If you’ve never hiked on this trail before, the Mink River itself can be difficult to find. However, it is guaranteed that in some areas, you will find yourself marveling at the striking forest scenery around you. This is an ideal spot to take some time to meditate, gaze around at the trees that surround you, draw in a deep breath, and listen to the sounds of the birds hidden in the canopy of the forest.

Well we tried to go here with our pups and three kids. Talk about needing bug spray!!!! It was so bad we didn't even get to the water and the ground was so muddy. I wish we could have gone the distance. Just not possible let with Littles. A little warning would habe gone a long way. I hope this helps other families prepare. We were not at all prepares for this.

Great hiking. The trail was generally level with little elevation gain. The distance from the trailhead to the estuary was about a mile. The is wide, and the woods are open, with the undergrowth not overwhelming the forest floor.

A beautiful woods and marsh for hiking and viewing flora typical of northern wetlands. Go in late spring-early summer to see the lady slippers, a rare wild orchid. Be sure to wear boots and use your mosquito repellant.

Great trails. Well marked though the map excludes some of the trails. Expect to get muddy or wet as you hike nearer to the river

Unique freshwater estuary accessible by hiking trails and small boats. I love kayaking here every year.

Nice peaceful walk back to the river. Some areas are extremely wet, and I'd advise knee boots if you don't want your shoes wet.
