Love going to church ⛪️ now! Very unique & who would have thought of a brewery inside a church?! Glad they made such creative use of the space as it would've been torn down. Our bartenders Jack & Sara were so amazing!!!! If you're visiting or local, check this spot out!

Such a neatly repurposed use of an abandoned church - a massive labor of love! Beer was solid, and the to-go cans are a great value. Friendly bar staff. Plenty of space to stretch out. Sharp merchandise, too.

Ok, if you told me there was a brewery in a church in the middle of Baltimore I would have said you're a liar. Either way the beers are excellent and the the venue is is amazing! Just chilling in a church and drinking on a Tuesday. Best happy hour I could ask for.

Even though none of the beers really stood out to me, the atmosphere and staff did. I'm always sucker for repurposed buildings and they did a good job with this one. Beautiful architecture, lots of lighting, and good seating. The staff was pretty friendly and offered a bunch of samples. While none of the beers were ones I would get next time, they seemed like they mix it up enough and try enough to always get something new. For being a brewery it was actually pretty family friendly as well and had a bunch of games tucked away as well. I heard it also use to be dof friendly too but some guidelines made that change which is unfortunate. Overall a good place to visit

Easily one of the coolest breweries I’ve ever been to. They have so much space because of how large the building is and the concept of renovating a church into a brewery is certainly creative. You could walk right past it on the street without knowing it’s a brewery. As for the interior, there’s plenty of seating options including different seat styles. They have a games corner where you can pick up card and board games as well as books and magazines to look through. I was a big fan of the “wispy” which is light and flavorful, but they have a lot of other good options to try. I was particularly impressed with their sours. If you’ve never been the beer flight is your best starting option!

Really a stellar beer bar with a great assortment of brews. Very spacious, plenty of seating, dog friendly, and not too focused on the latest rendering in brewing. The ESB was exceptional and even the newer fruit forward beers were damn tasty.

Love taking out of town guests here! Drinking beer in a cool historical church is an unmatched vibe. Their beer is also very tasty and staff are always willing to make a recommendation based on what you like. Can't wait to come back here soon!

The most unique and beautiful brewery I have ever visited- and I've visited quite a few. This building is absolutely breathtaking and the story behind their opening is very cool. Their beer is delicious- and even offer crowlers of all their beers on tap. They seemed to have a beer for everyone, including soft drinks for the kids. And dogs are welcome all the time! How fun! They have lots of swag that you can purchase too! One of my favorite parts was the retro sticker machine at the entrance- I couldn't resist. I give 4 starts because the women's bathroom was filthy. Panty liners on the floor, including other trash- three things of soap yet none of them had anything in them. Service wasn't anything special because you're just ordering your beer at the tap. If you like to brewery hop, I definitely recommend hitting Ministry of Brewing. It's a very unique experience!

Disclaimer: I'm not much of a beer drinker. This brewery is cool if you like repurposed spaces. It clearly used to be a church - still has the old confessions, paintings on the wall, etc. it's a very spacious brewery. They have some board games available to borrow. Everyone in our group ended up getting tasters. It was a great option at reasonable pricing. Parking is neighborhood street parking. Overall, great brewery option!

Not a beer drinker whatsoever but i actually really liked this place. It is a Brewery in a Church!! Super unique and absolutely beautiful decor! Even if you're not a drinker, this place is a must-go! Food There are other options besides beer but if you're coming here, you must try the beer. I decided to get a beer to try out the place. I got the Sunset Sunnies and i actually really enjoyed it! If you don't like drinking beer but you come here with friends and want to sip on something, i definitely suggest some ciders they offer or you can try the Sunset Sunnies beer (passion fruit induced) or the Peach Point (peach puree induced). And of course, they have many other draft beer options to try from! They also have food options! Ambiance The brewery is inside an old church and it is so beautiful, on the outside and the inside. The decor is lovely and it is huge! The brewery is kid friendly and pet friendly! They also do a lot of fun things throughout the week. On Tuesdays, they do trivia nights at 7:30pm. And the third Thursday of each month, they do Bingo night! There are also other events that take place in there, mixed with beer! Service You get up, order your beer, and within 10-15 seconds (depending on how crowded it is), you have your beer right there, as you are paying. Overall, this is such a cute place and i would definitely come back. Might be the only place where i actually enjoyed drinking beer because of the actual beer and the beautiful decor.

