My safari at Minneriya National Park was amazing! It was the perfect place to watch wild elephants up close in their natural habitat. A truly unforgettable and peaceful wildlife experience.

Minneriya National Park is world-famous for the spectacular ‘Elephant Gathering,’ where hundreds of wild elephants come together near the Minneriya Tank, especially during the dry season. The park is home to diverse wildlife including deer, crocodiles, monkeys, and a wide range of birds. The vast grasslands and scenic water reservoir create a breathtaking backdrop for safaris. A visit here is an unforgettable experience for anyone who loves nature and wildlife.

Great national park where you will see many elephants. Some peacocks and monkeys can be spotted here as well. The main attraction is elephants which is well worth it, and if your driver depending the tour you book with can get really close to the elephants. I highly recommend visiting this national park.

Beautiful natural reserve in the middle of Sri Langka. We were promised to see around 150-200 elephants and boy, did it deliver! You will get to experience them up close from your jeep. This safari adventure is highly recommended when you visit the country.

A perfect spot for a day out with friends and family. The surroundings are peaceful and ideal for relaxing, playing games, or simply enjoying nature. One of the most memorable moments was seeing a group of wild elephants in the evening — a truly breathtaking and rare experience. Highly recommended for nature lovers and those looking to unwind in a scenic setting.

We chose Sinhagirin Tours based on most reviewed on Tripadvisor. A day before the team sent a WhatsApp message saying rescheduling to Hurulu Eco Park will have a better chance of elephant sightings. However, the topography is mostly bushes and yes there were elephant mommy with junior elephants you’re crammed with 6-7 other jeeps. After like 1.5 hours I chose to change back to Minnerya National Park. Come what may due to the large lake there should be animals anyway! Our driver Bhashitha was very accommodating reconfirming again our choice with the office and off we went to Minneriya National Park. Excellent choice! Hardly any other jeeps. Just saw two others near the lake. Luckily, we found a small here of elephants 3 adult females and a week old baby elephant. Saw several large male elephants too, 3 sightings of a deer herd, kingfisher, mongoose, sly fox all within the first 30 mins in the park. The track was nice and shady too compared to the bushes of Hurulu Eco Park. So for the new comers! Stick to Minneriya National Park and you’ll surely see many types of animals. Kindly note, entrance fee to Minneriya National Park is LKR10,786.78 per foreign adult while Hurulu Eco Park is LKR2,060. Bring sunglasses and a hat to protect against the sun. Thank you Sinhagirin Tour for being flexible and a shout-out to Bhashitha for his sharp eyes in pointing out the many different animals, types of species and good knowledge of the animals! Highly recommended. We paid USD69.60 for 2 adults on Tripadvisor.

Went in low season and yes, for moments it was crowed, but the driver new exactly what to do to avoid crows and put us in some great spots. The national park is amazing, I would recommend you find a recommended driver by your hotel who would make the difference. Elephants are sooo cuteeee

what a lovely national park!! the park itself has a pathway that all of the jeeps take, which does mean the jeeps all gather across the park. but the route is brilliant - it takes you across different lakes where elephant herds stroll. despite the many jeeps, the quietness of elephants mooching on the field grass is almost deafening. it’s just incredible. we saw lots of baby elephants too, a real treat. <3
