the wall of the room and complete glass that separates the bathroom from the room so you get a nice view of wink wink.

Yelp
Convenient hotel, great location and very good value for money. I was on a short layover for 3 days and this hotel was perfect. I will for sure book here again once I'm back. The staff are super friendly and there is a vending machine at the hotel.

Yelp
I stayed at Mini Hotel in January 2014 for four nights. All I needed was a clean, well located and inexpensive hotel...what most people look for in an accommodation anyway! I had been warned that room hotels in Hong Kong were match box-style and the name of the hotel reminded me of that. Nevertheless, it looked pretty much what I needed and booked it. And to my delight, Mini was exactly what I had pictured in my mind: a tiny, yet convenient hotel. It is located in Ice House Street, in the heart of Central, just a few steps away from Lan Kwai Fong. In spite of its central location, the place is extremely quiet. My room was on the second floor and I couldn't hear a noise coming from the street, or even from adjacent rooms. The room though, really was a tiny one. As I was traveling on my own, I booked a single room, ensuite, with A/C, tv, wifi...Once I placed my suitcase inside, I struggled to do the same with myself! I then moved the suitcase underneath the bed and problem sorted. It was neat and clean and the bathroom, at the bedhead, was facing the street. Just be warned that the bathroom glass is see-through from outside so you may want to pull down the slides! The service at the counter was helpful and efficient. I had no problem checking in or out. The downside is that they don't have a dining space, not even for a small breakfast before heading off for the day. They do have a really nice open area with designer furniture but they don't seem to make any good use of it. Most customers waited by the counter and this area was empty most of the time. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you are traveling alone, with light luggage and for a few days. If you need to stay in Central or don't know the city very well, it is the best option I have found so far. The MTR station is 5 minutes walking and so is the tramway. It is also easy to grab a cab at the hotel door. I paid 2520 HKD for my stay.

Yelp
This is a perfect location for those who like to party as it's within steps from Lan Kwai Fong (and just behind Play/Dizzi nightclub). Rooms are very self contained and each have it's own bathrooms. A word of warning that the bathroom wall is see-through just in case you're staying with another guest (make sure you know them really well!)

Yelp
Mini is mini. Great location for a short stay in Hong Kong. Two minutes walk from Causeway Bay. Rooms are mini and essential, with TV and internet wifi.

Yelp
For the pros: -Location is great. -They offer a free 3G phone during your stay which is useful if you're traveling from another country. *End of list* Now the cons: If it wasn't for this hotel's excellent location, I would give it one star. Here are the issues with this hotel: -Is there no dehumidifier in the entire hotel? The AC had to be set to 14 degrees in order for it not to be incredibly humid in the room! It was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a "hotel" room. -Craziest thing of all: The entire bathroom is a glass wall! Which means if you have to go to the toilet, your husband/wife/partner will be able to see you. I am very comfortable with my fiancee, but I do not want to be watched sitting on the toilet. Does anyone? Your hotel, must fix this. It is absurd! -The front desk service was not very good. About half of them were friendly, the other half, just downright rude. -Lastly, and I understand the name of this hotel and I know this can't be changed, but the hotel rooms are uncomfortably small. This really shouldn't be called a hotel. If I was a single guy with only one suitcase, the room size would be okay (but still uncomfortable). For couples, don't even try this place. I will not be staying here again. There is no chance I'll stay here again. I will happily pay more for a better room. Get dehumidifiers and change the bathrooms! Never experienced a hotel like this anywhere else in the world!

Yelp
What. A. Nightmare. BED BUG BEWARE - do not stay here. I stayed in this hotel, and although well situated I got woke up the next morning with several bites. I didn't know anything about bed bugs and assumed I'd been bitten by a mosquito. Next night - many more bites. Then it was time to check out and I flew onto a different part of China and stayed in a 'lap of luxury' 5* hotel. When I got back home to America and unpacked I found that every night I woke up with red bites on my body. Distressed I decided to do some research online. I soon concluded I had bed bugs. My boyfriend was being bitten too, so we stripped off the bed and saw them in the mattress. We had one hell of an ordeal over the next months. We boiled bedding, put down poison, steam-cleaned the floor to stop them spreading and breeding in the floorboards, we slept in the living room for a while... we kept washing bedding and clothes daily... we didn't use our closets for clothes for a year, but instead had to keep our clothes in the living room. It was just hell. We finally got it under control and stopped being bitten. Nightmare. it's been 18 months so I opened up a bag of clothes I'd had quarantined since it all began (apparently bed bugs die after 9-12 months if they have nothing to feed on) and I took out a jacket and wore it. I thought it was safe. I am so upset because it's 3 days later and my body has gradually become covered in bites again. I have 9 painful ugly bites on one leg alone. I am miserable. I thought all that bed bug nonsense was a distant bad dream. I was wrong. It might be starting all over again. I would pay thousands of dollars for 2 nights in any other hotel than the Mini Hotel - just so I could avoid all this time and misery and money spent in dealing with this nightmare. And on top of the bedbug situation, I wasn't even impressed with the hotel anyway. Sure it was affordable but it wasn't that clean and I had to ask for a towel and when they brought it I realised it was like a tiny hand towel (which I had to make do with to dry myself and dry my long hair), and it had holes in it from wear. Please. Take my advice. Don't stay here. If I only had the benefit of my own advice back then....