I stumbled upon Ministry of Brewing and I just had to go inside. It was quite big, the staff was friendly, and they have a good selection of craft beers on draft. I also liked that they had something for everyone if you don't like beer or are looking for something nonalcoholic. They kept some of the original church characteristics which was cool.

Stopped in here while visiting Baltimore on a lazy Sunday and it was super cool! The church that the brewery is inside of is a very unique venue for a brewery! This place is huge and has a good atmosphere. All the beer we tried was also good. I especially like the Esmeralda and the 7:54. Both had good flavors! The brewery itself doesn't have food but there was a food truck outside while we were there. It seems like they have food trucks everyday which is super nice since they don't sell food. The staff was very friendly and there are games you could play while you drink. Football was on and they have a few TVs and a projector. There was also hockey trivia while we were there and it seems like there's a lot of events they have. Overall, this was a good place to come and get some beers and hang out on a Sunday afternoon.

Ministry of brewing is an absolutely beautiful brewery in a old church. It's quite unassuming from the outside, but step inside, and the interior is absolutely stunning. I adored the painted fresco on the ceiling, and some of the glass work in the windows. They have a large selection of Beers and ciders at a very reasonable and affordable price, so definitely a great spot to drive a drink with friends. It's all bar service, so don't expect anyone to come by and pick up orders. I do wish they had food, because otherwise, this would be a perfect place.

Oh my god the beer was so good! I had to remind myself that it isn't juice and to take it slow! They have a hazy IPA that made me fall head over heels for this place. Forget the coolness factor of being in an old church, the beer here is amazing!!! There isn't really too much to say other than it is a huge old church turned into a great brewery. We didn't really interact with the staff, just ordered our drinks sat down at one of the pews turned into a table, and enjoyed this most delicious hazy, hoppy concoction. Would I recommend it to a friend? Oh hell yeah! Would I go back? You better believe it!!! 5 stars friends!

Ministry of Brewing (MOB) is a wonderful place in upper fells to stop by after work or just to hang out with friends. They have a wide variety of beers, both staples and seasonal ones. I can never decide so I always get the flights, with 4 small samples. It's $12.50. The inside is also so unique and the tall ceilings are definitely a vibe. They have weekly events like trivia night. One of my favorite places in Baltimore!

OKkkk, say what?! A church that's a brewery?!!! This place was so cool- who cares if you don't go to church regularly-- this one, YOU GOTTA TRY! Beer me, oh holy one! They have a great range of beers-- tons of seating and they have a food truck too. My friend and I were so intrigued about a church that was turned into a brewery-- we had to come! Smell the yeast as you step into this glorious high ceiling place of worship! We shared a flight which came with four tastings. There may be a line, but it moves super fast! Before I put my wallet away, our flight was ready for us! We enjoyed the lighter stuff -- Wispy was our winner and we enjoyed the house cider too. If we had more time we could have tried more beers and played games that they have in the back-- oh well-- Next time!!

This is one of the coolest bars I've been to! It is located on a former St. Michael's Church, so the interior is gorgeous. And even though at first it felt a little scandalous, I appreciate that they are tying to transform what was a struggling church into something new that can still bring the community together. Their beer are also excellent. I had their Cider which was delicious and great if you are looking for something sweet. But my friends got the LLB which is an American Blonde ale and Lady Day which is an American Pale ale which were both really good. I feel like I'll be pretty hard to go wrong here. And they do offer a flight so you can try out all their different beer. Their service was also nice and is more than happy to explain all their different options.

Neat place! An old church renovated to be a brewery ! Cool concept ! I went with some friends to visit for my first time and we had some great beers and laughs! The only drawback is they were only open until 10pm on Friday night! I'd go back though!

Decent venue. Pretty architecture. My friend thought it smells heavily to alcohol, didn't bother me. I wish they served food. There is a food truck outside which you can access by climbing the stairs. My friend got the burger which she had no complaints. I got the chicken nachos which I thought were extremely salty to unhealthy levels. I got the flight of beers which was a nice experience. Overall worth trying but not sure I will come here very frequently.

Coolest brewery around. In an old Catholic Church so it's super holy! Prob about 80 people in there and there was still so much room! The beer was delicious. I just hung out and enjoyed the views.

Very very cool place. Bar staff is as friendly and helpful. Beers were solid. Only thing, don't set bar stools at the bar and not tell people that you have go stand in a live to order. It was a Tuesday and packed, you're making enough $$ to hire a few more people.

Cool and unique brewery. I appreciated them keeping the architectural elements of the original church. Came here with friends. Plenty of seating and tables. They do not serve food. We brought our own food and purchased cider there which was very tasty. They even have card games and board games that you can play while there. Allow yourself time to find parking. My only negative is that they allow pets.

This is probably one of the most beautiful and unique breweries I've ever visited. Located in an old Catholic church, a lot of the character of the church has been maintained. There's a beautiful fresco on the ceiling and some pews mixes in with the tables and chairs. Lots of seating and lots of space. Only thing I didn't live was that there was an off smell throughout the place. The beer was varied and the three I tried were really good. The first was a 50% chai beer mixed with 50% cider. Can't say it was the best drink, but worth trying once! I really like their cream ale and brown ale. Staff were efficient. There was a food truck outside who put QR codes on the table and delivered directly, so it was very convenient.

I went to the Ministry of Brewing when they hosted the Bmore Flea Vintage Market - and I absolutely loved the experience! It was 11 AM - 12 PM early bird entry for $5 cash, and 12 PM - 5 PM free entry; all draft beers were $3. "Vintage, beer, food, and good vibes" was an accurate description!

Great beers, beautiful space, fun board games, and a wonderful place to chill out, go on a date, or meet up with friends. We come here at least once a month and while there are staple beers, Ministry is dedicated to seasonal brews so there's always something new to try. There is a ton of space, as you can imagine, so there's always a table or spot you can grab, as well a a small outdoor patio out back with tables and chairs. If you want food, this place doesn't have a kitchen, but check their website and Instagram to see what food trucks will be available.

Too loud. Fuck conversation. Punish the crowd. Use to love this place. Great building. Great beer.

Hands down one of my favorite breweries - all but 1 or 2 we tried we loved and we left with a few cases of things to take home. Super novel idea you don't come by often- definitely an experience. We went a little early in the day and the food trucks I believe show up later in the afternoon so the only downfall was no food but otherwise 10/10 for taste, service and decor. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area

Food options were minimal but once the pandemic weirdness ends, maybe some cute cups and sauces could help! The service was unbeatable and everyone was friendly, happy, and very helpful with recommendations and descriptions. The space is so impressive and well restored. Love it all and can't wait to try more!!

Love love love this place! This used to be an old Catholic Church that was redone into a brewery! They have kept some of the old architectural details such as the pews upstairs, the flooring and the confessional. The staff are friendly and they always have a great selection of beers. They don't have a kitchen so do not come expecting food but they do have bags of chips. They offer flights of 4 beer options priced at $11, so not bad at all! They have plenty of seats and do offer the option of private events as I saw one taking place today. There is always plenty of street parking.

Loved the ambience and beer selection but the food from the food truck they had out back was barely edible. Food is an important art of the experience, I recommend they be more selective with whom they host

What a beautiful and fantastic place. I liked that they were able to preserve so much of the interior and that they repurposed some of the materials as well. Flights are reasonably priced. They were out of some of the beers I really wanted to try, which was a disappointment, but I was still able to enjoy a nice flight. Service at the counter is very quick... order, pay, move to your right, receive your beers. There's plenty of space for parties of all sizes too.

This was a first for me. I have never drank beer inside of a church turned brewery, this is the restored St. Michael's Church. The beer and service were both really good. My favorite was the 7:54 IPA which is a west coast IPA so I left with a pack of cans. It's a must visit if you are in Baltimore.

The beer was very tasty, and food was great. Most of the tables were full, and still never waited more than a couple of minutes to get a drink. The venue is gorgeous, very cool place to grab a beer.

This is the coolest brewery I have been to. When my friend found it online, I was not expecting it to be this cool. The brewery is literally in an old church. There is lots of seating, we even sat in church pews. We both had hard ciders that were very good. They also had a food truck outside if you needed food. The brewery is within walking distance of Fell's Point.

The second that we found out about this brewery we knew we had to go see it for ourselves as soon as possible! The ministry of brewing is built in an old church. It is a real unique place compared to being in a standard brewery. It is quite a beautiful building with the high ceilings! Super spacious so a great place to bring groups. I tried their 9.9 problems. It was great! My husband got the Sunglasses at Night black currant goes. He said it was 10/10! I contemplated whether or not to buy some merchandise. All the merch was very high quality items. If you want food while here they had a taco truck but we missed out since the truck closed at 8 but the brewery stayed open longer. There is always the option of getting food delivered to their location as well if needed. Highly recommend taking an Uber or Lyft here street parking is tough to find. It's better to just enjoy your time there and get home safely!

Wow! Probably the coolest space for a brewery that I have ever visited! Great selection of beers of all kinds in a super cool space. How often do you get to drink beer with friends in a 100+ year old Catholic Church? Truly a unique spot for any beer lover.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to check out Ministry of Brewing! The space is absolutely incredible - the transformation from church to brewery is great without losing too much of the space's original character. I got a flight to be able to try a few different beers. My favorite was the Cream Ale, but I also enjoyed the IPAs I got. I also didn't think they had food but was pleasantly surprised to see a small food menu! Ministry of Brewing is going to be my new go-to spot to bring people who are visiting from out of town.

What a cool place! It is really difficult to capture how beautiful this place is in a photo because of how grand it is so you're just going to have to take my word for it. This is the kind of place you have to bring your visiting guests because it's so unique! The beer is great too. While they didn't do flights during the hours we were there, we were very happy with every beer we tried. There is an outdoor patio area that had a food truck pulled up, and it looks like they have plenty scheduled. I'm a big IPA fan and ended up bringing home two different 4 packs, because they were that good!

completely caked my pants walking into this place. it's a pretty dope bar and totz for le pho toes ! The beer selection is fun, lots of good choices and some spicy choices for people who're tryna experiment and go brazy. There's also lots of TVs for people try watch sports and bet on them too :drooling-face: The venue is also huge, there's a lot of table and you just walk in, choose a table and sit down. Super easy to get beer and vibe. There's also a huge selection of board games so it's easy to waste a lot of time in the area. They also sell 6packs to go, and a bunch of different merch if you wanna buy some of those tings. ALSO they got free water from that big bottle fountain so in case you're begging for water, they got you good. Overall? Dope place and you can tell they put in effort to make it nice. However, there's a small cliff when you're walking from the bar to the tables on the left side so if you don't use you eyes you're gonna eat shit and fall on the floor. I did not do this but I could totally envision someone having one too many beers and completely eating cake on the face. be safe friends

I have now been to this brewery twice with friends. The ambiance is soo nice and inviting, and relaxed. I'm more partial to ciders vs beers, so I'm very pleased that they have a good selection of them to try. You can bring your own food in which is a plus. And they have board games that you can play as well. The staff are very friendly and it's definitely a place I will continue to come back to.

Came here while I was in Baltimore for a wedding. My GF and I visited on 2/02 to check it out because we are from Southern California and were looking for some west coast IPA's and saw that they had one on tap. Glad we came here. It's in an old church which makes it even cooler and the beers didn't disappoint! I actually came back today because I tried beers at other places and they sucked I'm not going to lie... this place knows what they're doing and I'm glad I stopped in. The service was great. If I lived closer I would definitely come back over and over again! They also have food trucks here that I didn't get the chance to try out but the food looked delicious!

The first thing I noticed is that wonderful aroma of Yeast/Fermentation that I usually get whenever I'm visiting a brewery except this is a former church. Hmmm-the open/grand space still has some of the church murals/paintings. Overall, a beautiful interior! I quickly moved from being awestruck and got used to the atmosphere which includes an ample of amount of high top tables, bench seating & a couple of TVs. They have a bar area where you order and pick up. The Food Truck (which rotates daily) is located in the Courtyard (up a flight of stairs and outside)-schedule is posted on their site. Decided to start with a flight. The Point (refreshing Pilsner), Imperial Wispy (Hazy IPA--just right hoppy), Winter Ale (Bitter with spices) & 9.9 Problems (their Stout and my favorite). Enjoyed all of them except the Winter Ale-was a bit too bitter for me. Ordered from the Food Truck of the day which was Buck n Grill. Their Burger and Brat were both very good. (My Review is on their site) Just starting to pick up when I arrived around 5 on a Friday and by around 7 all tables were full and they were busy. Service was friendly and upbeat. Like their Education, Community, Philanthropy mission. Also, saw merchandise and Beer for sale. Will be back to try more of their rotating Brews. Different & positively unexpected experience!

Am I giving five stars because it's gorgeous in here? No but also yes. I have a deep and abiding love for old buildings and I remember watching on the news when they started reno here. It's amazing what they've done to restore this space and how it supports the neighborhood. This place is huge inside with lots of seating. The bar staff are awesome and happy to help. Getting a flight is super easy and props for making the "paddles" solid wood blocks instead paddles that are easy to spill. Great rotating selection with a wide variety. I had all 3 sours and the blueberry stout. Sunglasses at Night was my fav but enjoyed all the rest, even the stout. Hubby enjoyed the flight as well. Tonight's good truck was Love Crust Pizza. Don't feel bad for eating a whole pizza. I could go for a second. We brought in CFA for our anarchist child. Lots of others bringing food too. Another great spot in the city for beer.

First visit to the Ministry and we loved it. The structure is a beautiful old Roman Catholic Church. While the alter, statuary and stained glass are gone, the building retains its feel and has several pews and the original carved wood confessional. It's a great place to hang out with friends. There are large picnic tables and high tops. Several parties had brought dinners with them, which was a great idea. It's a great atmosphere and everyone was nice and helpful. I had a flight and tried 4 beers, 2 lite and two dark. The darker beers where better. And I loved the Hounds Tooth Oatmeal Stout. They also had two gluten free options. All in all, we will be back.

Coolest brewery in Baltimore! When I first heard about Ministry of Brewing I was a little skeptical. But the second I walked in I understood the appeal, It has such a cool vibe! The restored church has tall vaulted ceilings with beautiful stained glass windows that let in a lot of light and pews for seating. The beer is very good as well and I love it when they partner with Fuzzies Burgers Food Truck, because their burgers are the best around!

A brewery in a church. I mean that could be the whole review and you know you'd go, but a little more should be said about Ministry of Brewing. This was a great spot to check out when my buddies and I visited Baltimore back in July for a bachelor party weekend. From that opening you can tell that ambiance blows the rest of this place out of the water. When we pulled up to MoB it felt like just a regular ol' house of worship...until we saw the stain glass window "M" logo and we realized something else was afoot there. Everything about the interior screams church. They still have a majority of the paintings, statues, and even the pews which are used at some tables as part of the seating. It's really the brewery equipment straight back and the bar to the right that makes you start to realize that it's not Sunday and no one will be preaching. Now if this review was based solely on space it would easily get a five star write up, but I went more with four because Ministry didn't blow me away with their brews. Don't get me wrong, they had some tasty stuff, but I didn't want the insanely cool digs to navigate the rest of the review rating. So what did I drink? A flight was a must here to see what these church brewers could concoct. There were 8 original beers on tap along with a few ciders, Lagunitas' Hop Refresher, and Boylan's soda (for thou who shall not drink the libations). The variety was pretty nice with some IPAs as well as a dabble in German and Belgian styles. Throw in a stout and a gose for good measure and that made up this tap list. For me, I snagged something from almost every variety (hazy pale ale, witbier, gose, stout) to compile my flight. Wispy, the hazy pale ale, might've been the best brew of the bunch with its smooth feel on the palate while still giving off a little juicy crispy bite. Wit (you can guess that one) didn't entirely hit the mark as I expected more kick from the spices and orange peel, but it was easily drinkable. The same could be said for Pink Sunglasses (their pomegranate gose) and 9.9 Problems (an imperial stout). Both were good beers to drink, but I didn't walk out of the brewery thinking about the beer. Ambiance still overpowered everything else which wasn't what I entirely wanted in the end. Overall, Ministry of Brewing is a great spot to check out. Are their beers the most amazing thing I've tried? No, but they're quality for sure and worthy of a return trip...plus yeah, the ambiance is just so spectacular that you know you'd want to hang out here as much as possible. Good beer and a fantastic space makes this brewery a place to visit. And hey, if anyone asks, just tell them you're going to church. It's not not true...heh heh.

I really like the place! On Saturday, there was a yoga class and I had a glass of beer after it. Since the building was originally a church, there are some paintings on the ceiling. Every time I made a yoga pose, I was able to see the paintings. There were around 15 different beers and I tried the mild one. I also visit there whenever I would like to refresh myself after deskwork. The beer is delicious indeed. The place comes to be indispensable for my life in Baltimore.

A stunning place to stop in Baltimore. Personally I was walking here from the Harbor but decided to order an Uber because I started getting a feeling of no longer being safe. So I do suggest having a vehicle. The Brewery itself is stunning but how many breweries can you actually say are Inside a church. The inside was clean and tables had enough seats for most parties. There is no food available but occasionally have a food truck. However you can bring your own food which is pretty neat! They have a good selection of brews but small selection of ciders. I tried both a blood orange cider and a blackberry cider. I don't recommend the blackberry cider it tasted like water with a splash of beer lol. The only thing I wish is that they had a better sound system to play music because it sounded like it was coming from the right hand corner of the room only and kinda staticky( I'm big on music completes the ambiance) I will be back to bring my friends and family though it is a very unique location! Hopefully they can bring in live bands or DJs I know that would sound amazing

Easily the most unique brewery experience in all of the Baltimore-Washington area. Formerly a church, this brewery has retained the character of the original church interior, while still managing to transform and modernize the space. The beer options are fine and well, but it's truly the ambience that makes you want to come back. Between the high ceilings and natural light of the space, along with the board game options available to play, Ministry of Brewing is a great place to go to spend an afternoon.

This is a must-see! I've never experienced a brewery like this. Such a fun environment and beautiful to see how they've revamped the old church into a brewery. They had plenty of seating inside and had some games available to play. There was a great spread of brews for the day on tap. It was cool to see how they kept the original feel of the church while also making it their own spot. I don't think I'll ever see a brewery as cool as this one again. Would recommend anyone coming through Baltimore to make a stop here for a beer and a beautiful atmosphere!

The kind of brewery the Good Lord was proud to see. If there wasn't signage out front and you walked past, you'd assume this was just a church. We'll step right in and get blessed with some wonderful tasting hops! It's amazing how they turned this church into a brewery while keeping just about everything intact. The staff here is amazing and they're super friendly. Sometimes the line can get long but patience is a virtue. Jk you don't have to wait too long in line. They got their system down and they're ready to get your beer into your hands. They have a great selection and I haven't found anything that I didn't like. Hats off to the brewmaster for these wonderful concoctions! By far one of my favorite breweries in Baltimore!

Definitely must checkout brewery in Baltimore. It's an old cathedral converted into brewery. So lots of tables and food truck outside. Vegetarian have choice of veggie and cheese sandwiches but it's tastes yum! The beer was great iMP: dogs are welcomed and checkout their FB page for cool events.
